I have been to hair.comb before and absolutely love the hair cuts, but if you are thinking about getting your hair dyed, especially blonde- be very carefully who you decide to see (not Misty). My hair turned out completely patchy and orange on the top- after the fact, the stylist said she was going into it "blind" and had never done this kind of coloring before, and that she didn't feel bad about it... (really wish I would have known that beforehand). She even re did the toner, and it looked the exact same, she suggested I just part my hair differently to hide the orange... Additionally- rather than balayage or foiling she just painted my whole head with lightner.. I now have to get corrective coloring done at another salon. The manager did refund me and was very professional however. Good place for cuts not color! read more

I received such a terrible haircut from Misty today that I am wondering if the other reviewers were paid for their reviews. The haircut I received is significantly shorter than I asked for and the cut is not at all what I described. I asked for my bangs to be trimmed, half were cut and the rest were left long. I asked for layers, I received one tiny layer. After the cut was complete, Misty began to chastise me, telling me I should have cut my hair sooner and that I should bring a photo next time. She offered to fix my hair within a week if I was unhappy, but I am too scared to let her touch it again. I recommend staying away from hair.comb, go somewhere else. I went to get the cut fixed the next day at another salon and was told that the cut was not even straight! read more

mMisty is the only good stylist, don't accept an appointment with anyone else. I went in a little while ago and I asked the stylist, that was not Misty, to give me a blunt cut slightly past my shoulders. I usually don't part my hair so cutting would be easy if it was parted down the middle. My stylist parted my hair on the left side and chopped it to my mid neck. When I put my hair up or pushed my hair back the hair on the right side was longer than the left and it was much shorter than I had asked for. Also didn't was my hair so it was cut while dry, leaving no room for improvement if my hair needed to be dried. I ended up walking up university way to a barber shop to get my hair fixed. This place is not worth all the money. read more

I usually cut my own hair, but decided to splurge a little and get a new cut. This place had the best Yelp score on the ave, and there's a reason for it. They were quick, made a good recommendation on style, did a fantastic job, and shampooed afterwards. Saw a lot of these reviews were from girls, but they do men's hair really well too. Only downside is the price, cut cost $30 here. I guess standard around the ave is $20-30 though, so you pay for the quality. Would definitely recommend if you're fairly price insensitive about your hair. read more

I have been to Hair[dot]comb twice now to get my haircut and eyebrows done, both times by Rebecca. She did a great job on my brows. I have very oddly shaped brows, one of them being particularly wonky, but by the time she had meticulously waxed, trimmed, and plucked, they were even and nice looking! For the hair cut, again she did a great job. I gave a somewhat vague description of what I wanted (I honestly didn't have too much in particular in mind), but she made sure to clarify so that we both agreed on how much to cut off the ends. She also asked before giving me some face framing layers in the front. I think she is very good at communicating and making sure she gives you what you want, and is careful to make sure she doesn't cut off more than you were ready for. Definitely something to be appreciated in a stylist. In the end my cut looked great and Rebecca styled it really cute. If you are looking for a talented and friendly stylist, I would definitely recommend Rebecca! She really did a great job on both my hair and brows, and I left the salon feeling good. read more

I have been getting my hair cut by the same woman for several years, but after coming to the University of Washington, she was no longer convenient. I was nervous to try a new place for fear of my hair getting butchered, but after talking to my cousins, who have both had their hair cut here, that this was my best bet. They also had a coupon in the UW Survival Guide. Ultimately, by experience was excellent. The woman who cut my hair was very kind and talkative, and she did an excellent job. I have long wavy hair, but wanted some new layers, so I brought in a picture. She managed not to take more off the length than necessary, and I got the layers I wanted. She even offered to do any minor changes for free within the next week if need be. I will definitely be returning here for my next hair cut! read more

I was just looking for a trim and some slight fix-ups of my layers and my stylist Lindsey did a great job and was super friendly. It bothers me when you go to get your hair "trimmed" and it ends up more of a "cut," so I appreciated her carefulness to not cut more than necessary but still manage to get every split end! My friend saw Misty for a full cut - she has thick curly hair and Misty did a great job lightening it up and thinning it out. The staff were all really friendly and had plenty of helpful hair advice to give, and we got appointments easily on a Friday afternoon, though I don't know about the ease of walking in. The only thing was that both our cuts cost $30, and they didn't seem to have any sort of cheaper option for just a trim vs. a full cut. Great place for all your hair needs! read more

I love this place! Specifically, I love Misty, who gives consistently great haircuts. Every time I think I've found someone I can depend on, they let me down with a bad haircut after the 2nd or 3rd time. But Misty is always great. She takes her time, listens (!) to what I want, talks to me about what she thinks would work, and then does exactly what she says. Also she's incredibly nice and fun to talk with. Hands down the most personable stylist I've gone to. Add to that this this place is a lot less expensive than many place I have gone (yet results in better hair!). I just went here for the first time today and had a great experience!! I was going for a totally new and different haircut, and Jaque (pronounced Jackie) was my hairdresser. I came in with a rough idea of what I wanted and she helped me clarify and decide on the exact style. She was super friendly and nice! She went slow and kept checking in with me during the haircut on length and style. At the end she even spent time going over styling tips, product types to use, and techniques/ideas, which was super awesome since I've never had a cut like this before (very short, a kind of pixie undercut) Overall a perfect haircut experience! Misty is great. I was getting my long hair trimmed and She constantly checked on the length and shape to make sure it was looking good. She's really friendly and funny. Although it did sting a little bit when I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair to be like and she said "honey I'm gonna be honest with you, you don't have this much hair" but I appreciate the honesty. I have been going to this salon since they opened. The service is excellent. The staff is friendly. The prices are reasonable and the hair cuts are always consistently great. The trick with this place is to book early, so you can get in when you want. Once I spaced getting an appointment, my hair got too long and Easter was coming. Unfortunately they couldn't fit me in. I went to a chain place, Hair Masters. The gal cutting my hair actually told me "My manager never lets me blend" Thankfully Anne was able to fit me in a few days later to fix the massive screw-up! I was very nervous coming in for a haircut, but my stylist Bernae did an amazing job! Bernae listened extremely carefully to what I wanted and was very patient when I was explaining; really took the time to understand what kind of haircut I was looking for. For the actual haircutting process, Bernae explained each move and made sure I was comfortable with each step before proceeding (which is perfect seeing as I didn't want too much being cut off) I ended up with a fabulous layered haircut that was shiny and full of movement.
