This location takes the cake in Katy. It is clean, pricing is clearly marked, they have each section named now with huge letters so it's easy to find each category and employees are actually really nice and helpful! I came here to order a cake after the location on Fry practically denied my request saying "i don't do custom cakes". Even though I was only asking for 2 rings to be drawn on the top. Luis in the bakery took my order with a smile and was extremely nice and helpful. This location is much easier to find items as well and doesn't take you 3 hours to find something. read more

Almost always find everything I want/need & plenty I don't, plus this particular location seems to host new things and have more refined brands/products than others, always friendly associates too. I find myself trying to get it all here vs many stops even as a budget shopper. read more

Very rude older man at self checkout. Yelled at me for simply asking for a price check on an item since Walmart's wifi was not working. He wasn't even busy since no one was at the self-checkout at the time. He was just standing there staring into space when I asked him to help me. Maybe he has a mental problem; I don't know. I came here to let yall know that Walmart Supercenter has really stepped it UP in more ways than one. I purposely visit this Walmart when in the area, because of the "newness" feels. Let's dive right into the departments that I spend the most time in Clothing, Books/Journals/Supplies/Home Decor/Body Products, or Toiletries. As you all can see and may have recognized from many of my reviews and pictures. I am a sucker for all things pens/books/journals. I am obsessed, and it is healthy. Judge yourself, okay?! The journals are soooo nice and not just the covers but the PAPER! Smooth, easy to write on. Yes, Wally World! I stan. The customer service I experienced during a recent visit was top-tier. If we are discussing areas of growth- work on the curbside situation in the app because my order was delayed three times until I made the decision to just cancel it and go in the store. Nothing to do with the staff- but customers can be so nasty and rude. I love to kill a person with my kindness though, we thank the heavens for growth. Go buy a new journal. read more

Walmart bakery on 99 and Morton ranch has the worst employee Luis working the bakery. Did not even greet us. Didn't answer my questions. Was watching his show on his phone. Really disappointed in Walmart. I am a senior citizen and had only $50 to spend on groceries. Because the delivery is $9.95 that took away from my order. Then because I couldn't spend the $35 required I had to pay an extra $6.99. so I ended up spending more than half of the amount of my groceries on their fees! If I could give them a no stars I would. Went to pick up my items that I ordered for pickup through my app and the worker gave my items to another customer. I not only waited 20 minutes (in which I was there at my correct time) but the worker asked me my name 2 separate times and still somehow screwed up. On his 2nd approaching me he tells me 'please don't be mad at me, but your order was given to someone else', but I've called them to bring your groceries back'. Why in the hell would I want groceries given to someone else who had to come back from God knows where. More importantly why even offer that instead of apologizing and going to go me a whole new set of groceries. It's the new Walmart and it's very close to my neighborhood, but I've never felt the need to go here before today. So why did I finally go to Walmart? I spilled coffee on my Razer keyboard this morning and I think it was just one spill too many so I started hunting for a new one. After locating the replacement I wanted at a couple of stores which are a 20+ minute drive away, I decided to see if any local Walmart's had them in stock. This one had the exact one and I hadn't been here yet, so I decided to finally make this my first visit. The parking lot of this Walmart feels very small, but the interior doesn't seem any smaller than any other. There are a lot of lines, but the only registers open this morning were the self checkouts and there was a pretty long line because of it. There seems to be plenty of clothing and it is more "open" as in there are no tall shelves blocking your view so you can easily see where the electronics, pet and other sections are from the front of the store. In any case, they did have my keyboard, but it was $20 over the price listed both in their phone app and on their website. I asked the electronics worker about it because I thought maybe there was some mistake, but they said I would have to talk to a manager about matching the price. I'm sure that sounds fine to some and would even sound good to me, except they aren't trying to price-match Target or Best Buy - they have to get manager permission to match THEIR OWN price! They shouldn't have to price-match themselves and I shouldn't have to hunt down a manager to get the price as stated on their own website. I did hunt down a manager and I did get it at the app price, but even the manager looked completely confused. Some may think this isn't a big deal, but this is not the first time something has been marked higher in their store than it was in their advertisement or on their website. This isn't the first time an employee has been confused and told me that they would match their own price (which is just dumb). So basically, I just don't trust this corporation and unless I'm desperate again I likely won't be back. That said, note to everyone who does shop here or at any Walmart regulary - if there is a specific brand item you want that isn't cheap and you see it is available in-store, make sure you double check the price if you go to the store to buy it. read more

Was elated to have a new Walmart within 2 miles of our home. What's not to love when it comes to a brand new store? It's clean, fresh, and best of all, no malfunction to speak of with the shopping cart wheels! Yippie! So far so good, right? Wrong, took one star away because this particular WM has a multitude of skylights throughout the store making it unbearably warm. I was drenched in sweat within 10 minutes, easily feeling as though I was walking through a 90° sauna. It truly left me wanting to immediately leave, find the nearest pool and jump right in it. If I had known this, I would have better prepared myself by wearing a swimsuit, clipping a battery operated cooling mist fan onto my basket and bringing in an ice cold water bottle with me. Took another star away because I was disappointed with their garden center selections. Aside from some garden tools and hoses, it's almost non-existent and leaves much to be desired. I was hoping to purchase some perennials and some paver stones but, unfortunately there were no live plants or pavers to be found on site. read more

We've been driving to the other Walmart near I-10 and Fry since we moved out to Katy, so we're excited to have all this new expansion in 2017. The new Walmart is conveniently located at the intersection of 99 and Morton Ranch. There's not a whole lot to say - Walmart stores generally follow the same template, so if you've been to one, you've been to them all. The Kroger across the street (also new) has enjoyed all of the grocery shopping business in this area for a few months. Now that this Walmart is open, hopefully they'll run more promotions to hang onto business. Choice is good! read more

