Super cute Japanese store! It's worth a visit if you are visiting houston. It's a small store but there's a lot of different products inside. Ranging from makeup to household products to food and more! The employees were really friendly and helpful to answer some questions. A little pricey but most Japanese imported products can be pricy!

Better than He buyala

Some people like Jesus, some Allah Some dudes have big junk, others smaller But if you like sparkly things And the joy said thing brings Then come on down to Shibuyala! This is an adorable Japanese store with all kinds of Tokyo fashions and styles. It's very popular and it's right next to Dun Huang Plaza, and we love it as do many people. We come here on a regular basis. The customers are cute and the things they sell here make Barbie and other cute girls and all of us cuter and more aesthetic. Definitely one of Houston's most aesthetic shops and a great connection between the West and the Eastern Glamour of Japan. Anyway I know that She buyala, but did He buyala too? Or was it just her?

Props to the girl at the register. First time here and was told we can't bring the drinks throughout the store but welcome to leave it in the side of the counter. At first, I didn't hear her so I wasn't sure what she said. She repeated herself but in a respectful way when I start walking around. Later on, someone came in with her teenager daughter without a mask. She politely told them mask is required. The other lady kept yelling how masks are not required if they got vaccinated. I was going to eventually step in but the girl at the register calmly said masks are required at their store, it only applies to public places, not private own businesses. I stared at that lady while she was making a scene of herself and she walked away. She said she would grab her mask but I saw her walking to her car complaining about the whole situation and drove off. Honestly, prop to you girl for being so calm, saying it respectfully, and standing your ground. To anyone who read this, I hope you respect businesses regulation of whatever they want to do. We are still in a pandemic so if the business require you to wear a mask, just wear one. You don't go into a nice high class restaurant dressing like a prostitute, now would you? All businesses have the right to refuse service so don't be an ass. Anyways, to the review. It's a cute Japanese cosmetic store with many Japanese quality products that you would find in Asia. The pink door is cool. However, as I was going through the items, most of the items are much higher than sold elsewhere. You really have to know what you're shopping for. It's still a great one place shop with majority of their inventory on the shelf.

I never write reviews and torn on sharing because I kind of want this place to remain a secret from non-chinatown, but that isn't the right thing to do. This place is amazing! I used to work in luxury beauty for a major company in NYC and am always looking for different items that work. I used to travel to Asia and bring back suitcases of skincare and cosmetics way before face oils J-Beauty was a mainstream thing. Until I found Shibuyala, I could only get these products either at specialty supermarkets, online, by asking friends to carry it back in their suitcases which meant I often spent more time looking for specific things. Then came Shibuyala to Houston :) When I actually walked in and I saw so many of the items I love so conveniently organized and curated I was beyond happy. Yes the prices are a tiny bit higher than if you went and found each individual item yourself, BUT the store is so convenient and the people that work there are so helpful! The time and effort it saves me to get almost everything in one place (not to mention well curated) is beyond worth a small premium. It is a luxury experience. Plus they constantly have new stock of top selling items as ranked by Cosme and you can see what is back in stock on Instagram. They also have a good rewards program and the owner is amazing. I meet her late the first night I was in and she was kind enough to keep the store open for me because I didn't realize what time it was. They go above and beyond explaining the products to someone like me who doesn't speak Japanese. Which is great because it means less googling and also no major error purchases that won't work for you. As a side comment: Lets also be honest 9pm is very generous hours for those of you that keep wanting to stay later. That isn't a fair expectation to ask a business to stay open past that so you can buy a single face mask...

Very professional

So much potential, but customer service is trash. The workers there don't know anything about the products and all they do is say "uhhhhhh" and give you bullshit. You're better off going there with google translate to see how to use the products properly :-) Edit: also business owner is very unprofessional for marking "Funny" on this review instead of replying/giving feedback

Super cute store with friendly staff. The prices are also very reasonable. We spotted this store on our way to moshi moshi; It is just down the street. This store does not have a ton of plush toys, but it is a little larger than moshi moshi and they do have other merchandise that you would find at a convenience store or pharmacy like CVS. It's like a cute general store. Please note that masks are still required to enter this business.

Cute setting up

This store is really cute. You can see their design is super cute start from their entrance door. However I like other one close to this store better compare to this store, because they give better guidance, and helpfulness product information. But it still good to have options.

I know this is a beauty supply store but it has one of the cutest interiors! My friend brought me and took lots of cute photographs and we didn't end up buying anything but the staff didn't seem to mind. It's really pretty and they have lots of interesting products but not many that I personally was interested in. I guess you can say a lot of people go here simply for pictures. So I went there today and I was wondering when is the duck plush coming back because when I was there it was all sold out?

It's refreshing to see such a well-curated selection, especially brands that are actually effective and highly regarded rather than just trendy. The store itself is a quaint little shop tucked away off Bellaire, easy to miss if you're not looking for it, but definitely worth seeking out. The employee I interacted with was friendly, approachable, and genuinely helpful (not pushy) just knowledgeable and willing to answer questions, which I really appreciate when shopping for skincare. Pricing felt average overall, with a few items leaning slightly higher depending on the product. That said, for the convenience of buying in person, knowing the products are authentic, and being able to get guidance if needed, it's absolutely worth it, especially when you're serious about taking care of your skin and not gambling with questionable online sellers. If you're into K-beauty or looking to upgrade your skincare routine with trusted brands, this is a spot you'll want to keep on your list. I'll definitely be back.

This was one of the rudest and most unprofessional experiences we've ever had.

