The gentleman who checked me out was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I ordered the spring rolls, Tom Kha Gai, and the chicken Pad Thai. The spring rolls just weren't my favorite, but that's a matter of personal preference. The Tom Kha Gai, however, completely made up for it. It was, without a doubt, the best soup I've ever had in my life. Rich, creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Pictures truly don't do it justice. I can't stop thinking about it. The chicken Pad Thai was also really good with generous portions and great flavor. Everything was packaged well for takeout and was still fresh when I got home. I'll definitely be back, especially for that Tom Kha Gai. It's worth ordering all by itself!

The red curry is my go-to, and I always ask them to crank up the heat a bit, which they do perfectly. Great food, great people, and easily one of my favorite spots in Covington. Best Thai on the Northshore that I've found

It's a very nice establishment so when they do open for seating again I anticipate it being packed. I was a life long Californian & moved to a very tiny town in Mississippi and have not had Thai food in 2.5 years; I was passing through Mandeville yesterday and decided to try and find a Thai restaurant. I am thrilled Ploy's Kitchen Thai Cafe popped up on my search. The woman at the counter - also the cook - was so sweet. I don't eat meat and she said everything could be made meat free and with tofu if I wanted. She even asked if egg was ok before she made anything. They make everything fresh and to order. I knew I wanted Pad Thai since it's a favorite but I wanted something that was a speciality of this restaurant. She recommended the Khao Soi. The Khao Soi is DELICIOUS. I think I found my new favorite Thai dish. Both the Pad Thai (also very delicious, I will get this again too) and Khao Soi were generous portions. Everything was very reasonably priced. I also got the spring rolls. They were so good. The sauce was unique from what I'm used to having in California and I actually liked it so much better. I think it would make a great salad dressing. Overall, I cannot say enough good things about Ploy's Kitchen. It is positively worth going and I told my husband I WILL go out of my way and drive the hour and a half from home to get Thai food from here at least a few times a year.

The prices are Very reasonable-especially when contrasted with other places that charge full price but then short the customer on quality. It's been so good that I've had the opportunity to notice perfection in the sushi preparation down to detail like-color, temperature, the exact seasoning of the rice and it's clingy but not smooshed grains. Seriously, I would not hesitate to take a gourmet here. The rolls are Huge for one person- averaging $13 and so it's good to know you'll love the ingredients for 10 big bites, no less usually. But on the upside there's no guessing the special roll menu is two sides of a legal pad sized paper, laminated and the servers never hassle you to hurry up making your mind what you want. The rolls we've tried and love best are LSU, Saints, Kambodja, Mandeville, Water Dragon, Fire Dragon, Hot Mama and Bang Bang. It's hard to say what is best on their menu but we've also sampled the Chicken Katsu-very, very good.
