I found their employees as a whole to be extremely rude. I commented a couple of times that they were being rude and they only became ruder. I make my living as an artist and several times a young lady followed me around the store watching me. I told her I didn't need her help and she said it is a store policy. I told her to please stop it. Then a man from the paint department came over and did the same thing. RUDE!!!!!! I told her and him that I am not there to steal things. They only became ruder. Guiry's has an incredible selection of high end art supplies and designer paint. I loved shopping there, and we were customers for 11 years, painting the interior and exterior of two 4,000-5,000 sq ft homes during that period, plus countless art supplies. I'm a professional artist, mom of two artsy kids, and teach classes in the summer, wherein I provide the upscale supplies for everything from oils to watercolors to alcohol markers to acrylics to calligraphy to pastels--you name it, we've bought the premium supplies to create it. Most of that has been purchased from Guiry's, despite the fact that the cost is about 20% more than at bigger art retailers. I liked feeling like I was supporting a smaller neighborhood store, and it's been within walking distance to both of our homes over the years. Recently, I had an experience that will be the last time I patronize Guiry's (outside of once to return what I bought the other night, and maybe the occasional "emergency" when I don't have time for Michaels). I had a collection of unopened art supplies that myself and my family had gotten my son for Christmas (purchased within a few weeks before Christmas). When we cleaned up the studio, we found that we had multiple duplicates of about a dozen things, so I went in with them to exchange them for similar items in alternate colors. Hannah at the front desk was amazingly kind and helpful, and gave great advice on what products she likes and would choose. When I went to the counter to complete the exchange, the store was less than 15 minutes from closing, but it should have been quick, and Hannah had assured me she didn't mind. I didn't have my receipt with me. We do have a "pro account" there, so I figured they could look them up by name, and we were only doing an even exchange of unopened items that are still on the shelves anyway. She called over a young male manager from the paint desk to help her out. This is where it got dicey. He came over and began trying to search each item by barcode to find my name attached to the purchase to check the date. It was time consuming, and none of them were popping up associated with my name. He told me he could not exchange anything unless it had both my name associated to it and was within the last month. I gave the dates, and multiple items showed bought 12/23, but tied to a different name. I assumed it was likely an error, but I was told I couldn't exchange any of my things bc the name wasn't mine, and he told me I was probably trying to return things I'd gotten at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. They don't carry the things I was exchanging--I know because I went to both the next day and checked. It was lengthy, kept us all late, and was pointless. I was flustered, frustrated, and embarrassed, and paid cash for what I had picked out. I left, still shocked that a simple exchange of currently stocked, brand new items, purchased by a loyal buyer was being refused. I asked at the end if the new supplies had been entered under my name in case I had to return them. They had not even entered my number in for the purchase, despite asking 4 times. No wonder they didn't have a record of my prior purchase. I was told that they often don't for art supplies. Meaning it was an exercise in futility to look each one up, and only served to inconvenience and blame. I spent hundreds MORE dollars, still had a bunch of supplies that I already had in multiples (ALL of the iterations being from Guiry's over the years), AND, to cap it all off, I found that the guy had literally RE-CHARGED ME for some of the items I had brought in, that he himself had looked up in the computer. I was frustrated to tears--still feel taken advantage of. I won't be shopping at Guiry's again. Amazon has it all, allows returns for cash for 30-90 days (depending on product), keeps track of your purchases for you, and stands behind products (even used ones, crazily). They even send UPS to pick up. When I can't wait, I'll go to Michaels. If Guiry's wants to charge that kind of markup, then I can support that as a member of their community who supports smaller businesses. But to do so, they need to provide stellar customer service, and the store as a whole very much does not. Instead they accuse you of lying, refuse to even exchange new product for a different color of the same, don't enter your info after getting it, and scam you for a second payment on each item. I still live right behind them, and Guiry's will lose thousands in future business over maybe $120 in even exchanges on a few tubes of paint and 6 jars of unopened powdered pigment. Thanks for nothing, Guiry's. P.s. No offense, Hannah. You were lovely, and I hope you're treated well there, because I know any company would be lucky to have an expert employee like you to guide their customers. If they're not, walk away. I was having paint matched. A small amount in the highest quality exterior paint they had. The parking lot was nearly empty, and so was the store. In fact I didn't see another customer. So I went back to the paint department to have a sample matched. The younger employee who served me took my information and I was told it would be about 30 minutes. So I went back out to my car and waited. I waited for 30 minutes, and then another 10 before becoming irritated. I think one other car was next to me during that time, so I couldn't imagine that the store was suddenly busy. 50 minutes went by and I decided to go home for another sample as I had given up on the employees taking my business seriously. I'll iterate this. It's not my job to check on the status of the paint, or the progress. I'm not paid for that. The employees are. I was no where nearly as lazy as that employee when I was his age, nor did I act as stupid, and uncaring. I was at The Home Depot when an hour and a half later and my paint matching was nearly completed by then. I was contacted by the employee at Guiry's who really stupidly and incincerely apologised for the wait. I told him that he could keep the paint and do whatever he wanted with it (in a calm voice). He asked "So, does that mean you don't want the paint anymore?" I thought just about anyone would infer that from the previous statement, so I had to make it really simple and stupid to match is brain. "No, I no longer want the paint." Then a response of "Oh, umm ok." I don't know how this store stays open. Maybe the owner of the chain is wealthy, or the other locations are making enough to supplement this store's lack of income/business. I don't really love the idea of supporting big box chains like the Home Depot, but I can see why local stores are going out of business. Customer service seems to be non existant in some of the small stores such as Guiry's. read more

