There was dog pee on a rug that I happened to buy on sale. The rug was zipped in a bag so I couldn't tell in store. Careless employees failed to check returned items before putting it back on the shelf. Rugs are NOT cheap; on sale or not, dog urine should never be put back on the shelf. read more

So embarrassing to shop at this TJ Maxx in Katy. The aisles got stuff on them, either merchandise or stocking boxes. Is this how they do business everyday? I was here in a Monday afternoon. I found ladies' panties hung with the men's belts. Non-sales items mixed with clearance items. Ok. Maybe just a simple labor shortage. But by now, the store should had figured out how to deal with the deficiencies. Why do I see other stores in the country don't face the same. I came to buy a pair of slippers. Got what I wanted with an affordable price and left the store before I go nutty. After I left, the rain stopped. The sunset color reflected on the storefront made me to capture the moment. Very cramped but store is overflowing with merchandise. I could have spent hours in there just browsing but I went in for one specific item. Yuletide decor was being stocked so there were dolleys and boxes all over which made a cramped space much worse. I wish stored would leave basic autumn items up for a few weeks in November. read more

5.17.22 I'm all about TJ Maxx these days. My last purchase was luggage. I can wait to use it for vacation. The prices at other places were almost double and the one I bought was larger. (Bonus!) They also have some great make up, jewelry and foot scrub. read more

Stock here is kind of limited but much better organized than most of TJMaxx/Marshall's locations. There was a man that was taking pictures of sections of the store, not just like one or two things, while people were shopping and it made us a little weirded out. I found out that he was a general manager because he made a point to let me know how "dangerous" it was for me to sit in one of the chairs I was thinking of buying and then followed me around the furniture floor. Needless to say, I did not get any chairs because nobody likes to browse whilst having a man breath down their neck :| The fitting rooms could use some TLC - There was gum, hair, lipstick smears, and really battered chairs. read more

Seriously people you guys are expecting discount department store has the same service of neiman marcus WTH. It is a discount store hello. You get merchandise at a huge discount and do not expect everything to be top of the line come on !!! When you come to the store like this you need to be aware of what you buy, and you need to take your time on selecting and purchasing, and yes you gonna have spotty service. Depends on the employees that is on at the time. I get some stuff at 65 percent off department prices, what can I ask for when I got the prices like that. I choose carefully and ignore all the little stuff that would not effect my purchase and walk out of the store. Never had issues because I avoid the little stuff. This is one of the nicer TJ Maxx stores I have visited in Houston. It is hard to find these last chance clothing stores in Houston that are clean and organized. This one is definitely more organized than others I have been to. There are not many workers around to help you and their bathroom is a little yucky. :/ But I am a picky person to impress with a bathroom. I found some good deals here and wish there were more sizes that were junior sized or 0 - 2 in women's clothes. I also really liked their luggage selection. I would suggest this TJ Maxx for sure. I've scored some really great name brand handbags & house ware items for more than 50% off the retail price! I went out with a girlfriend tonight to do some shopping at this location. We spent about an hour on the floor. The store was bright, the isles were clean, and the associates were friendly. I was amazed at how large the store was and how many departments they had. They had a large jewelry department that seems well stocked. I didn't get past the purses. The purses was an area that I wanted to take a good look at. I had a hard time just walking out with one purse. I had three in my hand, but made my mind up on just the one. The quality and price was outstanding! I may have to go back and take another look because the selection was huge. I only had a brief moment to look at the women's clothing and I will be back next week to see what else I can find. Marshall's and TJ Maxx and home goods are all great stores. read more

This review is going to be ugly. First time to pop in here, 10:30 in the a.m., 99% of the time I walk out with something, the clothing was meh. Perhaps in between seasons appears to be blah. Even the dishes that are compared to Marshall's were meh. Needed a couple of black 8 x 10 frames, either $9.99 or $59.99, odd that a big gap in price range, snagged a couple and headed to check out. Two checkers only, no back up help was requested over the speaker in the sky. Was never approached by a staff member to see if I needed assistance. Waited for 20 minutes and knew that I would miss my next appointment so out the door I went. Did not even peruse the handbag section, must have been an off day for them. read more

This is a good place. I guess. They have good bargains if your looking for em. Nasty bathrooms and low staff. I was looking around and found some ripped pants. They really need to clean up this place. I barely want to go in the dressing rooms. One thing I do like though is their purses and bags. All in all, a three star place. read more

