Prices are a $0.25-0.40 a gallon higher than a few other gas stations in San Francisco however this station is convenient to I-280 plus it's clean with newer pumps. Having had my credit card phished three or four times at old machines (both at convenience stores and gas stations), I appreciate up-to-date technology gives a layer of security. Honestly, I could've saved a couple of bucks going to another, less expensive gas station a week from now to top off my tank but this station earned my trust and business. Recommend. read more

Heading to go pick up a family member in Sacramento 4 hour drive was bad enough when the dashboard indicator said low tire pressure. Ugh went to get gas and adjusted air in the tires but still not assured. AAA said they would tow me but I was stuck I had no idea where to tow. I looked for a full service station. Non existent in San Francisco when I decided to Yelp. So glad I did Guerrero Shell was 10 minutes away and although I called before his scheduled 8 am hours this polite and kind man said to come in at 8 am. First Shell Gas in the city that I can't use my shell saver card. The cashier doesn't know what to do. Can't pay at the pump. I need to fill up my truck and I was asked, how much do I want? I mean, lady, cmon, it's a matter of how much I need. Avoid this joke of a gas station. Update: Shell Saver Card is a check/debit card issued by Shell. FYI, you can't pay at the pump. I was able to use my Shell Fuel Rewards just fine. If I'm topping off my tank, how would I know how much I'd need? I can't give that amount to the cashier. read more

We use Guerrero Shell for our Volvo. My wife had been a regular at Centrum Volvo. They moved here. She drives a 2001 Volvo XC70. It only has 120,000 miles. Volvos are great (I had an S80), and they can last a good long while (mine passed 200,000 miles after I sold it to a nephew). They also are expensive to repair. We trust Bill. He has kept my wife's car going through various breakdowns as it approaches the end of its life. He assures us we have another couple of years to go. He has looked for the best means to fix this and that. He can do major repairs: for example, we had him install a new transmission (a refurbished one). We have had other Volvo dealers work on our vehicles, in Washington, D.C. and Detroit. We also tried a dealer in San Francisco. Bill is as good as the dealer. His turnaround time also is excellent. read more

This review only applies to Volvo owners. If you want to be oversold and overcharged then this is the spot to go. Had some work done here and paid a little over $1.2k for repairs where as if I went to another shop it would of been half the cost. Paid 1 hour labor for inspection and they didnt even tell me that I had an oil leak from my engine due to the wrong cap size, coolant leak, support problems, and etc. Just got my coils and spark plugs changed at Auto 280 on Ocean, which costed me hundreds of dollars, where as if I went to Bill he would of easily charged me over 1k+. The owner at Auto 280 also notified me of all the problems with my car, which Bill and his crew clearly missed. I mean what can you expect from someone who isn't a mechanic. So I went in the night of 12/28/21 around 8:00pm First I had used 10$ through Apple Pay on the pump and when I pulled on the pump it pressed the wrong Grade. So I put the pump back and told the cashier (Young Man) that i wanted to use the regular Grade of gas. So instead of just changing it for me, he declined the purchase and so I had to Pay 10$ AGAIN for the gas. Whatever I didn't mind, and I asked him When will the money be refunded back into my account, and he told me it was gonna be (2 Days) so it wasn't bad. It's already 01/15/2022 and I have NOT received any refund at all from SHELL! When I went back to speak to a manager in the day time, if was an older lady and she didn't even say anything just said (Come tomorrow, My son Works, don't understand) alright whatever. I work and usually have to drive out of the city a few times and I'm just way too busy, so I've called a few times but no answer. Now I have to go back in the daytime and see what the problem is about getting my refund. 10$ in this city goes a long way, and I'm starting to think that guy just lied to me and maybe kept the 10$ or something I don't know because I've seen my transactions from that day till now and NOTHiNG! read more

