Expectations were high for Gyu + as we saw quite a few YouTube videos and Instagram reels. We arrived around 11:15 and the line was out the door already. We ordered the Lulu's Sando box and the chips. The bread is what makes this sando amazing! The chicken katsu sandwich was definitely the winner and our favorite. The egg salad needed a little more flavor and one of the egg salad sandwiches barely had any egg salad in it, after 1 bite the rest was literally bread. The steak sandwich was tender and good. Chips had a homemade taste and seasoning was good. Service was fine, very busy and seemed short staffed. Staff was nice and doing the best they can with the crowd. While we were wawiting, seems like the owner came in and took charge and things started moving more efficiently. Overall, it was decent. Because it was our first time, we wanted to sample a little of everything (and feed hungry kids), so we ordered the Steak Sando, Spicy Chicken Katsu Sando, Shrimp Sando, Pork Belly Rice Box, and the Chef's Box. Everything came out flavorful and well put together--no bland bites, no soggy bread, and nothing felt "thrown on a plate." Even our kids (who aren't big sandwich fans) couldn't stop eating, which is basically the highest compliment in our house. The shrimp sando was the clear standout. The shrimp patty is huge--honestly burger-sized--with a crispy panko crust that stayed crunchy, and the shishito pepper mayo added just the right kick without overpowering the shrimp. The shokupan bread deserves its own shout-out too: soft and pillowy, but sturdy enough to hold everything together without falling apart or getting soggy. If you're going for just one thing, I'd start there. The Steak Sando was rich and satisfying, and the Spicy Chicken Katsu hit that comfort-food spot with a nice little heat. If you're more of a rice person (or you want something extra filling), the Pork Belly Rice Box and Chef's Box are great choices--both were packed with flavor and felt like a solid meal, not a skimpy "side box." We ordered a mix and it was perfect for sharing family-style, but everything also works as its own main. Another pleasant surprise: the space is larger than it looks from the front. There are a few high-top seats up front, plus a back room with tables and booths, so it's not just a quick grab-and-go spot. And Thursday through Saturday they set up a social lounge and offer a bonus menu with additional options. We're definitely coming back to check that out (and the karaoke setup too). read more

The restaurant is fairly small inside, but there's shaded seating outside as well. The interior is decorated with all types of cool items, definitely worth looking around when you're waiting. We came in the middle of the day and there was no line at all. My wife and I shared a steak sandwich. One order was enough for the both of us, for a snack anyway. You get the sandwich split into 3 pieces. Each piece comes with a good amount of steak and sauce. It was a well cooked piece of steak, medium rare. The steak was tender. They have high tables at the main area where you order, outdoor seatings, and in the back of the restaurant. Loved my first lunch experience here! The cozy & modern fast-casual was spotless! The Asian male staff was super nice & took his time to tell me about the menu. I was HUNGRY upon arrival (I only had a small organic apple & black coffee for breakfast), and decided on the salmon bowl. We came at 11:00am, and they were already packed out. The wait time was over thirty minutes, which we were warned of after we ordered, but we were okay to wait. The staff were attentive and gave out chips for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, I just cannot enjoy the food. The egg sandwich was severely under seasoned, and it literally just tastes like egg. This is the definition of taste of Japan. Took me back to when I was in Japan eating egg sandwiches daily! The staff was so friendly. The line went out the door when I was there on a Saturday during lunch time. Waited about 15 minutes and completely worth the wait. The staff would come in and out thanking everyone for their patience, in which I appreciate the acknowledgment in the heat! They were doing the fastest they can, and by the time I ordered, probably took 5 mins to get the sandwiches out! The boss, I presumed, came out and gave us our sandwiches. Super nice and friendly. Even came back around to see what are thoughts were on the food! The place looks small but there is a cute back with cherry blossoms and lofi music that makes the vibe of the restaurant, so don't be fooled that the front is the only place to sit! It was more of a B+ than an A+. Gyu Plus is a fun casual eats spot that also has a social lounge on some nights. I was here for lunch though, and the latest Las Vegas Weekly coincidentally had just run a feature on them and particularly their egg sandwich. It sounded a little more doable than the more famous steak version since I was in a Chinatown crawl of sorts, so I went for it. The Egg Sando ($11.99) does look and taste appealing. It's lightly sweet shokupan (Japanese milk bread) toasted on the interior-facing side, a thick layer of egg salad, and a jammy egg with vibrant orange yolk. Despite the obvious visual appeal, the flavors were a little on the bland side. I could've used a touch of mustard or something zesty to jazz it up. Fortunately, I also ordered their Togarashi Potato Chips ($5.99), which are excellent on their own or when used in every bite to enhance an Egg Sando. These chips are very crispy, fatty in a great way, lightly spicy, and even more complex when you can