RUDE!!! Horrible management and completely lacking customer service!!! I went to purchase some items over the weekend I want to keep still buy for some reason the tj Maxx I bought them from off of w gray in Houston couldn't get my tj Maxx card to work after I activated it they said it probably will just take a bit to process. I was in a huge hurry cause of a prior appointment. She assured me I could purchase on my debit and then go in to any tj Maxx and swap the purchase so I could keep my points! I've managed retail stores in the past this is easy to do and takes nothing from the store at all! It's helping some one at zero cost. Why even think to say no!? She couldn't be bothered to spend thirty seconds of paid time to help me out with something simple. I can't imagine if something more serious happened on the premises!? Probably she'd just say "no" seems to be the only word she could utter. Couldn't even say hello. I mean she called me up to her register before the other lady had even finished grabbing her items and paying!! Pay employees better or get better employees idk!! But I don't work 12 hrs a day to spend 30 mins rushing over to just waste my time!!! read more

Service reps were relentless with getting me to sign up for their credit card which was annoying. If I say no, let it go! read more

My review is going to be long and ridiculous but in the end I walked away one very happy customer. I am a regular TJM shopper. I love finding great deals, and I've never had any issues with quality. Not until Sept when I bought a Junior Drake purse from a San Antonio location. The original tag priced the bag for $478. The TJM price? $99. Um, YES! Plus it was an awesome bag. Score! Kind of! So within a week some of the strap hardware on one side of the purse started popping off. Fortunately the first couple of times I caught it and was able to out it back together. But then another week or so went by, I'm walking through Walmart and the freakin' handle falls completely off on one side. This bag was not a dainty purse. It was A BAG. So I'm walking through Walmart holding my big honkin' bag together. I ended up trying to exchange the purse a couple of days later. I still had the tags but couldn't find the receipt. Not a problem typically but the tag was coming up with different information so I couldn't return it. I decided to keep the purse (hello, it was a $478 bag) and contact the designer for replacement parts, which they sent me (unmatching, btw). So whatever, the hardware wasn't really noticeable at all (I just needed it to KEEP THE PURSE STRAP ON). Kept the bag (again, a $478 bag) and noticed over time that OTHER HARDWARE WAS FALLING OFF. Except I never saw it happening. At that point it was so long since I bought the damn thing that I didn't even consider trying to return it. Until freakin' tonight when I'm walking through the mall and the damn strap falls off again. Except this time there was no hardware involved, the damn thing came clear off. Wtf?! So once again I'm walking around holding my now janky $478 "great deal of a bag" together. So I went to this TJM to find a replacement purse and ended up talking to the manager, Zina. She agreed that it was a messed up situation and let me return the piece of crap despite the fact that I didn't have my receipt (still had the tags in a pocket) and despite the fact that the TJM tag was coming up with different brand info (not my dang fault!). She totally didn't have to do that, and I am so grateful that she did because otherwise I'd be stuck with a piece of shit and out $100. I was able to get a better replacement purse than I had planned on getting, too. Zina was wonderful, and so was Melissa, another employee who helped me out. The lady I spoke to initially? Not so great. When I walked up to her cash register and started to explain what was going on she didn't even look at me, lol. Then she, WHILE I WAS TALKING, said, "Melissa." I stopped and looked around, confused. When she didn't acknowledge me I got pissed. I asked to speak to a manager and she looked at me like I was stupid and said, "Melissa is the manager." to which I asked how was I supposed to know that Melissa is the manager. What the hell kind of customer service is that? So, all in all? I'm super happy. Zina and Melissa? Awesome. First woman (older black lady, if anyone in management from this store happens to read this and cares) could definitely use a refresher course in customer service. Awful training, managers get very annoyed with new employees who asks question, you can see it on their faces. They want respect from "their" employees, maybe they would get more of it, if they showed their fellow worksmen respect aswell. read more

I found 2 IDENTICAL pairs of pants on the sale rack (one size 6/one size 8) with different prices...the manager would not give me the sale price on the higher marked pair because the "numbers" were different even though she acknowledged the pants were IDENTICAL...this is a ridiculous policy and patently unfair to the shopper...I am an avid TJ Maxx shopper but this really soured me on this store.... read more
