Our usual spot is down the street which is Sumo Sushi. Same owner I believe. Anyways, the wait was 55 mins for Sumo and it was already almost 9pm. We called Mr Shota and they said they had 1 table left. Or it could be a 15 min wait. When we got there, a group was leaving and there was 1 party of 2 ahead of us. Within less than a minute they were seated and we were right after. Super fast !! It's a small spot and this place has been different names before so we had stop coming here. But after today, it wasn't bad after all. The service was quick, the food was great. And to top it off, they had Ube and Thai tea ice cream !! Yummm ! Couldn't have asked for a better way to spend and early Mother's Day

I am so upset! I literally drove ACROSS town to get the goku handroll. They were the only sushi place that had something like this. It was literally the only thing that made them unique to all the other sushi spot. This new menu has got to go! Let me know when it comes back. Also I hate that they do cans of soda instead of fountain soda.

This place has great quality cuts and portions! Went here for our anniversary recently and it was worth the wait. We love nigiri and this place does an amazing job with that. I thought the yellowtail was especially good here. I thought the eel was weakest, although still good.

The sushi here was well balanced between options of tempura, fried, classic, baked and signature. I will be back soon. Wasn't busy for lunch time and special was a good price. Very clean ambient environment and loved our server kept coming to check on us.

Fantastic experience! We were on this side of town for an IKEA run and decided to have dinner. Found this gem tucked in the corner of a VONS shopping center. After a mere 10 minute wait, we were seated immediately and greeted just as quickly. The AYCE was only $34.95, with 90 minutes to enjoy. We started with their 'The Shit' and it was so YUMMY. We were excited to try some original rolls and and enjoyed them all. The ambiance is upbeat and inviting! We'll be back the next time we're on that side of town!

Shota is part of the same restaurant family as Sakana and Sushi Neko, offering a $29.95 AYCE menu with a nice variety of sushi and cooked dishes. The flavors were good, and the servers were friendly. Ordering was simple, but the execution was inconsistent. We received several items we didn't order, and a few we requested never came--even after following up 2-3 times. Unfortunately, those missing items never showed up. Overall, the food is good, but just be prepared for possible mix-ups with your order. If you're easygoing about that, it's worth checking out.

Sooo many positive comments reviews and highly recommended so had to try although not a huge fan of AYCE! Great space warm welcome as you walk in and servers were very attentive. Went for lunch and base option $25.99 and thinking good value? Unfortunately a bit less than usual quality or freshness of fish so stuck more with small plated cooked items... Huge Korean and Japanese options to choose from to boot! Hate to say this but overall pretty MID!! Also a terrible first visit experience when the very first things ordered never showed ....And while waiting for those two desired important items, your asked over and over if I needed something else? Good service or forgot my original order? Unfortunately not my vibe and totally missed the mark for me!! I don't think I would return.

Han the host was extremely hospitable! He spoke to my dad and I as he walked us to our table and at our table! Very nice man! The food was outstanding and the ambiance fit the vibe very well!

Stopped at Mr. Shota for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We were able to be seated quickly and the restaurant was inviting and clean. Our server Kat, was helpful and friendly. Ask for her if you eat there! We went with the all you can eat and ate our money's worth. From appetizers to sushi to ice cream - everything was fresh and tasty! This is was a great experience!

The Hamachi Kama is back! (In limited quantities). Jackson let us know that they offer Salmon and Hamachi Kama, but it's one per table and you can only choose one. We came for lunch and it wasn't too busy. Our food didn't take too long to come out, but keep in mind the Kama, Kalbi, and skewers take longer. Music is great and restaurant is clean. So happy that the Hamachi Kama is back!

How much the lice of AYCE? Is Uni nigiri included to AYCE?

$24.95 for lunch. All day $28.95. One order of uni per person is included in AYCE. I usually invite people who don't like uni lol

Is happy hour available on weekends as well?

Sadly no last time we were there and found out

Is restaurant ADA compliant ? Plan to bring 3 obachans that use wheelchairs.

They have no steps and a few tables have chairs that pull away and would allow for WC access. I am not sure about the restrooms but should have no problem eating.

    Hi when is HAPPY HOUR?

It was after 9PM when we went.

Will you be open for July 4th 2023?

I wanna know, what everyone's FAVORITE roll is?

I absolutely love the salmon belly and sexy salmon nigiri. As for the rolls, Call 911 is always a must for me.

Do they still have two for one sake and beer and soju?

When I was there last week they still have that special. I got a bogo soda 😊

I understand lunch time is till 4pm, what if we go in at 3 but finish at 4:30? Will we be charge dinner or still lunch?

i have friends that work there, she said if you do lunch option and stick with lunch item all the way, you'll be charge lunch price even if you finish at 5pm.

