The owner or the manager of this restaurant was very very nice. The waiter was also very patient and very kind. The foods were superb, I ordered vegetarian queso with mushroom (quesabrosa vegetariana). My husband ordered 3 types of meats that he couldn't finish, so we brought it to hotel. I ordered the steak chilaquiles, which were tasty, and a kiwi strawberry lemonade that sounded refreshing but was difficult to drink as it had chunks of fruit and they kept clogging the straw. It wasn't sweet or tangy, watery yes. I added sugar and it made it worse haha. We ordered 6 waters that came in bottles, and one came already opened. When we pointed it out, the staff refused to take it back and still charged us for it, which was frustrating. While we waited, one of my friends, whose feet were swollen, briefly propped them up on a metal chair (which had no cushion and she was not wearing her shoes), a few seconds later, a staff member quickly told her to put them down and not in the nicest way. The (other) worst part was the wait for the bill. Despite asking for it with time to spare before some of us had to catch a flight, it took them 32 minutes to bring it (I counted). The restaurant wasn't even busy, yet the service was slow and inattentive throughout. In short: good food, but poor service, inflexible staff, and a lack of urgency, not ideal when dining at an airport in my opinion.

But he said I could check out here or there was also Guacamole Grill in terminal 2 where I was headed. Apparently he used to work there and said they're owned by the same people. Went with Berryhill just because they were closer and I was hungry. Street tacos and tamales are my go to's for Mexican food, so I went with the tamales (choice of 3 - pork/beef/chicken/beans/spinach & corn) for a little over 200 peso (~$10). Came with black beans, Mexican rice and mole sauce. Chicken was dry, beans were literally just black beans, and the spinach & corn ended up being pretty moist and yummy. They also brought over salsa verde and roja which I used rather liberally to compensate for how dry they were. The verde was very mild and tasted of bananas whereas the roja tasted like chipotle. The mole sauce was also pretty good, a little tangy. Overall, not the worst airport food I've had, but nothing memorable. It's about the same amount I would pay for airport food in the states, but it's expensive considering it's Mexico.

When I visited here, because it was so early in the morning, it was not at all my intention to order any alcohol. So I specifically asked for a virgin mango daiquiri. The server asked if I wanted tajin or sugar. Once I confirm tajin, I was soon surprised to see just how large the tall order of the virgin daiquiri drink was. After sitting at the bar, making friends with the bartender, as I watched him pour ounces of tequila and syrupy, margaritas, we had a friendly conversation, and then my check came. To my surprise that hour and a half of peace and sunlight cost me $30 instead of $8, because the server claimed that I ordered a daiquiri mango, not a virgin daiquiri. We went back and forth for quite some time until ultimately, I just gave in and paid because it did not seem as though any sort of resolution would be made. To say that I am displeased is an understatement, because you need to certainly confirm that someone is ordering alcohol or not. There's all sorts of risk at play by accidentally serving someone alcohol, might I add, there was not an apparent alcohol taste whatsoever in the drink. So the entire time I sat there, I thought it was a non alcoholic daiquiri. This was a sour ending to an otherwise, very relaxing solo vacation in Cancun. For $30 I could buy an entire bottle of Captain Morgan -- it makes 0 sense (in Caim math) to pay that much for an early morning daiquiri.

At the advice of our friend and the waiter we got several of the Pescadillas (fried fish tacos). The waiter explained that the fish was actually shark. The tacos are 28 pesos each, we each got 3. And they were delicious, we also ordered the Shrimp with garlic mojo. The shrimp was sooo good, as is in the name, it is very garlicky but very good. Just bring some gum. Taking into consideration the ambiance, food, and cost. This was one of the best restaurants we have visited during our stay. We'll be back.

Ordered an orange soda with my meal and I'm handed a can. Had to flag the server back to ask for a glass, ice and straw . (I thought I was ordering a drink at a sit down restaurant ugh). I wanted the ceviche that everyone raves about, however like every place here there is the hard TIP culture. I'm paying for the meal and tipping my server, yet I'm expected to tip this person separately. Many of us have exhausted our pesos before hitting this stage of the airport. I can't add a tip for the ceviche maker to my bill.... Oh well Served ribs with a plastic knife.. the heck are we supposed to do with that!!! I guess we just buy some alcohol and make the best of it.
