They have a huge sushi menu here. No pictures though, so be prepared to read and to have a hard time making a decision! I've been here a couple of times now when I traveled down to Covington for business. They're pretty quiet on the weeknights, but they look like they're a good place for families and large parties, as most hibachi grills are. I went for the sushi. I had the Phoenix roll, which was really pretty spicy with the raw jalapeño on it. I really enjoyed the Dweeb roll, and the Happy roll is great if you like eel and crawfish. I went with that one since I normally don't see crawfish in the rolls back home. I'm a big fan of the raw sushi rolls and non-battered rolls, and they definitely had several choices available for me. The interior looks trendy, and they have a couple of TVs on the wall so you can catch a game if there's one on. For some reason I had terrible cell phone service in there, so I couldn't really do the normal business traveler thing where I keep to myself and read my phone while I eat dinner. They had a free, password protected WiFi broadcasting, but I didn't bother to ask for a password to connect. They had a full bar, but it didn't look like they had a huge selection of liquor on the shelf. They, of course, had sake and appeared to have a decent wine selection for a sushi place (i.e. more than just plum wine). They're also open a little later (10pm) than many of the other places (9pm) in the area. Overall, I liked this place and would go again. read more

I really do like this place. It has really awesome food. We don't often go there but we do go there on special traditions. I really love Chinese food. It's my favorite. read more

We walked in and were greeted well. We ate Hibachi. The place was clean. Food was good but the rice was over cooked. We had Cajun rolls. OMG! Nice staff. Friendly people. Overall nice place to have hibachi. read more

Our favorite sushi place on the Northshore. The ingredients are so fresh, and they have a great variety of rolls.

Haiku - Sushi Bars Near Me - Covington, Louisiana

Ordered takeout from them a month ago and the food was awful. Ended up getting food poisoning.

We tried this restaurant due to its good reviews and we weren't disappointed. The atmosphere was comfortable and trendy and restaurant was clean. The burning man roll was fresh and tasty and the hibachi was delicious. Our chef was friendly and entertaining. My only complaint was we were slightly rushed to place orders/ pay check. Happy to see them on Waitr too! read more

My wife and I eat at Haiku very frequently. The food is always good and the quality is a lot very good! I enjoy all of the sushi and the hibachi is very good as well! The prices are also very reasonable! I highly recommend Haiku! read more

I was surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet because I go quite frequently. However, I typically get the same thing.... the Erica bowl. Although it's only an appetizer it's definitely enough as a meal. It's amazing! I've tried a few of the rolls before and they are fine (haven't had anything special), and I haven't tried the hibachi yet. The restaurant itself is very pretty, and I love how they bring you soup before your meal. The first time I ever came here I thought the service was really awkward. We had about 4 different people serve us throughout the 45 minutes we were there. We felt rushed bc towards the end they were trying to take our drinks away lol. However, the last time I went I was alone and I sat at the sushi bar. The service was great and friendly!! I left in such a good mood! read more

The best food I've ever eaten in Covington, LA! It's a little small inside, but it's well worth it! If you've eaten in Hammond, LA at Kirin you'll never go back there. Haiku is the place to eat. If you like good noodles and Ginger dressing..... Lawd! Come here and eat!! read more

I love sushi and I love the comfort of going to a trusted spot. So when I saw Haiku I was not over-motivated to try "the new place." However, I am soooo glad I did. First, the decor is awesome. It's bright, clean, and not gawdy. The colors are vibrant. Then, the service is exceptional. You only wait a short time before you are eating, and I mean a short time. Finally, the food is awesome. We ordered 8 rolls and each was substantial. Everything was fresh and well presented. There is no negative about Haiku... And we got to bogart a hibachi show without ordering hibachi. Excellent dinner and show read more

OMG I love this place! It is so low key and chill in there and they have amazing service. Food was amazing and I enjoyed my roll so much! My friends and I got the veggies udon noodles and it was so big and a perfect size to share between the three of us. Also, it's so hard to find a place with amazing or favorful clear soup. I have found the best one ladies and gentlemen. I highly recommend coming here it was so die for! read more

The food has gone way down hill! I wouldn't recommend eating here, we got a large take out order today and the food was not what it used to be. All of the rolls with avocado were super brown. Everything has gone up in price and down in size. read more

I took my daughter and 3 friends here for a birthday dinner. This was my 3rd visit. In the past, I was not very impressed. However, tonight's meal at the Hibachi table was fantastic. I am not sure if ownership or chefs changed recently. The food was excellent! Well flavored and plentiful. My daughter and her friends were highly entertained by our chef. The waitstaff was very welcoming and attentive. I am so excited to have a great Hibachi restaurant in my area. read more

I've never been to the restaurant but I get their hibachi steak and chicken delivered all the time and it is sooo good. The steak is always cooked right and everything is always great. My only complaint is I always put "lots and lots of yum yum" but they never send enough UPDATE: I didn't realize there was a way to add more sauce to your order on waitr, so now I've got all the yum yum I need. And the owner even sent me extra! My favorite hibachi place on the northshore! read more

This place is awesome!! We came on a Friday evening at 7:30 even with a full house service was great, food was amazing and came out very fast. We ordered the Hibachi dinner chicken and steak and loved it! read more

