Ominous winter coastal low forming & moving in

Almost always find everything I want/need & plenty I don't, plus this particular location seems to host new things and have more refined brands/products than others, always friendly associates too. I find myself trying to get it all here vs many stops even as a budget shopper.

It goes with saying that Walmart has everything we need for all walks of life. Grocery, clothing, furniture, automobile consumables, computer and accessories, .. you name it, they have it.

I came here to let yall know that Walmart Supercenter has really stepped it UP in more ways than one. I purposely visit this Walmart when in the area, because of the "newness" feels. Let's dive right into the departments that I spend the most time in Clothing, Books/Journals/Supplies/Home Decor/Body Products, or Toiletries. As you all can see and may have recognized from many of my reviews and pictures. I am a sucker for all things pens/books/journals. I am obsessed, and it is healthy. Judge yourself, okay?! The journals are soooo nice and not just the covers but the PAPER! Smooth, easy to write on. Yes, Wally World! I stan. The customer service I experienced during a recent visit was top-tier. If we are discussing areas of growth- work on the curbside situation in the app because my order was delayed three times until I made the decision to just cancel it and go in the store. Nothing to do with the staff- but customers can be so nasty and rude. I love to kill a person with my kindness though, we thank the heavens for growth. Go buy a new journal.

4.21.22 I needed a few items from Walmart. This is the newest Walmart that is (kinda) close to me. Today I finally figured out why I don't really like Walmart...well one of the reasons. It's the lay out of the store. It's has a warehouse feel the minute you walk in. Metal shelves everywhere. The staff was not very polite. An eye roll is never polite. (Maybe she was having a bad day...) The store was organized and well stocked today.

It's the new Walmart and it's very close to my neighborhood, but I've never felt the need to go here before today. So why did I finally go to Walmart? I spilled coffee on my Razer keyboard this morning and I think it was just one spill too many so I started hunting for a new one. After locating the replacement I wanted at a couple of stores which are a 20+ minute drive away, I decided to see if any local Walmart's had them in stock. This one had the exact one and I hadn't been here yet, so I decided to finally make this my first visit. The parking lot of this Walmart feels very small, but the interior doesn't seem any smaller than any other. There are a lot of lines, but the only registers open this morning were the self checkouts and there was a pretty long line because of it. There seems to be plenty of clothing and it is more "open" as in there are no tall shelves blocking your view so you can easily see where the electronics, pet and other sections are from the front of the store. In any case, they did have my keyboard, but it was $20 over the price listed both in their phone app and on their website. I asked the electronics worker about it because I thought maybe there was some mistake, but they said I would have to talk to a manager about matching the price. I'm sure that sounds fine to some and would even sound good to me, except they aren't trying to price-match Target or Best Buy - they have to get manager permission to match THEIR OWN price! They shouldn't have to price-match themselves and I shouldn't have to hunt down a manager to get the price as stated on their own website. I did hunt down a manager and I did get it at the app price, but even the manager looked completely confused. Some may think this isn't a big deal, but this is not the first time something has been marked higher in their store than it was in their advertisement or on their website. This isn't the first time an employee has been confused and told me that they would match their own price (which is just dumb). So basically, I just don't trust this corporation and unless I'm desperate again I likely won't be back. That said, note to everyone who does shop here or at any Walmart regulary - if there is a specific brand item you want that isn't cheap and you see it is available in-store, make sure you double check the price if you go to the store to buy it.

So shiny and new! Love the self-checkout.

A typical Walmart, employees are not very knowledgeable of product location and are rather unfriendly and oblivious.

The store sign is as retro as the rest of the strip mall block and has remained a steady place for affordable Japanese imported goods. Compared to other stores in the country, this one is spacious and features an excellent inventory for all to explore. The store layout is simple, but clean, organized, and extremely tidy. Their kitchenware and home goods are my go-to and the office / school supplies are always a hit. Every few weeks the selection of goods changes, so while they have a wide range of products, keep an eye out for seasonal goods like snacks, stuffed animals, and holiday items. From quirky gifts to household items, there really is something for everyone here. Gone are the days where everything was a $1, but most items are priced right around the $1.50 mark and up. I don't know how it's going to look due to the upcoming tariffs, but fingers crossed that the price tag stays relatively the same. Their budget friendly concept means folks will still keep coming, Because parking is in a large shared lot, it's never an issue finding a spot. It may lack the new bells and whistles of its sister location in Cinco Ranch (#2), I'm happy they've managed to expand to offer additional unique options to the Katy-Houston area. When it comes to discount stores, Daiso always has my vote. ____________ (#1) Katy Asiantown. Cinco Ranch. Mason Road. It's the new frontier. (#2) https://www.yelp.com/biz/daiso-katy-5

My mom had bought two coffee pots exactly the same at different times and brought the wrong receipt. The girl who was assisting my mom had the biggest attitude. Not like straight up mean but very condescending and she was all eye rolls. She told my mom that this could not be handled at the store level. My mom asked multiple times to have her card tried and the girl declined. When a manager finally came over the girl finally let my mom use her card and it worked! The amount of attitude and eye rolling she gave my mom after that was ridiculous. Just say I'm sorry, I was wrong. But instead she left and when to go talk negatively about my mom and family to another coworker. I'm sorry but no one was rude to her and she had an attitude from the moment we walked up. I even moved the pot so it would be easier for her to pick up. Not only that but there wasn't even anyone in line. So it's not like she could say she was overwhelmed with work. Maybe she was annoyed she actually had to help someone? No idea but someone needs to talk to her. I've also ordered a few curbside pick ups from the location and they are always missing items or saying they could not find them and I'm having to go in side and get them or get a refund if the item isn't in stock anymore. Highly disappointed in this location.

My four star rating is for Derek in the money services. I purchased a gift card last October and…read moregifted it in November. Fast forward to January. My person reached out and could not use it. Went to the store and was told they can't help and call this number. Over 2 hours on hold back and forth only to be told to back to the store. I had all my receipts, the card and emails from Kroger corporate and the gift card company - black hawk network. At first Derek said they couldn't help. But after reading the emails and making a few phone calls, he made it right. I am so happy because I would have been out of 200.00 as I had replaced the gift card to the recipient. Thank you Derek for helping me. Long story short, lots of scams out there on gift cards but be persistent to get the resolution you deserve. Also check the gift card packaging carefully.

I went to Money Services at Customer Service at 12:30 PM today (10/31/2026) to purchase a money order for $3,000. The staff member pulled out her ledger for a cash transaction, but when I let her know I would be paying with my debit card instead, she immediately snapped at me, stating the debit card limit was $1,800. When I politely offered to adjust the amount to $1,800, she bluntly refused, stating, "Nope, I'm not gonna do it because you changed the amount. I can't help you." Let me be clear: I have zero issue if a money order cannot be processed due to store policy. If she had simply said no or explained the rule politely, I would have walked away without a second thought. My issue is entirely with her hostile attitude and utter lack of respect. To be treated with such unwarranted aggression over a routine adjustment made me feel like I was being turned away like a criminal. Taken aback and too shocked to react in the moment, I walked away. Looking back, I wish I had gotten her name. Hours later, I am still reeling from the experience--her negative energy was so toxic that it stuck with me long after leaving. For Kroger management: While I didn't get her name, the employee working Money Services at Customer Service at this time was a white woman wearing black-rimmed eyeglasses. My family and I do all our weekly grocery shopping here, but enduring this kind of hostility makes us seriously reconsider bringing our business back.
