The employees were all super rude, including the manager. The food was mediocre at best. I will never be back.

Families aren't welcome here. We were told they no longer have high-chairs as of a few weeks ago.

I went to Gustavo's yesterday and it was the first time I had it, I was very disappointed in the food first I ordered the garlic rolls when they brought them out i don't know if it was the grease or butter they were sitting in but it wasn't nasty and bland. I also ordered a pizza and I have to tell you it was not good I didn't even eat the first slice of pizza I would never come back to Gustavo's it was the worst $45 I have ever spent. read more

Pizza was SO GOOD!!! I had the pizza salad lunch combo and got the Caesar salad with spicy dressing. SO DELICIOUS!!! My kids loved their pizza! Will definitely be going back. Oh yeah and my cocktail was off the chain good and perfect for the season!! read more

A tourist town lunch stop. I had the caprese BLT and side salad. 5 Star sandwich! The bread made the sandwich. Grilled bread with olive oil. Server Jillian was attentive and came by several times to check on us. There were 4 of us who all had sandwiches for lunch. Fast service. read more

I seriously don't know why this has such a low star rating. They were short staffed and could not take online orders so had to eat in house. My salad was delicious (house salad) and my kitchen sink pizza was DELICIOUS, thin crust perfectly cooked just enough sauce and the flavors of the sausages and pepperonis and veggies was perfect. Seriously the pizza was the bomb!!!! Not sure why they only have 3 stars. I strongly suggest the fried ziti bites for an appetizer (thank me later) and we had pizza with pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms and onions. Delicious! Service was welcoming and unobtrusive, prices were reasonable. read more

The pizza there was very good. I would definitely recommend the pizza. The garlic rolls weren't that good but I still liked them. And the food was undercooked and we had to send it back so they could finish cooking it. We sent it back a second time and it was still undercooked. At least our server was very nice. read more

I'm sure getting seated is a big issue in busy seasons. It was not a problem on a Saturday night at the end of February. Probably the liveliest place in town at this point. It's good to notice that this is a college town (19,000 students at all campuses) so it's not just the tourists (that are common all year with Atlanta's bored 7 million looking for something to do on a weekend). Pizzas are huge. The one with pesto was great, though not sure why they thought it needed to be chicken. And the chicken was a little tough for a pizza topping. So also the house salad, a sort of Greek or Italian with feta, black olives, etc. It was quite good and plenty of it. read more

Came in late and found food and service great. We sat at the bar and ordered the kitchen sink pizza with all the olives on one side. I took the bartender's recommended beer selection which paired very well with the pizza. I also ordered a side of the spicy marinara to dip the pie in. I'd recommend this place to anyone. read more

So it was a busy Saturday at about 1 pm and had a 45 minute wait for a table so decided to sit at the bar. Ordered a couple of beers and everything was going fine than I noticed something the Bar tender was doing with the glasses after people left. There was a triple sink that the bar tender dipped the glass in first and than quickly through the other two and let air dry for a few minutes. So this process doesn't remove lip stick and other things but luckily he did hold the glass up to the light to take a napkin to wipe the rim off. I know the first sink had some type of sanitizer in it but come on! Every bar I've gone to has a glass washing machine to truly sanitize the glasses. Service was great, even on Memorial Day weekend. The garlic rolls had good texture, but were uneven in size and a bit bland (nothing some table salt couldn't fix). The Vegetarian Pizza had a nice, crispy crust and was very large (could feed 3-4). Overall, an unassuming joint that fits the bill while out and about. read more

Ordered a salad and linguini and meatball for lunch. After 20 min. wait at lunch, the pasta comes out with no meatball. I asked the waiter, where's the meat (ball). Were out. Stopped in for dinner tonight 7:45. Told us we could not come in for dinner. I was amazed. We will not return.

We were really impressed! After going Christmas tree hunting on Sunday, we were looking for a family dinner place on the way through Dahlonega and saw Gustavo's. It's new - in a building on the square that, for all of my childhood, housed a huge antiques store - so I was curious to go in! It was a Sunday evening and the place was fairly quiet, although I could see it being crazy on a Friday or Saturday, crawling with college kids from NGCSU which is right across the street. It is decorated in pretty typical pizza bar fashion, football I some big screen tv's and there is a large bar in the center. My one complaint would be that, for all the tables, they had one individual bathroom, so getting a turn takes a while! They had an interesting selection of bottled beers and beers on draft. Much better than I was expecting! My husband had a frosty glass of Rare Vos, a rare treat straight from the tap! We devoured the Gouda waffle fries for an appetizer and the cheesy, bacon-y fries were really delicious with the tangy, spicy jalapeño sauce! There were just two sizes of pizza. An 8 inch from the kids menu - for a kid's size that is quite generous! - and the 16 inch large pizza. Because we were feeding three from the big one, getting a large didn't bother us, but I could see a small party finding that irritating, not having size options. I wonder, if you were eating alone- if you could get away with ordering the kids meal? We had the Noah's Ark pizza, the "all of the meats" option, and it was impressively good! Really one of the best pizzas I've had in a hundred mile radius! Flavorful meats, generously sprinkled, a great marinara and a very nice crust, thin, but not too thin with an actual flavor. It was a perfect, definitely not bland,base for the toppings. With many pizzas it's the crust that leaves me cold, but this one was yummy! The sausage and Italian meatballs were my fave toppings. Their texture and flavor were wonderful. Portions were good. Between the kid's pizza and the large, for two adults and two hungry kiddos, we left with two slices in a to-go box. I was thrilled to find them still in the fridge last night and ate them for dinner again. Three days later, still delicious! read more

