Lamb Platter

Amazing service and even better food. Quality is always fresh and extremely tasty. Good amount of sit down space here as well.

This food is delicious!!! It's tender and flavored perfectly. They also delivered the food very quickly - within 30 min of ordering it. You get a good amount of food for the price - not a lot, but it's enough to fill you up for a meal. I'm looking forward to ordering from here again!

Chicken & rice. Now it's a party!

Been wanting to try Gyro King for a while and finally made it on this rainy Friday! When I walked in the staff was in the back room and I was wondering if they were open or not. After a moment, a nice chap came out who was eager to help me. I ordered a chicken platter and it did not disappoint! As you can see from my picture and those of others, you certainly get a healthy portion of rice, salad, and your protein of choice. A lot of good food for $7.49 all in! Chicken was flavorful, moist, and plentiful! Their red sauce also packs a nice kick! Rice was mild and tasty as well. I'm looking forward to going back! Check it out!

A combo rice platter used to $8. Now they are charging for $10 . Food still tastes pretty decent and you have the the salad bar. However it's not worth the price especially when you have a halal guys Restaurant 10 mins away by car. And other halal spots charging less.

This is my first time visiting a Gyro King , and won't be the last. They just opened up their #3 location here in Teaneck, NJ. I've drove by numerous time in the past wondering when the restaurant will open up and that day has finally arrived! There is a small parking lot off to the side, and street parking are also available. Restaurant is very bright, clean, and welcoming. The service staff who took my order gave many recommendations, extremely helpful, and efficient. Easily one of the best customer service experiences I have had. They work so fast!! I was in and out with my order in less than 5min. I ordered a falafel salad plated and a Lamb salad platter, each were $7+ tax!! No joke! Select your protein for the salad platter and then you may choose your desired toppings... and they are generous with the portions. My falafels were deep fried on the spot, and not fried in advance. My falafels where hot and crisp even after driving home because I order my food to go. FOOD is DELICIOUS. Rice cooked perfectly! Everything made in house and FRESH. Plus, the tzatziki tastes AMAZING. I could have easily made two meals out of my falafel platter with the generous portions. Hubby was extremely satisfied with the lamb platter. Meat is cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Restaurant seatings are available but I ordered mine to go. I can't wait to visit them again. Next time I will bring my Hubby along so he gets to build his own platter and then we will dine in. And I'd like to try their salmon special platter. Unbeatable prices for the quality of food, highly recommend. Give them a try, there's something for everyone. Lamb, chicken, falafel, fish, beef, burgers, etc.

It ends up adding 6.99 or 8.99 or 15.99 to the already 6.99 set price. Costing/charging you twice!!

Dear owner- please fix! Careful ordering online. Many options meant to select the quantity (like chicken nuggets or fried chicken) are actually set up to be double in price. So if you see 6.99 for nuggets and fries, when you select 6 piece... it ends up being doubled in price.

I was convinced walking in that this is the same Gyro King as the one in Bloomfield. I LOVE the Gyro King in Bloomfield, so I was eagerly waiting for what I thought was the same Gyro King to open it's doors in Teaneck. Sadly, the one is Teaneck is not the same. They just have the same company colors, an extremely similar menu, and are basically like fraternal twins in every way except for taste. When I walked in, the guy behind the counter who greeted me was extremely friendly! I ordered a chicken tikka platter. Chicken tikka platters always take more time to make than regular rice platters, so I anticipated the wait. The employee was so kind and apologized to me several times about the wait. Again, I anticipated this so it was all good. While my food was cooking I mentioned how much I love Gyro King in Bloomfield. It was then that I learned these restaurants aren't run by the same people. I sped home super excited to eat my platter because in my head everything was going to taste the same as (NY) Gyro King even though the restaurants have different owners. To my dismay, I found myself eating bland food. Aside from their super spicy red sauce, which happened to be one of the spiciest red sauces I've ever had, everything was lacking in flavor. The rice was beyond bland. The chicken was just as weak in taste and was chewy. Having had chicken and rice a million times, I figured if I put some more white sauce on my platter the taste would be so much better. BUT, the white sauce was just as pitiful. Since they just opened, I will give the owners some time to tweak their recipes before revisiting. Due to the location, I will give it another try. Hopefully next time I can add a star or two to my review.

Im going to be a regular at this spot! Food is amazing and customer service is on point. Had the chicken and lamb mixed platter. Fresh and tasty! White sauce and red sauce is on point! I've been eating Ny style chicken platters for over 20 years and this is at the top of my list GO!!!!

