Went in to get my Iphone X screen repaired. The guy was very polite and welcoming. He saw my phone and asked if it was an original screen as it seemed pretty good quality. I said no, AT&T fixed it for me. He said his screens were just as good as well. I said great. He asked me if I wanted after market ($125) or original ($199). I said after market, thinking it would be the same quality as the AT&T screen that I currently had. The AT&T one, face ID did not work so I assumed it was considered the same quality as after market. Went back 20 minutes later, and received my phone with his new screen. Again he was very nice. When I got home, I saw that the color of the screen was discolored, and the resolution seemed lower to my eye (this is just personal to my eyes, some people might not even be able to tell the difference). There was no mention of the screen discoloring prior to the fix, so of course I was upset. If he had mentioned that his aftermarket screens, the color wouldn't be the same, or the aftermarket one would be different than the AT&T screen I have now, I would've thought about it more and asked more questions. Of course I wasn't expecting it to be the same quality as apple especially for $125, but I was expecting it to be the similar to the one I had prior or just a heads up about the difference. I was under the impression that this new one was going to have OLED screen, which apparently the AT&T screen had. When I gave him a call, he explained that the screen discoloring would be due to it being an LED screen and to give it time for my eyes to get adjusted. He did enable true tone for me, but it didn't seem much of a difference for me personally. He reinstalled my broken screen, and I received my refund. He is professional, just be sure to ask questions as there are different types of screens. read more

Quick, friendly and reliable service. Prices are very reasonable and cheaper than other places that I called in the area

Dealing with someone with common sense is a breath of fresh air. The technician was smart and polite

My 6s Plus was stuck in headphone mode due to a little water getting on it. I tried cleaning the headphone port with a q-tip but the q-tip broke off inside the port. Upon removing the broken piece, I realized that the port was no longer working. I was originally going to get a warranty replacement but T-Mobile informed me it will cost $175. I shopped around for a cheaper alternative and came across Guru Repairs. I requested a quote on here then brought my phone in the following day to have my headphone jack replaced. Michael replaced the headphone jack for less than half the cost of a warranty replacement and everything seems to be working perfectly so far. The whole process took about 45 minutes and it also came with a 90 day warranty. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs their electronics repaired. read more

Amazing quality work ! Mike fixed my mother's phone that had severe water damage . He is honest and extremely helpful , reasonably priced. I will never go anywhere else again. read more

Quick and straightforward. My iPhone 7 wasn't turning on and I decided to find someplace close. He immediately diagnosed the problem as being a bad battery and told me to pick it up in half an hour. The guy knew exactly what he was doing and even stated that there was a 6 month warranty in case something went wrong. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who doesn't want the run around and would also rather stay in Queens than go to the city for overpriced service. read more

I was recommended by a friend to go to Guru Repairs. I walked in, told him my iPhone problem and it was fixed within the hour at a fraction of the cost it would have been at Apple. HIGHLY recommend. I wish I knew about this place years ago. Mike was wonderful, pleasant and helpful. Great little Bayside secret that needed to be shared. read more

Had my screen replaced for my iPhone 11 Pro Max and screen stopped working! Cool, call Michael and tell him what had occurred and he send the screen back to the manufacturer since it's a design flaw and replaces my screen once again. Since then I have moved out of state and I have the same exact issue. Screen is unresponsive following the same errors that occurred the first time, call Michael once again and he says to get the screen fixed else where and to ship ship him the screen back wrapped as is so he could verify that it's in good condition and that it's a manufacturer error once again and he will return my money. Call him to verify he has received the screen in good condition even tho I left my number inside the shipment attached to the screen tho I still had to call him 2 weeks later and he says yes! All good I will make a return. This was 2 months ago! I have been calling repeatedly day in and day out for a return on what was promised, I have texted and left voicemails and nothing. read more

I believe the guys name is Mike but that doesn't matter. This guy is a genius and has fixed my computer 3 times, once with water damage. If you want specifics feel free to message me. I don't like reading lengthy reviews but all I'll say here is 5 stars isn't enough for the efficiency and timeliness. I've never been outraged by repair costs, I don't want my device to break but I'd go there in a second without missing a beat read more

i bought a used mac laptop online for college and it was working fine for me and started having some issues. i didn't have a lot of money or time to repair it, which is why i bought a used one. my boyfriend did me the greatest favor of bringing it here, and even though i couldn't make it, they repaired issues on the computer and installed Microsoft office which i am using right now for my class. the repair was more invasive than i thought it would be but was nearly not as much as i thought i was going to spend. i am so happy with the results, and they even gave us a 3 month warranty on their work! amazing! will definitely be bringing my electronics here and recommending to friends read more

Amazing quality service. I will never go anywhere else. Had my phone finished in less than 20 minutes for a screen repair with great prices.