Is the AYCE just for sushi or are tapas included?

It is for almost all the menu including tapas

What's the Maximum size for a Large Party?

Probably around 8. More than 8 will have to be split tables.

Are there gluten free options? Is the sushi rice GF?

Rice is never a gluten item. Gluten comes from wheat. This is why gluten free items use "rice flour"

How much is the AYCE for dinner?

    $27.95

Is there a different price for children?

    Ages 0-3 : Free Ages 4-7: $13.95 8+: Full price

    Can I make reservations?

There's no reservations, but they have a Yelp waitlist

So is there a lunch special from 12-4 like I see on the menu. Or is it only from 4pm to 11pm?

shota recently open there lunch hour friday-sunday (3 days). i heard that first week in december they will open lunch everyday.

Did they get rid of the 49ers roll? That was my favorite.

can ask your server, sometime they can make it for you.

    Are reservations accepted?

    No...we just walked in

What are the hours they are open?

Currently soft Opening hours 5pm-10pm, last called 9:30pm

I have never been to a sushi location that the service is this spectacular. Table always cleared away of empty dishes and the speed of how fast the food comes out is INSANE. Waiter comes to your table right away and ask for your order almost immediately after seating. The food and service is fast but you do not feel rushed to eat as fast as you can and leave. You don't get the feeling of them trying to rush you out. The ambiance of this place is on another level. I feel like I am at a club. So if you want a nice and quiet dinner this is not the place for you. But if you want to come with friends and have a good time then this place is a must try! It wasn't terrible by any means, but nothing really stood out and there are definitely better places if you're specifically craving Japanese food. What really bothered me though was the pricing situation. We came during their lunch AYCE hours, but because there was a festival going on that weekend, they decided to charge full dinner price instead. So I am docking off another point for the owners being greedy. Service itself was okay, just not enough to justify the higher price they charged us.

Chef Shuji runs the restaurant with his wife next to him in the kitchen. The fish here is flown in from Japan and of the highest quality as you can see from the sheen and fat marbling. The tuna melts in your mouth and bite after bite is a wonderful experience as you pair it with soy sauce, fresh Wasabi, yuzu Wasabi, or some combination of the condiments provided. This is also the first sushi restaurant I have ever been to that automatically brings out fresh Wasabi without having to ask. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied. Even though we were very full, we took a look at the dessert menu. Not pictured here is a sweet potato with ice cream and brown sugar glaze. This dish on the menu was unassuming but the taste was so decadent. Quite possibly the best and sweetest sweet potato I have ever tasted. The chef slowly roasts them over a 2 hour period, rotating the potatoes every so slightly every 15 minutes. The sweet potato could be a dessert by itself, it was that good! Chef Shuji is a charming and funny host. He regularly comes out to greet his customers and makes sure they are enjoying their meal, very high-touch. You don't need to go to the Strip for Ari yeah!…read more Ari Sushi & Izakaya is a very well-Yelped restaurant in the southwest. I've particularly seen buddies post about it on Instagram a lot, and I finally made my way out there since I found that it aligned with my mom's food craving. I went for the Ari Ari Combo ($29.00). It started with a little bowl of balanced miso soup and a tiny side salad with fresh greens and a simple sesame dressing, and was followed by six thin but delicious sashimi slices and four basic but also solid-quality nigiri. I would be more than happy to come back try to more of their raw fish any time. If that doesn't sound like enough for lunch, I did share other food items. The Garlic Edamame ($7.00) felt a little less salted than I expected but was a good portion and had plenty of both a garlic sauce and crispy garlic slivers. I also helped out with a Bento with 3 items ($25.00): bulgogi, mixed tempura, and spicy tuna roll. The bulgogi was tender but not strongly marinated enough and the spicy tuna roll felt pretty standard, but I did really enjoy the shrimp tempura and the veggie tempura pieces which I tried. They were super hot and crispy while being cooked perfectly inside, and the sauce was perfect. The music was relaxing and not played at a very high volume. The restaurant is a little more dim than I'd like and could benefit from overhead narrow-angle lights, but maybe the food was just that good that the lighting wasn't so important. The server was happy to refill my complimentary water with lemon as often as needed, as well as to add more water to the Hot Green Tea ($4.00). I did try some of the tea, and it was potent and low in bitterness. I'm pleased to report that Ari Sushi really does offer delicious sushi, enough so that I'll probably have to make more trips from Henderson to try more of their menu. If you want high quality mid-price-range sushi that's not in an all you can eat format, this is a great place to look.
