I avoid grocery shopping like the plague but sometimes it's unavoidable. I've been here twice. They seem to everything you could ever want and more. Makes running in for one or two things a bit tedious but at least you know they'll have it! Just a tip if you're an impulse buyer... bring a list and stick to it. H.E.B. is really big and has lots and lots and lots of stuff, lots of stuff that's on "sale". Just remember what you came in for and consider if you really *need* the item you want to purchase. I can totally see going in for a few items and leaving with a $150.00 cart full of stuff. I like it a lot better then Wal-Fart though... talk about walking into hell! read more

Bobby in meat department is wonderful! We bought some filets that had changed color very soon after we bought. I showed to Bobby and he explained it was just air, but fixed me new ones at no charge. The replacements were WONDERFUL and tender! He also had me try new bacon, HEB Pitmaster Split Applewood , that I am still trying to figure out best way to cook! read more

It's HEB. It is a smaller store than most trying to accommodate Brushy Creek residents that I believe has 31k people living in the general area so with that being said some of the things I like to buy they just don't carry. I haven't complained because I don't think that will help, the store is just not big enough to carry everything like the HEB Plus. But it is clean, the managers are always walking around and helping. One bags my groceries a lot, but at least their helping and not sitting on their butts doing nothing. Clean, friendly employees, best time to go is def early mornings or late at night not so much at 5pm or Sunday daytime, it gets really busy. read more

A love-hate relationship with this chain for sure. They pretty much monopolize the grocery store market in TX. The prices are usually fair. The customer service varies from terrible to excellent. I do not trust their own label of organic products, their price difference with regular stuff just doesn't add up. Their produce area is where I encounter the most issues. They lack of organic alternatives and more often than not they try to sell produce that should have been composted already... For full price... Or they may try that "special" price to lure you in. HEB loves using HFCS in their recipes, so do read their labels. read more

I love HEB. I miss HEB. I moved to another state and miss it every time I walk into another store. Mostly because I have to go to three stores to get everything I need. Whereas here? Its a one stop shop! No complaints really, other than their need to restock more frequently as a few items I wanted were just empty shelf space. This place can get extremely busy, but lines move quickly. Just when you didn't think things could get better... they go and improve it even more! I am a little over due for this update. It has been a month or so, but this HEB has definitely UPGRADED its style and the renovations are complete! Most recently the HEB has reorganized the entire store by adding more rows, increasing space, maintaining great "flow" in the store, and widened the products range they provide. If you remember the former HEB and products, they are still there.. so don't worry; but there are many new items to look at. They have the whole sale candy section, whole sales grains section, larger locally made bread section, outdoors section for plants and furniture, larger sections for: baby, home, gifts, flowers, cards, etc. The store now has a locally made bread section with samples! So now you can get the best fresh made Garlic bread and other types around (Garlic is my fave), and it is similar to the veggie section (you can weigh and print prices for the product you need) The whole grains and candy/sweets section is really nice. It is sometimes much cheaper and better to buy the grains you need in bulk, rather than packaged. All in all, I really enjoy the place better. It has great flow, brilliant lighting, product accessibility, and separates the sections appropriately (i.e. baby products are not aisled with condoms and the sort.. though that was humorous.. now all sections have their own unique areas) Additionally, during the whole renovation and remodel they maintained ample enough staff near every aisle to help direct you to what you needed so you didn't look like a totally lost child in a big store (lol). If you have been to the NEW and IMPROVED HEB, give them a stop and shop moment; if you liked it before, you are gonna love it even more now. read more

This weekend it was very difficult finding a gas station that had premium gas. My gas tank warning light came on and I started to feel uneasy having to start a new work week with a near empty tank. I called HEB asking when they would receive premium gas and I was told that they did not have a set schedule for deliveries but that they would call me as soon as their tanks were replenished. I gave them my number but was skeptical in receiving a call back. The next morning I received a call telling me they had premium gas and recommended that I come by as their stock may last only a couple of hours! I greatly appreciate this level of customer service. I have always experienced top notch customer service at this HEB, but this brings it to another level! I don't remember the name of the person who took my number and called me back, but I will find out the next time I'm there and give her praises to her manager. Simply awesome! read more

