Who knew that HEB would become my favorite garden center??? I love that HEB put a focus on having native Texas plants. Each week they role out a new sale on plants with competitive prices compared to big garden centers. The plants are great quality and get marked down quickly. Have to always be on the alert as the cashiers do NOT apply unlimited coupons. Bought 3 Frozen Dinners that had an UNlimited coupon. They applied the coupon for 1, and charged normal price for the other two. This is done all the time at the store on Sidney Baker in Kerrville. I can count on one hand the times I have ever bothered to take the time to leave a negative review for a business. This is amazingly one of them. The pharmacy team at this location absolutely refuses to answer phone calls that are routed to them. Every time I call, you can literally listen to the phone ring for 10 minutes with no answer. For a pharmacy. I've called other departments to get someone there to pick up the phone and I've been hung up on multiple times after being told they would. This is pretty disturbing since the pharmacy is literally the last department that should be this irresponsible. What if an elderly person is having a reaction from one of their medications and needs to speak with the pharmacy? I guess they get to sit there and listen to a phone ringing from now until eternity. I expect so much better from H‑E‑B. Absolutely pathetic and irresponsible customer service in this regard. No other way to put it. read more

This place is BIG! There's all kinds of deals to be found here. This is a pretty large HEB, one of the larger ones that isn't an HEB Plus! Just like the Plus stores, this one has an outdoor area where they sell a bunch of locally curated plants and garden decor. They also have a pharmacy! I was stoked to see that they were giving out Covid vaccinations, and since I don't live far from this store, it was an easy trip to get a shot! It's quite a logistical operation to get that many jabs in that many arms. But the store pharmacists seemed to know what they were doing and got us and our paperwork processed pretty quickly. When it was over, the pharmacist cautioned us to stay in the store, but invited us to browse the ice cream aisle! This store has a great selection of pre-made meals from Meal Simple, so if you're looking for a quick bite, that's always an option too! Parking is easy- this place has a giant lot, flanked by a bunch of local merchants and tenants. The entire store was easily handicapped accessible. read more

I understand that this may be a busy time for them, there is a pandemic going on, but that doesn't mean that you get to be overly rude. I called about a defective inhaler that I just opened, and the pharmacist kept talking over me. I couldn't finish a sentence. I finally gave up and hung up because I couldn't speak and it was pretty much 'call the manufacturer, this isn't my problem'. I've been using inhalers for 30 years now, and this is the first one that was defective right out of the box. I didn't know how to handle the issue. I'm sorry to annoy you about trying to breathe. I'm moving my prescriptions elsewhere. read more

This HEB is one of the better HEBs. It's got a lot of cool stuff, and the store is well stocked. It's easy to go bonkers and buy a lot of seasonal items. I've gotten groceries delivered to my home from this store a few times, and they have gotten the order 100% correct each time. The people that delivered my order were very nice, and helped bring the groceries inside, even. They have a pretty good garden supply center for a grocery store. I've used the curbside service here, too, and that was a positive experience. read more

The female pharmacist working tonight was probably one of the rudest medical professionals I've encountered, and I'm around them all day everyday! We were quoted 45-60 minutes for my sons' prescriptions to be ready, so after driving around to keep the sick baby asleep we checked on them at an hour and half...after sitting in the drive through line for over half an hour. We were informed by the lady (technician?) at the window it would be two hours because they were busy and our script wasn't an emergency. First of all, with young children who can decompensate quickly don't tell me my children's medicine isn't a priority to you, especially after I've already waited longer than required to fill one steroid pill! It may not be a priority to you but it's going to keep my children potentially out of urgent care or the ER tonight and keep them from being exposed to more illness. Second, you don't tell someone to circle back around (and wait probably another 45 minutes because the line was even longer now) with hungry, tired, sick children screaming the car. Third, when the girl at the window went to get the pharmacist to talk to us after we said we would wait at the window, the female pharmacist had the audacity to tell us this wasn't McDonald's and she was too busy. She kept talking over us, and from what I gathered by her flustered demeanor maybe shouldn't be working as a pharmacist if she can't calculate the dosage for one medication (which was one already calculated by our pediatrician and two is double checked in her systems so there really isn't brain power involved other than acknowledging warnings that pop up). I can tell you as a provider myself, you should never say things like this to patients. She should be reprimanded and be re-educated on how to interact with customers. We will be taking our business elsewhere, as will our friends in the area and my patients. I will not write a script to this pharmacy again for any of my patients because I wouldn't want them to go through what we went through. Shame on you! read more

