I think that this place has good intentions, but they're a lot of things that are faultering. When I called for a last-minute availability inquiry, they were very warm and welcoming over the phone, but as I stepped into the shop, literally every head turned and glared at me. I almost felt like they were not open like maybe I walked in while they were still opening.. I didn't wanna make a big deal out of things so I just said "Hello". Nobody responded to me for a minute and then without asking me if I was getting a pedicure or manicure abruptly, told me to sit in seat one. I really make it a point to wash my hands before my service just out of respect for the tech but I felt like I was doing something wrong by moving around the shop because of the way that they were staring at me. When I sat down, I tried to say hello and strike up a small conversation. Literally the only thing that she said to me was "hello and do you work today?". No response to the question that she , She just stopped talking after that. I'm very introverted myself so I tried also to not take this personally. But I couldn't help but feel like I just was not welcome. I picked a color and although I know, sometimes the colors change slightly underneath of the light this color had to have been old because when I tell you the color that is on my fingernails is not the color that I chose, pretty frustrating and considering I snuck this appointment before I had work, I did not have time for her to take it off and change it . All well during this appointment there is a man in the back corner of the shop, banging on a pipe and making all this loud noise. Which is fine if repairs need to be done OK , but people literally work hard for their money and they wanna come here and relax and get their nails done not listen to a construction zone . And the last thing I'll say is that I didn't ask for a major design. I asked for a tiny little heart with a specific angle. And as she was trying to do this, I noticed that my middle nail was completely crooked. Not angled wrong because of how my nail bed is laying, like actually crooked. I tried to express that it was crooked and all she did was file it more crookedly. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately $60 for a full set that is basically crooked and wrong doesn't feel fair. I just simply left after paying. And i dont think ill be back. I only stopped in to buy someone a gift certificate for Christmas. It was a pretty quick transaction, but I got the feeling they were too busy for me. No smiles and very few words. Made an appointment for 2 pedicures on a Monday afternoon and we were able to be seated together no problem. I spent $60 for a deluxe pedi with callus removal, and I'm shocked at the quality. My tech took callus removal extremely seriously and my feet have never looked better. My cuticles/ingrown nails were taken care of without any pinching or cuts. For polish, I picked silver glitter, and my tech took initiative to add a silver base under it - free of charge - just so it would look better. The salon is not fancy but is very clean. Massage chairs were powerful and they had HGTV on a TV facing the chairs. All in all a 10/10 pedicure. I can't wait to come back. read more

She was meticulous and really cared about the health of my nails. I did my own nails for 10 years so I'm very picky... she wanted to do a full take off and full set but I didn't have time for that so she cleaned them well and did a fantastic fill!!! $32 for an acrylic fill with gel polish. I also did nail art so my total was $37. Jenny helped my mom. She did a good job. She speaks very quietly and it can be hard to hear her. I will be back for pedicures as well when I have time! Don't ever make an appointment and expect to be in at your appointment time if you are making the reservation for more than 1 person. I have come here twice now and won't be back. The first time with my dad and we waited 20 min to be sat. We were walking out the front door to go somewhere else when they came after us. Then today came in for a reservation for three people and they took two of us and we were practically done with our pedicures by the time they wanted to seat my dad. He ended up not getting the pedicure and sat and waited for us the whole time. You make a reservation with the expectation to sit together. Not acceptable. read more

I was new to the neighborhood and really wanted to make this salon work because of other good reviews. I have never had such a terrible experience however. Within four visits they completely ruined my nail beds. I went into a new salon and they pointed out to me that my nail beds were incredibly thin, as if I had been using acrylics for several months... I have never used acrylics in my life. I also have very thick healthy nails that I can usually wear long. However, after their mishandling of my nails just 4 times, they were too thin to wear long and began breaking off. This is literally never happened to me, even when I would wear shellac continually for six months at a time. I believe this is because they rush through each manicure and use unnecessary tools and force to file down your nails, instead of allowing the polish to break down and clean it off properly. Also, my third time I made note not to have my nails done by a certain technician, who hissed at me several times when I asked for certain detail work. She shook the polish at me abs raised her voice to the point that other patrons looked up to see what was happening. This was all because I wanted a certain design on my nails. I honestly don't understand how people would go back, other than the convenience of their location. I will now have to wait a couple of months for my nails to regrow before I can wear them long and put polish on them again. Will not return here however. read more