Of all things culinary, I'd assume it would be difficult to really mess up with Italian. That doesn't meant to say it's easy to make it great, but honestly, these guys at Gustavo's have to be trying to make it as bad as it was. Let's start with a half empty restaurant, with several tables available, and a ten minute wait! I guess they were trying to decompress the kitchen on a Saturday evening. Ok, fast forward, now we are seated and my 48-year-old friend gets carded to order a beer. Really? So, beers ordered along with some cheese rolls, marinara and loaded fries. The loaded fries were a hit; that's about it. The cheese rolls were served in an aluminum pan and were stuck to the bottom. I ordered baked ziti with extra cheese and meatballs. Got neither, just plain baked ziti. Oh and yeah, it took almost 30-minutes for the food to be served after we had the appetizers. I was too frustrated to send it back. A couple of the guys had the veggie calzones, which were under-cooked and very doughy. Waitress was ok, but could not overcome the delays and poor quality of food. Cute little pizza spot on the square, and that's about it folks. The bartender staff was very accommodating to our 15 wedding party patrons who were swinging by for a cocktail before the rehearsal dinner. HOWEVER, the blonde ponytail manager was a total "Karen" and told us "you have sit down at the bar, get a table or leave". And then stated "all the tables are reserved". To which I enquired as to what the issue was and she did not like being questioned. So about 10 minutes later Gary Gauges, who looked like he just rolled out from under a mobile home at trailer town, popped out of the kitchen, puffed his chubby chest up and told us we all had to leave. Then grabbed the door handle like angry trick or treater on a full size Snickers and swung it open and gave the motion to "y'all get". So our party of 15 closed out our tabs, (which we spent about $300 in 45 minutes) and we hit the road. We had another restaurant rented out for the dinner, and needless to say they were not surprised by the ghetto Gustavo's experience. Leaving town.... We noticed this jewel on another local board. We ordered a margarita pizza and when it arrived it was a slab of cheese on a soggy crust. Our server (who was really very nice) explained that their margarita pizza has shredded mozzarella on top of the fresh mozzarella. She got us another one and it was made properly but the crust was still not good. The sauce was good but the crust had that overworked flour taste. We won't be back. read more

Pizza is just how I like it -- thicker crust. Many choices for toppings. Calzones and other Italian dishes are also available. Full bar with attentive servers. Great beer selection. Ridiculous Requested table for 2 they said 30min wait. 30min passed when I noticed people that arrived later than us were called I went to ask the status and they said I had first 2 people ahead of me then when I went again, They said 4 people ahead of us that we had to wait 30 min more. I requested to speak with a mgr and she was useless. Now I know why they only have 3 stars. Also, 1 bathroom for entire restaurant, Whole place did not seem clean, but what was most disturbing was to see and hear the manager (owner?) yell at his staff and curse at them behind the bar. It's been said a million times over, the food is mediocre at best and the service is awe full. I've been told by my friends who work there that their are leaks in the roof and management is racist. I've ordered a calzone and it came out half cooked, I asked them to toss it back in the oven (which the waitress did, ps she's the only reason I'm giving this restaurant two stars. Not sure why this place has only a 3 Star Average l because our experience yesterday was fantastic. The bar was nice and the restaurant is laid out well. It's right on the square in the historic downtown area and was a cool place to hangout. It had a few TVs with sports on but was not overwhelming. I go to sports bars to watch sports but I don't need to have a TV in my face all of the time. The food was very good and the bartender, Robert, was attentive but didn't wear us out. We are looking to spend more time in Dahlonega so this will be a regular stop. read more

Food is great. Service is hit or miss. We love coming to the area and this is one of our go to spots. However, during football season they will not change the channels on the TV and have them ALL on the same game. Even if it's at half time. And even if you've been there an hour watching a game with a big group. They will put/change them all to the managers choice.