After 5 past curbsides I will have to say that service has gone downhill. Every time when I get produce, it's always spoiled or bruised. It's like they picked the worst looking fruits for curbside bc no other customer would choose them!! I recently went inside to get fruit and they're better looking in person especially the peaches!! This HEB is located in a Very congested area. Parking is extremely limited. It appears to be really busy for this vastly growing community and there is not another HEB near for 10 miles or more. The hope is that a HEB plus is added to this area to accommodate the crowds of people who shop at this small location. View the closest HEB from here and you'll be traveling a distance to grocery shop unless you're ok with a regular Walmart across the street. The Walmart is not a Super either. This area is over crowded for the demand. read more

This is a pretty decent H-E-B but their pharmacy is severely lacking. I used the app to out in a prescription refill request for my Vitamin D pills before the COVID-19 pandemic happened. The app asks you what day/time you want the prescription to be ready. It was about 9:30AM on a Monday and I selected 4:00PM that same day. It accepted my request and that was that. I called to check on the status at 4:00PM because I had not received a text confirming it was ready. Sure enough, if wasn't ready. I called several more times that day to check, it still wasn't ready. My prescription wasn't ready for three more days, despite it's simplicity and my approved request for it to be ready days earlier. This is unacceptable -- if it's not possible for it to be ready 6.5 hours later then the app shouldn't allow that to be an option. Other than the issue with the timeliness of prescription refills, I have no complaints about this location. read more

Some of the cashiers have a sense of self entitlement and if they view you as a peasant they treat you as one. They seem almost annoyed by your presence when checking out your groceries and when you hand them H-E-B coupons they are aggravated. I do not expect friendliness but I do expect to be treated with fairness and respect as that is what I project. One of the managers insisted I download the H-E-B app, I know scan and use it while shopping. When they do not work the cashiers have a tantrum, stop everything slump their shoulders and fight you on what the coupon is for. The cashiers and the supervisor stated to me, to my face that just because a coupon is under product - it doesn't mean it's for that product and they roll their eyes and state they "have no clue". Because of this I've started to take photos of the advertisement to show evidence of the in store coupon to the cashier and the supervisor, which mind you they will look you up and down for it. If you don't have your focus on the total, after handing in their own in store coupons / promotions they will not tell you what failed and what went through ie discrepancies. So you have to go through each one and show them qualifying products based on THEIR OWN CRITERIA. I spend roughly $120 every two weeks. I suppose this isn't enough to be a valued customer. Every time I am a burden when making my purchases. I understand this is your part time job while you're in college or HS, but there is no reason to be a diva. I've had part time jobs before and never treated others less than. If you don't want to deal with customers in person, there are other avenues you can pursue. I also do not appreciate the male manager who directs traffic when checking out who has on a few occasions pointed his finger in my face and telling me which cashier to check out with. I can tell a mile away when someone is having a bad day, we all have bad days but in some jobs like mine which is healthcare and cashiers actually are paid more than a 4 year degree - I cannot have a bad day or bark at patients. Humanity is really appalling sometimes and I am getting fed up with the lack of customer support at this H-E-B. read more

I've been to this HEB's deli multiple times and get horrible service almost every visit. I like my deli meats cut extremely thin which makes them have to cut a lot of slices. I get that it's more work but that's no reason to be rude to me about it. During one visit the guy cut me a test piece and I told him it wasn't thin enough and he rolls his eyes then tells me he can't go thinner even though I've had a really nice young lady cut it way thinner for me. They are just lazy and don't want to have to work harder it's extremely frustrating and unprofessional. read more

The parking lot is a frickin' disaster, the store has hanging plastic all over the place, not to mention the dug up floor in the back with a small bulldozer in it. The HEB itself has what you're looking for - standard stuff. My gripe is with the time spent on this project with no finish in sight. I watched them put up a brand new HEB near my work in less time than they've been working on this place. If you have to go here, rest assured you'll find what you're looking for in a typical HEB. Unfortunately, you'll need to pick up a case of beer to unwind after dealing with the frustration of simply finding a parking space and navigating a store that is under construction. read more

This may be the best HEB in San Antonio. It's always clean, the workers are friendly, and I can always find what I am looking for. Luckily, this particular HEB is about 5 minutes away from my house as well. I love the HEB and Hill Country Brands! I will usually choose them over name-brand items. They are just as good, if not better, and the prices are much more reasonable. After living in multiple states and cities, nothing compares to HEB. The best grocery store I have been to. Despite this ive personally know several people who worked here and all of them had nothing but horrible things to say about the store manager. That being said, management is completely absent from customers so if you have a problem then you definitely won't be able to actually talk to management about it. This location received a much-needed remodel which vastly improved the shopping experience; previously this location was too crammed and the selection was very limited (due to size) when compared to other stores in the area. Now that it's expanded the two things that really turn me off about this location are that there is STILL (in 2015 nonetheless) no self-checkout and the fruits, veggies and salads here are HORRIBLE in terms of quality. I'm shocked HEB puts out salads that have browning lettuce or fruits that are already starting to go bad.
