Hi there, I wanted to warn others regarding my recent experience with Scottco. I must say that I was quite disappointed with the situation that unfolded. As a proud Texan who has served and worn my uniform proudly, I value honesty and fairness above all else. When I booked their services, I had no idea that they were over an hour away. When we did a google search for Hereford this company showed up as if they were local. We had a overpowering sewer stench in the building only that added to our sense of urgency. In my desperation to take care of my employees, I unknowingly booked Scottco while my wife had already booked another company. As a small company with only two employees, the $420 trip charge was quite devastating for us. I believe in compensating others for their time and would never want to take advantage of anyone. I understand that mistakes happen, and I am willing to pay a fair amount for the services rendered. However, I was taken aback when I was told that the original charge was almost $600 as if I needed to be happy with the current. I believe in dealing with companies that operate with integrity and put their heart into their operations. I own up to my mistake and am willing to pay what is fair. I always strive to take care of my fellow man and would never want to feel like I'm taking advantage of someone's error. I believe in fair and honest dealings. read more

If you have hundreds of dollars to throw away, then call Scottco. I was told that I would be charged mileage, but then when I questioned the bill, I was told that I was charged for time also. I've never, seen a repair person move so slow, until the person that showed up to service my, air conditioning unit. After, I spoke to his manager, I realize why he moved so slow. Scottco, must pay their employees, by how much they can milk, out of the customers. So, with inflation going out the roof, and if you have extra you want to throw away, then by all mean's call Scottco. For those of us on a fixed income, my best, recommendation is to call anyone, but Scottco. This recommendation, is for my fellow brother and sister veterans and anyone on a fixed income. read more

Set up appointment was told could be here sometime around 2 'o'clock around 3 o'clock called and was assured they would be here still no show no courtesy call. After two more calls to the office and was assured they would be here we gave up around 7 'clock . Boo! read more

We used them to replace a chandelier on a 30 foot ceiling. Matt worked all day building scaffolding after their scissor lift wouldn't fit through the door. Quality work and solid work ethic replacing it. Would use again. read more

I thought Scottco was a good company to work with when I first moved to Amarillo but I've since decided they are not. I found out today they had removed me from their club without letting me know. When I called for service they said they had to refer me to the Accounting department about my account but didn't give me clear information about what it was about. I don't owe them money. Their service director Marty was very rude to me and talked down to me when I had a dispute about a sewer installation bill. Overall, I would advise staying away from them. Their management does not have good practices if they treat customers the way they treated me. read more

AC went out on Father's Day afternoon. Called Scottco Monday morning. Manolo came out that morning. He was courteous and knowledgeable. He had the problem diagnosed quickly. Bad capacitor. Removed and replaced on the spot. We are up and running again. Cost was 500.00. But we paid for his experience and knowledge so well worth it when it's something I could do myself. WORD OF WARNING - DO NOT USE SCOTTCO. Today Scottco came out because my air conditioner wasn't blowing cold air. The technician said I was going to need a new unit, with a price of $8,500. I called Texas Air to get a second opinion and they came out 2 hours later and looked at the unit and the problem - a blown fuse (cost under $180). I believe Scottco tried to take advantage of me because I am a woman and really have no expertise in the field. PLEASE DO NOT use Scottco, as they are a super shady business trying to take advantage of their customers, especially women! read more

My parents had to have their sewer line replaced. They are older and I was disappointed they didn't get more than one quote. $19K later their yard is destroyed and they have huge piles of dirt all over it that they were told should settle in a few years. I live in Colorado and had this same work done to my house. When they left they reconditioned the holes and I was able to re-sod. After seeing the aftermath of Scottco I feel like they took advantage of a couple of Seniors because they didn't want to do the job right. read more