Amazing sushi and excellent service! I order from Haiku frequently, and am never disappointed. If you've got a craving for something fresh and delicious, I recommend Haiku 100%! read more

The service was good. The place itself was very nice, pretty and clean. The sushi was alright and by alright I mean, I can't complain because the price was lower than usual for sushi. I think the sushi was too mushy for my taste. Like I said, not bad for the price. Maybe their hibachi is better than the sushi. Will try next time. read more

I'm going to start this off by saying maybe I shouldn't be so dumb and should probably speak up for myself more often, but in this situation we were both at fault I guess, but I'm still going to share. I've ordered takeout from here multiple times and every time I tip. I ordered last night and when I went to pick it up the woman behind the counter told me it was $30, I handed her two 20 dollar bills. As far as I know they do not add their own gratuity or at least never have before. She puts my money in the register and it shows on the screen that she owes me $10. I'm 18 so I'm assuming she saw a teenager and just immediately thought I wasn't going to tip and decided to tip herself $5, but I had already put a tip in the tip jar. But of course it didn't register in my head that she didn't give me the right amount of change until I grabbed my food and was walking out and due to my social anxiety I couldn't speak up and say something. I blame myself for not saying anything and went back and forth on writing this review or not, but ultimately decided to because regardless of if I spoke up or not they should say that they add their own gratuity or give me the right amount of change back. read more

We moved here from California and have been searching for a really good sushi bar. We love it here! We were very impressed with the quality and prices of the fish. Highly recommend ahi tuna . We will be back often! read more

Who can explain Covington LA and why such a gem of a sushi bar exists here? Had a spectacular sashimi lunch. What I have discovered in my travels is that when a good sushi place is located where it should not be and you order something exotic the chefs go bonkers. All of the locals at the place (busy lunch hour)were wolfing down California rolls, hibachi and tempura--I was the only one that ordered the raw bait plate. It was just incredible. Five stars for this place, if you are making an I-10 pilgrimage that takes you past the Covington exit, lunch or dinner cannot be beat at Haiku. Keep in mind that NOLA and the GoM are less than an hour away so their stuff is FRESH! read more

The sushi here was very good but the service was terrible from the moment we walked in. The closest person to us just pointed in the direction of the table they wanted us to sit at., nothing friendly or helpful about the waitress. Never asked if we were good or needed drink refills. Awful! Messed up on settling the bill. While the food was good it was no where near good enough to make up for the awful service. Will not return read more

Just recently moved to Covington from Baton Rouge and was in search of a new sushi place to dine at. Unfortunately had to get sushi to go but it was delicious. I got the sushi dinner for 2, mandeville roll, blue fairy, cucumber and seafood salad. Definitely will be back and can't wait to actually be able to dine with y'all! read more

One of our favorite sushi restaurants on the Northshore. We order from them several times a month. Our food is always delicious!

Delicious. I had the lobster roll, gyoza, and edamame. Wife had the Baja roll and kids had the steak hibachi. All just right.

The only place in Covington worth getting Sushi from! Try the Cajun Roll, it's the best! read more

Ordered sushi (3 rolls and a snow crab salad) togo. Upon delivery, the cucumber tasted rancid. Tossed it out and attempted to salvage the rest of the meal. Woke up to extreme stomach pains and other less desirable food poisoning symptoms. Attempted to get in touch with a manager several times (once I recovered), and it was to no avail. read more

This is the best Hibachi place I had so far in New Orleans / North Shore area! The Cook was extremely entertaining, the food was delicious and the waiters very polite and attentive. read more

Ordered my lunch off of DoorDash Bc I don't have a car currently, but upon getting my food I was impressed. That was until I opened my box of food... my steak hibachi was literally dryer than the Sahara dessert and only like 5-6 cut up pieces of steak. The food literally taste like it was all frozen then thrown into a pan to heat up then sent out on a plate. I am disgusted and will not EVER make that mistake twice. Especially when Kim's charges $4 less and gives you 3x the food.. which is seasoned and cooked how you actually ask it to be cooked. read more

This is my 2nd time here. They have a 10.00 lunch special that includes soup, salad and your choice of 2 sushi rolls. They give you a lot of choices not like other places. The soup is clear soup. They also have fresh wasabi which is delish. Ask for it. Rolls are great! Service great! Give it a try. read more

This place has had hibachi but only if you sit at the real hibachi table, if you sit at the regular tables and don't have them cool it in front of you it's awful my friends steak was hard and my chicken gave me food poisoning 10/10 don't recommend anymore read more

Good Sushi, and the decor is nice, thats all I can say positive. Had diner last night and ordered the Teriyaki Chicken. It tasted and looked like it was out of a Lean Cuisine frozen meal. The fried rice was the worse I have ever tasted. Told the waitress and she could care less. read more

This is my favorite sushi place on the North Shore. Great prices for some of the freshest sushi around. They have fast service and the staff are always warm and friendly. So I had previously rated Haiku as a solid 5 stars. Sushi was fresh and top quality. However, the last 2-3 orders we have placed (via waiter) have been sub par at best. I'd put the last few rolls slightly behind what you get next door at Winn Dixi, and at least the Winn Dixi rolls are a little bigger... We have been ordering/going here for almost 2 years and sadly this last order will be it for us. Quality has been poor at best for the price. Guess I need to find a new sushi place. O well... read more
