What a weird location. This Walgreens is visible on Westheimer but can't get there until you drive to a side street. Getting back to Westheimer is also weird. Weird on the outside was not as bad as inside. I was looking for a bar soap. I saw the shelves but I can't get to it because it's so low on the ground. It doesn't make sense. Why are the shelves so low? They used a huge space for cosmetics like a department store and sacrificed sleeves spaces for small things like bar soaps. I'm not a tall person. Consider someone taller than me shopping here and trying to get bar soaps. Gee. If you have the patience to deal with the impossible, come here anyway. They open 24/7 is only reason I gave one more star. read more

Misplaced my medication while traveling. Pharmacy intern, Peter, ignored this when I called to request a refill. He accused me of abusing my medication, asked me how many pills I was taking a day, guessed (incorrectly) as to the condition for which I take the medication and told me if I had to take that many pills every day I should contact my doctor. I just left them behind while on a trip. He treated me like a drug addict and made me feel horrible just so I could get the medication I needed. read more

But the main problem is that they've never had what we needed on a number of occasions, and they still haven't been able to provide us what we were looking for on any of our trips here so far, and they're not too friendly either. read more

I honestly have to say, I so was impressed with the level of cleanliness, the gloss and the shine, just had me mesmerized. Every isle was in place as were its products, the shelves were full. They had my munchies spicy peanuts and tea. So, is there really a recession, or such a high demand, to cause inflation? I stopped into this Walgreens for a few necessities during my trip. It is conveniently located next door to my hotel and it was easy to walk to. There are wide sidewalks and crosswalks for pedestrians. When I first walked in, I was wowed by the beauty section. It really felt like I was walking into a Sephora, complete with a beauty specialist and its own checkout lane. I browsed a little bit here before moving on to get what I came for. The rest of the store is organized well and everything was relatively clean. I appreciated that nothing was locked in a security case, which is the set up at my local Walgreens, so it was easy to get what I wanted. The downside was that almost everything I needed was out of stock. Checkout was simple and the employees at the counter were friendly. This location is open 24/7, so it was nice to know that it would be available in a pinch. read more

Covid precautions are in place, fast friendly service. They have the largest beauty department I've seen in a department. They have tons of products from the typical store brand hair and beauty products but also have tons of brands that you don't generally see stocked in a drug store. This is a gold mine for visitors from out of town who may have forgotten to pack their go-to product and really prefer to get it over trying something new. read more

