Once the company got wind of the issues, one of the Executive Directors of the company quickly responded and resolved the issue I had. Clayton is a class act, and I appreciate his professionalism and commitment to making things right on top ensuring my heating and duct systems were installed and balance for efficiency but optimum performance. The installers were great also, they were knowledgeable, respectful of my house and property, and solved some complex issues with my system. I will defiantly use them in the future! I bought my heater through Costco, which partners with Haddon to perform the estimate and installation. My friend had recommended the Costco/Haddon program based on her positive experience. Pricing-wise, Haddon was competitive. In terms of service, Haddon is top notch. After contacting Costco, Haddon followed with me almost immediately (like minutes later). The estimator Dennis who came out was friendly and professional. I later had some special requests, which he readily accommodated. The scheduler was likewise excellent. The installation took took a better part of the day. The installers, Mau and Wyatt, were professional and helpful. The installation looks clean and they cleaned up after they were done. I liked the fact that all of the people who came to my house (Dennis, Mau and Wyatt) observed COVID-19 safety protocols. If you're looking for a new heater installation, you should consider the Costco/Haddon program. read more

We contracted Haddon for our HVAC upgrade through Home Depot. Summary: they were much cheaper than the other vendors we talked to and had pretty sharp sales, but, sadly, you get what you pay for. We were new homeowners to an old Marin home with some layout challenges that had an old HVAC installation that wasn't to code, had asbestos, etc... The beginning went well: Haddon was the first with a creative idea on how to redesign the HVAC system up to code & add AC. Other reputable HVAC vendors suggested similar approaches, so I felt the approach was validated, and Haddon underbid them significantly. Note, I'm writing the review from the perspective of having spent a significant amount on an install that was supposed to last for years. If this was a job for a few hundred bucks, you could argue a lot of these issues wouldn't be such a big deal. Low lights: 1) Terrible handoff of the project to the installation crew + setting expectations with us. The crew wasn't given consistent directions from the project coordinator (aka sales guy) and made pretty big mistakes * Outdoor AC unit was put on the wrong side of the house and had to be moved. Wouldn't be a big deal if they didn't make cuts in the house walls to do the installation. * They put an unplanned ugly in-room duct across the walls to the bathroom that wasn't otherwise reachable that had to be removed. We had a gnarly hole in the walls for a couple of weeks until the dry-wall contractor was available to patch it up. 2) Sloppy placement of duct vents. Again, ok if this was a one-off. But I expected more from a big project. Kitchen duct vent right above the stove where the oven hood would be installed. Asymmetric vent installation for vaulted ceilings. Some duct vents were screwed in so tight we can't use the handle to adjust open / close. That said, I have to call out the good too: * They were so far quick to respond and fix the above issues. Could have been worse and they could have tried to redirect blame / refuse responsibility. * Dry wall sub-contractor they work with did a solid job. It was part of the project so that was nice too. So, the sales and project proposal were done well (you have to get the business to grow ;)), but the rest of the execution left a bad taste in my mouth. In particular, as I kept discovering issues, it left me with this idea that I can't trust the work product fully. Summary: Would I go with them again? Well, the cost difference was quite nice. One lesson learned is that this particular contractor / job type requires much more hands on oversight & presence than other vendors we have worked with. We've had others that executed and communicated very well end to end and I let my guard down - although that's still not an excuse for sloppy execution & project management. read more

