Simply put,, Gyro World is the best! Consistently delicious food: tender, succulent grilled chicken, fresh, tasty salads, the rice is always seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection, friendly energetic staff, the place rocks! read more

Since my wife's parents live in the area, had a chance to try them out a couple of times. First, ordered the souvlaki sandwich and spinach pie. Sandwich was stuffed with cubed beef, tomatoes, red onions and real tzatziki sauce. Spinach pie was okay but lukewarm. Second try was the gyro sandwich. Again, stuffed with meat and very hearty. Prices are reasonable for what you get and the tzatziki sauce has slivers of cucumber in it. Next time I'll have to try the chicken and the fries. read more

Food is great. Only have done takeout here though. I have never dined in. Takeout has been very fast. Staff seems like they could be a bit mor friendly, but are efficient. read more

I went back to Gyro World about two weeks ago. It looks like they expanded the place. The food is still really good and the prices are perfect. The staff is still friendly; especially Gabriel. read more

This is a review of our take-out experience. Salads - not fresh: My husband picks up the food and looks like all the orders are in there accurately. The salads that came with the platter come with dressing on the side. We had two salads so I use our big salad bowl to combine the two salads and add the dressing. When I flip them into the bowl - I notice the lettuce doesn't look fresh. Kind of look like they were sitting in a cold fridge all day. Not fresh to order. They give you one cube of feta - which is kind of a main ingredient for a greek salad, no? Taste: The pork souvlaki was very good. The chicken souvlaki is really underwhelming. Both were a bit overcooked though. Their rice was good. Lemon potatoes were nothing special. Tzatziki was good. We personally have had better platters and sandwiches @ Nikitas Place on Utopia Pkwy in Bayside. We always compare other greek restaurants to Nikitas because their food is fresh/delicious. read more

Great place my husband and I love it there!!! The owner is awesome as welll!!,check it out!

Good Mediterranean food at an decent price point. However, the reason for the three star rating is really due to the slow service and indifferent energy I felt on the overall. read more

Great gyros, fries and the tzaziki sauce is absolutely delicious. The fried calamari is the best I've ever had! The chicken gyro plate is amazing. The portions are huge and we always have leftovers to take home. My favorite Greek place! read more

The Greek Gyro (pork) and Pork Souvlaki are good. This one waiter was super nice to my family, especially to my infant daughter. The wait staff was generally nice. Good food, nice people, and conveniently located. I wish they had lamb souvlaki as it is my favorite dish, but their pork souvlaki is good so it is OK. read more

Had a lamb gyro and iced tea last night. It was even better than I remembered, very tasty. The gyro was stuffed full with lamb.

Great service that corresponds with great food. I been here several times, and the food is extremely good on every occasion. The meat they use it fresh and cleaned well, I would highly prefer getting grilled chicken. The people that work here are extremely helpful if you need help ordering. read more

I love the food here but really guys?? One ketchup for a cheeseburger with fries. Smh

Very good! No complaints. The food was delicious, staff very accommodating and pleasant. It's a casual ambiance but still feels nice and homely. The lemony flavor that accents their dishes is exquisite. Definitely try the lemon soup & get the lemon potatoes. The beef & lamb tasted good. Definitely hit the spot tonight. read more

I ran into Gyro World by accident while trying to find a place to eat with my wife. I was pleasantly stunned when we entered as we were greeted immediately and seated. We were quickly greeted by our waitress who took our drink order and then about 5 minutes later took our food order. We ordered a chicken platter which consisted of French fries, a whole wheat pita, and chicken. I have to say everything on my plate tasted FRESH!!! The chicken was well seasoned and cooked perfectly!! I would def recommend you try it out!!! read more

Their food is good! We usually order the "Platter for 2" which has plenty of MEAT and is a great selection of beef, lamb, chicken, sausage, etc. Parking is a bit challenging for pick up, but we usually have someone wait with the car while the other one goes inside. read more

Gyro World makes the best gyros. The burger deluxes are also great too. They also do fast deliveries which I LOVE...

I have been a big fan of Gyro World for a few years. I used to swear by Fontana as # 1 in Queens, but GW has taken over. Huge portions, and quick service. A good tip for a take out order is to call ahead. It gets pretty busy at night. read more

Excellent gyro, spinach pie is flaky not greasy, delicious juicy chicken souvlaki and the best hamburger in town. A nice neighborhood place

If you are in the Queens area and are in the mode for Delicious gyros then come here! I will definitely return!

This is my favorite Greek food in the area! The prices are great and the gyro and lemon potatoes are incredible. The pita is always freshly made as is the white sauce! Which I get extra every time. Have only picked up or ate there. The service is alright sometimes great sometimes bad but with the prices it's fine! They also have delivery which I have yet to try! Great eats! read more

One of my go to Greek places. Super affordable, big portions, great tasting food. The feta cheese is to die for. Can never go wrong with any platter with lemon potatoes. Nom read more

Excellent Greek Gyro! I had the Beef Souvlaki with fresh Pita bread. I find the Lemon Potatoes rather interesting. I haven't quite make up my mind about it. I definitely recommend the Beef Souvlaki. Very nice corner spot but it can be quite a task to find a parking space on weekends. read more

Chicken souvlaki here is great. Hefty portion of lemon potatoes. Good spinach pie, and the gyro is spot on. With great service to add to that, 5 stars. read more

awesome place to use for catering. My son's school principal ordered for the PTA board. The food was tasty and filling.

