I would go to Habit Burger if I needed a snack but was too lazy to go anywhere else. I found the location convenient returning from W. Seattle to Seattle. At 8:30pm on a Saturday there was only one other car ahead of me. The service was friendly but slow. I got a Charburger and Sweet potato fry. The Charburger had a little of the char flavor you get with Burger King, but less intense. The fries were good despite being pretty floppy, and I really liked their sauce selection. I would easily prefer Dick's, Burgermaster and several others to Habit Burger, but I'm also someone who'll have a burger I don't like and never go back to this place, and I find I would go back if I needed a quick and easy option. The juice is nice and homemade with cucumber slices and they have a very nice pepper bar for the spice handler's (people who can handle the spice) I also like the very frequent cleaning up and they keep a lot of sauce. First of all, they've re-invented the wheel and made it square. No way to get in a drive thru line and order. Nope. Sat in the line for 15 minutes and finally realized there was no way to order, so I called the Coeur d'Alene number and after a wasted 30 seconds of AI got a real person in the restaurant. I asked if I had to order through an app or could I just order now, and was told sure no problem, just place your order when you get to the window. Nope. Got to the window and was told "here's a menu and instructions, so just park somewhere and order and then get back in the "mobile order only" line. Or if you can find a place you can park and come inside and order." Great. So I wait until some other unhappy customer leaves and park and go inside. Place my order at the counter and wait with a dozen other unhappy campers on a bench as we watch the mayhem. After over half an hour at this joint I get my burger. Very thin, unmemorable burger. Fries were decent, but I have two words for anyone thinking of this "bad habit" place - TX Roadhouse. For the same price you get a far better burger, like more than a quarter inch thick, and a much faster pickup experience. It's absolutely the dumbest method for a fast burger I've ever seen, and this one sits between a mickey d's and a carls' junior, which both have standard drive through ordering and will see a huge increase in biz thanks to the new dumb thing now sitting in between them. Opened Yelp to see what was near me as I had time to kill in the area. Habit came up first as a sponsored post. Looked at a couple other spots but their menu spoke to my stomach. Restaurant is clean and employees are friendly. You can order on a kiosk or with a person. There were also people ordering via their app. Got the green bean fries based on another review and they did not disappoint. Fries were hot but could have been a tad crispier for my liking. Fry sauce and ranch were both good. Burger was on the better side of average for a fast food chain. Wish the cheese would have been melted but overall was a good burger. As we waiting for our food, two homeless people came in with dogs that were NOT service dogs, one being a pit bull. They bought something small like a ice cream. Asked for a water glass and stole the soda. They also asked for two bags and FILLED THEM UP WITH ALL ALL THE THINGS at the counter. Nobody asked them to leave, employees just let this happen. We ate here Sunday evening, October 6th, & everything was GREAT! From the helpful assistance of employee Snow, to the cleanliness of the restaurant & the quality of the food, we were very impressed. We both had a single patty Char burger with cheese... omg... deee-licious! The char gave the meat a nice little crunch, and the rest of it was delicious too...there was lettuce and tomato and mayo on it; we had the pickles held as they aren't our thing. The fries were perfect, golden and crunchy. I had one of their seasonal shakes, the apple pie, and it was truly scrumptious. Really did taste like apple pie, with crunchy little pieces of "crust" throughout. And my husband had a small Caesar salad that he liked quite a bit. I read an article saying that Habit was better than In-n-out so I found a Habit and ordered the double char burger with cheese and everything else that was standard. To me wasn't as good as the in-n-out burger, the habit's bun was mushy and seamed smashed dowin, the burger tasted ok but didn't taste as good as the in-n-out. We usually come here to get a reasonably good hamburger and onion rings. July 25 order 2 habit burgers and onion rings, each Burger is in a wrapper but I noticed they were kind of greasy. Ate half for lunch and saved half for dinner. After reheating I wrap my greasy burger in a napkin but my wife ate hers as is. Couple hours later she is throwing up, bedridden the next day nauseated and throwing up. The half Burger I had for dinner soak the napkin with grease real bad. Now I am especially glad I am Yelping The Habit, as I just noticed the 2 1/2 star rating for this location. My wife and I gone to the restaurant a few years ago, a bit after they opened, and while it was good, we hadn't made it back. Several weeks ago, I happened to be in the area, and thought I would try a charbroiled cheeseburger. It was tremendous. The seasoning was right on, and the bun was warm and soft, and the cheese was perfectly melted. So now, I am having a bit of a game with The Habit in West Seattle. I really want to see if the burger is consistent and seasoned this well each time I visit. Well...I just had charbroiled cheeseburger #4 in the last six weeks, and it is still excellent. The difference starts with the seasoning. The least expensive item in the kitchen, and many restaurants do not use enough of it. The service has also been terrific...friendly and very professional. The same gentleman has been in the drive-thru window the last few times and he is excellent. Great job Habit...I will be back. Please continue to be this good. read more

