Mr Shota is our go-to AYCE sushi, all the staff here have always shown impeccable service. The food is always great, the garlic salmon and the prime galbi steak is really good. The music is not very loud, low enough to have a conversation without having to shout. Restrooms are always clean. Definitely recommend coming here. The ambience is nice. A great all you can eat sushi place if you want an affordable lunch option. Unlike other places this place offers lunch specials Monday through Friday. The key is that Friday is offered in it. Most places block off Friday Saturday Sunday and include that as a weekend price and is normally much higher. The worker/server was very friendly and he was out and about checking our table very often in order to order more rounds. The rounds came up very quick and even for the lunch option there's a bunch to choose from so we never felt like we're missing out on anything. I would of course order all of the one time things such as the salmon,, seafood bowl,. Everything was really fresh and Another stand out for me was the freshwater eel. My biggest tip is to not get any of the Unagi sauce since I feel like it really doesn't need it and it gets pretty salty and fills you up over time. read more

recently stopped by Mr. Shota and was genuinely impressed from start to finish. This spot hits that sweet balance between quality and value, especially if you catch their specials. First off, the nigiri deserves a shoutout--the fish-to-rice ratio was on point. Each piece had a generous cut of fresh fish without overwhelming the rice, which made every bite feel balanced and satisfying. You can tell they pay attention to the details. We also tried a few hot dishes, and they didn't disappoint. The karaage came out crispy on the outside and juicy inside, perfectly seasoned without being too heavy. The salmon steak was another standout--flavorful, tender, and cooked just right. Same goes for the beef short rib, which was rich, well-marinated, and fell apart with every bite. Service was just as solid as the food. Our server was attentive, friendly, and kept everything flowing smoothly without hovering--always a plus. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the value. Their weekday lunch special (until 4pm) is a great deal for the quality you're getting, and if you're out late, the $19 late-night special after 10pm is hard to beat. I did the all you can eat. I thought the quality of the sashimi fish was okay. The nigiri is where it is at. The fish is tasty and I highly recommend the eel. They have this all you can eat special at weekday nights from 9-11 for 19.99. That's a steal. Otherwise the price is still reasonable for the quality of the fish. I don't necessarily recommend the recommendations from the menu. I think ordering the nigiri is more worthwhile if you are a fan of sushi. read more

Our usual spot is down the street which is Sumo Sushi. Same owner I believe. Anyways, the wait was 55 mins for Sumo and it was already almost 9pm. We called Mr Shota and they said they had 1 table left. Or it could be a 15 min wait. When we got there, a group was leaving and there was 1 party of 2 ahead of us. Within less than a minute they were seated and we were right after. Super fast !! It's a small spot and this place has been different names before so we had stop coming here. But after today, it wasn't bad after all. The service was quick, the food was great. And to top it off, they had Ube and Thai tea ice cream !! Yummm ! Mr. Shota is one of six sushi restaurants as part of the Dragon Factories franchise in Las Vegas. It offers virtually the same menu as Sakana, Umami Sushi, Sushi Neko, Neko Supreme, and Sumo Sushi. I've visited three out of the six, and Mr. Shota has the best ambiance in my opinion. The lighting and decor really set the mood. As for the sushi, I thought the sashimi and nigiri were on par with the other locations, and offered great taste and lots of variety. I especially enjoyed the seared salmon with lemon, uni, and the sashimi platter. The service was great as well. Our waiter was attentive and checked on us often. He did not limit us as some of the other locations did. We came as a group of four, and finished all our plates without scraps. I only knock down a star due to the lack of dessert options the day we went. Although there were many more options on the menu, they only had maybe 2-3 mochi flavors available, with no affogato (my favorite) or ice cream. Regardless, I'd definitely still come back! read more

