I finally made it out to Guajome Park, and I have to say...I'm in love! This park is so spacious that even on a weekend, it never felt crowded. Whether you're looking for a peaceful solo walk or a nice outing with family and friends, you can't go wrong with this park. The walking trails are well-maintained, making it easy to enjoy a scenic stroll without worrying about rough terrain. except when it's raining, watch out for the puddles and they can be very deep. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean everything was--seriously, not a piece of trash in sight! It's clear that this park is well taken care of. If you're looking for a spot to unwind, get some fresh air, and enjoy nature, this is it.

This is such a pretty park. I had never been but had been meaning to go for some time. It was a pretty spring day and everything was still very green. Parking is $3 but you can park in the neighborhood and walk in too. There were tons of families, walking, barbecuing, riding bikes and playing in the playground. I also saw a horse trailer and someone unloading their horse too. We walked partially around the lake and sat on several benches watching the birds floating around. Since it is spring there was a clutch of 3 goslings swimming around with the ducks and geese. They were so cute diving under the water, popping back up and shaking it off. There are signs that say don't feed the birds bread but there were lots of families feeding bread. They should really have someone, maybe even volunteers, walking around to discourage this and make the signs in multiple languages. I imagine it getting very hot in the summer months so I think I would go in the morning if going in the warmer months. It's a pretty walk and I'll be back

Great local park to zoom out. There are several trails offering different views to walk or run.

I somehow got 3 teenagers to walk almost 4 miles around this park without complaining! I call that a big win!

What a great park! There's lots of trails and a cute little lake with lots of ducks. Huge fields, perfect for picnics or sports. You can also camp here which is a great spot with all the walking trails. There isn't a ton of shade though so be prepared. Parking is $3 cash only. That's a huge downside especially since this park is never packed. Overall what a great place to enjoy time with your dogs, friends and family.

Beautiful park to hang out at. You can walk around the lake, and there are other trails that shoot off from that area. Lots of ducks and geese! Plenty of picnic tables, a park, horseshoe pit, and clean bathrooms. It's $3 to park.

Came for a party and loved the picnic area setting. Beautiful, spacious, and nice area. Plus the lake with the ducks and geese was a great addition! Parking is $3.

Enjoy a leisurely stroll around a picturesque lake on the park's walking path. While there is an entrance fee, the scenic views and well-maintained trails might make it worthwhile for some visitors.

Site 33 is trash. Slanted and directly under a super bright light. More pavement than campsite. Tonight's going to suck.

This park is great. There are TONS of biking/hiking trails for all ages and abilities. It's kinda hidden in plain site but gets super expansive once you get past the parking lot off Santa Fe. There are trails covered by foliage by streams, trails around the lake, and trails through a meadow. This is the 3 star part. The 1.5 of the 2 missing stars are for the campground. The spots are rather small and at least 50% paved over. I think it would be ok if you had an RV, but camping to me is sleeping in a tent. There's not much room on these spots to pitch a tent. My site was especially bad. Site 33. If you have the choice of camping in site 33 or staying home, stay home. 60% of this site is pavement, table, and fire ring. 30% of it is on the side of a hill, so it isn't conducive to sleeping. The 10% that's actually a decent spot to pitch your tent is underneath a light that's lighting the walkway that's right next to the site. This might be the worst spot I've ever camped on. Pictures below. 1/2 star for the facilities. The toilets and showers are VERY clean and well stocked. Tokens are available at the front check-in office for $0.25 for 2 minutes. Very reasonable.

This is a San Diego County Regional Park and I have to say, probably one of the best kept secrets in the area. This is a very picturesque campground with full hookup RV or tent sites, showers ($), restrooms, lakes, equestrian, biking and hiking trails about a half mile from a Super Walmart in case you forgot something at home. This park is also at the eastern end of the bike trail that goes down to Oceanside Harbor. We love this park and will continue to attend as we have the opportunity to to so.

Beautiful Hiking Trails. Fishing at the lower lake. There are two. Theres the the one you can see from Highway 76 and theres one further up that you can only reach by hiking/walking thats smaller but you cant see from any road. As you see from my picture, duckies, and coots, all manner of birdies at the park. Ive spotted bluejays, egrets great blue herons, king fishers. Its wonderfully maintained by the rangers there. They deserve so much credit for the work they do there. I visit a lot of parks all over the country and I have to say that I take such pride in how beautiful Guajome looks. Its well groomed, clean and safe because the rangers there keep the trails in such great condition for hiking, running, horse riding and clear enough of debris and yet its still enough for wheelchair access in parts of it still. Picnicking is lots of fun everywhere. Theres even a hall for to host an even such as a reception should you want to have an event there. Theres a little gym, with work out equipment area complete with volleyball court, and a beautiful campground next to one of the more treasured little pieces of nature all around this area where you can get lost and wander among beautiful trees next to it next to a tiny stream. And lastly, theres 2,entrances to the park. One from highway 76 and one from Sante Fe Rd. The one from Sante Rd is the part of the park that has a basket court and huge picnic area and playground. You can access hiking trails from there where you can reach the larger Lake next highway 76 and the smaller lake going the opposite direction.

This place was a very nice walk, so many different trails all over to explore. It was nice that there was plenty of shade here and there throughout our walk. Making it not so hot, since the day was sunny and 78*. Some trails are extremely narrow as well as some bridges. It is stroller accessible, but like I mentioned, areas get narrow. It is also dog friendly. There are people using it as a bike trail so definitely keep an eye out on your surroundings. The parking is $3 and it's cash only. There is a neighborhood near by you can easily park and walk if you don't have any cash on you. There is a nice kids park in the front by the main parking lot as well. Lots of nature to explore and a giant pond that is home to ducks and other creatures. There was a lot of pollen and bugs in the air when we went. Overall this is an awesome walking trail, rather easy and level throughout. Will definitely be back

Nice and clean campground! Seems to skew more towards RVs but still decent size for tent camping.

I could just see my kids getting bored...and then saying..."Are we going home? I'm bored!". Well, Rancho Del Oro solved that problem...how?! Let me tell you! They have a nice area cornered off for kids! No really, it's true! It's right by the tennis courts. So, parents, take note...get there early, and set up right before the ground slopes downward. Kids can play and be within sight at all times. A group of hula hoop dancers brought out tons of hula hoops after their performance for the kids to play with. There were gymnastic mats too. I really couldn't believe how content my kids were. Two opening acts, and the the main act came out. The Mar Dels were the big performers tonight. I've wanted to see them forever...and they didn't disappoint. Tons of cover songs from the 1950-1970's, and a nice sized danced floor right infront of the stage. People were thoroughly enjoying their Friday night....and was this girl! My kids played while my friend and I ate pizza, brownies, and drank beer.
