This is one of those rare times when I have to disagree with the majority of reviews for a business. It seems as though most Yelpers love the Super H Mart in Duluth, but I'm not one of them. I don't shop here as often as my parents do, but I have been here many times. As others have mentioned, this is a great grocery store for fresh and affordable fruits and veggies. I love Korean snacks and ice cream (green tea ice cream is freakin' amazing!), and this is obviously the perfect place to buy them. There are numerous "stations" serving free samples of food such as fruit, vinegar drinks ("hongcho"), ramen noodles ("ramyun"), dumplings ("mandoo"), Korean BBQ (galbi and samgyupsal), and ice cream. The samples usually change every weekend, but you can be sure to get some from Friday through Sunday beginning around 10 am and ending by 7:30 pm. You can get a satisfying, and often filling, snack by wandering around the store and trying all the free samples. So with all of these wonderful pros, why don't I LOVE this H Mart? During my family's most recent visit early on a Sunday evening, I noticed the following: - Stinky Seafood section - The seafood section reeked more than any other Korean supermarket I had ever been to. It was so bad it made the areas surrounding the seafood section stink. I'm not sure if they can do anything about this, but ughhh... It was bad. - Disgusting restroom - Oh my goodness... The inside of the women's restroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned ALL day. It made me concerned about the cleanliness of the store as a whole. - Unfriendly employees - The employees serving free samples are generally the nicer ones, but guess what? They're not employed by H Mart! The ones who are, such as the cashiers and those working at the food court, have not been so nice. They pick and choose who they want to be kind and friendly towards. My parents noticed this as well. Not good. Finally, I had the worst donkatsu (pork cutlet) I've ever tasted in my entire life at the food court in this H Mart. It's the thinnest, most flavorless donkatsu, skimpiest portion, and crappiest salad for $7.99. It was a shame that I ate here instead of Raku ($8.95 for a larger portion and WAY more delicious), which is right next door! Never again... The food court jjajangmyun (noodles with black bean sauce), on the other hand, is decent. To end on a positive note, if you sign up for their free "Smart Card" loyalty card, they send you coupon books for great limited-time discounts on certain items. You earn 1 point for each dollar you spend at H Mart, and you earn a $10 gift certificate for every $1000 worth of purchases. This is probably the main reason why I will continue to come back every now and then. Overall, this Super H Mart gets 2.5 stars for their good variety of products on sale at reasonable prices, loyalty card, and free samples on Fridays and weekends. However, I really hope they step it up and work on their customer service skills and cleanliness, ESPECIALLY in the restrooms. Now that I live in Duluth, this H Mart is the closest one to my house and most convenient, so I'm sure I will continue to shop here. However, no more food court donkatsu for me! It has taken me so long to write this review because I am a little intimidated since this place is so awesome. They have a bakery, a food court, bakery w/ bubble tea, house wares, media, skincare, independent vendors, as well as the massive grocery store within. This is the Korean version of K Mart, but way cooler. Too bad there were no fashions. All of the employees were so nice and treated all of the customers very well, no matter what you looked like, which is rare for Atlanta from my experience. The food court has better food than most expensive restaurants that I have been to. They have counters labeled: Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Snacks. My favorite was actually the snack counter because they have spicy noodles, fried squid, kabob rice cakes in broth, and dukbokki. Selections that were the largest and the best price were the produce section and the seafood section. There were so many kinds of greens that I have never seen before offered in many of my travels. Customers were fighting over the XO sauce, since H Mart seems to the last place on earth where you can buy it from right now. It is not even available online; and they actually had the Lee Kum Kee brand. There was also a special section just dedicated to banchan and kimchi. There was a full time employee there that just makes fresh whole leaf cabbage kimchi all day. I remember closing my eyes and walking past her, just to take the smell of hot peppers and ginger in. This place is massive. You can pretty much find any Asian grocery item here. They even sell furniture, appliances, cosmetics, and other random stuff you wouldn't expect to find in an Asian supermarket. Plenty of fresh produce, baked goods, and other items such as fresh kimchee (they even have people making it right there in front of you). Best of all, the store is clean and doesn't smell like most other Asian grocery stores. My favorite thing about this place is probably the food court on the right when you walk in. You can get any type of Asian fast food you want (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.) and there's also a nice little cafe/bakery attached. This place can get pretty busy on the weekends, which is to be expected. I wish they would open one inside the perimeter. read more