I LOVE this nail salon! The first time I visited set the tone. I had a damaged nail and was in a lot of pain. The technician was so gentle and communicated the entire way making sure I felt comfortable. I asked for a type of design I'd never gotten and she was happy to do it. (Little did I know getting jewels means they fall off the moment you are too rough, oops) Every time afterward has been just as amazing. When you go here you don't feel like another money sign. They take their time, they're sweet, they're polite and they do amazing work. The salon is always cute and clean with great stuff playing on tv. News, cooking shows, etc. I now regularly see Jenny and I adore her. I have no issues with this salon and I recommended anyone come here. Pricing isn't bad. They were, I want to say so-so, but if I'm honest, my nail tech wasn't very good. It was my first time trying this spot out after reading all of the "rave" reviews. Ended up getting a full set (mountain peak shaped). The nails on the left hand are shorter than the right. Not to mention the angles are off and the nail on the left middle finger is crooked. The tech tried to assure me that they would look better once painted. They don't look better, they look elementary. Not a professional/skilled job. I went to this place for my 1st time a few weeks ago before my vacation with my friend and her daughter. We all got mani/pedicures. The staff was very nice and the place looked clean. And the owner said nothing really happened so she was not going to give me a discount. I have station number 5. The woman ripped 2 of my natural nails off my fingers, ouch! I was actually tearing up it hurt so bad. The nail technician used the drill on my fingers to get my old dipping powder off and she melted the polish and burned my natural nails twice. When using a nail file to buff the technician gave me small cuts on all my fingers. I can take pain but really all my fingers. When putting a fake nail on one of the ripped natural nails. she didn't know what to do she called over another nail technician to fit me with the correct size. I completed the service i got dipping powder, I paid because i didn't want to be rude. Never going back. My fingers were burning and i had tears in my eye from the pain. I had Acrylic French Tip Nails done yesterday at Bells Nails & Spa. Several times, I asked the nail technician to cut the nail shorter. I was concerned about the see-through part of my nail. She kept saying, "No this look good." It didn't look right. After I got home, my family said they looked terrible... the nail bed alignment is wrong. I went back to Bells today and asked if they could please just paint over the nail to hide the see-through part of my nail or fix the French tip alignment. The refused to fix it and told me I'd have to pay. My family: Mom, Grandma, Aunt, cousins and myself have all been regular customers at Bells for years. I was initially drawn here by all the great reviews of Rosie and the fact they offer chrome nails. My actual experience was not super. I will list pros and cons below, but one particular thing really stuck with me. The man that works there (owner?) is exceptionally worrisome. I did not have my service done by him, but he seemed to be involved in just about everyone's business. My nail tech and I were making small talk and I asked her how long she'd been doing this, she said 'two years'. The male coworker heard her and started screeching at her in vietnamese. She then quickly corrected 'more than 2 years'. This is just one example of him seemingly berating his co-workers while I was there. I know these types of nails salons are NOT the pinnacle of great labor practices or fair treatment, but this was the first time I left actually worrying about the women's safety who work there. Pros: Walked in and was seen in a timely manner Clean, well-lit environment Great selection of colors and styles CHROME! Not crazy expensive Cons: Creepy guy The shellac seems too thick on my nails, expecting chipping to happen asap Nail tech was very obviously in a hurry (I wanted another design but she told me it would 'take too long') The group of people who work there are very obviously talking about you/all of their customers in their native language, at all times. ( Complete with pointing, laughing and some english words related to whoever they are talking about). I don't see any reason to go back for services as I was not blown away by any part of my experience. I would however go back just to check in on the safety of the women there, from a 'concern for human rights' perspective. Going a few extra minutes into Portland is not a hardship for me, especially if it means better service. read more

This place is great. Not only is it very clean there are so many stations! They can accommodate a lot of people at once. They allow your child to sit with you should you need that which I've been asked to leave other places if I brought my 1 year old. I got a gel pedi and while it was expensive ($50) it's beautiful. Two of the nails popped off a few days later and they immediately fixed it for me when I stopped by to ask and show them. They have more colors than most salons. Their busy though so I suggest making appointments but they don't make you wait too long for walk ins. read more
