This is the first Korean skin care store I found in Houston 5yrs ago. Been a constant customer since. My recommended products are: Herb Day Cleansing Foam: I got combination skin, this face wash doesn't make my face dry. And doesn't break me out either. Face Masks: I literally used all the $2 ones. They work well. Chia Seed line: this been my skin care routine for 5yrs straight. Doesn't break me out, moderately moisturizing, not oily at all, very light. All the things I want in my skin care. This line made me stop buying the American skin products.

I love this cute little shop. It's always so colorful and brightly lit. It makes me want to buy and try everything. They have a lot of products, but if you're looking for a certain brand then they have limited choices to choose from. They have nice assortments of facial products, make up, and skin care. I love their make up selection because they have some really nice natural/neutral colors that are really cute. I'll have to come back when I get my next paycheck in order to buy a few things. The girls behind the counters aren't always the friendliest, but I don't need much help finding whatever products I'm looking for. Take your time and find whatever feels best for you.

Face masks for under $6 each!

I have been here a few times to pick up some face masks that I have seen online. The face masks are all under six bucks and there's lots of other Korean beauty products. I have also tried a Chia Seed under eye lotion and the red lip tint with the bunnies on it (I don't know the brand). These products are great, but I think she said I have to use several products (because they all work together) to get the best results. So, maybe I'll try some more products next time. The staff is really helpful. And, there's a great reward program to earn points and get free samples.

What a fun place to shop for skincare! I wanted to get some makeup too, but most of the foundations and colors didn't work for me since day i'm not as fair as the Korean target market. Since Korean cosmetics aren't widely available yet in American stores, it's nice to have a shop to see what's available. I appreciated the range of products and price ranges available. Also, who can say no to $2 face masks and fun animal sheet masks? There are also some very high end lines, which I'm hesitant to spend money on without more research. So you can bet I'll be back armed with more research into the active ingredients. I'm not much into essences, but there were at least 10 different options. Also, if you're into whitening products, there is a plethora of stuff available. There are some body products, but not too much beyond body lotion. I did spot some foot peels that I want to try out when I'm not preggo (avoiding high levels of salicylic acid that's in contact with my skin for a while). Overall, if you're into skincare, check this place out!

For two years, I and my sister have been visiting The Face Shop in Bellaire for more than 10 times. The most recent trip (which is today) has been my most satisfied visit up to date :) The Staffs: Overall, the girls who work there are helpful and are always ready to answer all my ridiculous questions. However, my very first visit in 2014 has been intimidating. The two girls who worked there kindly greeted me and asked if I needed any help, when I told one of the girls that I would take a look first for now, she smiled and retreated back to her station behind the counter. It was fairly crowded at the time but I overheard the two girls complaining about a customer who came in earlier, asked a bunch of questions, then decided not to buy anything. I took a peep and saw one girl rolling her eyes then let out a smirk, saying it was such a waste of her time to be answering questions constantly and yet they (customers) barely make any purchase. Working in customer service must be really sucks :S Anyway, that conversation kind of pressured me into buying some stuffs and not walking out the store empty handed. Despite coming here more or less than a dozen times, I never see the same girl/girls who work here. I feel like the shop hires new people every week O_O Glaiza, the girl who helped me out today (I think... since the name was on the receipt :3), was so sweet and patient with me. The Korean owner was here this time and he was unpacking products in the back. They haven't displayed the newly arrived Oil Control Water Cushion, but when I asked for it (after seeing it in the displayed brochure on the shelf), the owner immediately unboxed the package and gave it to me for testing :) The products: Pfft~ I could go on and on forever about The Face Shop's products. Though the shop doesn't have every single thing, they have a fairly good amount of products that is catered to teenagers, 20s, and 30s adults. They have the men section too, though I'll have to get a boyfriend first U_U My dad and grandpa are not really fond of the BB cream or the guyliners... The prices: More expensive than what you get online. A product might cost 5,000 Korean won (5 USD) in South Korea, it becomes 10 USD on eBay, then it turns into 15 USD at the store. So you get the idea of how costly these are. I bought $50 worth today and I could have saved $20 if I were to buy them separately on eBay, but I just couldn't wait :( However, you get what you paid for and The Face Shop has never failed me in helping me looking nice, clean, and confident ^_^v Also, you can skip the online store's waiting time since it usually takes 1~2 weeks for a product to arrive from South Korea or anywhere else. The store: Extremely clean. Polished wooden floor and neat shelves. The smell is pleasant and the interior is a natural blend of white and green. I just feel like I've stepped into a paradise every time I come here. There are testers everywhere. Though I don't recommend you try them on your face, they are great for testing products to match your skin tone. The freebies: Oh. My. Buddha. They give out free calendars! Grab them!! Only available within a limited time (usually at the beginning of the year) and they run out of stocks after just a few weeks. Last year, I purchased a $100 worth of products and I was gifted a Suzy calendar, I thought I have hit jackpot until my sister went in and bought a $7 eyeshadow and walked out with a Kim Hyun Joong calendar... So for any purchase, you are given a calendar and free samples. My birthday is coming up in two days and guess what, Glaiza told me to get any two facial masks and they are going to be my birthday gifts. I was like, "Are you kidding? Why are you so nice to me?!" then Glaiza proceeded on to give me a 5% discount off my total purchase and that's when I screamed in my head, "Stop being so nice arghhhh~" I found out that the birthday facial masks and the 5% discount were applied because I just registered for their membership. As a The Face Shop member, I'll be able to receive 5% discount for every visit. Make sure you ask to sign up for a membership if you haven't yet, it is cost-free!