Came on a Saturday in December 2025, where they initially posted on FB/Insta about their DAILY 9 PM - closing $20 deal. Maybe it's my fault I should have rechecked, but they changed it to Mon-Thurs ONLY. Was super disappointed to see that they literally crossed out their deal, and changed it pretty last second. Since we were there anyways, decided to stay and pay the $34.95 price for AYCE sushi. SUPER DISAPPOINTED. I'm not giving Mr. Shota a 1 star because of the $20 to $35 sudden shift... I'm giving them a 1 star because their food quality was not there, service was super mediocre, and overall very very disappointed at their decline over the past years. Food Quality: - Nigiri: The only thing that was ok. Fish quality is average compared to other sushi spots in the valley, but they do give higher side of rice. Fish slices are also on the smaller side. Yellowtail, Salmon, Tuna are all fine. Seared options were mediocre as well, not bad. - Rolls: TERRIBLE! They advertise 2 of their signature rolls as *must try,* we got 1/2 rolls, couldn't finish them. Disgusting, filled with rice/cream cheese, super super disappointed and did not like it at all. Would not recommend any of their rolls - Skewers: Got their Galbi, it was literally a dry piece of meat burnt to a crisp. That was disgusting how are we supposed to eat that - Appetizers: was only looking for shrimp tempura, and they were all under-fried, barely crispy, and overall just unenjoyable. Conversely, their Coconut Shrimp was great! Overall, this spot is worth it ONLY if it's $20-30. Their $34.95 price now is definitely because they had a history of good reviews. Not good anymore!! Stay away!!! Fish/Nigiri quality is ok, as expected from an AYCE sushi spot. BAD ITEMS: rolls, skewers, appetizers (aka everything other than their nigiri). Definitely disappointed from their quality of service (take forever to come to get our order, had to flag down), poor food, and of course, the way they take back their deal of $20 daily after 9PM mid-way through their promotion. Really bad thing to do, they've lost a customer forever. read more

This place is easily top two AYCE spot in Vegas and let me tell you why. The portions for the sashimi is good. Let me start by saying I've been to four of the other top ayce spots in vegas and they're decent but this is my top two. They're bite size so that you get a good taste with a good rice ratio. They're not huge so you don't get full and you can try other things. Their selection on the menu is very fair it may not be a massive selection, but the selection that they do have all taste really good. The speed at which they bring the food out is very fast so you don't really have to worry about waiting. Staff was attentive and fast. My only gripe was when I called and asked what the wait time was server said 30 minutes when really there was no wait. Not sure why they lied if I had trusted that information I wouldn't have gone and missed out. read more

Literally one of my favorite sushi spots in Vegas. Everything tastes insanely fresh every time, the rolls were actually packed with flavor (not just rice), and every single thing we ordered hit. The service was great too, and the whole vibe was modern and clean without feeling overrated. Vegas has made it an art of delivering restaurants that excel at all you can eat sushi. I love this place the best! Easy 5 stars, all the many dishes we had were spot on. My personal favorites was the garlic tuna, freshwater eel, the coconut shrimp, sea urchin and the ube ice cream. The freshest fish with wonderful undertones of the ocean. read more

