Stone wall in back of park

Nice little park near Camp Pendleton and the Oceanside airport. Fairly easy to get to, right off of the 5 freeway. Plenty of shade trees, picnic tables, a bathroom, tennis courts, baseball/softball fields, play area for kids. Plenty of dogs off leash and they use the baseball fields for a dog play area.

We attended a 5 year old birthday party and it was a very cute park tucked away in a neighborhood in Oceanside close to base. I was surprised that it was actually a great place to have a birthday. I think everyone had fun for the toddler and older kiddos. I didn't check the bathrooms scenario. But, I did see one family taking professional photos near the park side. It's at the end of a road, so not too much traffic, but a great place to drop by again.

Im not hard to please, i come from nothing. But do me wrong and i wont come back again. But i will still be a lady and say ty

A really nice park. Clean and quiet area to relax and let the kids run around and play. Worth the visit.

Small park with playground and tennis court. For Pokémon Go trainers, we spent half an hour here with no luck.

Ask the Community - Capistrano Park

What are the hours?

I believe they close the gates at 5pm, though I've been there later and I haven't seen anyone there from the city, so they might either be lax or were a bit late. I'd call the City of Oceanside to be absolutely sure though.

Are there bbqs? Are they allowed?

We have had barbecues there for years; and I think the old school metal grated ones are still there, if they didn't renovate and pull them. I remember having tables set up along the basketball court and the party stretched all the way around past… Read more

There's also a couple of tennis courts that are a great way to have family fun with a toddler or infant, believe it or not!

This was my first time camping alone, and this was the perfect place to do it. Super easy booking…read moreand not too deep into the wilderness. The camp spots are all quite close to each other with not much privacy, but that wasn't a problem for me. If you plan on pitching a tent, I really hope you have mats (like we did) because the ground is (as you can see) plain dry ground. The park itself seems really great for biking and just walking around. They have long and short trails with lots of nature to look at. The lakes themselves are not too big, but I did see people fishing. There are many benches throughout the trails. There were also many trees that gave me many options for putting my eno up! Amenities: - 50¢ for 4 min showers - the bathroom is only for campers and it was SO clean. The shower was really warm and i actually felt clean after using it lol

Guajome Regional Park has a lot to like. This fairly large space has multiple parks with…read moreplaygrounds, nice picnic areas, a fishing area, and a campground. That's the Western half that is more like the park. The Eastern half has walking trails that are more like a nature preserve. Some reviewers commented about how the trails are unkempt, and that's mostly true on the Eastern side and the Nature Trail. It wasn't too bothersome, as most of the trails were wide enough. The annoying part, though, is that there's a lot of dry, dead weeds/plants that carpet the trails with little splinters, which inevitably get into my shoes and jab me. Other than that, it's an easy, flat-ish 4 miles of walking. Lots of birds by the lake. Parking is paid in the lot, but there's also free parking along the street.

I could just see my kids getting bored...and then saying..."Are we going home? I'm bored!". Well, Rancho Del Oro solved that problem...how?! Let me tell you! They have a nice area cornered off for kids! No really, it's true! It's right by the tennis courts. So, parents, take note...get there early, and set up right before the ground slopes downward. Kids can play and be within sight at all times. A group of hula hoop dancers brought out tons of hula hoops after their performance for the kids to play with. There were gymnastic mats too. I really couldn't believe how content my kids were. Two opening acts, and the the main act came out. The Mar Dels were the big performers tonight. I've wanted to see them forever...and they didn't disappoint. Tons of cover songs from the 1950-1970's, and a nice sized danced floor right infront of the stage. People were thoroughly enjoying their Friday night....and was this girl! My kids played while my friend and I ate pizza, brownies, and drank beer. Family friendly, dog friendly, great venue...I'll be back!
