In my opinion: This HEB has changed for the worse since the new management, manager Mike. It's not about customers any more....it's about the manager, Mike. He's rude and not a customer person. He should not be representing HEB at all, Nor should those in the cooking / hand out samples. They seem very bias against African Americans....big time. The Asian woman, Susan, is very rude, as is Miguel, Carlos. Why they keep them is definitely MISMANAGEMENT! They make rude comments, spread false rumors about good customers, especially African Americans. Albert and the other "directors" don't care...they don't do their jobs either. They had been at the HEB Bear Creek, a much smaller HEB, but a good one. The 3 African American women who cook / hand out samples are very good...too bad those at this HEB aren't. We get a lot of curb-side...it has smelled like weed numerous times. Are they smoking weed back there or out in front? Smells like it. With meat prices at an all time high, you would think that some common sense would prevail, but not here at this stores meat department. We had a pick up order here, we were missing half of our order. We picked up at 6:40pm. When we got home we noticed half of our order was missing, from disinfecting wipes to lemons. Once we started noticing we drove back to this HEB on fry/i10 and spoke to the manager in the front. He directed us to the curbside manager by the dairy section. I LITERALLY had to count and check through every bag to tell the manager what I was missing. The manager sent THE SAME WORKER out to collect all the missing items!!!!!! The manager didn't try to help the worker or assigned someone to help for the process to be quicker!!! They had us waiting by the dairy section for 15-20 minutes while the manager sent the worker to get all the missing parts. The manager in the front said he would give us a gift card of $25 but only gave us a $15 gift card for the inconvenience which is laughable. We didn't end up leaving HEB until 8:20PM. Mind you, the WHOLE point of me ordering from curbside was to save time since I had just gotten home from a trip and needed to meal prep. And all I got was terrible customer service, wasted time and a $15 gift card! THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS RIDICULOUS!! read more

Def the lowest tier location, it feels dark & is always to cramped and crowded & often don't have things other hebs have, & only place I've ever been shamed for having slightly more than 10 items in fast checkout. I deeply dislike that the seafood department weighs salmon prior to removing the skin. Why TF ARE you charging me for something I'm not taking home. That's the beauty of selecting your salmon, getting the cut you want, the skin off and paying for what you get. Some HEB locations give me the HEB-y Jeebies. This is not one of those, it's pretty huge and nondescript really. I've shopped at this HEB in Katy on a number of occasions and it's huge and has everything you could imagine. It's a little suspicious, as in there always seem to be managers watching to make sure nobody's taking anything, which is very un-Katy since it's quite a chill suburb with a lot of bougie people, and which is not very similar to some inner city Houston HEB locations I've been to which are less like that. But it's still cool to have it here and it's massive and they usually have everything that you need. And I appreciate those things. This has got to be one of the worse HEB stores I have ever shopped at. The sad thing is that it is less than 10 minutes away from me. Normally I go to Bunker Hill are Fry Road in Cypress to avoid 1550 Fry The Supervisors are rude, the employees look unhappy and there is no sign of customer service For example, I had to purchase dog food for NOLA. my German Shepherd. Against my better judgment I stopped in there. While I was shopping there was an advertisement that said, download app and get $5 off. I stood in the store and immediately downloaded the app. I bought more than I needed just to take advantage of the offer When I got to the register I told the clerk that I needed to use the app for my discount but I could not find it. Her reply was you have to pull it up. I explained that I never used it before. She tried and then called her supervisor. I was told you are supposed to do that at home and it takes a couple of days for it to download. Wait, hold up I said I would not have bought all of this if it wasn't for the app advertisement. What can you do to help me. She repeated herself, like I said...... By this time I became frustrated because I was certain she could do something. She took a deep breath and said I am not supposed to do this but I will override and give you the discount this time. But you are supposed to use the app. In the middle of helping me, she called someone and said finish this I said you are really not showing customer service How can you just walk away. Her response was I am helping another customer, I gave you the discount All right what is your name again because this should have gone a lot different I walked out of the store feeling quite agitated. I've been going to the same HEB for 2 years now and I recently moved so this location is now closer to me. I know I can't be the only person that gets used to their grocery store and was a little sad it has to change... but I'm so pleased with this location. I moved during Covid so the "norm" is a little different but there is always someone standing at the entrance with disinfectant greeting people, the wipes by the handheld baskets are always stocked, and the hand sanitizer station is always full. Employees always have masks on correctly. I've done curbside pick up at this location twice now and it has been so effortless. The employees have been so prompt and pleasant. Definitely makes an already convenient service that much better. Thank HEB! read more

