Went for a late dinner because was craving a steak rice veggie bowl. The interior is very cool and cozy, not a big place there are like 4 tables. There's plenty of parking out front. We wanted to try this spot because we saw their sandwiches online, but instead got rice bowls! A friend and I were both craving rice bowls for some reason we asian, so my friend got the pork belly rice bowl and I got the chef's rice bowl. My friend said her bowl was a bit on the spicy side though. She also got an iced tea with a cup of ice. Mine came out first and it was perfectly cooked had tender beef and vegetables. If this yummy beef is on the sandos, it has got to be really tasty. My red meat craving was satisfied, just wish there was more of it! I demolished that bowl anyway. No leftovers. The gentleman working the counter on 03/26 was AMAZING. He was incredibly helpful and genuinely happy to be there, which made the whole experience even better. I loved how he took the time to show us the sandos and give recommendations on what to order. An amazing new adventure today at a Japanese sando shop, GYU Plus in Vegas. The concept is interesting and I've not seen this before. Your order Japanese bowls or 3 half sandwiches, no crust, perfectly toasted inner bread with pipettes of sauce to infused into the sando. The staff is enthusiastic about discussing the concept and helping you order. The restaurant is small but stuffed full of patrons, all smiling. We ordered the egg sandwich with diced jidori fluffy eggs, mayo, secret sauce and a crust- less white airy toast. They recommended the togarashi chips for additional flavor and the salt. It seems simple, was delicious and a welcomed surprise. The spicy chicken Katso sando with lightly dusted panko crust, spicy mayo cabbage, pickled carrots, tokatsu sauce on a fluffy white toasted bread. The spice was just right, crispy chicken and again, the pipette of sauce sealed the deal. While we were waiting in line, I asked a couple what did they order and he said don't order the trio of three half sandwiches (9 half sandwiches) as it was to much food. He insisted that I try a shrimp sando that they were not going to eat and it was equally delicious. A very kind jester and opportunity to try another sando combination. A friend told me about this place that opened up close to where we live, so, for his birthday, I bought him and his roommates dinner from GYU Plus. First of all, it was a journey to get to the place because I got confused by the parking lots surrounding the restaurant (I took a wrong turn and felt like I was in a maze I couldn't escape). The restaurant itself is small but nice. I like the cleanliness and no frills decor. The service was great as they were welcoming and happy to help explain the menu and make recommendations. Now the most important part - the food. All the sandwiches use shokupan bread. I liked the bread, but the friends were not a fan of the thickness of the bread. But for most sandwiches, I liked that the thick cuts of bread held in the fillings well. Steak sando - as much as I wanted to like it , I thought it was just ok. Most of the meat was tender and surprisingly easy to bite into. I loved the soy demi glacé sauce. I noticed that the bread, despite its thickness, would fall apart with this sando. Crispy shrimp sando - while the flavor of shrimp was there, the texture reminded me of chicken. Egg sando - I was hoping for a sando that brought me back to Japan, but this is where those thick cuts of bread worked against them as it was too thick for my liking. I also thought the egg filling was a bit heavier than the usual egg sando I've had in Japan. Togarashi chips - house made chips that were crispy and not too thick. Perfect compliment to the sandos. I loved the slight spice from the Togarashi. Crispy chicken- I was surprised to find that this was my favorite sando. Thin cuts of chicken that is coated in panko and deep fried. With the slaw and sauce, it was a very tast my sando that I would get again. The place is pricey and even more so depending on the sando you get. The most expensive is the Wagyu, which I didn't try since it cost $99. The regular steak sando is $24. The cheapest sando I think is the egg at about $12. read more

I lived in LA for most of my life and Japanese sando places started popping up in brick and mortars (non trucks) EVERYWHERE several years ago, so much so that they just became part of the food scene. They usually were great but always suffered one of two problems in my mind: 1) Too oily or overfilled that the bread becomes soggy pretty quickly or 2) Not enough choices you basically had the egg or the chicken. I moved to Vegas 6 months ago and this is the BEST sando place I've had!! Go figure. Have not gone to the original but if it's even better than this location, it must be amazing! Tried the spicy chicken katsu and shrimp sandos and they were both delicious so I recommend them. Also tried the homemade togarashi potato chips and scarfed those down quick--a must get. Someone in my party got the pork belly rice box and thought it was good but also felt like they were gonna have a heart attack from the pork belly and would have gotten a sando next time. BRILLIANT idea with the little droppers for the katsu sauce so you can control the amount you put on easily AND because normally it's a little to-go ketchup cup thing and it's impossible to dip the sando in without gravity causing havoc or it gets messy pouring it over (trust me from a seasoned beach or park picnic sando eater). They also have some unique drinks available. We def have to try the egg and steak sandos...oh and also everything... It's the best when eaten on the spot at the place. Luckily, the people are very friendly there, will explain the menu, and parking is super easy with lots of seating. Cool trendy environs and they make the stuff quick for a quick lunch if not busy. Served on a bread of rice and chopped cabbage with some mushrooms on the side. Unfortunately the whole bowl was just a bit dry. I wish that there was some of the sauce that the salmon was cooked in drizzled on the bowl to add a little moisture. I've been dying to try the Chinatown location for ages so I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that they opened this location in SW Vegas. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed it was nice and clean. There was a few people there around lunchtime on a Friday. The folks taking orders behind the counter were super welcoming and asked us how they could help us. The guy who was helping us made some recommendations and we decided to go with the pork fried rice as well as the egg sando and shrimp sando. We were not disappointed. My son gobbled up that spicy chicken and it was his absolute favorite. We loved the little sauces that you squeeze into the sandos for another extra level of flavor. Very playful and yummy! I wish I had ordered a Sando like my husband did, instead of the pork belly fried rice, which wasn't as good as I expected. I love pork belly, but theirs wasn't anything special, and I felt the bowl fell short. When I got home, I added corn and seasoned cucumber to put my own spin on it, which improved the taste somewhat. The rice was also a sticky, soft texture I didn't enjoy. I tried a bite of my husband's chicken and steak Sando, and those were really good -- I should have ordered those instead.