Shota is part of the same restaurant family as Sakana and Sushi Neko, offering a $29.95 AYCE menu with a nice variety of sushi and cooked dishes. The flavors were good, and the servers were friendly. Ordering was simple, but the execution was inconsistent. We received several items we didn't order, and a few we requested never came--even after following up 2-3 times. Unfortunately, those missing items never showed up. Overall, the food is good, but just be prepared for possible mix-ups with your order. Fantastic experience! We were on this side of town for an IKEA run and decided to have dinner. Found this gem tucked in the corner of a VONS shopping center. After a mere 10 minute wait, we were seated immediately and greeted just as quickly. The AYCE was only $34.95, with 90 minutes to enjoy. We started with their 'The Shit' and it was so YUMMY. Went for lunch and base option $25.99 and thinking good value? Unfortunately a bit less than usual quality or freshness of fish so stuck more with small plated cooked items... Huge Korean and Japanese options to choose from to boot! Hate to say this but overall pretty MID!! The sushi was nothing special and the salmon skin was just little crumbs. I feel we should have known better ordering from an AYCE sushi place. Best not to expect great quality. The Hamachi Kama is back! (In limited quantities). Jackson let us know that they offer Salmon and Hamachi Kama, but it's one per table and you can only choose one. We came for lunch and it wasn't too busy. Our food didn't take too long to come out, but keep in mind the Kama, Kalbi, and skewers take longer. Music is great and restaurant is clean. After much review from friends and online influencers, I opted to take the drive to the Southwest corner. We came in around 4:30/5:00 and they weren't really busy. It was the all-day; AYCE. For 3 people it was about $140 with a 20% tip I'm normally a salmon girly, but the salmon nigiri didn't really hit to me. I ended up loving their yellowtail nigiri so much more. I ended up with so many orders that I lost count. It was hit or miss on the rice to fish ratio. Sometimes it was good, other times it almost felt like a roll. Now the knock of a star is for the "time limit". You have a 90 minute time limit, which we didnt realize when we sat down. One of our members, it was their first time at an AYCE so he was overwhelmed and it took him like 3 orders before he could feel comfy. I also don't appreciate the time limit when it takes awhile to get the attention of our waiter. At one point we had to wait for the waiter and had to call him over. By the time we called him he told us it was last call. I took a glance around the room and they were not busy. So I was a bit pissy after that. Overall it was a fine experience but due to the time limit and distance I don't see myself frequenting this place read more

I usually don't take the time to leave negative reviews, but the service was that bad. This was the worst service I've experienced at a restaurant. The staff was unprofessional and inattentive, we had to ask repeatedly for the simplest things, like napkins and help cleaning up an accidental spill. They couldn't even tell us the names of their own rolls when we were trying to sort out whose order was whose. read more

Mr Shota is one of my favorite AYCE sushi places in Vegas, especially in the South West side. The service is pretty fast to the point where you may even get your food faster than your drinks. The portion of the food is also pretty good because they don't bulk up your nigiri with a large amount of rice. This used to have a bunch of anime decor on the wall, but they switched it to a more modern/traditional feel with the black and wood. As far as AYCE selection, I'd always say to try any of the dishes where you're limited to only one. That is usually a sign that it is something premium or something that is really good. You don't have to order so much unless you're that hungry, because the service is usually pretty fast and you get your food almost instantly. My go to is always a combination of nigiri's such as mackerel, escolar, salmon belly, ama ebi, squid, etc. That with soy sauce and wasabi and I'm a happy customer. I usually order any spicy roll as well just to add some other flavors onto the table. Overall, Mr Shota is pretty similar to a majority of AYCE sushi places, but what makes this place stick out more to me is the fast service in which you order your food. read more

It's sad how this place changed their sushi menu. I used to come here often and when we returned after they changed the menu, it was a big regret. Their old menu was great. They offered quail eggs and used to offer cucumber wrapped sushi instead of soy paper for the riceless sushi. Prices are higher too for the not so great sushi. As another person mentioned they put more sauce on the sushi, which doesn't make it taste better. I think it's a strategy to make you full. I won't come back. Will have to find a new spot. read more

We ordered so much in a span of an hour. Our favorites were the salmon and yellow tail carpaccios, baked green mussels, seafood salad, baked lobster roll, dynamite, short rib kalbi ( so tender), beef bulgogi and their dessert ice creams. Yikes. This place is a disgrace to the world of sushi. The service was good, but the RICE IS HORRENDOUS. They do not make it right. I couldn't eat the rice and got charged for wasting food. Parking is easy in their parking lot that is shared with other businesses in this shopping plaza. All day price is $29.95 per person. Not bad..but I don't recommend getting the rolls here. They have a special lower price for late night eating starting at 9 PM. read more