I normally wouldn't write about a Walgreen's but if you love beauty products, this particular location is a Galleria like experience. Right when you walk into the store you'll see the boutique like cosmetic beauty bar with what seems like a hundred kinds of beauty products ranging from the latest nail polish to skincare, to color cosmetics. You could spend hours looking through their boutique like selections. Everything is neatly organized (you can actually see clean shelves with no dust) and merchandised to perfection that you literally will be leaving with a basketful of the latest in beauty products that you never knew existed. If you're looking for AS SEEN ON TELEVISION products, look no further as they're mostly tucked away in the impulse aisle where you line up to pay for your purchases. Super rude Pharmacy Staff! They act like they are put out if you walk up and have a question. Just got off of the phone with a REAL SMART A33! They truly need to be educated in the art of dealing with the public. In addition, the amount of vagrants that lurk around the front of the building and inside the store is ridiculous. Bad service all around, few want to help with anything, and very bitter environment. And don't dare go through the drive through for medicine pickup - they leave you sitting there with no regard and when you finally get their attention they act like they were doing you a favor by coming to the window! I have been going to this location for years hoping things would change and disappointingly they have not. Just a new set of bitter attitudes. It's bad enough that insurance and pharmaceuticals are so expensive to begin with, and it's even worse when pharmacy techs can't get your insurance right. They told me that my insurance is expired although I literally just used it at urgent doc less than an hour ago, and the payments come out of my check every week. Currently paying out of pocket for meds, then never coming back to Walgreens again. Might consider a lawsuit if this is what they're doing to people. A Sephora in the Walgreens, Whaaaaaaaat??! No, okay, it's not actually Sephora, but it definitely felt a bit like it! Have no clue what I'm talking about? Don't worry, lemme catch you up real quick. So, it has been a while since I stopped by my favorite Walgreens (Like any true last minute Htown procrastinator, this 24-hour Walgreens has been such a convenience on so many occasions). I swung in today to pick up a moisturizer, and as soon as I stepped past those automatic doors, I looked up from my celly, halted to a stop and did a double take. I had no idea this location got such a polished makeover! The new store layout is terrific, but the super exciting thing is the brand-new LOOK boutique that's graced this location. It's apparently only been open less than a month (the first Walgreens to get one), came out of the Duane Reade stores in NYC, and is currently the only one in Houston. The LOOK boutique is brightly lit, and emanates part of a department store's cosmetics area/Ulta-feel, and offers a selection of various European skincare lines (Eau-Thermale Avene, Klorane, Lierac, La Roche-Posay, Vichy, etc), popular fragrances/colognes (D&G, etc), makeup (purminerals, etc) and very cute nail polish (pop, etc). You'll definitely be shocked if you haven't seen this store since the renovation! Now Walgreens still carries the classic drugstore makeup lines, so not to worry there; it's just an addition to their already sizable store. This little beauty carve-out also has specialists on-site to assist, their own check-out counter, and they'll even send you off with a cute little bag (hey, it's a drugstore!) along with a few skincare samples to try with your purchase (sound familiar?). It seems like a great idea, at least once you figure out which line works for you. I appreciate the aesthetic atmosphere, and it's a terrific alternative to not having to run into the mall to pick up those occasional cosmetic essentials. Now, as long as I don't break out from this new line, I'll definitely be stopping in again soon! read more

Waited for 15 minutes before asking the pharmacy if they could help and apparently they can't either and told us to hit the button which we had already done. Continued to wait for another 15 minutes before having to purchase kids allergy meds only to see the "customer service specialist" at the register with 2 other employees. If you're going to have this as a feature you need to have employees who will help it otherwise what's the point. Might as well say these items aren't available after 8pm... read more

This Walgreen's is fancy. Maybe it's the location. When you first walk in you don't feel like you're in a Walgreen's - the make up department is different than most Walgreen's. Once you walk past the make up department, it's a pretty standard Walgreen's - which isn't a bad thing! I think the most exciting thing about this Walgreen's (also, I'm writing a review of Walgreens?!) is they have a souvenir section! That would seem normal in like LA or Orlando, but this is Houston and we're not really known as a tourist destination. I know it's because they're close to the Galleria and if you are a tourist in Houston, you're probably going to the Galleria at some point, but I still get a kick out of it. They also have the clinic here, where you can get vaccinations, etc. Not all Walgreen's have that. Let me say it one more time: Walgreen's. read more

Probably the worst Walgreens I've ever been to - and I'm normally a big fan of the chain! Really it's a shame. They are in a great location but severely understaffed. Some of the staff in the pharmacy are very friendly, but just totally overwhelmed. This location has higher end make (ie: pure, theBalm, )up as well as the regular drugstore. Also they have some great skincare. With a mini facial on one side of the That is free, and another on the other side you can pay for.. Now for the reasoning behind the low score. I was looking around testing colors(properley). A lady came over and offered me assistance, I told her i was OK. She proceed to talk to me, I smiled say a few words and then laughed and continued to look around. For some odd reason I end up at this Walgreens more often than I care to. It's close to the Galleria and the free parking lot attached to the nearby J.W. Marriott is right next door. On previous trips and on last Friday's Houston "snow day", Walgreens has been my go to place for supplemental toiletries, a newspaper or magazines, miscellaneous food items and even replacement pen and paper. As with other Walgreens, service is hit or miss and what it is. The key is to get quickly in and out and proceed on your way. read more