What an awesome experience! I am in love with Asian cuisine so when I say my experience was like a kid in a candy store, it was exactly that. It is a grocery, meat market ( with the best seafood department I've ever seen ) a food court and home department. Samples stations all through out the store introducing food sold there. For the most part customer service was good. Some presenters were non-engaging, but no deterrent to my wonderful experience. We were out of town so this is the nearest store being 2 1/2 hours away. I spent a few of my formative years in Okinawa, Japan, and when my mom wasn't dragging me to the beach to dig up tiny clams and sea snails which we would then spend hours digging out of their shells with straight pins (true story), we would go shopping for seafood in B.C. Street. It was congested and smelly and noisy. Street food vendors were all over the place. Shops existed that sold only fresh tofu or miso or Sanrio or jelly shoes in various forms. It was a hot mess. And this was what the H Mart reminded me of. We arrived on a crazy busy Saturday afternoon and thank god the shopping carts were extremely maneuverable because there was no stopping some of the elderly Asian ladies who would run over your slow ass and then give you a dirty look over their shoulders. And I was really slow because I would find something to reminisce about in every aisle, from the saluyot and kamote leaves in the produce section to the cans of Sac Sac in the beverage aisle. I even think I spotted some of those damn snails in the seafood section. Not only did H Mart provide cheap regression therapy, but it made me realize that my life will not be complete until I have a $400 blinged-out Zojirushi rice cooker. I've shopped at Super H Mart for years. I've enjoyed the Korean food items and the food court. NEVER again because they are so dang rude! I ordered Hot Pot Bulgogi with a Diet Coke to drink. The lady rang me up on my credit card but forgot the coke. When my food came out, I wanted to buy the coke to drink with my boiling hot pot. She said NO because it's a small credit charge transaction for the coke. She offered no alternative for me to buy the coke and was quite rude! I paid about $13 for the hot pot but I was so upset by her rude attitude that I told her to keep it all and I'll go eat elsewhere down the road. I've spent my last $1 at Super H Mart. Their food is yummy but I'll be damned if I'm going to get yelled at by a store employee about wanting to spend my money in the store. To heck with that. read more

I only recently realized that Buford Highway now spills into Gwinnett, and there's a whole slew of newer restaurants, shops and markets. I'd heard people talk about Super H, but I really didnt understand til going in person. It's Asian market paradise. During busy times, samplers are out a la Costco/Sam's Club style - except instead of bulk packages of meatballs, sample ladies (and dudes) hand out squid, leek dumplings and instant miso soup. Also, if you're looking for a unique gift, they carry things like tea sets, nice set of bamboo chopsticks and cute aprons that say 'Miao Cat!' The housewares section also has a small army of rice cookers, so skip getting one at Target and find your perfect match here. If you're into cooking with or experiencing different cultures foods, then this is worth the drive. Or if you're like me and pretending to be Andy Warhol with international flair, take your camera for photographing crazy canned goods and pretty packaging. If you'd rather just eat the food than try to cook it, there are cafes inside with Korean, Chinese, sushi . . . lots of choices. read more

NOT JUST A SUPERMARKET--YOU'LL BE TEMPTED = (Warning: Central Floridian visiting for the weekend) There are plenty of Asian markets and restaurants where I live yet my group still had fun here. Seriously--fun! Despite H-Mart's location in a busy plaza filled with Cafes, we still left this market with plenty of goodies. Honestly, if I lived here I would probably shop here more than any other grocery store because it also contained many 'familiar' grocery items. THE BEST PART ARE THE PREPARED FOOD = We didn't get to try any of the mini restaurants lining the right side but I saw representatives of Korean, Vietnamese, and even Asian Fusion cafes there. Every seat was filled. The whole left side was filled with large containers (serve-yourself style) of fermenting products, seasoned proteins (like tiny Crabs or Squid)... and you can sample everything! We loved the Taiyaki made fresh in front of you--delicious Chocolate inside a crispy Cake. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED = Okay, the ladies on the left probably told me to put down my camera since- well- I'm sure this wasn't 100% safety law approved. Open containers of fermenting products? One of my favorite Asian grocery stores! Very clean with great selection of fresh produce and awesome prices. They also have great weekly sales so be sure to check the newspaper on your way in. I also love getting lost in the pre-made food aisles to grab a quick dinner to bring home. And I may also happen to get lost down the meat aisle to grab a (or many) free sample of freshly grilled Korean BBQ. The food court here is also very good. I usually go for the Korean one with the Tofu Soup. The seafood tofu soup is great and loaded with clams and squid. Prices are also $1-$2 cheaper than at a regular restaurant. 10 years ago, Super H Mart would've received 11 stars! Today, the quality of the produce isn't always consistent. Some days you'll find the freshest quality while others you feel like you're at second hand grocery store. HMart is still my go-to for seafood and Korean foods and spices. The prices are extremely competitive. The lines can be rather long in the evenings. If you get in around 8pm, the food court will often have BOGO or half off deals on kimbop, sushi, and pastries. read more

