I like that when I do a mobile order the time isn't that far off, but they mess up orders quite a lot for the few times I have gone. They fixed things when I submitted something to their suggestion box but I don't want to be a Karen and do that every time they mess up an order. Tonight was another such time. That, and customer service training is severely lacking here. We got there and were behind a couple ordering at the cash register. Cashier is done with them and leaves, with me next in line, not knowing that I was a mobile order so no big deal to me--but also didn't say anything when he left. A lady was packing orders at the counter and we knew it was ours. She stuck it in the bag and left it there to work on other orders, instead of putting it on the pick up area for us to get. So we are literally staring at our bag for 10 minutes before I say is that order #1040? She looks at receipt and says my name then apologized for the wait. When I got home I ate my burger that was supposed to not have pickle and found it in there halfway through, whereas my son's burger had no pickle even though it was supposed to have pickle. Typical mixup. I'm not as bothered about the pickles but the cashier leaving without saying a word when it was obvious I was next in line. Poor customer service. Need basic training that maybe lack of management for budgetary reasons is causing. They seem understaffed. As the saying goes, cheap is expensive. read more

I was a little disappointed with my order from the Habit Burger this time around. I have been to this location several times, and the food and service has always been great. I placed an online order for a Charburger, a 1/2 and 1/2 order of French fries and tempura green beans, and kid's meal. The order was on time. However, the order was somewhat lukewarm and when I got home, the food was a little soggy. It did not seem fresh. I crave for The Habit like once a year and yesterday happened to be that day. My go to is always the ahi-tuna burger and their sweet potato fries. It hits everytime. They had a deal on their mobile app where if you purchase a drink, you get a free charburger. That was a no brainer! I got the strawberry lemonade which was very refreshing. Food was promptly ready when it said it would be and they prepared everything correctly, including having the right condiments which I find can be rare these days. This Habit Burger Grill location is always super clean! The tables and restrooms included. Even the little side bar with the peppers, chiles, and pickles is consistently clean and well stocked, which I really appreciate. Customer service today was 10 out of 10. The guy helping us was knowledgeable, quick, efficient, and genuinely friendly, which always makes the experience better. I tried the $10 Gotta Habit Meal, and it was such a good deal. It included a five piece chicken bite a half Santa Barbara Charburger with my side choice. You can choose between a side salad, fries, or the friedgreen tempura beans, and I went with the green beans, which honestly was such a great choice. Super filling and really good. This location did not disappoint! The previous reviews were spot on about this location being clean. There were also plenty of seating options to choose from. I was concerned about that prior to coming here, but was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. I placed my order in advance and it was ready by the time of my arrival. The lady at the counter made sure I got my order and advised me that my drink cups were inside. The food was delicious! I love a good char burger! I was disappointed with my last visit to The Hat, and I'm glad I made my switch to Habit! What made this visit extra enjoyable is that the nice lady (I wish I got her name!) from the counter brought us some delicious treats! It was totally unexpected and much needed on this hot day! Love the food here but today is the fourth time in ONE MONTH that they've messed up my order. The first three times, I ordered a veggie burger with cheese and the cheese was missing. Today, the cheese was there but the extra ranch I ordered was not. These seem like little things but over time, the amount adds up. Super frustrating and I'm usually headed home after a long day so I don't notice the missing ingredients until I'm already home. I've mentioned this to the staff when I order the next time but mistakes still keep happening and no one has offered to make up for the mistake (like maybe charge me for a veggie burger with no cheese and add the cheese in there to make up for all the cheese I've previously paid for?!) This is my go to spot for the habit, the staff are super nice. On one occasion the lady offer my dad and I water cups and even gave is extra ranch without charge. The Habbit ambience is casual dinning area with pictures of Santa Barbara and stories of how it was found it, they have an outdoor seating area as well. I will say this is my favorite location because is a few minutes drive from me and this location is unique because they have a drive-thru. And I love that they have drive-thru! Also it is the