So we waited (crickets) and called back and he said the fan motor would come in by Monday (this was Wednesday) (again crickets). Called again....again...and again..... Soooo we called Circle N Appliance and they were here that day, looked at the refrigerator, plugged it in, didn't see anything wrong with it. He said he thought that maybe the motor froze because food was covering the fan (admittedly it was, duh on our par). So he put the refrigerator back together and didn't charge us a penny. Guess where we're buying our next appliance...

We were interested in comparing GE Profile and Monogram, Kitchenaid and a few whirlpool products. I called several showrooms and box appliance stores (Lowes, Sears, Best Buy etc) in the area to see what was on their showroom floor. Long story short we ended up going to Fergusons. When I called the Fergusons store the receptionist on the other end transferred me quickly to someone who knew exactly what products they carried and what products were on displace. This was very helpful. Several of the other stores I called put me on hold 5+ minutes and then they didn't even know what products they had on display. Once we got to the Fergusons store we were introduced to Blane Northcutt. He was outstanding. We told him up front that we just wanted to look, since we lived in Atlanta we wouldn't be buying in TX, so we understood if he wanted to help someone else (since he wouldn't be making any commission off us). He politely said that there were plenty of reps in the store to help out the other folks and he would be glad to help us with our questions. He was able to advice us on different products and even had some of the model numbers memorized. He clearly had done his research and was able to discuss issues that certain products had in the past and current problems with certain appliances. He spend over an hour with us discussing products and helping up jot down model numbers etc and offered his card for us to call him with further questions. It wasn't until we left the store that we realized they were closed; we had kept him 20 minutes past closing time. We would definitely recommend Blane to anyone who is tired of researching on line and reading review after review and who wants to talk to someone who is knowledgeable. In addition, the showroom floor is well stocked.

Unlike Best Buy, Lowes or Home Depot, the receipts are an arcane dot-matrix 3-part form, (impossible to read) and there is no delivery or installation. Called back and the manager answered again and instead of recognizing the need for the safety device, he was dismissive, and codesigning. The manager brought the anti tip bracket and was rude about it. I buy local when I can but will never buy from them again.

A bad wind storm we had knocked out our power and was flickering off and on. I didn't know it…read morewould destroy my oven but it did. The range top kept working but I couldn't use the oven at all. I kept getting an error code. I called Direct Appliance after a couple other places refused to even come out where I live, about half the distance to the Boys Ranch. I talked to Bryan and he came out to check my range and said a part was fried and he would need to order the part and it would take about a week to get it and then install it. He gave me the price, I gave him half the cost so he could order the part after making sure he could get the part. My electric range is a smooth top and at least 17 years old and was new when we got our home. A week later he came out to install the new part and now my ranges' oven is working like new again. Getting it repaired was much cheaper than buying a new stove. Bryan was very nice, worked clean, had reasonable pricing for his work and most of all trustworthy. If you have an appliance problem and live outside of Amarillo like I do in Valle De Oro he will travel out here. Direct Appliance will be my go-to service when I need work done next time, be it washer, dryer, frig or stove.