ThePharmacy tech that checked me out was extremely rude and demanding while asking for my insurance information. I had advised to him that I gave my insurance information to the prior cashier when I had dropped off my prescription. He then went to tell me that was not what he needed and that he needed my actual I.D number, I advised that I would get that and for him to let me know when he was ready for the number. After a few minutes of silence he rudely demands "I thought you have your I.D number???" I then advised him that I said I was getting it and to let me know when he is ready. He then tells me to move my car forward because he can't hear me as he is watching me pull forward. As I start to say my I.D number phonetically he rushes me through . I then tell him he is extremely rude and he said you said you had the I.D number to which I said I gave to you and that you are extremely rude in the profession. My fiancé then says "yeah your kind of a dick" to the pharmacy tech. We sit in silence. He then reads off that I have no co pay and to sign the receipt which I oblige. He asks snardley if I have any questions for the pharmacist and I say no. Never have I ever experienced a rude nasty human in a medical profession. Please train him on hospitality and customer service with a dash of bed side manner being in a medical position. read more

This is my neighborhood store and I love how close it is to our house! The fish, meat, and deli people are very friendly and helpful. They'll get you exactly what you need. They have lots of little demonstration kiosks on the weekend throughout the store that pass out free samples, including wine and cheese parings. The organic fruits and vegetables section has expanded recently for those of you that dig that sort of thing. Very nice floral department too! The back of the store (milk, eggs, dairy, etc.) is pretty cramped. They could use more square footage back there to prevent some clogging. Parking is a little funky because of the nice covered walkways in the parking lot and people drive too fast through the parking lot! Oh, and don't go on Sunday afternoon if you can help it. Local Honey. Great for allergies. Take a spoonful a day for about 3 months. Its an old fashioned remedy from a friend that grew up in central texas. The thinking is the local pollen in the hunny will kinda inoculate you. A bit pricier than the other brands at the grocery store, but it is local and the honey is fresh. read more

Sooo disappointed in the bakery right now. We ordered a cupcake cake for our sons baseball party. It ended up looking nothing like the picture we were shown, they lazily wrote out what it was supposed to say, and to top it off they didn't even take time to properly cut out the baseball it literally has the name of the sticker on it . This review is strictly for their field trip tour that we did today. We had a group of 11 kids and 2 adults, we came for one of their free tours that they do for small groups. Beth was our tour guide, she was so nice, extremely informative and very patient with all the kids and their questions (mine too, haha). We focused a lot on health and nutrition, as well as (my favorite part) how to pick out good produce. They had samples available for us in the produce section, the bakery and the deli. We even got to take home a small goody bag for each kid. read more

I have been shopping at H.E.B. Grocery Store for 20+ years now in different cities in Texas. This location does have a weird parking lot with the covered walkways.. I like the concept of having the covered walkways for when it's raining and such. the store layout if great for a non-plus H.E.B. i shop here if I need to stop on my way home from work. i shop mostly at he new location by the Round Rock Outlet even though there's a H.E.B. Plus with-in walking distance from my house. i will always be a H.E.B. shopper unless I move somewhere that doesn't have H.E.B which would be out of state. The prices are great and you will rarely find something that is out-of-stock. They are starting to get more local and independent tap beers, loggers, and wine in stock. Which I think is excellent!!! O yeah we cannot forget the free sample's of food and wine the they have, who doesn't like free stuff. My only gripe is I wish they had motorcycle specific parking because sometimes i like to ride to the store if I'm only picking up a few items or so. i am finding few places with motorcycle parking that aren't motorcycle specific. Most buisness do have bicycle parking though, I guess you could park there or on the side-walk if the buisness is ok with it. read more

