I was afraid the shrimp ceviche would be more of a snack, but it was so hearty that I couldn't finish it all. Margaritaville is one of the signature restaurants at the Cancun airport with lots of premium seating and a prime location that is near all the gates. We had an hour or two to spare, so my husband and I holed up with our drinks, and when a few friends with delayed trips decided to stop by, our servers happily allowed us to extend our table. Our margaritas were on point (way better than any watered down drink you get at an all-inclusive) and took away any pre-flight anxiety I may have had. We also grabbed some chicken quesadillas, wings, and fries to tide us over for our flight and while nothing special, it wasn't bad either (akin to a TGI Fridays). Service was great. Yay! I love when I can update a review with extra stars because this place definitely has improved since my last visit 8 years ago. My main issue with my previous review was the length of time for my food to arrive (about 50 minutes), which was not the case during my most recent visit. Foodwise, we went with a huge plate of nachos, and I had the restaurant's version of a Long Island Iced Tea (I think it was called Incommunicado). Our server Ruben was great, and the service was pretty fast for a busy day. Since the restaurant is inside an airport, you can expect extravagant prices, but that just goes with the territory. A restaurant in the departure waiting area at CUN airport. Not quite your typical one, but you are a captive audience so the price reflects that. It is large and we were seated on the outer edge on the aisle and next to the boarding line for a large Air Canada flight. Quite a loud environment. The food, although pricey, was pretty good. We had coconut shrimp with a shrimp skewer and a large grouper sandwich. The tap beer was a good addition to the meal.