This review requires a little bit of context. I was out grocery shopping in the afternoon at this location, and a lady offered me a sample of gumbo at her station while I was shopping near the Meat and cheese section. I say thank you, then continue looking for groceries. It just so happens that I start choking as I'm rounding the butcher section to where the camembert and brie are located. My vision gets blurry, I can't breathe at all. I'm panicking at this point. I go back around and do the choking sign at the employee behind the butcher counter, coughing everywhere. They all look at me like I'm crazy, even though I am MAKING THE CHOKING SIGN, signaling I can't breathe, and I need help. I was so close to passing out. I was so scared. NO ONE HELPED. In the end, I managed to cough up what was blocking my airways. It was a bay leaf. My anger is not at the huge chunk of bay leaf that I end up coughing up, but at the fact that NONE OF THE EMPLOYEES BOTHERED TO HELP. All of them looked at me like I was crazy and behaved like they couldn't understand me. They kept asking me to repeat myself, WHEN I CLEARLY COULDN"T SPEAK. I work in the restaurant industry. If you are handling food or providing samples to customers, always keep in mind that someone might choke. What if it was a little kid? What if it was an elderly person choking? All those idiots just looked at me all dumb. They could have had a lawsuit on their hands if things had gotten worse. At that point, I'm crying, extremely upset that no oe bothered to help me when I was vulnerable. I let the butcher counter know I was choking on a bay leaf, then am on my way. I pass the lady who gave me the gumbo, asking for water. My body is shaking, snot is everywhere, vision still blurry. The employee who gave me the gumbo is apologetic and I don't blame her at all. She was not in the vicinity of the incident, so she couldn't have possibly helped me regardless, she was too far away. I blame administration for most likely not teaching their employees WHO ARE AROUND FOOD how to know when someone needs help. If you work with food AT ALL, always keep in mind that there is always a chance someone might choke. Especially when you are passing out samples. Overall, the worst HEB in the Houston/Katy area. Hopefully, this review doesn't get taken down. Again, not angry at the sample, I'm angry at employees who are not competent enough to even recognize when someone is choking and calling for help instead just watching then ignoring, and the administration for most likely not training their employees in CPR. read more

I had to take the time to share of the epitome of excellent customer service!!! I called the deli on Friday to order a sandwich tray. After asking questions, placed an order for a ham & turkey sandwich tray for an event the next day. I arrived yesterday to pick up the tray. The guy handed it to me and it was wrong!! It was chicken salad!! My event started in an 1 hr. I was upset but I remained calm. I was upset because the young lady I spoke with the day before repeated it back but not only that during our conversation I stressed that I did NOT want chicken salad!! The young guy called the manager to come down to speak with me. The manager, Chris, immediately apologized for the error and I really appreciated that acknowledgement!!! He stated he would have someone immediately make the correct tray and it would be ready in 15 or so minutes. Not only did they make the correct tray nicely but Chris personally brought it out to me. Then he put the icing on the cake and gave me a card and said the tray was on HEB!!! I didn't expect it and was just wanting to get what I initially requested. However, Chris's level of professionalism, desire to rectify an error immediately, and above and beyond customer service definitely has made me an HEB customer for life!! Thanks Chris!!! I like the curbside service at this HEB however their pharmacy is the absolute worst!! I went thru drive thru to pickup a prescription today. After waiting in line behind 2 people, one behind me, the pharmacist waited on another car that drove up to the front of the line. she left everyone sitting there. when I pulled up she left and another person gave me my prescription, they didn't say hello, may I help you or anything. they shoved my prescription in the tray, didn't give any information on the cc machine and never said one word to me the whole time. as soon as I put the machine back in the tray she walked away. This is the closest H-E-B to my home so I frequent it a lot. I like their selection of meats they are fresh as well as their seafood. One thing about H-E-B that you may not know is that if you buy seafood they will prepare it for you for no extra charge. Whether it's fish, shrimp, crabs or lobster. They carry most brand name foods as well as their own brand. It's a great place to shop. read more

I'm surprised this HEB isn't rated higher. Pre-pandemic this store was always super crowded, so I didn't enjoy shopping there. Since the pandemic I've only used their curbside pickup. It has been wonderful. Every now and then they mess up an order or do some crazy substitution. However they are quick to recognize mistakes and take steps to fix them. Curbside employees are courteous and prompt. The shopping app is well stocked so I usually find what I need. I shop there 2-3 times per week and has always been a pleasant experience. Curbside works so well that I haven't had to ho into the store in over a year. The pharmacy does a decent job also, no complaints yet. Prices are better than their competition, so what's not to like? read more

