I honestly wasn't expecting some INSANE Gumbo experience when I came here but sadly I was still let down. I like the interior of the place and the service was pretty good it's just the food wasn't a hit at all. Tried a few things and some were ok and some were just not good. Ordered the Crab cakes and Jambalaya both were bad. The Crab cakes felt like those frozen crab cake patties you get from the grocery store and the Jambalaya wasn't even a rice dish, it was some form of soup. I've never in all my years seen Jambalaya as a soup. The Wings were pretty good and the Catfish wasn't terrible but nothing special. The actual Gumbo was decent but everything felt under seasoned which was the man problem. I don't think I would come back

Service was friendly. Ambiance was nice...but the food isn't what it used to be. Maybe now because it's a bigger venue? Or the cost of everything required cutting back on quality and quantity? ‍. I remember when this place was at the pink house - the shrimp po'boy was overflowing with blackened shrimp. Now, maybe 5 small shrimps in a full sandwich - a bite is mostly bread. The halibut po'boy (the nights special) was a thin sliver of a filet that was over cooked and dry. And the gumbo had a layer of grease on top. Seriously let down knowing how good this place was before and during the pandemic. I hoping it was an "off" night.

Best gumbo ever! This gumbo has tons of sausage and chicken and shrimp; they do not hold back on the meat. Husband had the red beans and rice and loved it too. We also ordered fried okra and the portion was HUGE. The downtown location is really pretty and spacious. Gustavo was our waiter and he was very sweet and professional. They also had the most delicious bread pudding. We can't wait to come back.

I walked by this restaurant and thought I'd give it a try. We were seated immediately. The waiter was friendly and attentive. Kitchen sink gumbo bowl ($15.99): the gumbo was tasty in flavor but it wasn't as hot (temperature wise) as I was anticipating when it came out. A good amount of seafood/meat. Good for sharing with 1 person. Crab cakes ($16.99) - The crab cakes were big in size but it wasn't amazing. Jalapeño corn bread ($2.49) - The corn bread wasn't spicy and complemented the gumbo; however, there wasn't anything soo special about it. Bread pudding ($9.99) - contains raisins and pears, sweet but not overwhelming..tasty but not a must try.

Trivia: What is the tasty green veggie (abelmoschus esculentus), with white seeds, in the gumbo, that looks like jalapeño slices? Great service! Friendly and helpful. Attentive without being overbearing. Beer available. Limited selection, but good variety. The Gumbo, Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice meal is a great introduction to the fare. It comes with French style bread that I ONLY ever get at places with Jambalaya or Gumbo. It's soft and tasty and delicious. The type of bread you just can't NOT eat. Ambiance: Awkwardly, the restaurant is huge but they only sat people in the front part. This was problematic for two reasons: 1. Close quarters to the tables with screaming kids. I am not a parent and I have the utmost respect for parents. Tough, TOUGH job. 2. The draft. The door that says, "Go to the next one" was slightly cracked bringing an unpleasant and cold draft through the front of the restaurant. I know it is hard to appease everyone. Some like it hot, some like it cold, some like (fill in the blank). I guess I wish a hostess would ask, "Would prefer a breeze of chilly air or a pleasantly warm and toasty atmosphere?" Notables: Don't feel like you have to eat all the meal. They will bring separate containers and a bag for you to carry them in. Cleanliness: bathrooms were well stocked and clean. Final thoughts: filling and tasty food with an atmosphere that will certainly improve when the place fills up with conversations and laughter.

Food was good, staff was friendly, and ambience was nice. We went right at opening so had the place to ourselves. Jalapeño cornbread was my favorite. PoBoy bread was super soft and had a good ratio of sauce.

Great food with a family friendly atmosphere. Service was excellent and didn't have a wait at rush hour.

Menu varies but always great portions and Delicious food. Owner is friendly and personable. Will make a point to stop when I see the truck.or I will look on Facebook to find it. Some of the best food I have seen on a food truck in Anchorage.

I'm honestly surprised no one has reviewed this food truck yet! My boyfriend and I have been here…read moremore times than I can count, and will continue to go here. You can find this food truck by checking their social media--they're on Facebook and IG. Unlike many restaurants and food trucks in Anchorage K's Kitchen is serving food past 9pm and into the wee hours of the night! The owner is super friendly, and remembers my boyfriend and I whenever we pull up to order. She has an array of burgers, wraps, wings, and salads to choose from. My personal favorite is the chicken caesar salad--it is the BOMB; chicken is blackened and the caesar dressing is homemade. She also just added a southwest chicken salad which I'll be adding to the rotation. My boyfriend will usually get a wrap or burger if he doesn't choose the daily special. Highly recommend you trying out the cajun fries, so delicious! Also, if she has any dessert available, you'll want to order that too--her desserts aren't permanent menu items so if you see something you like, don't hesitate cause it will most likely be gone! In the past she's made lemon bars, oreo brownies, and so many more that I can't think of. Prices are reasonable too--we get a meal for two for under $30. Portion sizes are large and I never walk away feeling hungry, even when it's a salad. Overall, you need to try this place out! Good food from good people.
