We were in the process of building a home in Atlanta, GA and needed to make decisions about our…read morekitchen appliances during the week of the fourth of July, which happened to be the week we were visiting my in laws in Canyon, TX. We were interested in comparing GE Profile and Monogram, Kitchenaid and a few whirlpool products. I called several showrooms and box appliance stores (Lowes, Sears, Best Buy etc) in the area to see what was on their showroom floor. Long story short we ended up going to Fergusons. When I called the Fergusons store the receptionist on the other end transferred me quickly to someone who knew exactly what products they carried and what products were on displace. This was very helpful. Several of the other stores I called put me on hold 5+ minutes and then they didn't even know what products they had on display. Once we got to the Fergusons store we were introduced to Blane Northcutt. He was outstanding. We told him up front that we just wanted to look, since we lived in Atlanta we wouldn't be buying in TX, so we understood if he wanted to help someone else (since he wouldn't be making any commission off us). He politely said that there were plenty of reps in the store to help out the other folks and he would be glad to help us with our questions. He was able to advice us on different products and even had some of the model numbers memorized. He clearly had done his research and was able to discuss issues that certain products had in the past and current problems with certain appliances. He spend over an hour with us discussing products and helping up jot down model numbers etc and offered his card for us to call him with further questions. It wasn't until we left the store that we realized they were closed; we had kept him 20 minutes past closing time. We would definitely recommend Blane to anyone who is tired of researching on line and reading review after review and who wants to talk to someone who is knowledgeable. In addition, the showroom floor is well stocked.

This is the only premier home kitchen, bath & lighting gallery in Amarillo - if you are looking for…read moresomething beyond the local hardware or electronics store, this is the place. The kitchen appliances, bathtubs, toilets, bidets, sinks, and lighting fixtures are beautiful, somewhat exotic and on the high end of the price scale. It is the only place in Amarillo that carries Miele appliances, for example. It is great that you can see and touch these high-end brands. Unlike Best Buy, Lowes or Home Depot, the receipts are an arcane dot-matrix 3-part form, (impossible to read) and there is no delivery or installation. The expectation is that you already have a contractor to do pickup and installation.

This is my must-stop whenever we're in Amarillo. From turkey brine to carpets that look like a…read moresleeping Yeti, you just never know what you might find in here. Actually you do know, because for the most part their stock remains steadfast. It's just that there's so much of it you'll see something new every time you visit. There's a huge variety of inexpensive glassware and tableware to choose from, along with all the things to make your dinner setting special like chargers, placemats, cloth napkins of all kinds, artificial flowers and a million kinds of containers to display them in. There's a nice sized assortment of wines and beers from all over, and if you just want to try one or two different beers, they're happy to let you buy by the bottle, or build your own six-pack. Beside the wine and beer are the food aisles, ranging from Eastern European, Indian, Italian, Korean, Japanese, and more. Our Czech exchange student was so excited to see familiar candies and chocolates when we took her; helped with the homesick cravings a lot to be able to pick her up the occasional Kinder chocolates. If you're a Torani syrup fan like I am, they have it stacked floor to ceiling on the back wall, in all flavors and many in sugar free as well. They've also got a million kinds of teas, from Earl Grey to flowering to weight loss. There's also a nice selection of inexpensive furniture, rugs, window treatments, and bath specialties available, as well as some lovely scarfs and clothing and jewelry. And candles. And... oh just go already!

I buzzed in here at the last minute after getting a referral from a girl at Natural Grocers that this store had some glasses with tea infusers built in. The clerks were very nice and helped me find the right section after I wandered around the tea and coffee area and didn't spot them. They were over with other household items rather than in the food section. They showed me at least three if not four different kinds. I saw one that was very interesting and only $10 but the online reviews were mixed on it so I hesitated. I might go back for it, I'm not sure. I forgot how fun it was to walk around the World Market and look at all their interesting items. I will have to go back there when I have more time to meander around and look. I did buy a package of Scottish shortbread cookies, something that is mostly a yearly treat because I don't need the calories but I do enjoy the flavor and texture of these delicacies.