perfect go-to for their sweet potato fries. They're yummy! I have been here several times, every time the service has been on point! I had a great customer experience. I ordered the Grilled Chicken and I could not decide on the salad dressing Blue cheese or Ranch dressing to my surprise he gave me both dressings. That is a UPS, unexpected pleasant surprise great customer service! I hope he gets Employee of the Month! He totally deserves it. The food was very good. The use of kiosks in the dining room for ordering is a disaster. It takes away the human element. You can't say no mayonnaise or well done on the onion rings. You can't say no pickles please. To top it off once you get done making your order if you want to pay by cash you need to wait for staff to help you because it's all tied up into using plastic money. Oh my...my last review of this Habit Burger & Grill was over 4 years ago. We had just finished grocery shopping and were on our way home. Habit is on the way and an easy drive thru for us as we approached the 405 fwy. I always like to be first in line as right after we entered, three cars followed. Looking over the menu board carefully and a friendly voice asked for our order. We did have to repeat the order as the person on the other end wants to make it error free. So 2x number 1 charburger combo, one with cheese and no pickles, and one no cheese and no onions. French Fries came very hot, but the medium size ice cold lemonade quenched our thirst. Our Habit Burger drive thru experience was a positive one and we added a healthy tip to the hard working crew inside. Horrible service, we have gone at least 3 consecutive times and they never get my order right. We went today thinking it's different but this time they had their drive thru closed due to their "systems down". I think it's a total lie, once I went inside I saw all the workers in the back just lollygaggin around and causing 15 min wait for food to get distributed. We ordered takeout for a quick and easy dinner. I ordered a salad and green bean fries. Both were really good. My husband ordered a lettuce wrapped char burger cooked well done. Not only was it not well done, but it was very pink throughout to the point of being undercooked. We had to throw it away out of fear of getting sick. We placed our order online, hoping to avoid a long wait--but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Nearly everyone in the restaurant appeared to be waiting for their food, regardless of how or when they ordered. One customer, in particular, ordered a lettuce wrap burger with just lettuce, onion, and the burger patty. After waiting a long time, he received the wrong order--not once, but twice--and eventually gave up trying to have it corrected. Another woman's pager went off, but her food wasn't ready. She had to get a second pager, and when that one buzzed, she chose to hold onto it until she actually received her meal. Despite the confusion at the counter, the kitchen staff seemed to be working very hard. The cooks did a fantastic job under pressure. Unfortunately, by the time we received all of our items, our food was cold, which was disappointing. That said, it was appreciated that the staff remade a melted shake without hesitation. It seemed the team was overwhelmed by the ordering system, especially the color-coded screen used to match orders with meals. Several completed trays sat on the counter the entire time we were there, suggesting a disconnect between the kitchen and front-of-house service. Habit burger is pricey in my opinion but it's always delicious. My go to menu is the ahi tuna on sourdough add avocado and get the green bean fries. This is such a great bunch of flavors. I have tried the impossible burgers and they are fine but the tuna sandwich is the best bang for the money. If you like tropical tea they have one of the best around. I've been to many Habit Burger locations between here and NorCal. And I must say, this location is extremely convenient for me and they also run their operation pretty smoothly. Drive-thru has been spot on each time as they haven't messed up my order yet. However, at times it could take quite awhile to get your order. I also recently dined in here with my toddler and there was no one there right before noon. Plenty of seating inside and even outside. They keep the place pretty spotless. Kudos to the staff for that upkeep. Bonus is the condiments station right by the drink station. I love that they have chili peppers, jalapeños and pepperoncine peppers aplenty for you to add to your meal too. read more

This habit is horrible. Last time I came here was prob 2yrs ago. I've always made sure to stay away. My wife decided to come here since it was closer than the HB one. Now she understands why I never went back. The fries were too salty, we couldn't even eat them. We had to throw them out. My daughter's chicken nuggets were over cooked and hard. It was basically crumbling batter with minimal chicken. My other kids cheese burger had no cheese in it. I don't know what's up with this location. Maybe the staff just doesn't care.
