The people that work there make the place so much better. It's already a quality place but the people, just wow. Today, I ran in for flowers and brioche bread. A lady shopping for flowers struck conversation and I mentioned what today was for me. A tough day. I had moved on to the bread section and a gentleman came up to me, he was holding two orchids and asked me which one I liked better. I picked the purple one. I thought it was random and was happy to help. When I was finished checking out, the gentleman and another employee came up to me and handed me the orchid I had picked. It turns out that the lady I had talked to earlier had told my story to the two employees at the first checkout. It brought me to tears. What a thoughtful and kind thing to do. Thank you so much! This TJ is not exactly convenient to me plus 99 toll seems to increase every time you jump on it but it was my go to store for years! Not my fav, that award goes to the Alabama Theater location but I love every TJ's! The workers are typical to what you'll find in TJ's and the store is always put together well. Sometimes I can't find items I'm looking for but it's usually the items that everyone is buying up. One thing I've learned about Trader Joe's throughout the years is you have to figure out the best time to visit your particular store when their new inventory arrives. I love their ready meal rosemary chicken and wild rice. And the white chocolate ginger pretzels. Can you not love Trader Joe's? Or Traders like my friends and I call it. Trader Joe's is a remarkable place with great grocery items, wellness products, food, and other household items. I've frequented several locations around the Houston area, however, this location is my favorite. For obvious reasons or maybe not. It's conveniently located in the area, customer service is good, and it's rarely packed to capacity with people. I do not like crowded shopping spaces. No ma'am and no sir! I'm past due for a shopping trip to Trader Joe's, but I'll be changing that soon. There are so many favorites here. I'll be back one day or maybe not with some of them? I feel that no matter what sort of diet I'm into they have my stuff & the best price vs other grocers, for example baby arugula only 2$ for an 8oz bag is ridiculous, normally closer to 4$, which adds up when u eat a lot. There are lots of health conscious things for the best price vs ALL other grocers in town (aside from Aldi but they don't have quite all the specialty things TJ does) like grass fed grass finished beef sticks (newest discovery, totally clean too), fish oil (good EPA/DHA/omega3ratio & odorless), European style cheeses like manchego/Gouda/feta; nuts, for which they have them ALL. Seaweed, olive oil, pasture-raised eggs, kefir, SHISHITOS! Cayenne, tahini, almond Kringle, even best price on kimchi! So even tho there aren't many locations, it's worth the drive if you want to save & have healthy foods (or junk too!) read more

Parking sucks here, but I guess that's the magic of Trader Joe's. The line moves really quick and even at lunch time on a Friday it wasn't as crowded as most stores get. Of course I always fall victim to I only came for a couple things and ended up with a shopping cart, lol. The frozen section is one not to be overlooked. They have amazing products. Pizzas are so good. Ice creams come in such unique flavors like ube and green tea. And you can't skip the snack isle. You can find things you can't find anywhere else. The best grocery store continues to set itself apart during COVID-19. I've been shopping at TJ's for years since growing up in Seattle. I was thrilled when they came to Katy, TX a few years ago. You can't beat the unique and high quality products they sell or the outstanding service the smiling crew members provide. Despite the health crisis this store stays open while taking every precaution. Six shoppers are allowed in the store at a time. The line to enter moves smoothly and went quicker than one would expect. Two crew members outside keep it running smoothly with one person sanitizing carts while the other opens the door, lets a shopper out, and the next one inside (while sharing hand sanitizer). Even in times of crisis, this place is always a step ahead! read more

It just doesn't belong here. Trader Joe's belongs in open free spaces with its own full parking lot (like the incredibly awesome one in The Woodlands). It deserves to be the headliner, not an opening act. Beyonce doesn't open for Miley Cyrus, y'all. Yes...The only thing I don't like about this location is the parking. It is tucked into one of the busiest strip mall/shopping centers in Katy that has too much going on, with all of the stores competing for attention and parking spaces. I mean, there are a small amounts of parking spots in front of the store, but that's it. You have to drive around to the back where all of the other stores are in the shopping center and park, maybe? Or park in this huge ass parking garage to the right of the store...which I don't see how it works to take your cart and groceries to it PLUS return the cart. See? I don't even know how to explain it. And I didn't see any elevators to/from the garage. Way too much to think about. Who thought this was a good idea? Send him to la guillotine. read more

I have friends who are TJ fanatics. They used to drive all the way to the Woodlands. Even so, this is one of my favorite groceries. They have lots of fun choices of foods, beers and wines that can't be found at your HEB, Kroger's or Wholefood's. I bought some pumpkin bread mix last visit. When we cooked it up we all agreed it tasted as fantastic as the Starbuck's version but at a much lower price. This TJs is great because it is right in La Centerra and has sheltered parking. So you can wonder La Centerra or dine and then get some groceries on your way out. I imagine they give their staff some kind of happy meal when they start a shift or maybe it's just a requirement to be jovial if you want to work at TJs. Whatever the cause you will always be greeted and assisted by a super friendly staff. read more