A southwest hidden gem. Everything was so good especially the baked mussels. Service there was good but a bit slow. The place is small, compact. They closed at midnight which is okay but I wish they are open late like 2am. We went there an hour and a half before closing and we ordered a lot of food which we nearly did not finish. They do charge for food that you don't finish so make sure to order what you can finish. read more

The second time, I was in the shuttle, and tried to reason with her. After she was like "there are no refunds", we hung up. The third and final time I called, I could talk and was in my car. I asked if ANYONE could make this right. Stacey stated that Sheri the GM could. Stacey asked me why I didn't ask for a manager on Saturday. I advised that I did ask and was told no one could reverse it. Stacey then says, "I'm not sure why you were told that b/c all THREE of us were here." I asked, "What do you mean all three?" Stacey disconnects the call. I don't call back b/c she gave me Sheri's email. I sent Sheri my email and it took a couple of days for a response. At first, Sherri only apologized for the experience. I wrote back that she did not address THE DUP CHARGE. She finally gives in and refunds my money after I advised that AMEX would be contacted. Lesson: DOUBLE CHECK your date of the reservation. Do NOT make a reservation, just go to the VIP LINE, pay $146 to get in and $50 MORE to skip the line. If you make a reservation, you WILL stand in one line after the next. I'm giving two stars for how this was handled. No ONE has an EXTRA $146 to GIVE AWAY! I don't know who else has experienced this, but I'm not paying for what I didn't get. What I liked most was the variety--they also had sushi, a salad bar, fresh fruits, and a seafood section with shrimp, oysters, salmon, and other options. For drinks, they offered coffee, tea, and juice, which was convenient. And of course, there were lots of desserts like cakes, pastries, gelato, and mini sweets. The atmosphere felt more festive since it was New Year's Day. It was a bit busy, but still organized, and the place has that elegant Bellagio vibe without feeling too overwhelming. Personally, I didn't eat as much as I wanted because I wasn't feeling well that day and didn't have much of an appetite (as I've mentioned in my past videos), but my husband really enjoyed the food, so that made the experience worth it for us. As part of their routine efforts, they oversee inspections of food establishments like Mr. Shota, focusing on proper handling, hygiene, and prevention of foodborne illnesses. However, despite their strict regulations, foodborne pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus can sometimes slip through, especially if food is improperly stored or handled, leading to contamination. This used to be 808 SUSHI, owned by a Hawai'i local and it was great. We were sad to see that it had changed once we moved to this side of town... BUT ended up loving the new restaurant. We've been back countless times since they had their soft opening and needless to say, it's our go-to sushi place! It's definitely succeeded in gaining lots of attention and foot traffic, which makes it kind of annoying if you're planning to come here during dinner time. The wait is an hour on average, so be prepared to keep you and your party occupied before then. I will say that I do appreciate the option to get on the waitlist through the Yelp app! I did only give 4 stars, reason being that they have raised their pricing within such a short amount of time as well as the spacing between booths/tables are pretty close together. I've seen the servers constantly almost bump into each other while holding full trays and I also feel like whoever is sitting behind me in the booth area is breathing down my neck. Other than that, the food is *chefs kiss*!!! If you don't want to wait long to be seated, let alone to receive your food and eat, I suggest eating here before 4:00pm. Used to be a regular but came today and the quality has dropped drastically. I don't think I've seen tuna this low quality and unfresh before... it was genuinely pale and grey and felt like I was chewing a well done steak. When I told the server, she was super sweet and got me a new one that looked fine. But the order right after that went back to this grey tuna, honestly looked like they grabbed our first order back out of the sink Service was also really mediocre. For $30 a person, the server came to our table twice in the entire time we were there. Both of the times we had to flag them down. Before we even got to order the first time, we had been sat for ~15 min. All the tables around us also didn't get service and were trying to flag someone down the entire time. My partner and I have been loyal customers of Mr. Shoda for years, enjoying both their delicious sushi and their happy hour. The service has always been good, making each visit welcoming and enjoyable. However, during our most recent visit, we encountered a frustrating issue. We arrived at 9 