its my run to store everytime i needed some groceries after work but I bought a paper bag for .50 cents and as soon as i went out the door the bag ripped and everything I bought dropped to the dirt. i went inside and asked for a new bag but the cashier Sosary said I ripped the bag. So she cannot replace it. I had to carry everything I bought by hand. Customer Service sucks. They just lost one customer. read more

This is mainly for the Korean lady who makes the banchon (side dishes) in the back. She is very authentic and comparable to Mom's cooking. Her kimchi and raw crab dishes are to die for! If you like crab poke you will love her spicy raw crab. It's not cheap but I get it at least once a month. You can get some good deals on other Korean groceries but their vegetable area is hit or miss. read more

H-Mart is a mainland Korean grocery chain store so my expectations were high. I notice they have many markdowns on items that are close to its expiration date. They range the gamut from sauces, snacks to ramyun. So if bargain shopping is your thing you can really score and get lucky. Or not. It all depends. I'd like to try their ready to cook tteokpokki with chewy noodles located in their chill case but I'm waiting for the crave to hit. The spicy fire noodle ramen challenge, a.k.a. Samyang's Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen, a.k.a. buldak pokkeum myun is everywhere it seems. They have different versions including an instant noodle bowl available as well. I bought the regular package version almost 2 months ago & I'm still trying to gain some courage to eat it. If you watch YouTubers attempting the challenge their lips will turn red and puffy. What a scary way to get a lip enhancement. I have until 4/30/18 before my ramen expires so we'll see. I do like the Nongshim Neoguri Stir-Fry Noodle version. Not to confuse this with the soup version. It's spicy but not overly so. Eat it with a sunny side egg for the creamy yolk to cut the spice. Delish. The cucumber kimchi sold by weight is a popular option as the bin is always low. They keep the banchan right next to the seafood section and that area is kind of stinky so it kinda kills my appetite for kimchi. Parking lot is cramped and small but I always seem to find parking. I once missed & passed the store because it's been a long while since I've been here. I really miss the bright aquatic blue color of Queen's Supermarket. You just could not miss THAT color. I'll be back to re-check their ramyun section. There is a new honey cheese jalapeño pokkeum myun out that hasn't hit Hawaii yet so I'm on the lookout. Holler if you find it. read more

Ehhhh. I was super excited to know there was an H Mart in Hawaii because H Mart tends to be a pretty great Korean market. This one, however, was tiny and not really worth the stop. There's a fairly decent produce selection and it's certainly a good stop if you can't make it to Chinatown. I found banchan it be okay; nothing special. Funny story - I thought the persimmon was $2.99 a box - some last minute mark down special since it didn't look too great. Turns out it was $2.99 each so my box rang up to $25 or so. Um. oops, no. I'm not coming back. Prob more worthwhile for me to go to Palama Market, though it does seem a tiny bit more extensive, but the produce just didn't look really fresh. read more

A lot bigger than I expected, but not as big as the chains in the mainland. Great selection on banchan, and the fresh seafood looked good too! I only came to get gochujang, and ended up getting green onions on sale and some other items. Service was friendly and quick. Update 7/24/17 I came to shop for dangmyun and banchan and got a free box of chocopies!!!! Awesome! Update 4/15/18 I finally got some food from the restaurant. Spicy pork and soft tofu stew. The spicy pork was flavorful and had peppers, carrots, and onions in it. It came with three sides, seaweed, kong namul, and kimchee. Really good and I will come back again for the spicy pork. The soft tofu soup had plenty of soft tofu. It had a raw egg to mix up and little bits of octopus, clam, mussel, and diced zucchini in it. It was oily and not a good broth. It lacked depth, spiciness, and good flavor. It tasted like MSG and was "shinguhwoh" definitely not "urlkunheh" Mililani BBQ still has the best soft tofu soup. Unfortunately I think H-Mart's is the worst I have had. read more

