It's really unfortunate because this place has great food, but there seems to be no sense of urgency when it comes to service. I came in for lunch around 1:00 p.m. and ended up waiting over 45 minutes for a single sushi roll. By the time my food was ready, I had to take it to go because I no longer had time to eat. It also took about 15 minutes just to get a glass of water. I made the mistake of sitting at the sushi bar, where I felt completely overlooked. The quality of the food is excellent, but the extremely slow service made for a very disappointing experience. Even if the roll takes a little time to prepare, none of the wait staff informed me of that. read more

This is a great sushi spot in Covington! While I was really cold throughout my meal, I really enjoyed my meal. The inside is cute too, and they have dining on their wraparound porch as well! The calamari was delicious and served with such a tasty sauce that my friend and I were basically fighting over. Our waitress was very attentive and apologized for our sushi taking a long time; which was weird because it wasn't that busy. My favorite roll of the three we ordered was the surf and turf roll. The beef on it was just so delicious. I also liked the futomaki a lot. I ordered the Bordeaux roll for myself- the pickled wasabi shines through! There was some bitter taste to it though, and I I couldn't put my finger on it. Like maybe it was cilantro. Either way, I'd definitely go back if not just for the surf and turf roll! read more

We've been hearing about this place since we moved to the north shore so we finally decided to give it a try. All I have to say is "wow." Located in an old, restored home, we decided to grab a spot at the bar indoors despite the ample outdoor seating. The decor inside is trendy and well done and there's plenty of seating at both the bar and the actual sushi bar, or at one of many tables in the two dining rooms. Our friendly and knowledgeable bartender took our drink orders and answered a few questions we had about several of their menu items, and recommended a couple things for us to try. Everything we had was delicious and this is easily the best sushi we've had since moving to the north shore from Southern California last year. We've finally found our "go to" sushi spot. read more

The chicken teriyaki was delicious and had high quality meat. The edamame was plentiful, which was good as the rolls were slower coming out than items from the kitchen. It's a great place to see familiar faces and hang out for an evening. read more

All of the food here is superb. I ordered the filet mignon for dinner and it came with the best vegetables fried rice I have ever had. The steak was cooked perfect and very flavorful. It also came with a house salad & I chose the sesame dressing as suggested by our knowledgeable server. That salad is so flavorful, and had delicious textures. 10/10. Highly recommend. The atmosphere is far from boring and we loved the ambiance. Very fun!! read more

Came from California and had to try this new hotspot absolutely loved it. The sushi was the freshest sushi I've ever had in my life. Coming from California I wasn't expecting to be so impressed. We absolutely love sushi and we're open to trying anything so we let the sushi chef create and surprise us and he created masterpieces. They were absolutely delicious melting your mouth with New Orleans flavor that just popped sweet spicy absolutely the best I've ever had in my life. we also got some brussels sprouts as an appetizer and they were so delicious. My husband was licking the plate. They had a Vietnamese coffee crème brûlée dessert that just topped our meal one of the best meals we've had Ever. We were here twice already within two weeks of each other. We like sitting at the bar and both Jacob (from Croatia) and Chelsea were fantastic. Jacob makes a great Espresso martini. On our second visit, Chelsea served a great frozen sake margarita. We enjoyed RYU, Boudreaux, Hempster rolls. They were nice and light, low rice. The spicy edamame both times was fantastic. Best sushi on the Northshore in my opinion! Literally everything on the menu is good. My favorites is RYU, Wolverine and OBD roll. On Tuesdays they do a $10 special where you get a Margarita and margarita roll, both for $10. You cannot beat it! read more

It was just okay. It took us about 30 minutes to get our sushi, and it tasted off. A little like they're trying to be edgy, but it's not. The best description was, "this tastes like an American tried to make sushi." Also, they bring one condiment cup for a table of 4 which seems unsanitary. I wasn't impressed by this place. This place is very non traditional and it felt like "American sushi" instead of authentic. Way too commercial for me. I'm a quarter Japanese and so I always prefer more traditional sushi. If it ain't broke, dont fuck with it. If you go with a group of people, don't expect to all eat at the same time. They do warn you on the menu about this cus they have two separate kitchens or something. They could still orchestrate service properly. I wouldn't recommend this place. Aki is literally down the road and it's fire. And Sake Garden is way better also. Don't waste ur money! read more

I went here because the owner is an old friend of mine from high school. I saw she opened this z few years ago and decided to give it a try on date night with my wife. It did not disappoint. The food was excellent. My wife said that her Charmango roll was the best roll she ever had. My two rolls were excellent as well, they were Futomaki and Spicy Salmon. I also had the squid salad. The dessert was to die for. My wife had s coffee crème brûlée and I had the gingerbread pudding. So delicious. The bartender made some excellent drinks and was great on selections. Very nice young lady. Great hire Fancy. All in all a wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend. read more

Wow! Definitely one of my top ten meals ever! Went with two girlfriends with one thought in mind-to order the Brussels sprouts another friend had raved about. Our server, Paige, was great about accommodating my gluten allergy and, after checking with the kitchen, informed me the sprouts unfortunately have gluten. Major bummer. THEN, I tasted the Scallopeno!!! No words for how tasty each bite was. I asked them to go light on a jalapeños and it had just enough fire. The beet puree adds a subtle smoky flavor that was surprising. Seared scallops, crab meat, avacado, black tobiko! This dish was outstanding and I can't wait to have it again. My friends did order the Brussels sprouts and raved about them. Paige let me know several of the dishes can be adapted to exclude gluten. I really appreciated how knowledgeable she was about cross-contamination in the fryer and elsewhere. We heard good things about this spot, but my husband and I did not have a good experience at all. Our waitress was kind, but she could definitely tell something shifted once she brought out our food. The food quality was so poor, as pictured (salmon skin roll was absolute mush, and the other rolls' contents were a joke, After tip, our bill was $90 for 4 rolls that were pathetic and one appetizer. Great service from Gwen!! Love the indoor or outdoor seating. We happen in on a day where it was breezy and beautiful in August! we sat outside and had the whole porch to ourselves. One of the best sushi restaurants on the Northshore. The atmosphere is great for a fun night out with friends. There is music playing throughout the place so you feel you can have conversations without bothering anyone. The sushi was fresh and the specialty rolls are adventurous. There are more basic selections but the menu is really geared toward fun flavors rather than simple execution. The staff were some of the most attentive out of any restaurant in Covington.
