Solid spot. Great vibe. Something a little different on Interstate 70 in Idaho Springs

Literally the worst gyro I've ever had. Old reheated meat, no sauce, scraps of lettuce and tomato.

Yummy gyros with very generous portions of meat! We liked the fried zucchini and onion rings too.

I quickly searched "Mediterranean" driving back to Denver and took a chance driving into Golden as…read moreI saw great looking photos for Amir Grill. What a great last second choice I made. We were the first ones in and beat the dinner crowd. The lentil soup was different than what I'm used to since it was blended. It was a delightful version! I got the Amir platter which was seriously enough food for 3 people. The chicken kebab was absolutely delicious and everything was just perfection. It comes with a pita the size of your head. Our waiter kept checking back despite the rush. What a wonderful place

The menu has many classics including gyros, shawarma, kabobs, and the fresh pita bread is a home run. Chicken tika masala 9/10 The pictures can't describe how creamy the sauce was. So rich in color, deep with flavor and the filled with chicken chunks. Of course, you have to dip the fresh baked pita bread into this to appreciate how amazing it was. Gyros 9/10 The gyro plate was more of a platter loaded with beef and lamb. The spices on the meat were so delicious and cooked to perfection. Every bite was balanced with the coolness from the hummus and lightness of the rice. We were treated to a sample of the Turkish coffee. Wow, I was pleasantly surprised how light and aromatic it was. Not bitter or burnt.

Yahya offered a little Halloween discount which motivated us to place a large takeout order…read more The Greek salad, hummus, baba ganoush, grape leaves, and gyros meat were all at their usual level of excellence. The tabouleh salad tasted particularly fresh. I tried the lamb shank for the first time. I received a very generous portion of lamb and rice. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender and very flavorful. I enjoyed the dish a lot. Yahya's continues to be one of our favorite restaurants with fresh, healthy, and delicious food at a reasonable price. Conveniently, it is also just a three minute drive from my house!

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it was a disappointment…read more The highlights were the lentil soup and the hummus. Both were fresh, flavorful, and the portion sizes were generous. Unfortunately, everything else missed the mark. The chicken kebabs had an unexpected sweetness that just didn't work for me. The side salad looked wilted and didn't seem very fresh, and even the dressing was overly sweet. The rice was bland and had almost no flavor. The biggest letdown was the garlic sauce--it tasted like it was made with mayonnaise instead of a traditional garlic sauce, and I found it unpleasant. The overall atmosphere didn't help. The restaurant didn't seem particularly clean, the décor and ambiance felt like they had been thrown together, and the employees came across as disconnected rather than welcoming or engaged. I can easily overlook a place that's been put together on a budget if the food is outstanding, but in this case, it simply wasn't. Aside from the lentil soup and hummus, I didn't enjoy the meal. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

I was excited to try after watching a documentary on the Somm channel about that specific winemaker. The wine was delicious. Additionally, I was so happy to see small boutique wine from the Santa Barbara area like Amevive and A Tribute to Grace. Our server Yvonne guided our menu choices thoughtfully and enhanced our experience with excellent service. We started with watermelon feta salad with baby cilantro, walnuts, and harissa oil. The watermelon was cool, sweet, and crisp and the flavors balanced perfectly. If you are a pickle lover you must get the pickles. I think I will be dreaming of them. The pickled cabbage, okra, califlower and snap peas were just the best! The pitas were puffy, but not hollow, and warm. There was also an olive oil dipping sauce that complemented everything. Star of the show for me was the forgaged mushrooms and hummus. These were the most delicious mushrooms and snoothest hummus I have ever experienced, and I think there might be magicians in the kitchen. Our other dishes were cabbage and eggplant. Both taste explosions, done masterfully with a sauce, color and texture. This food is truly incredible, highly recommend. I am in Denver for work, anytime I travel back to Denver I will for sure return to Safta.

Our fave Mediterranean sit down restaurant is in Denver so we were hoping this would become our local go to. Located conveniently just off of 28th street we easily found parking. Staff were welcoming and friendly. We were delighted by all the pastries (various baklava and more), grab and go breads and dips, grocery offerings as well as the huge menu for food. I went for a chicken plate while my partner went for a gyro plate. Our meals were cooked expertly and ready within minutes & we ate right in the market. Our plates were so inviting with fresh salad, feta, tzatziki, olives and fresh warm soft bread. Everything tasted so great we didn't even take a picture. We also indulged in a couple pistachio baklava pastries - yum. Recommending to all our friends and can't wait to go back.