PM, expecting happy hour to begin, as it had in the past and as the menu indicated. We ordered our food under that assumption we were dining for happy hour but when it came time to pay, we were charged full price and told that happy hour wasn't in effect yet. This was a bit disappointing, especially since we hadn't been informed of any changes. In summary, while our past experiences have been wonderful, this visit left us feeling let down due to the unexpected pricing. She went out of her way to ensure that my daughter, who has a seafood and dairy allergy, could eat safely. The food was excellent, especially the nigiri, which I highly recommend. I also tried the "Nezuko" roll, which was delicious, though the portion was so generous that I couldn't eat much else afterwards. It's important to note that this may not be the best place for those with seafood and dairy allergies. Even dishes that typically don't contain these ingredients, like the kalbi and teriyaki chicken, were advised against due to possible cross-contamination. I would like to recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi and the great atmosphere. We have been to many sushi places but this is our favorite. Luckily for us the guys work late and we can always eat here after work, which ends at 10pm. The special atmosphere and great service is created by Erica, she pays attention to each guest, takes orders promptly and on top of that is a great conversationalist and person! My husband and I were in the second location of this chain, but unfortunately, despite the good food, we will not return there again, after all, the service is the first place in the restaurant business, but it is not as good as in this location. This place is amazing! I went in today with my boyfriend and we were pleased with how delicious the food was! The portions are great and the food came out fast. Not to mention how kind our server, Ersha, was! She was attentive and addressed our every need. I find that at most AYCE places, the servers don't really care about the customers because of how busy it gets. But Ersha held conversations with us and she is definitely the best server we've ever had. She also recommended us a lot of dishes to try since it was our first time there. I wish Ersha worked at every restaurant that we go to because that would guarantee exquisite service. Overall, this place is definitely one that should be on your "must-try" list! I went to Mr. Shota recently and had Jackson as my waiter, and honestly, he made the whole experience way better. From the start, he was super friendly and welcoming without being over the top, which I really appreciated. He checked in at the right times, not too much, not too little, and made sure we always had what we needed. He also had really good recommendations--everything he suggested ended up being exactly what we were in the mood for. Got seated quickly , server came to greet us almost immediately and the food, wow, not even 5 minutes after ordering it was already out! My favorites were the towering sashimi, seared white tuna and ocean trout!! Some of the rolls seemed alittle bleh kind of like just thrown together but delicious nonetheless. Also bogo soju !! Mr. Shota Sushi in Las Vegas is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how clean and inviting the place was. The lunch AYCE was not only delicious but also incredibly timely, ensuring we had a satisfying and efficient dining experience. What truly stood out was the exceptional service we received, especially from Maylene, our wonderful and dear waitress. She was incredibly accommodating and sweet, making sure we had everything we needed. Victor our busser also was very considerate and helpful! A pretty nice anime themed all you can eat sushi place. The customer service was pretty good, especially our server, Danny (pretty cool dude; The food was fantastic with some of the rolls being named after some anime characters. In fact, I 1v3'ed Goku, Freiza, and Asta all at the same time (albeit Freiza left me incapacitated), so it was pretty cool; and the place overall looks nice, with the walls being lattered with manga panels from different anime (Spy Family, My Hero, etc.). Also, Danny (the very cool server dude) said that the male bathroom was decorated for Dragon Ball fans, so again, that was definitely pretty cool. The overall experience was Wonderful! Mr.Shota's team provided a quality food, exceptional service, and communicative ambiance. First, the food quality and combination heightened the taste with dishes like Goku, Lisa Lisa, and salmon sashimi. Second, the service was impeccable. We were lucky to have been served by Camilla. She tended to each of our family members diligently and carefully, especially with my grandma being allergic to crab. Lastly, the ambiance of the restaurant made it easy to hear and chat amongst family members unlike other restaurants. In conclusion, to put it simply, Mr.Shota can easily become the single restaurant that services my sushi needs all day everyday. read more