Worst location ever. There is no parking because employees parks in the front most of the time. The bakery is rude. I order a cake for my husband I had ask for strawberry filling and fresh strawberries. They said okay. Cutting the cake the only had strawberries no fillings! It was upsetting but I couldn't go without serving cake. Luis is great. He makes custom cakes. I'm pretty sure he didn't make my cake because he told me whoever works on the cake could be someone random. So I ask Luis if I could get custom cupcakes. He said sure if I could bring the cupcakes pictures and the toys. Thursday around 4 I come to book the cupcakes for my sons bday another guy took my order. He flat out told me know because the baker said it's too much work. He said " heb only wants us to work 30 mins or less on a cake" so much for putting work into the cake no wonder my cakes were messed up. So I ask for strawberries and strawberry fillings. He said no because the bakers don't wanna put much effort. So I ask for strawberry fillings. The cupcake I wanted was one side with blue clouds , one side with grass frosting, and the other one was blue water swirls for paw patrol characters. So I decide to order the fire fighter cake and add the paw patrol toys later. Also he told me the cupcakes were sent from San Antonio. That is pretty disgusting to have it sent in a closed truck to another store. Shouldn't it be made fresh? I came up to pick up my cake it took the guy 10 mins to find my cake. And he even walk around confused where it was literally on top of the counter. Another baker ask him what happen all the guy did was shrug and pointed at me. Oh my god come on. I'm officially a fan of HEB! I love their fresh produce and the fact that they offer a large selection of their own grocery store brands that are reasonably priced. It is also very interesting how each HEB store is designed for the area where it is located and carries certain items based on that location. I really like the HEB in the Memorial area. The only thing I don't like about HEB, hence the 4 star rating, is if you go shopping on Saturday or Sunday afternoon, you are jacked! The store is overcrowded and you'll be lucky to find fresh produce or other high need items stocked and available for purchase. read more

Imagine if you will, a Sunday where Chinese New Years and the Super Bowl intersect, and I'm the one left with the last-minute task of procuring ice & beer. I brave my way into my local H-E-B where the sports fans are already emptying shelves. The ice machines are low, and lines are atrocious. I grab what I need, and stand at the self-checkout line. No one wants to be in a long line at the grocery store, so we all grin and bear it. Some start fidgeting, and voicing their frustrations, while I'm just shopping for truck parts on Amazon. Suddenly I'm approached by an older gentleman who extends the most perfect, open box of powdered donuts my way. I grab one, thank him, then as he turns around I get his attention, "Sir!" He spins around as if on casters, and I tell him "No store does more than my H-E-B." This why why my kids love their neighborhood store, and why my money will always go to Texans. read more

Most people don't revert to Yelp to help them decide which grocery store to shop, but I did. It was between this one and Randalls. Both are super close to each other and this one won over the local Yelper in comparison. First off, I hate coupons. I've been there and done that in my days, so no judgment toward the couponers. I just now hate that you have you snag a coupon in order to get the sale prices here. They're posted in front of each sale featured item, but IMO it's a bit of a pain to carry the coupons around. Other big name grocery stores that I've shopped at, you just sign up for their savings card and boom, you get the sale prices. The watermelons were advertised as 'Texas grown', but the sticker on my watermelon said Missouri. I only noticed because I snapped a photo. In addition to that, it was full of seeds, not seedless as posted. Out of 6 peaches that I purchased, 2 were rotted. I would definitely avoid the produce if I came back to any H-E-B locations. read more

The easiest way I can summarize how I felt after my most recent visit is to paraphrase a line from the movie Jackie Brown. "What happened to you, man? You used to be beautiful." They are renovating and with that they are adding some items they may not have had before and removing others. Everyone has their staples - the things they have to have around the house. For me that's sharp cheddar and I want to be able to buy at least 16 oz at a time. I don't want to run out. Well now it's all 8oz and over half of it is medium or mild cheese. Yuck. There also were a large variety of sodas and that has dwindled since one whole side of the aisle is water now. I was hoping to get my Dr. Brown's again, but I guess that was why it was on sale last time - to get rid of all of it and not restock. This is my 2nd time ordering. I was disappointed again. I asked for chocolate and vanilla (half and half)I was told it's possible. but only got vanilla.
