H SMOG - EMPTY AND NOT ANSWERING THE PHONE, HUNG UP WHEN CALLED - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Concord, California

Super quick service on a Friday morning. It really was 10 minutes max. Be sure to print out the online coupon from the website (https://concordsmogcheck.com/). This is my second time here and even the first time when it was busier, it was still quick. As you are going down the street, you'll see a driveway with multiple auto repair places. Just go down to the end and H Smog is the last one. read more

Nice and quick. Price is definitely reasonable with the available coupon online. Definitely recommend.

Very timely service with a side of ethnic stereotyping. I called a week prior during business hours. The man who answered told me to come on Monday and "I'll give you a great deal. I'll do it for $50" When I showed up he added $10 extra for certificate. I told him you gave me $50 quote including "sending the certificate to DMV". I told him I won't get the physical certificate. His next question "are you from India? You need to have a certificate. How will they know you got it done? You're Indian. I know you guys like to bargain." I was baffled. I told him "it's fine just do it." He goes on to say "if you're not happy with my service you can go somewhere else" he then added "other guys...." And I couldn't understand the rest of what he was saying in his thick accent and he questions if I speak English. I dropped the conversation and asked him to just do it. He finished the job without any exchange of comments between us. I get that you may have had a bad experience with an Indian customer before but to provide this kind of service is ridiculous especially when I *never* asked for a lower price and only asked for the price you quoted me for closing during business hours. read more

Top tier service, call ahead to make a reservation and accommodation! I was recommended by 3 people to come here!

Got a quick STAR Smog Test today at HSmog. Fast and easy, plus Alex and Jess were great!

David was friendly and the service was fast and efficient. You have to show the coupon before checking in to get the price otherwise the price will be different. Good experience per my last smog test. read more

This guy will not honor valid coupons. He will also charge you more than any price you see displayed on his website or in person. Bait and switch. Just want to save the next person from getting ripped off. There are plenty honest businesses in and around the area. read more

H SMOG - Good luck trying to use this... - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Concord, California

My man helped me on a Sunday (told me Yelp deal doesn't apply on Sun) when I just got a new car. He informed me my gas cap rubber seal was worn and needed replacement. Also he scanned my car for codes and found nothing wrong! Smog passed, got my certificate, and I was out of there. Paid a little more ($80) but hard to find a smog shop open on Sundays. Thanks. read more

H SMOG - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Concord, California

Based on the coupon I got the impression that the smog with the certificate would cost around $50. When I got there I was quoted $80. I realized that the fine print on the coupon adds $20 for Star Certified. When I told the owner that I'd think about it and possibly come back he said "Don't come back!" So I went to another place about half a block away and got it done for $68 without any coupons and got a courteous and prompt service. I probably could've found a better deal but it was almost 6PM and I wanted to get it done the same day . Thank you H Smog for telling not to come back! It save me a few dollars and I promise not to bother you in the future. read more

Reasonable price. Fast and reliable service. The owner was friendly. Go check them out.

Positives First, I went to H Smog for SMOG testing my 2008 Honda Odyssey, David was very friendly and I my car was under Testing in no time, then came the pricing. Based on H Smog Website, I was expecting to pay $41.99 for SMOG, $8.25 Certification Fee, $10 for my VAN. Instead after the test was completed, I heard of this STAR is another $20 - Which is bogus and never had a STAR SMOG Certified center charge me a separate fee. When I mentioned I saw a coupon on his website, David immediately said I had to mention it when I arrived (there was no one there.. and since he was very friendly, missed on my part) later he said he would have told me I have wait for 2 weeks to get SMOG at the coupon price and he was very busy, to my surprise I was the only there... They had no fee structure displayed anywhere in the shop and It was quite a surprise. Comparing other Star Smog Centers in Concord, CA. There are lot of positive reviews about David and his establishment. I felt that the separate STAR fee is bogus for a STAR certified SMOG Check center. You be the Judge!. read more

Ali and David were super kind and took my car right away. I waited at a nearby smoke shop for 30 minutes and they told me their systems are down. Quick and friendly! I came here early on a Saturday morning and was almost immediately greeted by a friendly gentleman, despite him just starting to work on another customer's car. I was impressed that he was able to get me in and out in about 30 minutes with the paperwork I needed for my registration. One caveat - there is no indoor waiting area so be cognizant of the weather. Chairs were provided but it was outside and uncovered. I was fortunate to come the day after the recent heat wave read more

Called twice to confirm the coupon advertised in East Bay Times would be honored and what the total price would be. He said my 2007 passenger car would apply but it would be $15 higher out the door. I asked why and he said because of STAR (DMV) which showed on the ad as a +$20 fee and said I was getting a good price compared to anywhere else. I looked at my DMV renewal notice and it said "Please take this notice to a SMOG check station." (not a STAR station) I went elsewhere as I didn't trust him and I didn't get an accurate answer. read more

English language issues aside, when we told the technician our car was from Connecticut he said we can't get it smoked. After several minutes of Q&A we convinced him the CT is in the USA. So we got in line and waited, for half an hour. Watching the tech. Working was interesting, and at times concerning. But he got the job done. Then he asked us to pay $100.00 I looked up and pointed at the sign clearly stating $49.00 for smog testing. Once the manager got involved, trying to say that the car was from out of state, which adds $20.00 blah blah. We finally agreed to pay $80.00 just to conclude this miserable experience. So if you MUST use this shop discuss price before hand. And I hope your vehicle already has California plates on. read more

Totally Over priced. Charged $100 on a 2001 vehicle that passed smog and technician was clueless. Don't trust this place

David helped me get my smog completed today. He was the best smart technician I have ever worked with, he was helpful, efficient, welcoming, and full of humour. It made the entire process the best smart experience I've ever had. He was very quick and made sure everything I needed was complete. I would undoubtedly recommend H Smog to anyone who wants a quick and easy experience getting their car smogged. Great smog place with a courtesy staff. I was third car in line and was still done in under 20 minutes. the smog check. This station H smog specializing in smog test certification was excellent for its cleanliness, efficiency, and location. Pulled up at 4:40 on a Friday night and was helped immediately with my smog needs. Best price I could find for a Star smog, very friendly and extremely helpful. Bait and switch! Current Money Mailer Coupon $22.75 + $8.25 for certificate says "Does not expire". None of the stated extras applied to my vehicle. Worker said it was old and asked for $45. Drove all the way there because they had a coupon for a reasonable price of $29 for a Smog. I have a Lexus SUV which I mentioned on the phone I get there and they claim it's a Luxury vehicle and they have to charge $75!