We recently purchased a home in the Parker area and noticed that all of the paints were from Guiry's. This being said we wanted to dispose of a couple as well as shake and get a couple of fresh new quarts to have on hand for touch up around the home. We had never been to Guiry's but had heard good things. Unfortunately the experience did not match up with what we had heard. We did dispose of the paint but the paint "staff" were nothing short of rude to the point I did not even bother asking them to match and give us a couple of new quarts. After I tried to be friendly and asked some simple questions, it was painfully obvious that I was evidently annoying them and interrupting whatever it was they were doing that was far more important than a paying customer. So needless to say I will go to another paint store for my painting needs as I don't ever plan on setting foot in a Guiry's again based upon my first and last experience with them. read more

Great service and awesome paints. I like the small sized Ben Moore samples. They always give good painting advice.

They carry art supplies, which make me happy. The lady following me around while I shop makes me sad. The art supplies prices are on the high side, but not out of line. If you need something, and need it quickly they will have it or a decent substitute. It's not my go to place. Over the years I have gone to the Parker's Guiry's. Its always been an easy place to shop but this week after back to back easy transactions I figured it was time to write a review. I went there first with my wife to look at and select some colors for our bathroom. After a front row parking spot we looked through some colors and grabbed 4 or 5 chips. Right behind the chips is a rack of sample color bottles so we picked up our favorite there as well. No one in line and we paid and left. A few days later, after seeing the paint in different lights, I went back to get the paint. I discussed it with Jeremiah and he had a few questions for me about the project and then offered some recommendations. I selected the paint and it was mixed and paid for in 5 minutes. My new favorite art supply here in Colorado. We travel the country selling my art at Renaissance Festivals. Downtown Denver was the only place I knew that had professional art supplies....and places like hobby lobby and Michaels only carry a very small selection of professional products. Guiry's has Daniel Smith, Golden, Arches and more! Couldn't be happier! Everyone was friendly and helpful! Will for sure be back! Staff here are always friendly and helpful. Convenient location and usually has what I need in stock. If they don't they will find it at another location and can order it for you. They offer coupons if you sign up for emails which is nice because art supply items are pricey. Employees are usually pretty knowledgeable and can offer advice regarding products they've used themselves. read more

Wendy was the only reason my experience was somewhat enjoyable today. This review should not apply to her. The paint staff, however, was beyond horrible (Jeremiah and a blonde man). I first went in and asked for help choosing a paint for my project since I am a beginner and know there are many different types. I think they thought I was asking for color recommendations, which I was not. Very rude and unhelpful. I found Wendy, who said the paint guys could help me with my questions. When I told her they didn't want to help, she walked me through everything. Finally I went back to the paint guys to order and check out. It was as if I was burdening them to do their job. They made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome with their attitude. I still have no idea if I actually got the right paint for my project but I just wanted to get out as soon as possible. I came here on a recommendation for the high quality paint. I'd rather have worse paint than do that again. read more

Yes, you can pay less for paint, but cheap paint is the reason everyone hates painting, do yourself a favor, buy the good stuff. This is a great store. read more

In doing household projects my first thought is to go to Home Depot or Lowe's. Recently my husband and I decided to do a project of placing a textured paintable wallpaper as a temporary backsplash in our kitchen before we do a large remodel a few years away. Because the big box stores did not have what we were looking for we typed into Google paintable wallpaper and our ZIP code and guirys came up. We stopped in one afternoon and we're a bit overwhelmed at all of the options. I loved that we could just spread out on one of their huge tables and pull as many books down as we wanted to look at. The wallpaper that we ordered ended up being on backorder but Diane called us immediately to let us know. Once we receive the wallpaper we went to the big box stores to purchase the wallpaper glue and the supplies we need it. I should let you know that neither my husband or myself have ever touched wallpaper before. We started our Saturday morning excited for our daily project. We read the directions, we watched videos online and we felt like we were ready to take on a project we mapped out where our first piece would go follow the directions on how to apply the glue and attempted to place it on the wall. After about 45 minutes major frustration was kicking in this wallpaper simply was not sticking to the wall. I called guirys and again spoke with Diane and she contacted their wallpaper Guy Tom and immediately called us back with his tips and his phone number. I called Tom and after finding out that we had purchased the wrong adhesive and that we had to prep the walls due to the texture on them we decided to just go ahead and ask Tom if we could hire him to do the job for us. I'm pleased to say that he was able to fit Us in his schedule within 3 days. He was the most professional, kind and helpful person I have ever had in my home for work. I will now look to Guirys first for my future home projects. read more

I went to Guiry's for Benjamin Moore paint. They have a good selection (the only reason I gave 2 stars), but bad service. They refused to mix an additive into my paint for me, after telling me they sold me the wrong type of paint for the project I was doing. They did nothing to solve the problem I was having with the paint that they recommended. I will not return. read more

The customer service in Parker is terrible. I had two employees who knew i was waiting (and I am a patient, polite waiter) ignore me and keep looking down at something they were doing. After I waited twice as long as most people would w/o acknowledgement, I went ahead & asked. All I got was a No. Not even eye contact. I'm done shopping here. I won't be back. read more

This place has a great selection of paint and art supplies but beware of false advertising for sale items. I went in because they are supposedly having 40% off their golden hard body paints. The prices are exactly the same as always. They just changed the signs above the paints. Beware. You are not getting any better deal than usual. This is false advertising. read more