where do I start, I went through HD to buy a new AC unit since my old one was 30yrs. and the local company kept telling me it was time to get a new unit. so I jumped in, contacted HD who sent this company to do the install. I spent 21k on a new unit and all new duct work. the first issue came when I noticed not all the duct work had been replaced. I called the company to complain that all the duct work had not been replaced. They sent someone out then told me I didn't request to have the return duct replaced. I told the person I wanted all the duct work replaced and would never say I didn't want the 30yr old ducts not replaced. the building department passed the inspection although the old duct was not replaced. Since it's instillation I've had air flow issues. Recently, when I turned on the air conditioner, it wasn't cooling And very little air was coming out of vents. While the air conditioner ran, the temp increased. I called Haddon, they will void my warranty if anyone else touches anything, they sent a man out who found the problem quickly. The old non replaced return tube collapsed do to the suction of the new unit. He took out the filter from inside the house and cut a hole in the side of the return tube, that now pulls in dirty air from under the house. Yesterday my daughter came into my room to show me a 3"beetle that came up from the vent through the crawl space. I didn't know I had beetles under there, I know there are frogs, which I don't mind because they eat bugs. I have sent two emails wanting to know when they are going to fix this. As of this writing, I have no response. It's been 3 weeks since the haddon service man was here. read more

While the AC unit and new furnace the team installed worked great there are several parts of the services that drive me to give this low review. We reviewed a Home Depot and a Costco option for our installation and chose Home Depot becuase of a fairly significant rebate card promotion they offered. The rebate card has not showed up 5 months later. I've followed up with our rep several times who was only able to add the card should take 4-6 weeks and we are far out of that range at this point. We paid to get a permit which I have followed up on several times but have still not seen. Again, it's been 5 months. The installation crew broke a chair that was part of a set. They kindly offered a replacement chair. The chair they brough over does not match the old one. Not the end of the world but another annoyance in an already flawed experience. read more

Antheny provided us with detailed updates on their work at the end of each day, they cleaned up well each day, and Antheny gave us a thorough walk through of our system when the work was complete. We had a new A/C installed and our heater replaced. They did a great job. Our installers were Saul, Jesus, and Andrew. They cleaned up after themselves. We had an issue with not being able to put the new heater where the old one was due to our house being very old and they came up with a couple options. And they even pet my dog each morning so she would stop barking to go say hi. read more

Get the quote from Homedepot and referred to this HVAC company. Their CS is always responsive. Mau and TJ were the technicans to install the new furnace, they are polite, professional and effective. We received an estimate from the sales person at Haddon for HVAC replacement. It was a much better price than the other estimates we got, so we made the $1,000 deposit to accept the offer. When the installers showed up, they were unable to even start the job-- basically the salesperson made impossible promises, not accounting for the structure of our home. The owner Kim Haddon then offered us other options at much higher prices. We declined those offers, and asked for our $1,000 deposit to be returned. I emailed and called multiple times over 2-3 months. Never got it back. We never even got an explanation, only promises that someone would get back to us. He was extremely personable to be around. Initially, there were a few communication glitches, but Drew handled my concerns very respectfully and discounted the estimate to ensure my satisfaction. I was able to talk to him during the installation, and he patiently answered all my questions. The technicians were very respectful. They worked until 7:30 pm on the first day to make sure the outside and electrical installation was complete. After the installation, a technician explained how to operate the new system in detail. We found them through Home Depot and Will the sales guy was great. He was willing to work with us a bit on price and actually got us the AC unit we needed at a budget friendly price we could manage. The instal went smoothly and we are happy to be cool on the hot days. The only reason this is a *** rating and not a ***** rating is that AFTER the installation, I have tried to contact them on numerous occasions, leaving multiple voice messages regarding some questions about the install and permit issues and have not received a call back. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family but do think the customer service call back aspect has some room for improvement. read more

The workers who did the install of my HVAC were very nice. My issue is that the company is wildly disorganized and unprofessional. My neighbor had a very similar experience. they were out of stock initially on a furnace. I only found out about this the morning they were scheduled to begin, after I took off work and rearranged my entire week. Getting an update and finding a solution took an act of god it seemed. installation went well, but they left a hole in one of my walls that still is not fixed almost a year later! They promised they'd send someone out after I called many times! They also were supposed to send me 2 extra filters. Never got them. They did send someone out eventually, who adjusted the vents but showed up with no filters or tools to fix the wall? They were very diligent in calling and reprimanding me to sign papers that the install was done. The very rude woman talked to me like I was stupid for being concerned that the job was not done (and still isn't by the way)! Against my better judgment and as I suspected, once I signed they disappeared with no response. Flash forward and I can't even get the state inspection done! Bottom line? If you have an assistant who can dedicate 20 hours per week to staying on top of them, they MAY get things done and MAY respond in a timely and professional manner. If you're not in the "I have an assistant" category, then I suggest staying far clear of this company! read more