The sushi came out super fast, like so quick, like insanely fast, like flash fast, like so fast I blinked and it was already out, like so fast my dad said it was fast, lbut our waiter Danny was great. Even Danny couldn't believe how fast our food came out. Danny was great, super friendly and fast service. Like 5 star service and 5 star speed, like so fast that he knew what I wanted before I even said anything. Great guy, actually bought me a Lamborghini once. Great guy for real. Danny is a top notch guy. Give him a raise. Great guy. Came again and Dee was a wonderful server as well. Definitely made the experience. I love good sushi and I love a bargain so I've tried many AYCE sushi restaurants over the past several years with varying degrees of success. Tonight my daughter, my grandson and I ate at Mr. shota, and it was amazing!! A relatively small restaurant but also very popular, there were no empty tables, but never have I received our food so quickly. I believe there must have been some psychic communication going on!! Our waitress, the charming Danelene (?) did a great job as did all the staff!! And the food was delicious and fresh with many unique dishes!! The hardest thing to believe is that it was AYCE because the quality of the food and the service was so high!! read more

Amazing selection for the all you can eat! I love all the different and unique appetizers you can order. I wish the grilled squid was a little more grilled, but other than that everything else was perfect. Obviously you're not gonna get grade A uni for AYCE, but the uni they had was really tasty and fresh. So were the raw oysters. The best part about this is place is they don't try to kill you with rice. The nigiris have the least amount of rice out of any AYCE place I've been to, and are topped with thick long pieces of fish. Quality is excellent. If you like weird rolls with crazy colors, they have those too. All in all I will be back. Def worth the price. read more

I never write reviews however, I fell in love with Mr. Shota!! This restaurant is one of a kind and unique in every way. My server was AK and despite being busy, he was very sweet. Managed to always keep food on our table and gave us some laughs as well. The Yuzu Yellowtail was my favorite on the menu and I also recommend the kalbi. Also had the Sasuke roll from the "anime section." Mr. Shota also offers skewers limited 1 per person. The restaurant can carter to larger parties so I will bring my whole family here next time. The whole staff works very hard and were all nice while dropping off the food. Definitely will be back soon!!! read more

However, the food and service timing were a different story. The Spider Roll contained carrots, which were not listed on the menu. For anyone with food preferences or dietary concerns, that kind of surprise can be frustrating. The biggest issue was the wait time. My son's sizzling bulgogi was the last item we ordered, and after waiting close to 30 minutes beyond when everything else had arrived, it still hadn't come out. I asked our server about it, and she checked with the kitchen before returning to say they were working on it. After waiting even longer, we needed to leave, so I asked if we could simply take the bulgogi to go when it was ready. I was surprised when I was told that if we took it to go, we would be charged à la carte. I explained that the delay wasn't our fault and that we had already been waiting nearly 30 minutes for that one item. The response was that we could either pay the additional charge or cancel the item altogether. That interaction left a bad taste in our mouths. Delays happen, and we try to be understanding, but charging extra because the kitchen took so long to prepare an item felt unreasonable. Combined with food that was just average at best, it was enough to ensure we won't be returning. It's unfortunate because the restaurant has a pleasant environment and friendly staff, but the long wait times, menu inconsistencies, and how the situation was handled overshadowed the experience.

Hubby ate them and told me they were very chewy so I'm glad I didn't try it. The hubby ordered his usual, salmon nigiri, toro, uni etc... Last we ordered dessert which comes with the ayce meal. I got coffee affogato and hubby got mango mochi. I was so stuffed when we wobbled out of there lol I recommend they slice the pork in the soup thinner. It was too thick.