I brought my old car here for test only checks for ten years, it's not the cheapest but after it passed here the first time I didn't want to jinx it by taking it anywhere else. It was finally time to sell that old car, it had been a good car and I was planning on driving it a few more years but a deal I couldn't pass up fell in my lap. Fortunately I found a guy right around the corner interested in it but the whole deal was riding on passing smog. If it passed he'd pay for the test and buy the car; if it didn't pass I'd eat the price of checking. We both needed this deal to happen quickly but the day he got the money together the earliest I could meet him was at 5:15 pm and most places seem to close at 5:00. I suggested Guerrero Shell because I was pretty sure I'd brought my car after work before but he had another idea and since he was likely paying for it I didn't object. We got to his choice at about 5:25 right as they were rolling down the door so he jumped out and talked to the guy. They changed their hours because of the economy he said and suggested another place down the street. We get to the other place at 5:31 and were told they close the garage at 5:30. Things were looking grim but I had an idea. I found up Guerrero Shell on my yelp app and gave them a call. Good news they were open and taking cars until 6:00 pm. We got there at about 5:45. Shady. They will rip you off if they can. I came here for a smog inspection since it's two blocks from me. I ask how much it costs, and Vu says $70. I show him the yelp coupon and he says ok, I'll give you the $20 discount, so only $59 ... Wait, what? So I push him on this and he says it's actually $79 to start with. What? You just said $70!? Yeah he says, "the machine price" is always going up, everything is always going up. Umm ... what? Fine, whatever. I decide to get it done anyway for $59 since I'm there and crunched for time. When I come back 20 minutes later, I get an invoice for $68 . Huh? I remind them of the discount. Oh yeah, they say, already included. Where? It's not on the invoice. Already included, they say, the normal price is $88 so the discount brings it to $68. SMFH. I try to contest it with the cashier, explaining that was not the price I was quoted, but she just blew me off, mumbling something about not speaking English. I recently brought my car in for a smog check, and subsequently for service. Guerrero Shell failed to honor my AAA discount request. There were questionable and unauthorized charges associated with the SMOG check and with the subsequent service where I was charged for a part broken by a Guerrero Shell mechanic, and incurred a labor charge for the need to locate the broken part. These issues were discussed with the onsite person receiving payment who identified himself as the owner, and the mechanic with no resolution. read more

My check engine light was on and I needed to have a smog check so i took it to Vu. He charged me $165 for a diagnostic test that come to find out most places will do for free or for a minimal fee...then he sent me a quote for $499 for some other bs work he said needed to be done that really didn't. I was alone when I dropped it off and a little frazzled when I got there not knowing what to do, well he definitely took advantage. Places like this is why good honest mechanics get a bad rap!!! A complete and total ripoff. I'm the owner of a small business so I had to give someone a 1 Star but this business truly deserves it. My starter broke in San Francisco and I called AAA and they recommended this body shop. The starter ending up costing me over 1000 dollars!! I know that San Francisco is expensive but this was plain ridiculous. The starter cost 352.44 and the labor was 450! The diagnostic cost 145 and John wouldn't discount the diagnosis Very disappointed in that AAA recommended their service but it turned out to be a nightmare. Dishonest. Sloppy service. Bad parts. I came to Guerrero Shell to replace my car's catalytic converter after it was stolen. When I towed in my car, they refused to give me any estimate or quote unless I paid for a diagnosis, which would be included in the cost of repair. They saw that my car was towed in and I was stranded. It took them 4 hours to provide a quote, after the tow was long gone. I had no other option. Right after I received my car back, the check engine light went on, showing a problem. I took my car to a dealership. The dealership determined that Guerrero Shell used a defective after-market part and improperly serviced the repair by welding the defective part without actually repairing the damaged pipe and my car would never pass a smog check. I told Guerrero Shell that they used a bad part and I explained that I cannot return the car to Guerrero Shell as I did not trust their work, they would further damage my car, and my car is no longer in Northern California. After over 1 month, they still refuse to refund ~$1,900 that I paid. They guaranteed that the repair would be BAR certified and pass a smog check, which did not happen: a breach of warranty. I have wasted so much time on this business. read more