If you spend enough, they give you samples!

It's refreshing to see such a well-curated selection, especially brands that are actually effective and highly regarded rather than just trendy. The store itself is a quaint little shop tucked away off Bellaire, easy to miss if you're not looking for it, but definitely worth seeking out. The employee I interacted with was friendly, approachable, and genuinely helpful (not pushy) just knowledgeable and willing to answer questions, which I really appreciate when shopping for skincare. Pricing felt average overall, with a few items leaning slightly higher depending on the product. That said, for the convenience of buying in person, knowing the products are authentic, and being able to get guidance if needed, it's absolutely worth it, especially when you're serious about taking care of your skin and not gambling with questionable online sellers. If you're into K-beauty or looking to upgrade your skincare routine with trusted brands, this is a spot you'll want to keep on your list. I'll definitely be back.

I find it similar to Daiso but with slightly higher prices and much more variety. This store is located at West on West (WoW) on Westheimer which holds several Asian-centric businesses like KBBQ, Japanese sushi, cake and bakery shops, and more. The store is quite large and the aisles are decent sized when it comes to comfortably shopping. You'll see lots of shoppers that come and go in groups whether they're family or friends, but all are very shop curious, as Teso has such a variety of items. It takes time to explore all the things but it is fun to discover unique items you likely won't find elsewhere. The aisles are very well stocked with sweet and savory snacks like cookies, crackers, chips, nuts, dried seafood, chocolates, candies, ice cream etc. They also have a huge wall of specialty drinks in the far back, where you'll also find things like 3D puzzles and toys that are not typical. There's also a row of claw arcade machines in the back so have your hand at the claw if you'd like. There's also a wide variety of beauty items that are Japanese heavy including face masks, mascara, fake lashes, hair dye, and lip sticks. Stationary that is cute and useful is also in abundance. Overall, it's a fun store to shop and stock up on some useful household items and some hard-to-find goods that are great for yourself or a gift to others.

It's located off Westheimer in the same shopping center as 99 Ranch grocery store, Lady M, and Paris Baguette. I stopped in while visiting 99 Ranch and was curious to check it out. The standout here is the selection of beauty products. There are at least two full aisles dedicated to Japanese and Korean skincare, including serums, sunscreens, and face masks. The variety is impressive and convenient if you want everything in one place. That said, prices aren't the best--you can often find better deals online or at other stores--but the selection makes up for it. Toward the back of the store, you'll find snacks and drinks like chips, teas, and bottled beverages. Prices in this section are higher compared to places like H Mart or 99 Ranch, so I wouldn't come here specifically for snacks. Staff were friendly and welcoming when we entered, and parking is easy with a large shared lot. Overall, great spot for Japanese and Korean beauty products, especially if you value selection over price. Just be mindful of pricing and don't expect bargain deals.