I use this Walmart all the time as it's noticeably closer to me than the other one. What can I say? It's a Walmart, it's always understaffed and pretty picked over but what else am I going to do? Target is much further away and it's more expensive so when I need cheap crap, I go to Walmart. It's convenient but that's about it. If I had a better option then I wouldn't shop here. Walmart managed to set the bar really low, but just high enough. This one is just not bad enough to make me stop going. Pretty sad, but true. As far as Walmarts go, this one isn't super ghetto. You probably won't get mugged in the parking lot. Set your expectations pretty low and you'll be fine. read more

The service is so unorganized for pickup. My favorite thing is how many unnecessary employees they have standing around. This is my third time for pick up and I always check in prior to arrival like instructed staff my item is never ready once at the store. I could go pick out the item and scan it myself much faster. This is the newest Walmart here in Katy and it seems huge! It will take a while to get used to finding everything. They use upright freezer to store perishables instead of the lower ones. I like! They are competing with a Super Kroger that opened actors the street a few months before they did. They are much closer to my home than the other 3 in the Katy area and newer lol. So far they have been the one that I frequent the most. Eventually I will learn my way around. read more

Good luck getting an associate to answer the phone when attempting to report an issue with a delivery order, missing a $50 item I was charged for and not received. The Walmart app Help Center chat was extremely slow at connecting me with a rep so I thought I'd call the store. Forget it. The phone rang for 5 minutes, and 2 calls at 3 minutes and 54 seconds before the store terminated the call without connecting me to a human being. So much for basic customer service. I went back and forth about reviewing this place... because I didn't want to share my find- this place is 10xs better to come to than the surrounding Walmart. Sure there is only one car entrance (off Morton ranch) but it is so much calmer than the others. Another perk- you can actually find workers to help you and they are happy and pleasant. Price of fabrics is pretty good... especially if you are a novice. Regular price is still cheaper than using coupons for another place located on i10. read more

The Morton Ranch Walmart has the most outstanding associates, especially at the grocery pickup department. It's not the closest Walmart near me, but it is definitely worth the drive! I have been shopping at this location since it first opened. And every employee that I have dealt with has been so professional, polite and truly treats you as a valued customer. But, the grocery pickup staff has always gone above and beyond. This location absolutely has the creme of the crop staff! read more

Spanish lady at self check out on the grocery side always stares me down when I go to this location with my son and I have never stolen anything from this Walmart or any Walmart in general. I had to step in front of the debit card machine to block her from seeing my PIN number because she was staring at me so hard. I looked back at her to get her stop staring at me . She smiled at me and I didn't even smile back . I think it is very rude to stare at someone and not say anything . She never watches white or Spanish, Chinese, or middle eastern customers like that EVER . If you're African American just don't use self checkout on the grocery side. I shouldn't feel like shopping here is wrong or like I'm doing something wrong at self checkout. Please hire a new staff with better overall demeanor !!! Ok so I am giving a review on the Walmart bakery! I have gotten about 3 cakes from this Walmart. All birthday cakes. Needless to say I was shocked after the first cake. Not only was it truly fresh, but moist, and not too sweet and not to bland. But just right. I'm not sure who is in that kitchen but they are wonderful. I have some pictures of some of the cakes I have gotten from them. I even took a picture from the book and posted my cake I received. Exact replica. I don't have to spend 100's of dollars for a good cake. I got it at my neighborhood Walmart! Now I have read other reviews. Yes it tends to get warm but I really don't shop there I needed a last minute cake and Kroger bakery was closed. Yes there are some questionable people in Walmart but I don't go to look at people just get what I need and leave. Customer service can be rude if you don't have a receipt or you trying to return something questionable. That's labeled doing their job. Now auto service center. This review and shoutout is for the auto center crew! I cannot express how much I appreciate them helping me today! I went in for an oil change and tire repair and everyone, from the moment I arrived until I walked out that door, was beyond amazing. I was with my one year old, mom, and 85 year old grandmother (in a wheelchair) and they helped me with my items to my vehicle and helped with my grandmother . I don't remember their names but the gentleman with the long hair in a pony tail and older gentleman deserve some recognition and celebration! I work retail, and that was going above and beyond to wow your guest. I will definitely be going back to this location. Keep being amazing auto crew! read more

Nice shiny Walmart. Nothing spectacular or different about it. I made the mistake of getting an oil change here. I was in a hurry and my normal place was too busy. I swung by here. I saw two cars in front of me - both of which were being worked on before I arrived - and four workers. I thought I would be out of there in 30 minutes. Two and a half hours later and my car still wasn't done. By the time I paid, I had waited just shy of three hours. Never again! I will probably still come here as some items are cheaper than the Kroger across the road, but definitely not going to the auto center again. read more

This review is regarding the vision center inside of the store. I had an appointment yesterday with Dr. Quach and to say I was overly impressed would be an understatement. Dr. Quach was very patient and took time to help my learn in detail why a healthy eye is important. She showed me diagrams and even an eye model. I could tell she actually was passionate about helping people achieve their optimum clear vision. I love this new Wal-Mart! The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's clean and well maintained. I have noticed that when buying produce, not all of the cashiers seem to know their codes or names of vegetables. I tend to do self-check out for this reason if I have a lot of produce and I'm in a hurry. It is a new location so I tend to be forgiving about this , but I'm hoping it gets better.
