My husband was out of town. Originally I had called another business and I was told I needed a new heating/AC system which would cost around $6,000. They said the furnace had a cracked heat exchanger that was leaking carbon monoxide and could be deadly. Another option I was given was to spend $1,000 for a few repairs but that would only buy me another year then I would need to replace the system. The price of this false information was $69. I called Larry's for a quote for a new system. They showed up on time and just went to my furnace and took the front of it off and began checking it over. He sprayed some pressurized air inside and then turned the heater back on. Voila! It was working perfectly again. The only thing that was wrong with it was a dirty heat sensor. He said that the heat sensor is a safety mechanism to turn off the heater if it doesn't sense the fire. Since mine was dirty it wasn't sensing the heat and therefore just shutting off the furnace after a few seconds. He explained to me that when the heat exchanger is cracked the fire will be shooting backwards at me-it wasn't. I really appreciate that he took the time to educate me, a woman who didn't know any better, on what to look for so I wouldn't be conned again. They did not charge me a dime either! After Larry's fixed my heater I asked my father-in-law who is HVAC certified to come check it out and he verified what I was told by Larry's. This is definitely an honest company. I recently looked in to getting an electrical transfer switch in order for me to connect a…read moregenerator to my house and alleviate the need to have a bunch of extension cords and maximize the power output of my generator. Because my water comes from a well I actually needed the transfer switch so if power goes out I would at least have water. Anyone with a water well should really consider this. I called Mayan AC & Electric and set up an appointment to have them come to my house and give me a no cost assessment of what would work best for what I needed and stay in my budget. On the day of the appointment the company owner, Orlin Beteta, came to my house and did a very thorough inspection based on what I was asking for; Orlin's honesty and professionalism was spot on. Because I did not have the generator at the time Orlin recommended that we set up the install appointment for once my generator was delivered within the next week. A lot of other companies would have probably taken my money and installed the transfer switch kit but Orlin wanted to make sure everything worked perfectly. On the day of the transfer switch kit install Orlin had two of his employees come out to perform the install. They were professional, knowledgeable, efficient and thorough. Once the kit was installed they explained to me, while we tested my generator, how to safely transfer from city to generator power and back. While my house was running on generator power his employees did safety and efficiency assessments. Orlin Beteta, his company and employees are all top notch! We moved to Amarillo this past year, and found a wonderful house that had been well maintained…read more This past week 100+ temperatures took their toll on our 9 year old A/C condenser, causing the the capacitor to give up the ghost, and some damage to the windings in the motor. We survived the night so I called PD Heating & Air (because their name was on the sticker on the unit) at 9:00 this morning, knowing full well that they were probably backed up with similar calls. The woman I spoke with on the phone took my information and confirmed that they were extremely busy, but she would try to get a technician out this afternoon or tomorrow morning at the latest. She informed me that he would call prior to coming to the house. Was I surprised when the phone rang about 11:15 and a young man named David asked if someone would be home and that he was in the neighborhood, probably 10 minutes away. I assured him that we were indeed home, and true to his word he arrived (with mask) in about 8 minutes. David quickly diagnosed the problem, and had a capacitor to get us back up and running. He checked the condenser and noted that the motor may have suffered some damage & would eventually need replacement maybe yet this year or next at most. I had him price it up, and he checked to make sure one was available so I had him replace it while we were here. Since he had the grill off the top to replace the motor, he cleaned the inside base & washed the fins as well (no charge.) David took the time to show me everything I could do to keep the unit running smoothly, as well as explained everything that he was doing during the repair. I have our permanent HVAC service folks now, and highly recommend them to anyone looking for fast, efficient, friendly, punctual, and caring service. ps - David represents your company well...I hope he is being well compensated!
