The ladies behind the counter are very cool but gave me conflicting directions I finally found the place. I went there to buy Fresh Look Color Blends contact lenses. This brand is highly touted but doesn't deliver. I think if you have onyx black eyes, these lenses will give off a very intense color change. Mine are medium brown and the result was meh. Not the store's fault whatsoever. So, one blue (slightly better result) pair and one green pair, out over $40. They have a great array of color eye and lip pencils; also lipstick. It's the Colorblends Fresh Look that are the big let-down. read more

Very nice place but I have to admit that I am obsessed with the Beauty Empire on Cullen Blvd. and will probably go out my way to go to that one as they have more of a selection. Or, I may just be lazy and be satisfied with the offerings here. They do have more of a selection than most beauty supply shops but much less than the one on Cullen unfortunately. I did find styles that I could use. Next time I go I will check out the wig selection and see how it compares to the other. read more

When I need to replenish my $1.99 or $3.99 cubic zirconia studs - beauty shops are where I go. This beauty shop is HUGE! There is plenty of parking and they have pretty much all of your beauty needs. From hair products, makes up, weaves, and affordable jewelry - this place has it! But be mindful - they have cameras everywhere! They have a hilarious wall of shame when you first walk in - So great. I really would give this place 5 stars, but the people who work there are not the best... they do you have a couple of new people that are really friendly but the people who are usually there have really weird and unhappy attitudes. Regardless, every time I come here I can find something new and I always find what I need. They have really good wigs if you need something quick and I love coming here to get little bows for my nieces and goddaughters. I love love love the point system. They rack up pretty quickly too. There have been many purchases of mine that I do not have to actually pay for because the point system gives you an equivalent of a certain dollar amount. OMG...Terrific! This was my first time visiting this hair store. My beautician came along with me as we were on the hunt for a fly but temporary vacation look. This place is huge! There is everything from A-Z in there. Wigs, weave, lashes, jewelry...you name it, they've got it. Prices are very reasonable and stock is plentiful. Depending on your familiarity with the store, the sheer size and selection could potentially be overwhelming. The only drawback during this visit was the lack of customer service. There was no greeting upon entrance and I did not see a lot of workers. But I did ask one lady for assistance and she was quite helpful and friendly. Most hair stores have people all around who ask you if you need anything. And, that is what I was expecting here, too. But not a big deal because I brought someone with me who knew what to do and where to go. I'll definitely be back, if just to look for new products and styles. read more

This has always been my go-to beauty supply. If I need something and I'm not in the address, I will wait until I am in the area. Which is exactly what happened this week....I waited until today to come and get the things I needed since I was over here. The prices aren't high and the usually have an abundance of products. With me being your typical natural hair product junky, this place is product heaven to me. The staff has always been helpful and nice which is another reason I return. So I popped into Beauty empire on Westheimer right after grey falls right... been coming here for YEARS mind you...so I'm walking down the aisles as I always do and I'm holding my little ones hand. So I'm looking at a product and my little tot goes to grab one after I do...She knocks like three down. I grab the one she had in her hand and moved her out of the way so I can proceed to fix the ones she knocks down like a normal human being. He had already been staringing at us but I didn't think anything of it. This asshole "manager" comes over and pushes his way infront of us to fix it. I politely say " you don't have to do that, I was fixing them" he says with a NASTY attitude AND I QUOTE... "I got it you need to take care of your child, watch your child" ....I was taken back and said "what did you say?! You don't talk to me like that! She is being watched. The audacity!" So I'm standing there baffled by what just happened... I put what I had in my hands down and walked up to him in the front and asked if he was the owner...he said he was the manager and I made it clear I was never going to spend another dime of my money in his store and that he should watch how he talks to people who come to spend money to pay his salary! I called him an asshole and walked out. So mr ass manager, I hope you're happy because you lost a long time customer because of the nasty ignorant way you choose to talk to people. Wish I could leave 0 stars! Very disappointed with the customer service tonight (7/15/21) Literally TRASH. Although the employee tried to help me the best she could, she had no knowledge on anything. She did the correct thing to ask for help, but the MANAGER (Hispanic) refused to help out because it just hit "9pm" and they are now closed. I was told to either buy what I had, or pretty much leave. I did not walk in as soon as closing, I have already been shopping. Just confuses me on why it was so hard to help me.... I could have easily been out your way if you would have just pointed me in the correct direction. Then when I get to the register he tries to FORCE me to use a PIN number, after I told him I am by passing the pin option. He proceeds to say that there was no other option. Then asks for me ID to so credit??? I thought there was no other option? This man was rude as hell and I will never be back. First & last time this place will receive my business. Maybe I came on a shift with a shift manager, but still he needs to learn how to treat PAYING customers. read more