For me, this Super H has been a stalwart on the large Asian market scene for many years along with Buford Highway Farmers Market. I actually preferred it before BHFM did their renovation a number of years ago. After that, I saw little reason to travel up to Pleasant Hill Rd from my home inside the perimeter when I can shop at BHFM. Still, I stop in occasionally when I'm in the area. It's a good market and has a lot going for it. The key differences between the two are the grocery section, where BHFM is the best the Atlanta metro in my opinion, and the non-Asian or Hispanic food selection, where Super H falls down a bit. Bonus points for having a huge parking lot and being located in a shopping center with a lot of good restaurants. read more

This review is for the new Korean hot dog/fish cake stand located in the back of Hmart next to the housewares section. I'm warning everyone who goes to try it out. Only pay with cash and always count your change before you leave. On June 18th, I went to Hmart to grab some green leaf lettuce and a couple of banchans to eat with my leftover pork bulgogi. After making my banchan selection, I noticed that the fish cake stand was now serving the Korean style hot dogs or corn dogs. I've always wanted to try this street food and decided to get one while I was there. I placed my order with the cashier. I ordered 1 "Mozzarella Half Hot Dog"...it came out to be $3.18 with tax. At first I was going to pay with my card, but was told that I would need to make a order of $5 or more. I apologized for not reading the big sign in front of me and gave the cashier a $5.00 bill. He pulled 1 dollar and 86 cents from the cash register...but only handed me 86 cents and my receipt. I saw him take my dollar and put it in his pocket. I was floored. I wanted to take a picture of him and post it here. But before I could do so or say anything, the cashier went to the back and never came back out again. The sad part about it, is that the Mozzarella Half Hot Dog was really good. So, fellow Yelpers...just be forewarned. This grocer is a classic example of a nice Asian grocery store that has all the necessary foods that one might need. Although there is a strong fishy odor wafting throughout the entire building, everyone is friendly and the fruits are very fresh. One problem was trying to find thing because it was hard to find anyone that could speak fluent English. The entire store was dirty and there were stains everywhere on the ground. I've been shopping this place for over 12 yrs now and still go this place. Since i've been here so long, I know where to go to get what I need. As korean I spend lot of money to get food from here and most of time I'm happy except few. Customer, be aware when you buy family pack ribs from here. One family pack is about around $50-60 and normally buy three to four pack for the event. They look pretty good from outside but that is only top layer of meat. Once you open package and took top layer to see under, it's all crappy garbage ribs. More bones than meat!!! I call their HO customer services to file complain about this and they said find out and call me back and never contact me... Like any other H Mart, this one has lots of fresh produce at good prices, a variety of frozen dumplings to fit your heart's desire, noodles galore, Asian sauces and spices to last you a lifetime, and a big fresh seafood counter that supplied me with this weekend's special when the Doraville location ran out- lobster @$5.99/lb- HMart runs specials like this every once in a while- check the online ad circular on their website. Lots of samplers too, for you to try as many things as you like. The store is clean and easy to shop in. This H Mart location is a frakkin' zoo on weekends, which is the only time I can get out there, despite the fact that there are 3 other Asian supermarkets along Pleasant Hill Rd. Expect the shopping trip to take extra time- I ran into "traffic" just trying to get my shopping cart in the front entrance! My tip is to have a list and get the shopping done if you're there on a weekend...you can browse at your leisure on weekdays. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with this Super H Mart location. I love that it has everything I need that I can't find/get back home in FL and that it houses my absolute favorite cosmetics store of all time (Aritaum) but I hate that it is agonizingly crowded at all hours of the day on the weekends (the only time I'm able to shop there.) Although it can get crazy in there, the store is very clean and well kept at all times. The customer service counter seems to be unorganized and equally chaotic, but any questions or concerns will be addressed once they finally get to you. read more

Super H Mart is one of my favorite Asian grocery store. I'm comfortable shopping there because they're clean and more or less organized. They have fresh produce and they keep up with it. I know they have cheaper places around but it kind of grosses me out when the places are all dirty, unkempt and smell funny. I really love their food court the best. I like their variety. A group of 4 adults & 2 kids drove from downtown Atlanta to try the Korean Fried Chicken at the Food Court. When we got there, we were surprised by the wide selection of food at the "Snacks" stall. And so after thinking and discussing, we decided to order the Noodles in Clam Soup and Seafood in Clam Soup (No. 8 & No. 9), the KimChee Fried Rice (No. 18) and of course what we went there for the KFC (No. 1). The guy at the counter told us we would have to wait 20mins for the chicken and so we did. Sat down, got drinks and the noodles were ready. First to arrive were No. 8 & No. 9. We tried the clam soup, we died and went to heaven. So so good. The fried rice I didn't try, a few who did said it was a little spicy but bearable. Bearly halfway thru our noodles, the chicken was ready. Wow wow wow, again we died and went to heaven. I love the daikon that came with it, not so much the chilly sauce. If you have to choose your last meal on earth, you'll be in big trouble trying to decide. read more