I had an old broken iPad4 just lying around the house.Decided to get it fixed up for my nieces. The ipad randomly stopped working, so i put it in my car to take to a repair shop whenever I found myself near one. I randomly stopped in here while waiting on someone. He fixed my battery and cracked screen for a reasonable price and pretty quick. Would definitely recommend this place. Thank You! read more

Michael at Guru is a lifesaver. Not only did he see me through a disaster of a blown motherboard, he recovered my work and personal files when all honestly appeared lost. He had sound advice to give and was very fair as well as really capable. Infinite thanks. read more

cracked the lens on my iPhone 6 plus and went to T-Mobile and was told that I would have to pay 175 dollars?! I went here and it was 45 dollars. The guy was so nice and was really helpful. It was done quickly also! My mom's screen was cracked and he did that as well. It was all reasonably priced. Don't ever go to those shady kiosks in the mall for your phone issues again! :-) read more

really good place, I fix my screen, it just take 30mins, and really cheap. The screen is better than old one

Outstanding service. Very knowledgeable, courteous, pleasant and fast. Excellent work on my imac 27". He knows his stuff!

Michael runs his tiny shop like you wish all small (and large) businesses would. Honest advice, very reasonable pricing and accommodating speed of repair. Broken screens, dead iPhone batteries and other smartphone troubles are all repaired on the spot and without the hassle you'd expect to receive dealing with the big stores. read more

Would recommend this to everyone. Cracked my iPhone 6plus and it was reasonably priced compared to other places. Not to mention the women who works there is amazing. So kind and you can have a conversation with her while she's doing your phone. Definitely will be going back read more

Instead of filing another insurance claim on my phone, I brought over to Guru my Galaxy 6 Edge phone that was in perfect condition on the outside but had issues on the inside that made the phone not turn on. He explained what was going to be done to it physically to fix it as well as the pros and cons. I was given an estimate and also a brief explanation of the equipment he uses and his experience. Had a pleasant demeanor instead of trying to brush over my situation as just another customer with a broken phone. It was fixed, the issue was with the battery connector thing and the motherboard, and I have a 90 day store warranty to make sure it's not going to fail on me. Pricing was a bit higher than I expected but the overall experience and quality of work is what counts. Right? Highly Recommend! read more

My Samsung S8 was dead! Wouldn't boot up no matter what I did! I explained to Mike that I did all of the solutions I could find on the web(hold volume down & power button at the same time, volume up & Bixby & power.. ) NONE worked! In a few minutes he had diagnosed the problem. I went to eat & in about an hour he called, it's fixed! Put a new charge port & battery in it. The price? $85! I couldn't get anyone else to look at it for under $100! I'm bringing my kids phones over next week for cracked screens. I'll rate that experience also. read more

Awesome place to get your iPhone fix for a reasonable price and thank you for your serviced astonishing

Absolutely the best experience ever! A few weeks ago i had my screen repaired by someone near me and he messed up the installation. I came in to Guru repairs and being the true pro he is he spotted the problem and fixed it immediately. He even gave me quarters out of his own pocket so I wont get ticket! I have been having a rough week and Michael not only fixed my phone but restored my humanity that good people exist. Thank you for the amazing service!! I felt truly taken care of!! read more

So I thought my iPhone was cracked, so I walked into Guru Repairs to get it fixed. Turned out it was only my screen protector that was cracked (yes, I know, silly me for not checking beforehand), but the man who helped me (really nice guy by the way) explained how to see if the screen is really cracked and he put on a new protector for me. Totally made my day. Thank you Guru Repair Man! read more

Amazing experience. I contacted Michael through Yelp the night before. He replied to my email the next morning and I was able to go in that same day before work and get my phone fixed! My screen was shattered and he replaced the glass in 20 mins. He let me know what to expect and any potential problems that might arise. He was welcoming, informative, and knowledgeable; and his prices were great. My phone looks brand new, works just fine, and I saved a lot of money. This was a first great experience, I highly recommend! read more

First the guy told me a part would take 2 days to come in and the repair would take 30 min. The part took 5 days to come in and took 2 hours to repair. The screen also broke within a week from regular use without being dropped even once. He definitely got some fucking ebay piece of shit part instead of an official part, because the original screen I had lasted a year and a half without so much as a single scratch even after repeated drops. The guy said he wouldn't do anything about the broken screen and that it was my problem now. Overall extremely unsatisfied with the whole experience. I would rather try to repair my own phone then go back here. read more
