It looks stuffed, but honestly, it wasn't. I thought it was tasty but it lacked in protein. You get a big tortilla wrap stuffed with one scoop of the meats and everything else . Came with a side of white and red sauce, which I thought was pretty good as well.

First time trying this spot and it was just as delicious as their Harrison location! Ordered the chicken pita, with fries, a side of plantain, and a classic bottle of Coca-Cola. Wasn't able to eat it right away and it was still so "juicy" and yummy! Drizzled the white sauce on top...omg! The fries and plantain was good too! Food was very satisfying! The employees there were nice and greeted when you entered. Inside was also clean to dine in.

I was in the area and had a craving for a gyro so I search for places in the area and found juicy. It is in a small shopping center with plenty of parking. They are following mask requirements and socially distanced seating. There was a table outside to eat as well. If you aren't familiar with the difference between platters, wraps, pita, etc. check out the menu ahead of time. The cashier greeted us immediately and was very patient as we made our decision and easily answered all of our questions. I went with the Gyro pita and my daughter got the chicken pita with french fries. Our order was completed quickly and I was excited to get home to eat. Everything was super yummy, the meat was moist and well seasoned and beware that the hot sauce is really really hot AF. They want you so don't say you haven't warned. When I'm in the area again I will definitely be back!

Made a return trip for lunch on this Good Friday at Juicy! located at a shopping mall in Hackensack. The food is healthy with a Mediterranean genuinely flavor. The menu is mix and match: choose a base (platter, salad, pita, or wrap), a protein (or falafel ), add toppings, then add sides and sauce. I ordered the falafel platter which contained generous portion of falafel (deep fried balls or fritters made from ground chickpeas), sautéed onions, whole sliced pita bread, lettuce, and rice. Complimentary sauces of tahini and hot sauce were given to accompany the meal. The food is tasty and flavorful. The portion size is great and the employees are friendly. As a Yelper Elite, the establishment offers a complimentary drink. Definitely will be returning as this is now my favorite Halal spot.

This was my 1st visit to Juicy Platters but I have been to similar restaurants which were okay but not especially note worthy. I totally enjoyed my meal especially the spice level. I had the mixed platter adding tomatoes and spicy chick peas for a small additional charge. We shared a side order of fries and each had a fountain drink. We both added a healthy dose of white sauce to our meals and dug in. It was very filling and flavorful. I would have liked more drink options

After visiting a Juicy location for an Elite event last winter I decided to try the one in Hackensack last night as I was headed out to the breweries. A little food before eating makes for a safer night. This location is a little larger but didn't seem to have organized the counter as well. They didn't carry Bubly flavored seltzer water as the other location did, however I decided to just have a bottle of water. I ordered a pita with chicken and beef with all the fixins with a side of falafel bites. My wife ordered the plate with brown rice, a greens blast and falafel. This was one great meal. The food was absolutely delicious. The greens in my wife's plate were so perfectly done they mixed really well with the rice and the falafel. The beef and chicken in the pita was spicy and oh so good! The best part of this place are the prices, great freshly made food for a fair price. This place gives new meaning to fast food, it is truly outstanding. I only wish they would open a location closer to my home. After enjoying a good meal I was ready for the brewery.

It's like chipotle for Mediterranean food. You pick if you want a pita or a bowl which means your topping over rice. If you choose rice it's the basami(?) rice and the. You can pick beef or chicken or both and add tomatoes, lettuce, white sauce that is tangy, big olives... if you choose the pita is the same but They put its on top of a pita. The pita is what I had an it was messy. Good thing I ate it inside because i used a fork. If I would of tried to eat it like a burrito we would of had issues! Decent food. Your order and sit down and they call you to pick it up from the counter. $10 a person. I didn't like the rice though. It tasted curry-ish go

Finally got around to trying this place after hearing good things and it did not disappoint. Big bowl of food, tender meats, delicious white sauce...it rates up there with my favorite NYC halal cart. Will have to put it into my rotation. Ordered/paid online while I was in stop and shop for 10 minutes and it was ready for pickup when I was done!

My mixed platter, all dolled up and ready for me to eat!

Chicken was extremely fatty, and didn't like the texture. The salad was soaked in watery dressing. I wouldn't eat here again.