There are very few HEB's in Denton, so you can imagine how happy I was to see one literally up the street from my apartment. I have visited this location a bunch since I moved in, shopping for a ton of different things. Much like every HEB you visit, there are the coupons that you just rip off as you go and the great deals that pop up all the time. What I really enjoy about this HEB is that it is clean, there are a lot of different things that keep you back coming for more, and the checkers are all super friendly. I've needed everything from a money order to just basic groceries, and I've yet to be disappointed by any of it. Definitely a great place to pick up what you need for any of your home needs! read more

Clean, good staff. All the items we need are here. Layout makes sense. HEB brands are usually pretty good. Only downside is that sometimes they are out of my brand of something, sometimes it is vendor fault not theirs, sometimes it is because wierdly some items are on manual order. For example, the laundry soap I use has a couple of hardcore buyers but there were not enough of us to keep it on automatic rebuy (why? i don't now.) So sometimes they are out. So here is the cool part: They were out of my soap and the manager apologized and gave me a free bottle of the HEB brand similar to my brand. Gonna try it out this week! read more

Always love coming to HEB when I'm in Austin. I wish they'd come to Dallas already. People say, "Oh well Dallas has Central Market." But it just feels different. HEB is very humble and approachable. They always seem to have reasonable prices and their meal deals are steals! Their produce is always fresh and shiny. Their butcher and deli area always looks great. I love this HEB! Over the years I have gotten to know many of the long time employees and it's always so pleasant to see them. I especially miss Stephanie, who retired this summer. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The store is always stocked well, even during busy seasons such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. The store also always seems clean and organized. My only complaint about the store it that they are slowly eliminating many of the brands I like to replace them with their own. It's getting hard to find some items unless you want generic or HEB brand. read more

During the gas panic over Harvey I found they had gas here on an app. They had two hosts outside directing traffic and had an entrance blocked off so no one could cut in line. We got through smoothly and didn't witness fist fights like at other gas stations. I'm super impressed with HEB lately, more than ever, for their disaster relief efforts on the coast and their organization and kindness here. read more

She got on the phone and turn the light off and imediately to talk to someone, so she can to go to the restroom. She didnt bother to ring up my items so i can pay and leave, she just run off. It's been 8 years since I last reviewed this HEB, and I can't say it's really changed for the better. As others have mentioned, they still struggle to stock basic items, e.g. Zapp's salted chips, canned pumpkin, produce items like herbs and cabbage. They still struggle to keep hand baskets and small carts stocked at the East entrance. Now I have to complete with the large curbside HEB carts pushing customers around in the store. Curbside HEB staff shoppers don't even say excuse me, and just expect regular customers to yield to them. And, they still don't have enough sackers. Expect to sack your own groceries or wait for the checker to sack them. When is this place going to be managed better? I guess HEB corporate doesn't care. This is my grocery store of last resort, and I only go here when I need a product quickly because it's only 5 minutes from my house. Otherwise, I go anywhere else. It's so bad that my husband and I call this store the "bad HEB", as in , "Where are you going shopping?", "The bad HEB". read more

I was here picking up some groceries for a client in Round Rock and I needed help finding a couple items. The guys who helped me out were super sweet and very helpful. They took me right to the products I was looking for and made sure I didn't need help finding anything else. The cashier was really nice and friendly. She was engaging and personable. They have a very limited selection on most things and don't have the best offerings when it comes to fresh produce and meals produced at the market for a quick dinner. Love my HEB! EVERYONE seems really nice. Most cashiers are expedient and if they aren't their niceness makes up for it. Clean, great selections. Parking is wonky and there is the occasional blonde in an SUV who ruins my parking experience. Wish they had breakfast in the deli and kombucha on tap. The only neg experience is when bottles in a six pack of rootbeer fell through wet cardboard and broke and shot shards of glass all into my legs. The mgmnt was sweet and gave a couple of Band-Aids ..but really I found glass for weeks and had to leave BC I was bleeding so much. Not ambulance worthy but I if was a manager I'd have done more than a couple of Band-Aids. Please take down the pineapple orange juice sign in fresh squeezed juice section. I want some REAL BAD and there never is any. That sign taunts me and reminds me that I want it. read more