K Beauty Lab Houston Review: Real Korean Skincare, No Passport Needed…read more It started as a Houston facial visit... but turned into the most legit Korean beauty experience I've had outside of Korea. Why I went I was in Houston for work, fighting off travel breakouts and desperately craving some skin sanity. When searching I kept seeing Instagram posts about K Beauty Lab--not some Pinterest-y "K-beauty inspired" spa, but an authentic Korean-owned, Korean-stocked, Korean-run sanctuary that actually understood skincare. As a medical aesthetician, I've seen a lot of gimmicks, but something about this place had me intrigued. So I booked a session, hopped in an Uber, and crossed my fingers. What actually happened From the outside, it doesn't scream "skincare heaven"--it's located in a strip mall next to a UPS Store. But the moment I stepped through the door, it was like entering a different dimension. Maria (I think that was her name?), who checked me in, welcomed me like I was a long-lost friend and Cherry got me started with a full 3D Korean skin scanner. This wasn't your typical spa gimmick--this thing broke down my skin in terrifying UV detail and literally showed where I'd missed sunscreen that day. (RIP my aesthetician pride.) Then, after analyzing everything, they handed me a full printed report and revealed I had "blooming diamond" skin--cue the happy tears. They built a completely customized facial treatment just for me, using my results. Veronica (I think they was her name?), my esthetician, had trained in Korea I believe -- either way she knew her stuff. We did their signature facial, plus added in K-beauty booster shots, oxygen therapy, multiple masks, and even a gua-sha scalp massage that sent me into another plane of existence. At one point, I actually fell asleep, and I'm usually the person asking 400 questions about every ingredient. She explained every step--like why niacinamide and vitamin C shouldn't be mixed--and didn't push a single product. The entire experience was knowledgeable, gentle, and completely immersive. The Vibes Let's just say I walked out looking like I sleep 9 hours a night, drink chlorophyll water for fun, and have never heard of fried food. My skin was glowing, my breakouts were calm, and my soul felt... soothed. It reminded me of something I once said on @CassandraBankson yt: good skincare is about what's applied and how youre applying it. These people knew what they were doing--and they did it with heart. Mini Critique If I had to reach for a complaint, it'd be the distance--it's a bit far from central Houston, and if you're taking an Uber like I did, it's not a quick zip. Also, some of the treatments can stack up in price if you don't ask upfront, so just be mindful when booking. Logistics It's easy to find with plenty of free parking. They run on time (which deserves its own award), and while there's no WiFi or digital nomad energy here, that's kind of the point--you're here to disconnect. Don't expect a tech setup; expect tea, glowing skin, and a post-facial debrief that'll leave you feeling like a new human. Health & Safety The spa was spotless. Like, medical-grade clean. Tools were sanitized in front of me, the sheets were fresh, and even the air felt like it had been filtered through a eucalyptus diffuser in heaven. The bathrooms were clean, stocked, and had no weird smells. It was honestly one of the most hygienic spa environments I've been in. Verdict Would I go back? Without hesitation. I'd fly back to Houston just to lay on that bed again. If you're even thinking about booking--do it. Let them scan your face, heal your skin, and teach you something new. Already been? Tell me your skin type--did you also get "blooming diamond" or something else? And if you're curious how my skin turned out, catch the glow on ig @CassandraBankson.

I have since modified my skincare routine to better address the issues, and I have seen improvements between facials. However this is a double edged sword because sometimes I change too much at once and end up irritating my skin, so be careful with your new knowledge! Despite my constant convincing, my husband didn't believe in the power of skincare until he got a skin analysis here and was able to see all the "facts and numbers".