I love any Korean supermarket, it reminds me of when I was living in Korea as a young girl and I would go to the little Mom and pop stores and pick out candy and buy "juju" bars for snacks. There are a lot of genuine Korean food here along with fresh fruits and veggies. They also have a Kim Chee bar where you can pack your own ban Chan by the pound. There are also tons of ramen (spicy ramen challenge sold here), potato chips and cookies. My favorite is the back where the frozen ice cream and popsicles are. The workers here are very nice and helpful. Sometimes I have a hard time figuring out what things are since the writing is foreign and I have always found someone to help me translate. You have to bring your own bags here or you will have to pay $.10 per bag. Parking is kind of weird. read more

First time at an H-mart and it is super cute. They have so many Asian grocery products, snacks, etc. Stuff is a little pricey in my opinion so get the things that you can't get in other stores for cheaper. Unless you made of money then you do you. The most popular item has to be their brown sugar boba ice cream popsicles. They are so good! Limited 2 per customer and it is $11 each box (4 inside). I think it is definitely worth a try tho. Upstairs, they have their H-mart eatery. It is a decent size food court with several Korean restaurant selections. They also have a Giovanni shrimp so you no longer need to drive to north shore for it. They also have Black Sheep Creamery (must try!) and a bar where you can fill your own beer. There is plenty of seating area. If you love food and grocery stores as much as I do, you need to come here! read more

Having been to a few other H-marts... I was pleased at how clean this store is. The lay-out is nice and it is easy to shop! The parking lot is a bit crowed as it seems to be a loading/unloading dock also but wasn't too bad. The prices are a bit higher then other places but it's nice to get everything you need in one spot! Visited this H-Mart on 13 Aug a little after lunch looking for sesame leaves. They did not have any but did have some thai chili peppers that I needed for a dish. Went to the checkout counter and presented my H-Mart rewards card to the cashier. She said she was sorry but they don't accept those at this store, maybe at their Kakaako store. I only stopped by this store because it was close to the airport where I had to pick up my daughter. How can you be called H- Mart or Safeway or Foodland and not accept your own store's rewards program? Makes no sense. Totally Broken. read more

If you go to this H Mart for their in-store made kimchi, just be aware that the elderly lady who had been making them, since the Queen's Super Market days at least, is no longer there. This is in case you notice any changes to taste, for instance. The only reason we continued to frequent this location was for her kimchi, which my wife loved, especially her yeolmu and pogi kimchi. Still love it here. They have a different variety than Palama Market. We shop here specifically for the meat selection- yakiniku style- very convenient for me to cook for my kids on a lazy weekend. We also enjoy the eateries upstairs and the vast snack selection in the store. read more

I am giving this korean Market one star because the manager (a guy) who answer the phone He was really really a asshole My reason for call was The FDA had a posting about Korean enoki mushrooms are in recall because they found Listeria monocytogenes on the mushrooms it could cause a illness or to death You know I bought them last week Saturday because it was on sale 2 for $5 And also I made a food with the mushrooms also my husband and I ate it too I can't explain but I am having some pain and I called my doctor and he wants to know if the mushroom brand was from korea and that was having issues right now. But you know the manager of H Mart he wasn't even listening to me I was keep asking him can I ask you a question and he keep cutting my words (my questions was can I know the brand of enoki mushrooms and I also ate some on my doctorwants to know) and he keep saying "we dont have enoki mushrooms anymore and so what do you want? Can you believe that what he is saying!! You know I am so worry that me and my husband ate some and I am so afraid something will happen to us I am so upset I told him he is so rude and you know what he said you too! The Health Department needs to check this place out. When you walk in, everything is fine, but when you get to the back by the rice, the smell of dead rats is horrid, it is disgusting. They have Chinese cabbage piled in a shopping cart and perishables that aren't refrigerated. This place is not safe. read more