Needed a falafel fix today and took the plunge to try Gyro King. Well worth it. Good, plentiful for a good price. I had a falafel sandwich and a lamb gyro sandwich. Both sandwiches were so overflowing you'd be hard pressed to pick it up to eat. Think open face needing a fork. While the falafel was ok, the lamb was excellent. Both sandwiches came piled high with my chosen protein along with crunchy Mideastern salad and novel add in's, sweet corn, black olives. Then dressed with white sauce and a splash of hot sauce. While I waited for my order I watched them make several Grubhub orders. The plates with rice were also packed with ingredients. So much it took an effort to close the clam shell by the clerk. On top of the tasty food the staff were very helpful and attentive while I told them how I wanted the sandwiches made. 4 out of 5 starts because I want them to work on their falafel recipe

This place offers up fantastic Mediterranean fare and is run by some of the nicest people around. When they saw my husband eyeing a platter of an interesting dessert, they offered us both small spoonfuls to sample (I don't remember what it was called, but it was coconutty and delicious). I adored the falafel platter, which was a behemoth serving of 6 falafels, freshly made hummus, tabbouleh, and pita. The falafels were freshly fried and had a lovely sprinkle of sesame seeds. Coupled with a smooth smear of homemade hummus, my eyes were fluttering shut as I ate. My husband's side of the table went similarly silent as he dug voraciously into his mixed shawarma sandwich. He especially appreciated how they toasted the wrapper, which was more like a lavash than a pita. Before we left, we got a baba ghanoush to go. Our jaws dropped when we saw the serving size. We're so used to getting tiny containers from other spots that this giant aluminum platter of eggplant spread - complete with a little pool of fresh olive oil drizzle and stack of warmed pita - had us stilled with shock. We appreciated the sides and variety of sauces that came with our meal. The small cups of mayo, tzatziki, and spicy sauce, along with olives, pepperocinis, and pickled radishes, really helped complete our meal. These small and thoughtful touches made this meal feel more like eating in someone's home kitchen rather than a restaurant. On that note - know that everything is made from scratch and to order, which means the food will take a little longer than you might expect from a fast casual spot. This sweet gem is located on a random street in Hackensack, and a bit hard to find if you're not looking for it because there isn't much to draw attention to it. There's a small parking lot right in front of the restaurant, making it easy to drop in for a quick meal or to-go order.

Either find on the street nearby to walk or in the very tiny space in the front (to which good luck if you try to back out). However, that said the food more than makes up for it. Extremely fresh food made from scratch, you can tell the quality is there looking at the kitchen. This is also the only place to this day that I've found in the area that serves hot grape leaves, which are my favorite item on the menu, most mediterranean spots only make them cold. Their platters are also very filling and solid portion size. If you prefer to go lighter, there are also sandwich options with or without fries. Seating is very small, so takeout is their main business though you could certainly dine in if you'd like. Service has always been solid, the owner is very friendly! I'll keep coming back despite the tricky parking.

The baba ghanoush was everything I love in a good eggplant dip and was a definite win in our book - seasoned, textured, and slightly smokey. We intuited this would be delicious by getting two containers of it, and this turned out to be a great life choice. Chicken adana is a fan favorite in our house, and it's done pretty well here. They're like elongated loaves of marinated and spiced ground chicken, and delicious with rice and a dollop of yogurt sauce. We preferred these over the chicken kebab, which were just as flavorful but quite a bit drier. Both entrees were served with a grilled tomato and pepper, which were still warm and charred from the grill. They also came with small side salads, with lightly dressed and slightly wilted greens. My husband appreciated the extra veggies with our meal, but I far preferred the warm and soft pita rounds.

The menu is tantalizing and there's plenty of familiar favorites along with a few new-to-me items that the server readily described when I asked questions. This time, I tried the pargiot sandwich. I had no previous conception of 'pargiot' but another reviewer had sung praises about this wonderfully marinated chicken thigh meat. Having tried it, I'm not convinced it's blow-your-mind good, but it was decently flavorful and tender. You can customize the salad type that goes in your sandwich, and I chose the Israeli salad, a blend of tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. Mine felt a touch overstuffed since it was harder to taste the chicken and made my pita soggy quicker than I would have thought, but it's hard for me to ding points for generous servings. Our server checked in on us regularly and even thought to inquire about any sesame allergies before setting down the tahini dip that comes with the welcome platter of bread. As the restaurant got full and our visit came up against a reservation, I appreciated how respectfully he asked for the table. Speaking of reservations, it might be a good idea to make one for your visit, especially if you're thinking of coming for dinner. My friend and I came on a random Tuesday afternoon and this space completely filled up. There are also some outside tables available for possible spillover seating, but if your heart is set on coming here, call ahead. Parking in Englewood is always tough, especially come mealtimes because there are so many restaurants here. Make sure you come laden with quarters for the older parking meters or have the ParkMobile app ready for the spots that allow mobile payment.

The waiter didn't say anything when I mentioned that the food wasn't good. Just simply took the hummus and threw it out. I guess my feedback was futile. We started with their complementary bread, so fluffy and light, we pretty ate the whole thing before any of our dishes came. I ordered my favorite fried liver cubes from the hot apps section, and it was fantastic. It was full of flavor, perfectly sized cubes and properly fried. Tasted so good with the complimentary bread (we requested a second one). For entree we ordered the Mix Grill and Karisik Izgara as it was a perfectly sharable dish for two and we got to try 5 of their kebabs that are lamb shish, ground lamb, chicken shish, ground chicken and grilled meat patties. Both ground kebabs were excellent, full of flavors. The shish and patties were also good. We got the margarita pizza too, but that one was disappointed, seemed like some sauce was just thrown on top of the cheese and wasn't baked long enough. Our server was really friendly. She always stayed on top of things. Our dishes came out in quick time, it was impressive. Despite the shortcoming of the pizza, which is not usually a Turkish dish, I was thoroughly impressed by the actually Turkish dishes, like liver cubes and kebabs.