Not the greatest HEB - the parking lot is a little difficult to manuevar around in for several reasons and the staff is not always helpful. Sometimes it seems understaffed, given a tendency for longer lines, and long wait times at customer service. The produce can feel a bit picked over regardless what time you go. It is clean and lives up to minimum HEB standards. read more

This is our closest HEB and we have been customers since the grand opening. Unfortunately the quality continues to decline, either lack of stock in typical items or stale and rotten. We have returned chicken, produce, and most recently bread purchased yesterday and when opened for breakfast this morning let off a horrible stench. I was asked to wait to speak with a manager but after 5 minutes went home. On leaving I saw a customer returning rotten fruit. Most of our neighbors have given up on this store and drive to the 79 or University locations in Round Rock. We should do the same, which is a shame given the convenient location, I'm not sure how profitable this location is but some minor improvements and clean up would go a long way. read more

Everytime I go into my local heb I am greeted with great customer service and feel very welcomed into the store. I recall one of my best experiences with a cashier, Alex. She was very attentive and went above and beyond to make sure I was able to continue to have a great experience. The store was incredibly busy and she took the time to leave the front to help me search for an item, the entire time she was genuinely caring and friendly. 10/10 experience! as a continuation I had the most helpful manager! Ben. He was very patient with me and prior customers and went the extra mile to make sure we were all happy! Will definitely be returning my business here. read more

It's always busy at this location. Try to avoid between the hours of 3-6 on the weekdays. I go to many stores across the city but go here the most. Keeping items stocked on the shelf could be a little better though. It does have a nice book and magazine section. read more

The Cat Hollow store is my local HEB location. I'm in there probably three plus times a week. Fortunately, I can shop during the day and miss some of the crush of rush hour shopping. I've been in there in the evening and it's packed crazy busy with people trying to get in and out on their way home. Weekends are usually pretty busy too. Unfortunately for the consumer, this is the most convenient HEB for a very large area of family neighborhoods. It would be fantastic if this store were about double the size based on the local population. Anyway, my disappointment with this store is that their produce doesn't always seem to be the best or freshest. Maybe their stop is the last on the delivery route or something??? but I've often bought produce here and gotten it home to find its bruised, wilted, or already aging and goes bad quickly. Also, frustrated at how often I find basic, favorite products out of stock. I guess everyone else is buying those things too, but it sucks to leave the store missing something off your grocery list and have to go to another store to get it. Anyway, I'm sure I won't stop shopping here because it's just so convenient. On the whole I like HEB and this location is OK too. read more