Sometimes I want good, cheap, simple Korean food and their restaurant by the entrance fits the bill. You have to order and pay at the store checkout line and the cashier will walk your order to the kitchen. I like the naeng myun (cold buckwheat chewy noodles) and the hot kalbi and cabbage soup the best but everything is good. The regulars swear by the blood sausage soup with intestines but I haven't been brave enough to try it yet. All meals come with rice and three banchan but while I'm waiting I like to go to the kimchee section of the grocery store and get a few more sides. The produce is good and cheap too. I love Palama. I also love Don Quijote. I've driven by H-Mart so many times and never went in (time crunch). I wanted to check it out, because my coworker is Korean and told me H-Mart is a popular Korean grocery store chain. Parking lot is a PAIN in the ass. Cars are parked soooooo terrible here. Anyways, when I first walked into the store it had a "china town" smell (don't judge me). It smelled like a mix of vegetables and raw meat. It's not a bad thing, but you know if you're not used to the smell you probably wouldn't like this store. The store has a lot of items, just like Palama. There's vegetables, snacks, ramen/noodle aisle, foreign drinks, and housewares. There is also a banchan area WITH a lot of options (I still prefer Palama though). They're left out, and it's up to YOU to close the lids properly because flies are buzzing all around. I did buy a little bit of Kim chi, so spicy and delicious. I would come back if I was in the area, or specifically saw something on sale here vs another grocery store. Wouldn't go out of my way though. I'll probably stick to Palama. read more

Forget the parking garage and just look for parking the street. The garage had very limited parking for H-MART shoppers and is small. The 1st time I went the veggies were very fresh but the aisles are narrow and it is hard to social distance yourself from other shoppers. They did have great packages of Korean noodles that I had not seen before so we purchased a few different types. They were delicious. We did not make it upstairs to the food court. I returned to H Mart a week later and was disappointed in the vegetables as they were very wilted and spoiling. We just turned around and left. read more

Where the hell do I begin?! Poor service, flies, horrible snack corner, etc. The only saving grace AND the only reason I'll ever return was their ban chan area in the back. I've been to H marts in Atlanta; this place is NOT the same. There is not a single Korean in the snack corner. Do you know what that results in? - soft tofu soup that is 1 level above water and kimchee chige so oddly sour that this yobo could not stomach it. My fave part of the snack corner was witnessing them purchasing pre-made ttoboki packets to heat up and resell for $4.99. Each ban chan (seaweed, daikon, and cabbage kimchee) that cake with our meals was...just not right. Super sad as "H mart" had such a high standard in my mind. I'm accustomed to H-Mart where you can find the cleanest aisles, fresh and quality products, and solid customer service. I did not find that at this H-Mart location. It was...ick! The small store size is not an issue. It was the old sad-looking produce, sight of flies, and the pungent odor as soon as you step into the store (and it wasn't the kimchi!). It was not an inviting grocery store at. all. Until they clean up, I'm not making another trip here again. read more

Pretty crowded but the food court up top was kind of worth it. If you're shopping, you will need to leave your cart downstairs (hoping no one steals your milk tea boba ice cream bars) by the elevator. Then venture to the food court where you will find a few small restaurants. Giovannis shrimp truck is among some of the food places. read more

The only Korean mart that I like getting my yakiniku meat from, very high quality meat and the prices match it. You can get brisket, pork belly, Ribs, cow tongue, Kobe meats, ribs and they even have marinated meats ! You have to get there LA Style ribs marinated, get the 2-3 day old ribs the sauce has really seeped in by then ! read more

This a brand new Korean supermarket i have been to. I was amazed by how things were well kept and organized and if i do remember it used to be a Queens supermarket and it was a second Keeaumoku Supermarket. I do remember those stores and i haven't been in this area from my days of living in the neighborhood and buying things from drinks to specialty snacks to eat from Korea. I am surprised that i have seen a lot of changes taking place from being a Queens supermarket and Keeaumoku Supermarket to a HMart, which i have never been to this place before. It does reminds me of the old Queens supermarket when i used to go there for my friend. It was a little different but i do have seen the take out restaurant, which is still there inside the HMart. I hope that i can really return to this store to shop again read more