This is an unbelievable supermarket with a fantastic deli / food mart section. You can get dumplings / chinese , korean and sushi all for really reasonable prices. The staff is all pretty friendly and they had everything I could imagine I needed for asian style cooking. I cant wait to go back and I wish I lived closer! Incredible. I've been to many H-Marts and this one is by far, the best. It is massive. They make taiyaki fresh, you can sample all the banchan you want, and treat yourself to some Korean beauty products all in one store. I wish I lived inside this H-Mart. I came on a Sunday with my parents and it was probably their favorite part of visiting Atlanta. Do people know that H-Mart gives out samples on Sundays?? It's like the best post-church treat to go out to H-Mart and sample all the Asian food you want. Does H-mart give out samples on other days too?? I need to know so I can plan my next family vacation around it... They have an extensive produce section with a ton of Asian produce that are hard to find at other stores. The seafood is incredibly fresh and inexpensive. I love the snack aisle and the home goods section. One of my favorites is definitely the endless aisles of banchan. Neat little toothpicks nearby allow you to sample all of them. There is also a food court near the entrance. I also love the taiyaki stand. A sweet old lady will make the taiyaki fresh (and you pay at her stand). We bought a bunch of snacks (because Korean shrimp chips are bomb) and sampled a bunch of different ramens (2x super spicy ramen! and curry flavored ramen!). And then we went nuts in the home goods section. The prices here are waaaay cheaper than the ones in San Antonio. I wish I brought a larger suitcase so I could store all the bowls and spoons I wanted. I think people who live near an H-Mart simply don't understand the majesty and miracle that is H-Mart. I really like this place its like a mini walmart for all asian related tasks! They have all kinds of fresh produce, meats, seafood, etc. Most the times I've gone they've had samples they were serving to people who wanted them. I enjoyed them all I can honestly say. Came here looking for a good deal on seafood. Maria from Wal-Mart sent us here for the crab legs and shrimp. We found what we wanted and more! I love Asian/Indian/Caribbean markets way more than typical grocery stores. So I'm happy that this location isn't too far from home. The 35/40 shrimp was $4.99lb (raw/shell-on)!! We got lychee fruit. Picked up a package of spicy noodles that every YouTube channel has tried (they were delicious, actually. Heat & hint of sweet) Even had a light meal of sushi & miso soup( best miso soup I ever had) So authentic! So fresh!! They were super friendly, funny, and helpful here!!! This one is my favorite H-Mart. Everything is fresh and staff is really nice. We eat a lot of seafood and get most of it from here and Sweet Auburn Curbed Market. Lobsters are $7.99 a pound, Live Blue Crab 2.99, and about 10 different types of shrimp they carry. We also get all our ingredients for Pho, Ramen, etc! Love it! read more

The selection of groceries here is great! The produce is super fresh (eat it within a day or two or it will spoil, fresh). There is a huge selection of frozen foods, and I always stick my freezer when I come here. My Taiwanese friend now lives in Chattanooga, and when she comes to visit, she makes a special trip with me to Hmart because she says the selection of food is so much better than anything she can find in Tennessee. read more

The cafe is a great place to stop and have lunch/dinner before you start your shopping journey (you will need the energy along your quest, so fuel up!). Forget about finding a seat during peak hours, though, lest you find yourself bumping elbows with the natives, er neighbors. I must admit: Super H-Mart has a wide variety of everything - from fruits and vegetables to ceramic pots and cosmetic! It really is a "super" market where you can get every necessity known to mankind. Yet, they don't carry my preferred-brand of rice, which is Tamaki Rice. Nor do they have my favorite snack in the whole entire world, Takenoko No Sato in Strawberry Flavor! Hm, I wonder why they don't have them; weren't they able to find room in that "super-sized" location of theirs? Oh, the mystery! On top of all that, I did not expect to play go-kart with shopping karts of ferocious soccer moms upon my arrival at Super H-Mart. When a soccer mom makes her appearance, you know she brought her troops, the uncontrollable, ultra-energized kids. You know, the typical "MOOOOOOOM!! I really really really want this, this, that, and that. Can I have them? Please please please please please?" Well, these kids run around the whole place as if it's Chuck E. Cheese. Perhaps I should be thankful that they don't have pizza in their hands? So here you are, trapped in a little corner, in midst of running and screaming kids with their sole supporters, the moms. I suppose this large grocery shop attracts so many people. Actually, let me rephrase: Too many people. When you find yourself waiting for a parking spot at the end of the lot (or the furthest point from the entrance), you know you got a problem. Every time we are in Duluth we come here even if we done need much. We love this place. It has really good quality meats and seafood. It also has a small food court. The hotdog on a stick is worth getting!! read more
