I'm updating a review I wrote one week ago. I was left unsatisfied by an expensive service call…read morewith a temporary fix on my tankless water heater. This past Monday, Scottco called my husband to discuss the problem. He explained the issue. The sweet lady in the office to him she understand and would get back with him. Long story short, this problem is fixed permanently. I can't thank the folks in the office enough. They followed through and satisfied us!

Hi there, I wanted…read moreto warn others regarding my recent experience with Scottco. I must say that I was quite disappointed with the situation that unfolded. As a proud Texan who has served and worn my uniform proudly, I value honesty and fairness above all else. When I booked their services, I had no idea that they were over an hour away. When we did a google search for Hereford this company showed up as if they were local. We had a overpowering sewer stench in the building only that added to our sense of urgency. In my desperation to take care of my employees, I unknowingly booked Scottco while my wife had already booked another company. As a small company with only two employees, the $420 trip charge was quite devastating for us. I believe in compensating others for their time and would never want to take advantage of anyone. I understand that mistakes happen, and I am willing to pay a fair amount for the services rendered. However, I was taken aback when I was told that the original charge was almost $600 as if I needed to be happy with the current. I believe in dealing with companies that operate with integrity and put their heart into their operations. I own up to my mistake and am willing to pay what is fair. I always strive to take care of my fellow man and would never want to feel like I'm taking advantage of someone's error. I believe in fair and honest dealings.

He came back after a short while with the parts that he replaced. Basically he dug to remove the old box encasing the broken gate valve and replaced the old box with a new larger one and replaced the gate valve with a new ball valve. He had with him his assistant Alex whom he closely instructed and supervised at any steps. After he completed the job he performed at no additional charge a leak assessment and it was determined that the cause of the increase in my water bill was caused by a defective water stop in one of my toilets. He replaced the water stop and repeated the leak test. It was reconfirmed that that was indeed the cause. We will keep monitoring the water meter for a few more days just to make sure. However as far as today's visit I am quite satisfied. Not only he was punctual, knowledgeable, and professional, but also he has a friendly personality that makes it easy to work with. His price was also reasonable and in line with our quotes we received from Yelp. He will be from now on our plumber of choice. I include before and after pictures of the shut off valve replaced.

Ok, so this was the appliance service we called first to repair our refrigerator. The gentleman was…read morevery pleasant and was here the next day as promised. He took our refrigerator apart and determined that our fan motor was out and he needed to order one and would let us know when it was in to reschedule a time to install it. So we waited for a return call (crickets) ... and waited .... (Crickets). So my husband called him back again after the second week. He said the fan motor would be in Monday and he'd call and set up a time to repair it. Again (crickets)....we waited (crickets)....and waited (crickets). We tried calling numerous times with no response so called Circle N Appliance and they were in and out in a day. (You know where I'm going with this, right? Skip A-1 Appliance and go straight to the Cs for Circle N Appliance.) I gave A-1 Appliance 2 stars because he showed up on time and he didn't charge us anything but left our refrigerator in pieces. Why he didn't just tell us he couldn't fix it is beyond me. I mean, we wouldn't have been upset and we would have had our refrigerator up and running much sooner. ‍

We called others that refused to give us an estimate over the phone. After a couple of hours with no call back, we called our HVAC company to see if they did water heaters. They said no but recommended Pratt Plumbing. My wife called and was told about what it might cost. She asked them if they could do it that day. They showed up and looked it over and asked if she wanted it done. Of course we did, and it turned out that he even brought the right size with him just in case. He was fast and very professional. Everything was installed, checked, and explained. Cost was right on the estimate. We found our new plumber. It's been four days and still no call back from our other plumber. We highly recommend Pratt Plumbing.

I cannot thank Larry's Heating and Air enough. My heater was not working during the first cold…read morespell of the year. It would come on but then it would shut off after a few seconds. My husband was out of town. Originally I had called another business and I was told I needed a new heating/AC system which would cost around $6,000. They said the furnace had a cracked heat exchanger that was leaking carbon monoxide and could be deadly. Another option I was given was to spend $1,000 for a few repairs but that would only buy me another year then I would need to replace the system. The price of this false information was $69. I called Larry's for a quote for a new system. They showed up on time and just went to my furnace and took the front of it off and began checking it over. He sprayed some pressurized air inside and then turned the heater back on. Voila! It was working perfectly again. The only thing that was wrong with it was a dirty heat sensor. He said that the heat sensor is a safety mechanism to turn off the heater if it doesn't sense the fire. Since mine was dirty it wasn't sensing the heat and therefore just shutting off the furnace after a few seconds. He explained to me that when the heat exchanger is cracked the fire will be shooting backwards at me-it wasn't. I really appreciate that he took the time to educate me, a woman who didn't know any better, on what to look for so I wouldn't be conned again. They did not charge me a dime either! After Larry's fixed my heater I asked my father-in-law who is HVAC certified to come check it out and he verified what I was told by Larry's. This is definitely an honest company. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