I had to create a Yelp just for this: a long Pharmacy complaint. I have read a few others and completely agree. My family, friends and I have been going to this Pharmacy for almost 10 years. We were excited about the remodel, thinking it would put a pep in everyone's step that worked there... we were wrong. Firstly: the staff. The faces have not really changed there over the years, and the staff remember us by name usually. Thats a plus. However the attitudes have changed. The staff frequently is just sitting around on their phones, eating or seemingly hiding out of view where the customers can't see them and they can't see us. There have been more times than i can count that I have stood at the counter and watched a line form behind me because no one is paying attention. A pharmacy in a grocery store is supposed to be convenient, but I end up waiting longer to have someone notice me needing help than I do for my prescriptions to be filled. One time my husband said "excuse me" after he and I stood at the counter for almost 5 solid minutes. when the long haired blonde girl, her name was Shelby I think, looked up from her phone, she had an attitude with us the entire interaction, like it was an inconvenience for her to help us. I deal with sassy teenagers all day at home, I don't need to pay for that service at my pharmacy. This is the same girl that gave us, our friends and even our kids attitude when we were inquiring about covid shots. Her and the shorter pharmacist, who was awful to us, made us all feel so unwelcome and guilty for even asking that we all went to CVS down the road, where they were more than happy to help. then there is the issue of "casual conversations" that can be heard by my family and children as we shop outside the many windows of the Pharmacy. I have had to scoot my cart with my children quickly away from ear shot because of the language/topics we overhear. I almost said something to the store manager, but my husband stopped me in fear of somehow being retaliated against since we use the pharmacy. The last experience I had there this week will be the last experience I have there. I went to pick up my child's adhd medication. the young blonde girl who I didn't recognize, helped me first was very nice, and helped me to a point, but she is new I am assuming, and tried to ask the pharmacist a question when she got stuck. The shorter woman pharmacist wouldn't even come over to help her & yelled something rude to her and goes "well I'm busy they are just going to have to wait" to which I could tell this poor girl was embarrassed. She kept apologizing to me, I told her I would shop then come back in 30minutes. I felt bad for her. When I got back to the counter per usual no one noticed I was there. I watched the normal long haired girl sit on her phone for 6 minutes (I counted) before she finally noticed me she greeted me with her usual attitude. Told me it would be another 20 minutes before I could pick up my child's medication, to which I could not believe, I was very annoyed. I told her i already was waiting, which apparently annoyed her, because she went on the computer and started reading all the times I have filled my childs medication out loud for everyone to hear as if to shame me into shutting up. I was so embarrassed & angry I walked away. If the staff has time to be on their phones all the time, why do I have to consistently wait and come back for my families medications? It is so inconvenient. My family and I also love HEB, but the staff at this pharmacy are so unprofessional and rude, It is ruining us even wanting to shop at the store. We were trying to stick it out until the new WalMart is built, but I don't think I can. I feel I cannot complain to the pharmacist because they seem just as rude if not ruder than their staff. I actually tried a month ago to talk to the other woman pharmacist about my concerns, but when I started off with a question about masks, she practically yelled at me saying masks were stupid and pointless. It was not something I wanted my children to hear from a "healthcare professional" since I have a hard enough time getting them to wear their masks. As a whole, this pharmacy just seems like a mess. read more

I was so hoping the new HEB on University, by Ikea, was going to be a Central Market. Do the folks in corporate think Round Rock isn't cultured enough to support a specialty grocery? I was very disappointed when they said it was going to be a "superstore"...whatever that means. I love HEB and you can't beat their quality and prices, but I think it's high time a city of over 100 thousand people can support a Central Market. Instead of bulldozing the store, HEB remodeled this location to add a bunch of crap that you can't eat. The store has lots of room now and houseplants and t-shirts and beach balls, etc., etc. It takes years to map out a store, so, that you can go straight to the goods without a painful search. The new aisle signs are hard to see and the arrangement must have been plotted out by someone over eight feet tall with perfect vision. The beer and wine section was moved to the middle of the store. Before the remodel it was tucked away in a corner near an entrance/exit. Now you have to trek thru a hundred yards of screaming kids, seniors on electric shopping carts and moronic label readers just to pick up a 12 pack. Seems there have been very few "specials" on steak since the remodel. However, I still like HEB and the employees are always helpful and kind. I just wish they would have left this location alone and left the beach balls and potting soil at Walmart. read more

Thought I'd finally review this HEB since I go almost daily. This location is almost perfect as far as I'm concerned. The only thing holding it back from 5 stars is the fact that their manager(s) aren't the best at inventory control. I find an item or two that is out of stock too often. I used to shop at other HEBs before we moved to our current house and I can only recall a few times over the past 20 years of ever finding out of stock items. Other than that, I love the fact that it's NOT an HEB Plus. Really don't care for those versions that try to be a Walmart. This store is large enough but not too big. read more