This is where I buy my wine and cheese. Tribunal red blend from California is great. Very comparable to Conundrum at half the price. The personal customer service is excellent along with all those samples, so I can try something new. Still the epitome of tasty, succulent, hard to find, and relatively inexpensive food! Clean store, very helpful staff and choices that will make your head spin!! The parking is hit or miss. Trader Joe's is a chain of grocery store that specializes in carrying a variety of food items, especially those from other countries not necessarily as to where they were made, or wherever this type of food originates from. They have a German parent company who also owns Aldi's. This location is semi-conveniently (for us in Sugar Land at least) located in the LaCenterra in Cinco Ranch, so it is definitely not on our normal shopping routes. But whenever we do go to LaCenterra to shop, we almost always make it a side trip to visit TJs. It is also one of the groceries that we (at least for my family) as a dangerous place to grocery shop, because the variety of foods available there almost always make us overspend and so we make it a priority to never shop there when we are hungry, just to help cut down on overzealous spending. I am not sure if it is a Trader Joe's thing, but the different locations I go to almost always seem to be next to or connected to a parking garage of some kind. This one is no different, but the caveat is that you will probably still get sun shined on or rained on for a short distance because it is not a straight covered breeze way of sorts to the market. The store does not have a huge selection of fruits or vegetables or fresh meats, but what it does have is varieties of bread, cereal, snacks, spices, drinks (Wine and Juices), and frozen foods (this is the highlight of most goers, I am sure). There are usually coffee/drink/cake tasting stations in the back of the store to allow you some taste and get your energy flowing for the rest of your shopping experience. Trader Joe's uses brown paper grocery sacks (you can of course bring your own), and I've noticed they are more than generous in how they use these, they typically double sack everything and these are pretty sturdy bags that I love to use whenever I need paper bags. I don't know how many TJs will open in the Houston area, but I wouldn't mind seeing one go up in Sugar Land, because that will make it a lot more convenient for us to shop and occasionally binge shop. read more

Small, boutique grocery store. Wine, cheese, snacks, and frozen items are delicious. Organics and healthy foods are also available. We stopped by on opening day...plenty of specials and tons of people. TJs is located in Cinco Ranch's La Centerra shopping center across the street from the library. TJs is a sister store of Aldi, but focuses more on health food store items. Most items have the Trader Joe's label. Some food samples are available...we tried a delicious chicken salad, but I didn't like the sample of rubbery orange chicken from the frozen aisle. I sampled a good red wine blend, but decided to go with the "two-buck chuck" wine (TJs "Charles Shaw" label). I saw some apples for 69 cents a pound, but also noticed that bell peppers were over a dollar for one. Shop wisely. TJs also has milk and eggs, cereal, and a large frozen foods section. TJs is a great place to go and explore new types and flavors of foods. I especially like the different types of hummus that TJs offers. My wife and daughter like the salad varieties. There is a parking garage nearby as well as the surface parking at La Centerra. Bring your own bags, or TJs will sell you a reusable bag for 99 cents (they were free on opening day). For nearby grocery comparisons: * Sprouts: better produce selection and prices at Sprouts, but I did find some small artichokes at TJs. Both have organic produce and snacks, but I prefer TJs snacks. * Kroger/HEB: better selection on mainstream grocery items. More organics at TJs. * Aldi: both stores have great chocolate, cereal and frozen sections, Aldi's is more of a mainstream store with cheaper eggs and milk. * Costco: some of the frozen items you buy at Costco to feed 40 people you can find in TJs frozen aisle to feed 1-2 people. read more

Super friendly and personable, I was so used to the usual HEB and Aldi cashiers and was blown away by him and his fantastic positive attitude and consideration. Trader Joe's never disappoints, and this location is no exception. The people are friendly, and the food is fun--just as it should be. Their frozen food is better than most, the snacks are always interesting, they have the BEST gluten-free sandwich bread I have found at any grocer in the United States, and then there is THE WINE! I especially appreciate that they took customer safety very seriously during the height of the pandemic.  Parking can be a little crowded, sometimes, but I'm willing to put up with it. Out of all the locations in town, I feel this Trader Joe's has a little more variety. The difference I noticed was more vegan variety. I found vegan tika masala, vegan eggrolls & meatless chicken tenders. I used to visit the voss location quite often & I never stumbled upon these new findings. Overall, I rate it 4.5 stars simply because parking can be a hassle. I feel this location would be better off not connected to La Centerra. Seeing hows there a lot of other places around which share the same parking. Either way this location is closer to me then the Voss or Alabama location. This location is bigger then Alabama & about the same size as the voss location minus spacious parking lot. Ill be a regular thats for sure. Check it out & see for yourself. read more