What I like most about this store is that I have always found the items that I need for my hair. Other beauty supply stores come up short when it comes to certain items. I'm very picky about what I put in my hair, so I use the same products. The products I use must not contain alcohol, and I have found that this store has a wide range of alcohol free products while other stores come up short in this department. I also like that this store is always stocked with any item you can think of. Items like plastic caps and mesh wraps are hot items and they go fast, but this store keeps a healthy supply of these favorites on hand. There are plenty of products for men and women. They even have products for kids hair, along with the necessary accessories for little girls. If your hair is natural, they've got you covered too. You can shop here for products that cater to your natural locks. For those of you that wear weave or wigs, this is your store. The variety of hair goes on and on. Trust me when I tell you that they will have what you are looking for. They've got hair to suit every occasion happening in your life. They've got vacation hair (braids), daily work hair (not too expensive straight weave, pony tails or wigs), and elegant hair (Remy). If you wear it, they've got it. This place is definitely a lot larger than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised to see all the different items they sell besides hair pieces, extensions, wigs, etc. Lots of jewelry, make-up sunglasses, purses, belts, shoes, caps, etc. The only thing I would improve is their PR skills. Came here looking for havana mambo twist hair and called ahead of time to see if they had it in stock. Probably the best wig selection in the city. & there prices are pretty compatible maybe even cheaper than other regular beauty supply stores. I will be short and sweet...I place with alot of things but the prices are very weird. I can usually get the Bevery Johnson Micro Braid hair back home (Dallas) for about $30 a bag and they have it ranging from $49.99 - $89.99 what a rip off and some of the bags,color, length hair but they cant tell you why the difference. Also the hair I purchased the bag was so skimpy the price is going up and the bags are not as half full as they once were. I wear micros and usually I get 2 bags and only use a bag and a half now Im forced to get 3 bags and use 2 and a half...either the manufactors are ripping us off or the supply houses are ripping us...Either way we are being beat. I love coming here. They have everything! There is a beauty supply store closer to my building but they are not as good as this Beauty Empire. They have so many wigs and so much hair. The selection of relaxers, makeup and beauty tools is also great. I needed some help with achieving a style which would require clip in hair and the young lady that worked in that section very helpful. I love the Beauty empire chain. I like that they have variety. This location has been promoting a second store that is about 2-3 blocks down From this location. Well today I visited both and I was unimpressed with the new location. It is very blank.. Plain ..and a waste of space. The Beauty empire plus what they call it promoted a lot of things on their Instagram page that they didn't even have in stock. I would have to say that this location was better stocked than down the street new location. The prices were no steals like I am accustomed to when I visit the one in south park. There are Several Beauty Empire's but this is, by far, the Best One. There is a Security Guard on duty for those who have Sticky Fingers or those who love 5/10 finger discounts. They have a very wide selection of products and even have Discount Boxes, with 50% off Hair/Wigs in them. Their prices are very reasonable and affordable. I am very indecisive and become a little overwhelmed when a store is huge, has great products/prices, and I want to buy everything I see, So it takes me a while to choose items. Never have I been followed around in this store because I'm taking too long and they think I'm going to steal something. I Absolutely Love This Store!!!! I went to the beauty empire on Westheimer on the 27th at night. I made a purchase of 348 dollars and the Chinese guy was so pleasant and told me I'm welcome back any day , he also gave me a free Jamaican castor oil.that night I realized the spanx I bought was way to small and couldn't get pass my thigh and it was stated xl. So I rushed back the next day but immediately Miguel saw me he said ,'no return '! Looking at me as if I was a nobody and then he says next customer..he didn't even care to listen to me . He said it was stated in my receipt but I handed him the receipt and that part was out which was their mistake..After trying to explain myself over and over again he made a call to the owner and she said I could change .. Guess what?? When he gave me the 3xl he opened the pack and it was xl inside then he took another pack and it was cream inside instead of black and they say you are not allowed to open the pack ...after everything I asked Miguel for my receipt he said I gave it back to you right there I opened my bag and brought out everything he still insisted he gave me and said ,"next customer" after attending to some customers and he noticed i was just standing looking at him, he went to check on the shelf and found it and said," you too much problem" and handed over my receipt to me .I was so embarrassed to think i also wanted to make more purchase..to also think I am 9months pregnant going through such disrespect from the store manager was a shame ..Miguel should be replaced he is bad news and plain rude ..I would have said I was never going to return but the owners are amazing just the Miguel store manager that needs anger management. read more

I have been here a while back and had a very bad experience. Black lady at the front was very nice but her other ladies were not patient and either didin't know much about hair or acted like they didn't know. But today OMG this new lady they have Starr she was an angel. She was just as nice as the other black lady from last time (I guess she was off today didn't see her) and she educated me so much on hair wigs and hair products. I just love this beauty supply and the new lady Starr. She was the best ever. The store was neat and when I asked for wigs i saw online she went right to them with no problem. Was treated quite rudely when returning hair that I did not realize was the wrong color. I opened the package but did not use the hair. They let me exchange it but not without major attitude and chastising. I was told that there can be absolutely no altering of the package. My question is , How can you know it's the wrong color without opening it? I have patronized this store for the last 2 years and have always spent a good deal of money in this store. I was in a hurry and getting ready for a funeral. The shop is helpful until you need to make a return. I will not be coming back. read more