I find it similar to Daiso but with slightly higher prices and much more variety. This store is located at West on West (WoW) on Westheimer which holds several Asian-centric businesses like KBBQ, Japanese sushi, cake and bakery shops, and more. The store is quite large and the aisles are decent sized when it comes to comfortably shopping. You'll see lots of shoppers that come and go in groups whether they're family or friends, but all are very shop curious, as Teso has such a variety of items. It takes time to explore all the things but it is fun to discover unique items you likely won't find elsewhere. The aisles are very well stocked with sweet and savory snacks like cookies, crackers, chips, nuts, dried seafood, chocolates, candies, ice cream etc. They also have a huge wall of specialty drinks in the far back, where you'll also find things like 3D puzzles and toys that are not typical. There's also a row of claw arcade machines in the back so have your hand at the claw if you'd like. There's also a wide variety of beauty items that are Japanese heavy including face masks, mascara, fake lashes, hair dye, and lip sticks. Stationary that is cute and useful is also in abundance. Overall, it's a fun store to shop and stock up on some useful household items and some hard-to-find goods that are great for yourself or a gift to others.

It's located off Westheimer in the same shopping center as 99 Ranch grocery store, Lady M, and Paris Baguette. I stopped in while visiting 99 Ranch and was curious to check it out. The standout here is the selection of beauty products. There are at least two full aisles dedicated to Japanese and Korean skincare, including serums, sunscreens, and face masks. The variety is impressive and convenient if you want everything in one place. That said, prices aren't the best--you can often find better deals online or at other stores--but the selection makes up for it. Toward the back of the store, you'll find snacks and drinks like chips, teas, and bottled beverages. Prices in this section are higher compared to places like H Mart or 99 Ranch, so I wouldn't come here specifically for snacks. Staff were friendly and welcoming when we entered, and parking is easy with a large shared lot. Overall, great spot for Japanese and Korean beauty products, especially if you value selection over price. Just be mindful of pricing and don't expect bargain deals.

These products are definitely cheaper if bought in Korea, but the face shop will do until my next trip out there. I was given a choice between two samples - acne or anti-aging. K Beauty Lab Houston Review: Real Korean Skincare, No Passport Needed…read more It started as a Houston facial visit... but turned into the most legit Korean beauty experience I've had outside of Korea. Why I went I was in Houston for work, fighting off travel breakouts and desperately craving some skin sanity. When searching I kept seeing Instagram posts about K Beauty Lab--not some Pinterest-y "K-beauty inspired" spa, but an authentic Korean-owned, Korean-stocked, Korean-run sanctuary that actually understood skincare. As a medical aesthetician, I've seen a lot of gimmicks, but something about this place had me intrigued. So I booked a session, hopped in an Uber, and crossed my fingers. What actually happened From the outside, it doesn't scream "skincare heaven"--it's located in a strip mall next to a UPS Store. But the moment I stepped through the door, it was like entering a different dimension. Maria (I think that was her name?), who checked me in, welcomed me like I was a long-lost friend and Cherry got me started with a full 3D Korean skin scanner. This wasn't your typical spa gimmick--this thing broke down my skin in terrifying UV detail and literally showed where I'd missed sunscreen that day. (RIP my aesthetician pride.) Then, after analyzing everything, they handed me a full printed report and revealed I had "blooming diamond" skin--cue the happy tears. They built a completely customized facial treatment just for me, using my results. Veronica (I think they was her name?), my esthetician, had trained in Korea I believe -- either way she knew her stuff. We did their signature facial, plus added in K-beauty booster shots, oxygen therapy, multiple masks, and even a gua-sha scalp massage that sent me into another plane of existence. At one point, I actually fell asleep, and I'm usually the person asking 400 questions about every ingredient. She explained every step--like why niacinamide and vitamin C shouldn't be mixed--and didn't push a single product. The entire experience was knowledgeable, gentle, and completely immersive. The Vibes Let's just say I walked out looking like I sleep 9 hours a night, drink chlorophyll water for fun, and have never heard of fried food. My skin was glowing, my breakouts were calm, and my soul felt... soothed. It reminded me of something I once said on @CassandraBankson yt: good skincare is about what's applied and how youre applying it. These people knew what they were doing--and they did it with heart. Mini Critique If I had to reach for a complaint, it'd be the distance--it's a bit far from central Houston, and if you're taking an Uber like I did, it's not a quick zip. Also, some of the treatments can stack up in price if you don't ask upfront, so just be mindful when booking. Logistics It's easy to find with plenty of free parking. They run on time (which deserves its own award), and while there's no WiFi or digital nomad energy here, that's kind of the point--you're here to disconnect. Don't expect a tech setup; expect tea, glowing skin, and a post-facial debrief that'll leave you feeling like a new human. Health & Safety The spa was spotless. Like, medical-grade clean. Tools were sanitized in front of me, the sheets were fresh, and even the air felt like it had been filtered through a eucalyptus diffuser in heaven. The bathrooms were clean, stocked, and had no weird smells. It was honestly one of the most hygienic spa environments I've been in. Verdict Would I go back? Without hesitation. I'd fly back to Houston just to lay on that bed again. If you're even thinking about booking--do it. Let them scan your face, heal your skin, and teach you something new. Already been? Tell me your skin type--did you also get "blooming diamond" or something else? And if you're curious how my skin turned out, catch the glow on ig @CassandraBankson.

I haven't yet tried any of the signature facials yet, but I definitely plan to next year! The skin analysis really helped me understand the condition of my skin and what it was lacking. I have since modified my skincare routine to better address the issues, and I have seen improvements between facials. However this is a double edged sword because sometimes I change too much at once and end up irritating my skin, so be careful with your new knowledge! Despite my constant convincing, my husband didn't believe in the power of skincare until he got a skin analysis here and was able to see all the "facts and numbers". Now I bring him with me to get facials at the same time with one of the other estheticians, and he really enjoys them too.