H Mart is my go to place to pickup Kim Chee they make it there and have in bins for you to fill a container for the Kim Chee I have tried several of their Kim Chee and I love em all my favorite though is the Daikon Kim Chee followed by the Young Daikon Kim Chee which has the stems Yum! The biggest draw is that the Kim Chee is reasonably priced too at $3.99 a lb can't go wrong with that! They even opened a Plate Lunch Counter in there although I haven't tried it yet. They have a pretty good selection of pretty everything a market should have and parking is usually pretty good I have always found a space there. read more

Wow... a Korean market in town that is not Palama market. Nothing against PM but H-Mart is a fun destination. There is a full-on food court on the second floor with a beer-bar and $1 PBR. Their food prices are very reasonable. My favorites are the shishito peppers and their selection of pre-cut and pre-marinated meats. They also have frozen Korean pancakes, both sweet and savory varieties. Huge instant ramen section and k-snacks galore. The parking is either street or a very small entrance on Pohukaina street right before their building starts going diamond head bound. take your ticket inside for free validation with purchase. read more

I couldn't find lemongrass at Palama Market just a block away so H-Mart was the next stop to find it. Super small parking lot full of potholes. Upon entering the store, the produce section is immediately to your right. Lemongrass was available. Since my husband and I have never been to this store, we took our time going up and down the aisles looking at what they have. There's lots of kim chee in bags and jars. Lots of frozen Asian food. One interesting find was a seafood hot dog which was white. Very limited meat options. I was hoping there would be more Asian snacks, but they had the same things I would find at Tamura's closer to home. It definitely didn't look like the H-Mart stores I've seen online and maybe this location is not part of that company so I wasn't wowed by what was available, but at least I found what I needed when I was in the area. read more

This location has gone through more owner/name changes than Elizabeth Taylor! Queens Supermarket stood on this corner for many, many years. Then, in a blink of an eye they "closed down for renovations". After a long closure the anticipation of a revamped Queens Supermarket had me driving by every time I went into town to check in the construction progress. Then one day I see the red letters with the shooting star logo and it turned into a Keeaumoku Market. What the heck?? That didn't last very long. Both Keeaumoku stores closed down shortly after. BUT, Queens Supermarket came back in and was up and running. So, I figured meh the owners got back into the game. Not so fast my kim chee lovers. This was another short lived marriage. Another divorce ensued and it is now H-Mart. The products are the same as the previous stores, the famous kim chee lady is still mixing the yummy veggies, prices are competitive with the other Korean stores. Now it's just a wait and see if this market is here to stay. Or maybe Queens Supermarket will return. Hmmmmm read more

Where can I find good fresh kimchee? After searching on yelp, I decided to try Queen's Supermarket in Kalihi since it was a little closer to home than another one I wanted to try. But wait it's not Queens, it's H-Mart. Whatever the name, they still had authentic Korean fare. Well authentic enough for me. I could see Korean aunties making and buying the kimchee. After tasting it, it tasted fresh, spicy and delicious. Really nice flavors. The customer service was good. One of the ladies came to get all my containers to price it for me. So she was helpful. They also have a good selection of soju and soft drinks. I only went to get kimchee and drinks so I can't say anything about the rest of the store. But the vegetable section did look very inviting had I needed veggies. read more

Decided to try their food at the snack corner, their soondae (dark colored Korean sausage looking thing) and kimchee man doo was so delicious!!! Lots of items on sale and they have just about everything you need from fresh produce, Korean snacks, to pre-made ban chan! I can come here every weekend just to pick up things from their snack corner and grab a few things in the produce section (some stuff is actually cheaper than your average grocery store)! My aunt bought some Chinese cabbage at this store and found out that they sell fake cabbage... that's cancerous... never buy Chinese cabbage at this store... don't even know if their kim Chee is real... i would do more research to make sure before buying heir veggies. read more