We had to ask twice for our rice we ordered for entrees to be brought out because our server forgot. Fine, that happens. But what really threw me off was when I questioned if the mold in my cheese was normal, the server assured me it was naturally occurring for the flavor. I felt gaslit because I have never had Parmesan with such questionable green growth on it for consumption in any restaurant in my entire life. The server said if it bothered me, he'd bring out fresh shavings with no mold. I have left pictures so you can be the judge of this. We got a table right away. The menu had a variety of dishes like appetizers, soups, gyro, kebabs, pasta, pizzas, seafood, wraps and sandwiches. In drinks section, they had the Turkish coffee and tea. We started with their complementary bread, so fluffy and light, we pretty ate the whole thing before any of our dishes came. I ordered my favorite fried liver cubes from the hot apps section, and it was fantastic. It was full of flavor, perfectly sized cubes and properly fried. Tasted so good with the complimentary bread (we requested a second one). For entree we ordered the Mix Grill and Karisik Izgara as it was a perfectly sharable dish for two and we got to try 5 of their kebabs that are lamb shish, ground lamb, chicken shish, ground chicken and grilled meat patties. Both ground kebabs were excellent, full of flavors. The shish and patties were also good. We got the margarita pizza too, but that one was disappointed, seemed like some sauce was just thrown on top of the cheese and wasn't baked long enough. Our server was really friendly. She always stayed on top of things. Our dishes came out in quick time, it was impressive. Despite the shortcoming of the pizza, which is not usually a Turkish dish, I was thoroughly impressed by the actually Turkish dishes, like liver cubes and kebabs. I'll for sure visit them again whenever I feel like having kebabs next time

Their menu features an array of traditional Mediterranean dishes, offering a variety of soups, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, meats from the grill, seafood cooked various ways, and entrees cooked from the oven. I decided on the Greek salad with grilled chicken. The food was authentic, fresh using the finest ingredients, delicious, and prepared simply, which is exactly what I was looking for. Day 1: Escape from NYC to Bear Mountain and Westchester County…read more Eatery 1 of 2 I had the good fortune to visit New York City and stay with a friend from grad school who lives on the Upper West Side. At times, I felt like I was imposing, but I was reassured that I wasn't. With having lodging in such a great location, I decided it would only be fair for me to take care of the meals and some sightseeing. As it happens, I got a bodacious deal on a rented econobox at La Guardia ... for a price that you would get in the sticks elsewhere. I've driven around the Tri-state area before and thought that this would facilitate seeing things beyond what the MTA pass allowed. In driving across the stately George Washington Bridge at around noon, I knew that we would be eating in New Jersey. One stop would be the village of Ridgefield Park, a place in which I've had immigrant relatives who bordered on sitcom material. The plan was to go to a popular cheesesteak place that I had bookmarked, but it was closed. I couldn't believe it. So I continued to drive down Main Street. I saw a Greek restaurant and something about it was familiar. It was that I had bookmarked it based on a Yelp friend's review. The eatery is named Sparta Taverna. It's an unassuming place inside a brick storefront. Once inside, it's comfortable and unpretentious. We sat about two-thirds of the way toward the back. The server introduced herself and was very accessible at all times. The menu at Sparta is quite vast. There are two pages, and then there is also a separate lunch menu with specials. At any rate, I ordered a chicken souvlaki platter that, in addition to the skewers, came with a Greek salad and the potatoes how I like them. My friend ordered a more traditional gyro as well as a small side salad. I really liked my meal, as all of its pieces tasted like they should have ... and I eat Greek food whenever the opportunity presents itself. What was on the platter vanished fairly quickly. My friend liked the gyro and the side salad, but then my friend isn't as emotive when it comes to giving a yay or nay to food. At the beginning of the meal, we were brought small pita triangles surrounding a dollop of hummus. I really appreciated that. The prices at Sparta are very fair. The variety offered is very good. Even though the desserts looked tempting, we skipped on them to move on with the day. As you move away from the restaurant and this small hamlet, you come to realize that you are very close to New York City, given that one is cautiously avoiding ramps that would put you on the tolled direction of the George Washington Bridge back to the city. We would be heading up the Palisades Parkway in New Jersey. On the way out, I stopped to take a few photos. I noticed that there were photos in which Guy Fieri gave Sparta Taverna his seal of approval. I almost didn't need to see that because I find Guy Fieri grating and that he veers toward being a big "cafone." But, then, I've ended up at eateries that have been on his show without knowing that in advance, so history is repeating itself. I could definitely eat here again and recommend it. That said, Sparta Taverna gets 4 high and solid stars.