Avoid them at all cost. Botched and unsafe job that broke the heater the first time it was used. We purchased a brand new high efficiency AC and heater from them a few weeks ago and paid almost $14,000 for the appliances and installation service. Let these pictures speak for the quality of the job they provided us leaving us without heat mid fall. They damaged the brand new furnace and performed faulty and very poor labormanship. I would recommend Haddon Heating and Cooling for any HVAC work needed. Haddon was very professional and did great work on sizing, planning, and installing a new hybrid electric Heat Pump and gas Furnace system, intake duct, and wiring in my home during a period of 2 days. Their techs were on time and their work was excellent and they made minimal mess and cleaned up after they finished each day. Due to my separate purchase of a new NEST thermostat that arrived broken, they had to use my existing thermostat which only allowed the Heat Pump and Furnace to work independently. After some research on smart thermostats, I returned the broken NEST and purchased an Ecobee Smart Thermostat (which has better manufacturer support and customer reviews). Due to COVID and staff shortages, Haddon was finally able to schedule another tech to come to my house and install and set up the Ecobee Smart Thermostat and configure it and the Heat Pump and Furnace hybrid system to communicate and work efficiently to save $. read more

We chose Haddon through Costco after a friendly rep came by and gave us a great estimate. We got a new furnace, new duct work, and A/C installed in April 2021, all went very smooth and on time. The units all seem to work great. There was a small hiccup with the installers leaving some work undone with the roof and patch work, but that was semi-quickly fixed. Then the nightmare began. Getting the work permitted with our city destroyed any goodwill and positive experience with Haddon. The paperwork was incorrect, not reflecting the new ductwork, which spiraled into over a year's worth (and yes, the problem is STILL continuing after a failed appointment today) of missed appointments, miscommunication, and lack of follow-through. "Fun" experiences include not showing up to meet the city inspector (2-3 times), misfiled permit paperwork, both city inspectors and Haddon employees showing up without any idea why they were at our home, 2 opposite answers from 2 reps regarding some required testing, a Haddon employee hanging out at our home for 3 hours waiting for the city inspector who never showed up because Haddon didn't pay the inspection fee, among others. Every experience ends with the same result: a reschedule and a letdown. I got a very apologetic after the failed third or fourth attempt at getting the permit finalized: "We are taking this incident seriously. Once it was discovered, we took appropriate measures to ensure it will not happen again in the future." That was 2 failed inspections ago. I feel like I'm stuck in a sisyphean nightmare. I really didn't want to leave a review like this because it all started so well, but I have lost all confidence in Haddon to make this right at this point, and this really feels like my last resort. So, in summary, easy install, good product, but make sure they get the paperwork right from the get-go or you'll be the middleman between Haddon and your city permit office forever. read more

