Service was quick, price was great and the tech was very friendly! I had 2 cars smoged and he had us in and out within 40 min! The extra 10 min were mostly friendly conversation and switching the cars around. read more

I recently got a smog check here, and the price was much cheaper than other shops nearby. On top of that, the service was fast, efficient, and the staff was extremely friendly. As long as they keep their prices reasonable, I will definitely be back next time! read more

Hi all! I want to recommend the smog station at Golden Star on Oliviera in Concord zip 94519, because I was very well impressed by the service that I got with having my car smogged. Got a $25 coupon here on Yelp! Total price with certificate was $45. Which is better than anyone I know. Plus that it was done instantly, and Hamad was very courteous! read more

Hamad is by far the most professional and friendly smog check business around. I have been to numerous locations over the years and the folks working at these shops are rude, ignore me because I'm a woman or completely lie about their pricing. You know, put a price on a coupon and then come up with some reason as to why I have to pay more after the service. Well, I've been to this shop twice in 3 years now and that is not the case here. I have worked with Hamad both times and he has always been very professional, very friendly, quick ( I mean less than 10 minutes on my car), and always a man of his word ( always charges me as advertised). So if you need a smog, check out this shop. read more

Truly incredible service -- This is really happening -- Hamad is just the most polite and professional manager and tech I've come across. He's also honest and gets 5-stars for customer service. When do you leave a smogging station so happy and feeling like a million dollars, as if you'd just left a luxury dealership with your new car? I'm a tough customer, but this is really how great Golden Star Smog is. Go there -- you'll be so glad you did! You'll also be happy with their pricing :) read more

Golden Star Smog is the best smog station around! Ahmad was a very friendly and thoughtful technician who took time out of his lunch break just so I could get my car smogged. They advertise they are open until 5pm. I walked up at 4:25pm. He told me he is not taking anymore appointments for the day. I asked if they were open until 5pm. He told me yes but he is already smogging a car. I asked him what his name was, he said "Ahmad" and then proceeded to verbally abusing me, asking me what my problem is. I said, "why are you being so aggressive?" His response is he's trying to do his job and I'm bothering him. This "manager" is INCREDIBLY RUDE! I've lived here my whole life...I know A LOT of people in this area. I will take my business elsewhere and let all of my friends and family know not to go here. read more

So glad I chose this place for my Smog test! As others have mentioned, Hamad is one of the personable and helpful smog folks around. He explained the process start to finish and honored my Smogtips coupon with no upsell nonsense (GREAT value for money). I was a walk-in appointment, but from the time I dropped off my car to the time I drove out was only about 15 minutes. Highly recommend this place - they've definitely got my business the next time I need a check. read more

Best place in my opinion for a smog check in Concord...Why? Well because theyre fast and never super crowded. No BS! Thats my fav part. You can find a coupon online and its $45 with certificate. Small place. Its inside the Shell station. read more

FINALLY an honest smog test shop! I was due for a smog check on both our 2014 cars. So I checked reviews, asked friends and looked for coupons, then had a list of possible smog test shops. I started calling the shops and one by one all the other shops found some kind of way to increase the price of the smog check based on the fine print of the coupon. :( I am VERY happy to say that was NOT the case with Golden Star Smog. Do they have disclaimers on their coupons, of course they do! Did any of them seem unreasonable or shady, absolutely NOT! I have to say that Golden Star Smog was the most honest shop I had spoken with and also the most pleasant to speak with. In the end even without a coupon their prices are better than all the other shops coupon or not. If I am going to trust a shop with my car, that trust needs to start right away. That's exactly what I got at Golden Star Smog! No hidden fees, no bait & switch, just honest and truthful service! If you need a smog test, this is your place! read more

I had gone into Golden Star Smog to get my car inspected. I was greeted promptly by a technician named Hamad. He was courteous and very friendly. His attention to detail in the way he performs his inspection speaks volume. This man does not leave one fingerprint on my car...LOL.! Truly amazing !! He checks and double checks my paperwork and vehicle confirming no discrepancies, ensuring that my smog inspection report was 100% accurate. This is the smog shop I would recommend to my friends and family. If you want to experience 5 star, awesome service, this is the place !! Thank you Hamad, you are #1 !!! -Gary read more

Very Friendly and cost are in line with other shops, no online appointments have to call them to make a reservation...

Unless your car is perfect, do not bring it here. They failed my car because of a tape on one of the hoses (nothing was wrong with a hose itself). They will not do free retest either. This is a scam. Owners beware! An update: went to another station and got it past without a hitch read more

Took my car in 2 days ago. In and out. Nobody got hurt. As an old guy it's always a pleasure doing business with a younger guy who knows what he's about and is into TCB. This guy deserves 6 stars. read more

They seem too busy forever to do 10 minutes smog check. I went there twice in one hour because it is close to my home. First time I went there, I was asked to come back in half hour. After I came back again, the guy was sleeping in his chair and one more space is open but asked me to wait one more hour because they have another car in service. My car only need 10 minutes test only. So I have to go to another nearby station to do the test, only let me wait for 5 minutes, poor working attitude. read more

I needed/was required to get my smog check done at a star certified place. While on travels for work I came across this station and I was lucky to be able to come in at a non busy time and got seen relatively quick for being a walk in customer. Amir took care of the check within 30 minutes and I was back at work in no time. He's very thorough and honest with his checks and once I passed the report was sent directly to the DMV which took care of half my registration needs!