get a bit of rosemary into your mouth. The Passion Fruit Mango Juice (~$7?) was great when sipped around the same time as enjoying the sandwich (either hot and fresh or more room temp later that evening), but a little odd and bland when sipped for several consecutive strawfuls on its own. The mango stands out much more than the passion fruit, which I expected to add noticeable acidity. I would likely go with with soda or even plain water next time. Service was good, with the employees and even someone whom I believe is the owner checking on me multiple times during my visit. That gentleman also helped me pack my unfinished food to-go after I called it quits. I will have to come back to Gyu Plus to try out the Steak Sando, a rice bowl, or maybe even that night menu. Came by on a Sunday at noon. Busy would be an understatement. Line that extended out the door onto the patio area. Line moved rather quickly though. Menu was concise in their offerings. Went with the Steak Sando, Togarashi Chips, and the Egg Sando. Took a bit to get our order, but I would say it was worth it. Steak sandos were perfectly pink (in my opinion) with sauce pipettes for extra flavor. Egg sandos were nicely blended with plenty of filling so there were no gaps between the slices of bread. I go the spicy katsu Sando at Guy Plus. It was pretty good, but I didn't love the sauce/seasoning. I was hoping it could be spicier, but it was on the sweeter side for me. Thats fine, but since you make this "mix" with mayo, you should have a bottle of mayo or already made mayo there. What's so hard about adding more for a customer? We finally got to try Gyu Plus and we couldn't have been more satisfied! We were immediately greeted when we arrived and the staff was super nice and walked us through the menu. The restaurant has both an inside, and outside seating area, both were extremely clean which we liked. Both the egg and steak Sandos were delicious, super flavorful! We also received their homemade potato chips that had a hint of spice, rosemary and sea salt yum! We got the variety box, it was 47$ so on the pricy side for sandwiches, however it was enough that 3 of us shared it and we were all satisfied. Definitely seemed like fresh, quality ingredients as well. The chicken katsu sandwich was the unanimous winner for us with the steak sandwich a close second. The egg salad was meh personally, but it was still worth it to try them all. Super friendly service so that's a plus, it's a small place but we were able to get a table outside and didn't have to wait long for the food. Gyu Social was an exquisite and intimate experience. The tomahawk steak melted in your mouth and the carbonara noodles were perfectly chewy. I do wish the pancetta on the noodles added more saltines but that's a personal preference. The chef sauteed a mix of vegetables for us and they were seasoned perfectly. The staff and owner are warm and friendly and easy to talk to. We had the bread pudding for dessert - it was cold, which was surprising, but it was delicious! I saw this place when a famous YouTuber was here and it looked good so I wanted to try it. When we walked up there was a massive line out the door. I decided to go with the Japanese waygu sandwich combo because ive always wondered what real Japanese waygu is like. I also ordered the egg sando because I was curious of the difference in eggs. After waiting another 30 min for our food to come out the steak was COMPLETELY raw! It was cold and hardly cooked. As my daughter put it, it was raw mushy meat. This was the biggest let down ever! 100 dollar sandwich and its not even cooked! It had absolutely no flavor except raw meat and a little onion flavor from the chopped onions on top. Even with the provided sauce it was pretty flavorless. One bite and i couldn't do it. I about got sick. I eat my steaks medium rare but my stomach told me that was beyond my limit of rare. It was a really tender meat which was disappointing because if cooked properly im sure it would have been an experience. A good sear on that steak probably would put it over the top. I was also disappointed in the egg sandwich. You could taste a difference in the eggs. I can't really describe the difference but they were better than the store bought eggs here. The sandwich itself had absolutely no flavor, it was beyond bland. It was dry and bland. The chips hardly had any truffle flavor, again just bland chips. The creme brule would have been very good I actually enjoyed the addition of the pandan. But it was kind of curdled and chunky and not a smooth brule texture. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated, and the staff was kind and welcoming throughout. We ordered the togarashi potato chips as an appetizer, along with the steak sando, spicy chicken katsu sando, and egg sando. The chips were pretty yummy but not very filling. I fully expected the spicy chicken katsu sando to be my favorite, but surprisingly, the steak sando was the star! It was incredibly flavorful. Everyone in my group of five agreed. Overall really good sandos! I just got too tired of the bread after the first sando. I got the steak sando and tried the chicken from my friends. The chips were also a good side to give you a break on the soft bread texture. We also dined in and sat down in the back which I believe becomes a speakeasy bar at night. I loved the chicken sandwich from here. We ordered steak and chicken and I thought I would like the steak a lot more. It was good, but a bit sweet. The chicken was crispy and had a perfect ratio of toppings. I think it's really cool how they have the sauce in stoppers to squeeze on!
