Time for a little HEB love. It's not so much to store but what it stands for - friendly, and support for the community. But I digress. This is the HEB Plus. Essentially if you need it, it's probably here. Flowers, bulk foods, freshly baked goods - had to pass on fresh Key Lime Pie, fresh sushi - had to leave that behind too. We did get some fresh & warm flour tortillas to take back to NM with us. As we checked out another cheerful face made sure we found everything we needed. Can't say we've ever had a bad shopping experience at HEB - this one was no exception to that.

Tried to return chi mega size shampoo and conditioner and was told that HEB does not stand by products not made by HEB. It is past 90 days so unable to return unused product. Item is currently sold on shelves at HEB. Thank you

While staying with a good friend for a few nights, we had a chance to stop by this grocery store close by. It is more than just an ordinary market. They sell gasoline too. Prices were reasonable, and I'd be a regular if I lived in Katy, Texas.

HEB Plus has gone under a major makeover. Departments have moved around and expanded. Gone is the huge electronics section that was in the middle of the store. Also the chef's case is gone. Now expanded are housewares, healthy living, flowers, wines, cold prepared foods, deli and cheeses. Outside there are plants or BBQ/grill related wares for sale. Every now and then, there will be cookouts out front too. Like during Hatch Chili Season or crawfish season. It's a nice store to shop at. You can find all sorts of international food stuffs. Not quite the abundant selection that Fiesta in Katy has, but nonetheless pretty nice. The produce section is ok. If you decide to shop in the morning, everything has been nicely stocked. The hot chili pepper section is not that great. The variety is limited. There's also always freshly prepared guacamole and a little produce section for the little ones. In this bin, kids can leave 25¢ for a banana, orange or an apple. The meats are so neat. The butcher counter features the best cuts and freshly ground meat. You can find a few game/wild meats here too. Like rabbit and bison. There is a little bit of everything for everyone. The makeup section is nice. They also feature Chi products and sulfate free shampoos. The skincare items they carry are reasonably priced too. Whatever the season, there are a few aisles dedicated to the appropriate selling items related to it. Like summer, Halloween, Christmas, Valentines etc Every weekend, the sample ppl are out all over the floor. Making food and sometimes they have wine too. It gets pretty crazy during the weekends and if there is a major holiday coming up, plan to shop ahead of time. This place sometimes isn't well stocked during peak times. There have been a few Saturdays in which the dairy, bread and baking sections needed to be desperately restocked. There is a RediClinic inside of this HEB if you need to see someone for urgent care or general checkup. Also, a cell phone repair store. Overall, it's a good store with great prices.

HEB is where I go now when it comes to getting grocery meats and vegetables. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are also good, but they don't carry the inventory that you find at HEB. I would give this place 6 stars but five is the limit and anyway they lose a point for my having to put up with the commando parking and traffic situation out front. As a parenthesis, I have been struck twice in the parking lot while walking. Once by a cart boy who pushed a train of carts into me. Newton was right about Conservation of Momentum. Opps, I'm rambling.... back to the story: I like how HEB commercials are showing where they get their stuff. That's cool even if haven't fact checked it. I want to trust JJ Watt. Craft beer and wines: I was surprisingly pleased a few years ago when HEB added specialist who could guide you through their wide selection; including local beers and texas wines. People I ask, and today I interviewed a few, all tell me that they like HEB because the food is always fresh. So it is.

Disappointed in Christian the bagger this morning. A large cylinder of Oats and hotdog buns...really I expect better!
    Mary F.

I am disappointed that the bagger in this case Christian would put hotdogs buns and a large cylinder of oats in the same bag. Out of 8 buns I redeemed 2.

I have been on hold for over an hour, they didn't gave me all of my curbside items I ordered. I understand this happens but to not return a call. I have a patient with a broken leg and it has taken HOURS out of both of our day to try and get some food. Very very unhappy with this experience.

I would also like to inform y'all that HEB Pharmacy has some of the most affordable RXs around and are $4 generic even without insurance.

I had an extremely poor curbside experience at this location…read more I placed a curbside order scheduled for pickup between 1-2 PM. At 9:00 AM, the app showed my order as "ready" and indicated that my organic whole milk had been substituted, but it did not list what the substitution was. I also realized I needed to add one more item, so I attempted to call the store. I called the store over 10 times throughout the morning and no one answered. Because the order showed as ready, I went to the store to pick it up. Upon arrival, I again called curbside -- no answer. I was forced to go inside, which defeats the entire purpose of curbside pickup. The store was nearly empty of customers. Several employees were standing around; one was eating. I spoke to a person who appeared to be a manager and explained that I had been calling all morning with no response. There was no apology or urgency. I was directed to another employee who appeared confused by the order. When I asked what my milk had been substituted with, I was told 2% milk, which made no sense given that I ordered whole milk. When I asked why it wasn't substituted with another whole milk, there was no explanation. I was then told that whole milk was out of stock. I personally went to the milk section and found the shelf fully stocked with whole milk. I brought it back and showed the employee. He said it "must have just been restocked," yet no one had bothered to check before making the substitution. I was then told that nothing could be changed or added to my order, and that if I wanted additional items I would need to place an entirely new order -- while standing in an almost empty store. At that point, I was told I could place another order and the employee could shop it, which completely defeats the purpose of curbside pickup. I paid over $140 for a small order, received incorrect substitutions, could not reach anyone by phone, had to walk into the store anyway, and still could not get basic service or flexibility. For the prices Sprouts charges, this level of disorganization, poor communication, and lack of basic customer service is unacceptable. I will not be shopping at Sprouts again.

Raw meat packaged here seems to last longer than other markets. Sandwiches made on the spot. Good for lunchtime. I remember I used to go for this during lunchtime from my hometown. What I don't see from Spouts anymore, or any Sprouts are the self serve hot soups. When it comes to produce and veggies, these cost a little more or sometimes the same price as HEB. But Sprouts' interior design looks much better than HEB.

My four star rating is for Derek in the money services. I purchased a gift card last October and…read moregifted it in November. Fast forward to January. My person reached out and could not use it. Went to the store and was told they can't help and call this number. Over 2 hours on hold back and forth only to be told to back to the store. I had all my receipts, the card and emails from Kroger corporate and the gift card company - black hawk network. At first Derek said they couldn't help. But after reading the emails and making a few phone calls, he made it right. I am so happy because I would have been out of 200.00 as I had replaced the gift card to the recipient. Thank you Derek for helping me. Long story short, lots of scams out there on gift cards but be persistent to get the resolution you deserve. Also check the gift card packaging carefully.

I live in Katy. My go to stores are HEB and Kroger. Kroger is easiest to get to from our house…read more Beware of Kroger meat department. It's not necessarily the local store. Awhile back I bought a package of pork chops. When I opened it up at home the top chop was nice, but underneath the other five pieces were not even chops. Four were 'kind of' pork steaks but mostly bone. The last one was all bone with a fringe of pork around it. Lesson learned; for pork chops I go to HEB. In the meat case my Kroger used to carry Nolan Ryan prime ribeye, they don't now, so now I buy steaks at HEB. Last straw. I bought a Heritage Farm whole chicken at Kroger because my granddaughter wanted beer can chicken for Christmas dinner. I opened the package to brine the chicken tonight, Christmas Eve, and the chicken was sliced stem to stern down one side exposing one side of the breast and the leg quarter flapping loose. If you have ever done beer can chicken you will understand the problem. It's Christmas Eve!! Have to go with it, maybe I'll try to sew the skin back together?? Lesson learned, I don't buy meat at Kroger.
