I ordered 1 lamb over rice & 1 lamb/chicken combo over rice. Received 1 lamb, 1 chicken. But i also didnt check my receipt so its my fault. Lol. I asked for extra sauces and was given plenty! Flavor on the meat and rice was good. Onions & cucumbers were fresh. I remember when the portions were bigger, however still a decent amount of food for $26. The Chicken Gyro was lacking a bit of meat but the Combo Gyro was loaded. Both were solid options, veggies were fresh and the sauces were excellent. It's no surprise then that Gyro King consistently gets my stamp of approval. I've been to their brick and mortar location in Webster several times, and their combo platter (chicken, lamb, and rice) at this truck tastes impressively similar. I actually prefer this one more because they offer 10% off if you pay with cash. Zelle and cash app are accepted too, though I'm not sure if they offer the discount with those options. My favorite thing about the Gyro King experience is that I never end up with dry tasting food. They always put enough white sauce to thoroughly mix everything up. Easy on the red sauce if you're spice intolerant (probably best to ask for 1 line max if so); for the rest of us, I felt that 2 lines were easily bearable. My regular order, the combo platter, is a delicious fan favorite as well as a relatively affordable option ($12.49+tax before cash discount). We sat at the counter for 10 mins before being helped because the poor guy is doing everything by himself. Then it took another 15 to get our food. I usually order from this location late night through Uber Eats. I think it is a truck compared to the brick and mortar nearby on Fannin. Portions are large for the price. They basically have two vegetarian options per dish, either the falafel or vegetable. Both are tasty. The vegetable one features broccoli and cauliflower in addition to falafel. They don't skimp on the sauces either compared to one of their competitors (AOH) in the area. This location is still a food truck but they've gotten a massive upgrade, and expanded their menu. Its located just across the street from the VA hospital, in a Chevron parking lot. There's always room to park, and personally I have never waited more than 10 minutes for food even when I went at a super busy time with a line of folks waiting. My favorite is the chicken over rice, but literally everything they have is pretty good. And its run by nice folks that care about their community.