We had Haddon install our furnace 15 years ago and we set upa plan for them to come every year in the Fall to service the furnace. After a few years they stopped doing that service. This week our furnace wouldn't come on so I called Haddon. I was told that someone would return my call by the next day. It's been 3 days and still no call. I called a different company and they came out on the same day and diagnosed that it was a gas valve that needed to be replaced. I guess Haddon has too many customers and don't need any more. Wow. What a difference a year and a cleared check make! My positive coerced Yelp review from last year (the tech said to please mention his name so he would get $100 in new tools from Haddon) was made before my heat and AC ceased working multiple times. Eleven different service visits later, and our system is blowing cold air on a freezing cold day. Haddon sent someone out earlier this week. He could not help us and basically said I don't know who installed this or how they got under your house but I'm not crawling under there. Today the system won't turn on hot or cold air. What do they say, "sorry, we can't help you until 12/27. Get a space heater. " Do not use this company. I cannot tell you how much aggravation and regret we have about the $12,000 spent on this nightmare experience. During the install in 2020, they accidentally unplugged our freezer and we were left with a mess and no food for thanksgiving (they did reimburse us but I had to scramble to get food the night before thanksgiving) and this year no heat for Christmas. Haddon installers, Antonio and Gabriel, did a wonderful job in installing our A/C. They were respectful of our home and were professional. They arrived wearing masks, which is important, especially during COVID. They were also efficient as the instillation was completed in 1day! So far, it has passed the 1st test, and we are awaiting the final test from the city. Now that we are experiencing the 1st significant heat event this Memorial Day holiday, we are able to test the A/C ourselves, and it is working perfectly! The only downside was the coordination of the installation schedule. Haddon didn't notify us immediately that there were delays in the delivery of the A/C unit. UPDATE on June 1, 2021 I bought this house in 2016 and had the entire HVAC system replaced with a new one about a year later. It cost a lot, enough to buy a new car. Both the heat and cooling worked great ... until the warranty ran out. REPEAT: It worked great until the warranty ran out. It still runs great in the winter heating the house (knock on wood), but it doesn't cool the house on the hottest days and that heat is going to KILL me. REPAT: The heat is going to KILL me. That's when the problems started with the cooling part of the HVAC unit and each time I call, I have to pay for a service and it isn't cheap. That means every time I call, I have to make an appointment, wait for a few days or weeks, and pay for the repair ... that twice now hasn't worked. After the second call, I thought maybe it was my fault. I don't think that anymore. I'm not calling HADDON anymore and I'm seriously thinking about having the current HVAC system, or at least the thing outside the house replaced, but not with another AMERICAN MADE Rheem product. After having been burned by buying American made more once over the years, NO MORE! If I end up having the outside unit replaced, I'll look at products made in Japan or from Japanese companies. First Review posted a couple of weeks ago starts here: The new HVAC system Haddon installed back in 2017 wasn't cooling my house. I called and asked for a technician to come out on 5-7-21 and determine what was wrong. Haddon sent John Royce who inspected the system inside and outside and pointed out that there was nothing wrong with the unit. The problem was something else. It turns out that the outside unit (I think they call it the compressor) was turning itself off because of the quarter-inch-thick carbon filter I'd added in front of the regular one-inch-thick filter. The reason I added the carbon filter is that I have two portable HEPA air cleaners and they both come with carbon filters to freshen the scent of the inside air but they weren't enough for the entire house. John said the HVAC system had to work harder to pull air through that two-stage filter I'd created. The evidence was the proper filter was bowed like the HVAC system was trying to suck it into the ducts as vacuum cleaners do. When the unit worked that hard to move air through the filters and grew too hot, a safety feature shut the outside unit off so it could cool down instead of burn out. John suggested another filter that included carbon that would do the job to freshen the inside air. When I found it online, John verified it should do the job I wanted, to not only cool or heat the air but freshen the air, too. The HVAC system is working again and I'm going to order the filters that come with the carbon designed to not overheat the HVAC system. read more

Absolutely woeful after sales service. A month after shelling out a decent sum for our new Rheem tankless water heater the system failed. After half a dozen visits, requests for new parts and an inability to diagnose the problem, I just enjoyed ANOTHER COLD SHOWER. The final straw was a weekend visit from their technician. He sat down started leafing cluelessly through the manual and then left!! Didn't come to give me an update, or a report on status.. I went to check up on progress and he was gone. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I strongly urge you not to use this contractor. read more

Today they needed to come back because another contractor caused an issue with the system causing it to shut down.