I wasn't a customer of Scottco, but my neighbor was. They had a massive plumbing problem that required tractors and a lot of digging! A portion of my yard was damaged, not through negligence but because of the massive amount of work required. After the job was completed, I contacted Scottco about the damage. I gave them measurements and exact prices for the items that would be required to restore the area. They sent me a check to cover the cost of the repairs. I had 3 different companies come and look at my air conditioner and NOBODY could figure out what was going on. I got charged unnecessarily until Scottco came out! They were prompt, very friendly, and super knowledgeable. They fixed my problem first try and I couldn't be happier with their service. I will definitely be using Scottco in our home. Please read whole review and update. I have always been a big fan of Scottco but today they lost my loyalty. They came out for spring inspection and when he went to flush my hot water heater he popped the T/P valve and it wouldn't close. (Not leaking before they came) understand it needed to be replaced. Fine but then he quoted me $311.52. I almost passed out. It is a $15.00 part and took 15 minutes including my trip to Lowes to buy parts. That is just outrageous. Update: After this morning. I had a call from Rich Rankin who is a supervisor. He came out he explained the technician made a mistake in quoting me. Rich apologized and made things right. Thank you Scottco! read more

My mother had an AC issue today and we called ScottCo! From the time we called ScottCo to the completed repair was 59 minutes! A new demand fan motor was installed and the house went from 85 to a cool 72 in no time! Will the technician was professional and fast! The cost of the repair was very reasonable as well! I called Scottco after another local and well known plumbing company left me in mess . This other company came to my rental home to snake a clogged kitchen sink and within about 24 hours of supposedly clearing it, my basement and garage flooded. This other company refused to take responsibility and without even attempting a thorough investigation of the problem declared that it was unrelated and had no interest in fixing it. That's when I called Scottco. Just with the very first lady I spoke with ( I think her name was McKinzey) I knew this was going to be a better experience. She sent Juan Lopez to my rental home where I explained that I had taken the day off work and really needed to get everything lined out with this disaster if at all possible. Juan was very professional and just an all-around nice guy. After some very labor intensive investigating he discovered the problem, a big hole in the pipe that was snaked just 2 days before. Not only did Juan fix the leak, he went a few steps further and made a few modifications to prevent future issues. After everything was replaced he ran water in the sink to discover that the other company had never even cleared the clog! Even though he had been there all day, he never tried to put any of the work off or cut corners. He spent the additional time to clear the clog and do another once-over to be sure everything was working properly. All of the options and pricing were discussed up front and when he told me about their "Super Service Club" I signed up without hesitation. UPDATE: Scottco is correct. They have contacted the landlord and corrected the mistakes. We appreciate them working to make the situation right. Greg was extremely gracious and kind as he fixed the plumbing. Thank you Marcus for working with us on the situation. The ONLY reason Scottco received one star is because it won't allow me to write a review with zero stars. We have an older single female friend that got charged over double for a simple plumbing job by Scottco. And they destroyed her grass with an mini excavator by literally turning it around in the yard because they had to dig down "3 feet" as the repairman told me. They used it so they could charge more. I got involved and it took them 3 trips to get it done right. This is over a period of 4 days. And she has subscribed to their "VIP customer" program that she pays $17.99 a month for the last 10 years so they come when you call. She called Monday morning, they showed up on Tuesday. I requested a supervisor meet me today so he could see the work. He had an attitude from the beginning and absolutely NO people skills. No apology or discount and simply said, and I quote "we charge more because we are a large company." His name is Rod. They take full advantage of older single females in my opinion. My plumber cut a hole in my foundation and repaired a similar situation for the same amount!! If you need a good plumber please call Lord and Sons plumbing. Give Chris Lord a call at 806-290-0122. They came out to do a test. Said there was a leak, did not isolate or locate the leak. Said it would be 400 to locate plus repair fees! Crappy crappy crappy! Now 2 senior ladies are left with out gas to cook or any hot water! read more

Our kitchen sink was not draining and we called Scottco at 10:00 a.m. and Anthony was here by 2:00. He was AWESOME, did a great job, and did not leave any messes. I definitely give him a 5 star rating for the service he provided. Now its back to washing dishes :) read more

Charged me $171.12 to change out a damaged light fixture with an identical replacement one that had been damaged by the wind. Took them ten minutes to do it and I was the one that bought the replacement piece. Will NEVER use this company again. Huge rip-off. I am telling EVERYONE I work with of my experience with this company and not to use them. read more