Ok first let's start from them not wanting to deliver to my house it's like they pick and choose where they r going to deliver I literally live 15 blocks away from them c'mon o can walk that distance in 10 min and they were giving me a hard time like I have to beg them ..and then I said ok .the food there is terrible dirty and very oily I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THERE OR EAT. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE BAD FOOD disappointed .smh Do not order from here read more

This place is great. Cheap prices great food. The wait is never too bad. I've never had a bad experience and the food has always been tasty. Word of advice, if you are just two people and order the gyro world plate (for two) it's too much. Just prepare to take food home. A boss of mine once bought the world plate for four, thinking that three grown men could finish it. We walked out with a lot of food in bags that day. Only reason it's four stars is because I think sometimes their delivery orders can be wrong. I realize that they are busy and things get mixed up and I'm certainly not upset about it, but I figured I would add it in case somebody had that as a deal breaker. read more

interior setting is nice and calm and very laid back. The souvlaki and bifteki platters are very good and I love them very well done. I recommend this place to all my friends all the time. Their greek salad is fresh and the pita bread to die for! I'm not sure about the other reviewers who didnt give such good reviews but I definitely give this place a thumbs up! read more

Great Greek grilled meats. The French fries can put McDonalds out of business. It tickles me pink to see a plethera of Asians always eating there. It means that when you're good everyone will be there, even if you are not Greek. read more

Get ready to eat!!! Great food but a tight squeeze. Attractive staff with cell-phone free, fast service. Take out is good quality but not as generous in size as compared to dining in. Good luck parking, ride your bike. Staff don't remember your name but ALWAYS get your order right. Grill is super efficient. Counter is often a staging area for takeout because of all the business - which is well earned. Take a flight to Greece if you want better Gyro - this is the new King. read more

Pretty good use to order this all the time till we ate so much we got sick of it good service fast delivery

The food here is really great authentic Greek. However just as good as the food is that's how poor the Service is. we have to usually beg for a glass of water. They never come up to you to ask you how are things and we had to ask for a top to the leftovers container three times. I come here with my wife from time to time hoping that they will get some good servers however that hasn't happened yet read more

I just moved to the neighborhood and tried many Greek places in the neighborhood. This place is the best gyro place. Amazing service and great food read more

Best gyros we've ever had! The tzatziki is SOOOOO good! We eat here all the time :-)

Food was just ok... Nothing great or special. Especially that there are so many Greek choices in the area. Better off trying a different place such as Avli or Gyro Corner. Both are within the same area and the food is so much better. No parking at this place either. I must say though that the staff were very nice. read more

Extremely disappointed. Ordered a combo platter, a combo sandwich, and a side of onion rings. The only thing worth the money was the onion rings. I always liked Gyro World, but the quality has really gone out the window since I last had food from here only 6 months prior. The combo platter was gyro and chicken souvlaki with fries and a soup. Everything was pretty flavorless. The soup was watery, the fries were greasy, and all the tiny bit of meat they gave was very dry. The amount of food (+the quality) was NOT worth $16. The sandwich, on the other hand, was SOAKED in grease from the gyro. Yet the gyro itself and the chicken was still dry. There was only about a teaspoon of tzatziki sauce and like 2 tomatoes. It was basically a grease-soaked pita filled with a tiny bit of food. The onion rings were a good value. Super crispy, but there was a good amount of onion in them. Got way more than I thought I was going to in a side order. Basically, if you're looking for good Greek food, don't go here. If you're looking for good onion rings, and just that, this is probably your place. read more

I'm not too familiar with authentic greek food and haven't had a Gyro in years. Living nearby, Ive decided to give Gyro World a try and have not regretted it! I ordered the chicken platter and a lamb gyro. The chicken platter was a little bit expensive but the lamb gyro was perfect. read more

This place is really good. I like the shish kebabs (steak and chicken) as well as the gyros. the chicken burgers are also very good. They're not dry and they are very tasty. The lemon potatoes are awesome as well as the Greek salad. read more

I just came from the Gyro world, and had take out. I got a Gyro wrap, and french fries. The Gyro wrap which is as good as any I've had, but the french fries were the worst I've ever had, they were soggy, mushy and pretty much disgusting. How can you make such a good Gyro and such awful french fries? read more

I've been here a couple of times before. Great tasting gyro, I must say. But reviews are about the business as a whole, and for the most recent trip, i.e. my trip about 3 minutes ago. Everybody knows parking is tough around this place. Combo that with non stop rain, and it could get really challenging. But you'll endure all that because in the end, you know you'll have a pretty damn good gyro. So after battling for parking, running in the rain, I get inside, and preceeded to order my gyro to go. After I ordered, I went and handed my credit card, only to be told that there's a $15 minimum transactions. First of all, it's illegal in the State of New York to have a minimum charge. But I'm willing to look over that, at a certain point. I wasn't trying to buy a side of pickles for $2, and try to charge it. I'm buying one of their featured food on the menu, and I just thought that a credit card would be acceptable. Again, not my first time here, so I've been able to use a credit card before for 1 gyro. If policies had changed, then please, post it somewhere in the store, clearly visible, to patrons who do not carry cash. I'm on the road, in and out of my work van, in every nooks and crannies of NY. It is not advisable that I carry cash with me. So, when I'm told that I can't eat what I battled parking, ran through the rain for...because you wouldn't take a credit card payment for a gyro...you get 1 star for that. Thank you, and have a nice day. read more