Worse than Jack In The Box, but cost more. Ordered a #2 Double Char with cheese & side of fries for $16.75. Burger - soggy, dripping mayo, and missing the caramelized onions. Fries - SMALL portion, cold, and stale. 100% reminded me of school cafeteria fries. Not even enough to fill the paper tray they came in and missing the ketchup. Which is crazy because a side of fries is $3.49! My first time at The Habit and it was very disappointing. Lesson learned, I'm going to get my moneys worth somewhere else. read more

The Habit is apparently a chain, but this was my first time going there. It is located near the West Seattle Bridge, in the old KFC building. They are on a busy corner, so you pretty much have to be traveling east on Avalon Way to enter and you must exit by going south on 35th Ave. There was a sign stating that the dining room is open during COVID, but we decided to use the drive-thru. The lady who took our order was pleasant and easy to understand. I chose the #1 Original Charburger meal with cheese. It comes with a medium drink and french fries. My husband ordered the Santa Barbara Char sandwich only. It has a double patty, cheese, and avocado on grilled sourdough bread. We were the only people in the drive-thru, but our food did take a few minutes to prepare. It wasn't a big deal though. Overall, I thought my food was good. The burger was pretty straightforward, but tasted like an upscale diner burger. I've driven by this place almost every day and decided today was the day to try it. Drive through was crowded - about eight cars in front of me - but it only took about 10 minutes to get to the front of the line and get my order. Getting to the front of the line I saw everyone inside the restaurant was wearing masks - properly - which is more than I say for many fast food places. It's smoky out so I really appreciated how the cashier waited until the whole meal and drinks were ready so we could both open out our windows and process the order in one fell swoop. I had the charburger - added bacon and cheese, no onions. It was pretty delicious. A classic sesame bun which I honestly find more delicious than fancier buns. A good amount of meat and bacon and cheese, all nicely proportioned. Bottom of the bun was a tad soggy but I did wait about 15 minutes before getting home and eating. My spouse had the golden chicken which she said was a very good fast food chicken sandwich. Looked like there was a ton of well breaded chicken on the bun. The fries were on the thicker side and a bit soggy - again though - it's truly unfair to rate fries unless you are eating them right away. I will say they could have used more salt, but lathering in fry sauce (it tastes like the campfire sauce at Red Robin) made up for it. I will go by again when I have a burger craving. Returning to West Seattle from a downtown doctor's appointment, my Wife and I decided to drive-through on a whim. They took our order and we drove up to pay. As my wife was paying, the cashier said there is a tip screen here. Being usual tippers we gave our standard 20%. Got our food and returned home. When we reviewed the receipt we were shocked to find that they also charged a 20% service fee, thereby getting themselves 40%. The cashier had never mentioned that. Pretty sketchy ethics in my book . We will not be going back; that is really rude and greedy. There are plenty of other great and more ethical alternatives. Pretty decent burger. Not an all time fave but I grew up with mom & pop teri burgers and saimin combos. Tried the Charburger and subbed raw for grilled onions and requested extra lettuce (to compensate for the rest of everything) and they did not disappoint. Burger was nice and juicy, not obnoxiously thick but not skinny either. Got a side of the fries/green beans and since was ordering via Dash, got it not so well done knowing I was going to throw it in the air fryer to reheat. Came out perfect! Tried the boom sauce - I may have poured whatever I didn't dip fried/green beans into into my burger. Being a lilikoi (passion fruit) fanatic, I tried their passion fruit soda/juice/drink...meh. No issues with the staff, never had any problems with them. At times it can be pretty slow getting an order thru the drive thru. The food in 2019 was great and consistent. Then I started having stomach issues after eating burger and fries from there. I brushed it off as a fluke. It happened several more times and kept getting sick. So I switched to a meatless patty and that was great! Until it wasn't and we were back to stomach issues again. Maybe they changed delivery companies, but something wasn't right. The meat became increasingly salty. We discontinued going to that particular store because we both were getting ill after eating. We haven't been back since earlier this year, when we chanced it due to the late hour. Same result. I can't speak about inside the restaurant as I have only ever done drive thru.
