We love this park! Clean, good bathrooms, and lots of easy parking. The play structures (both in toddler and older kid sections) are big with lots to play with! Large are with 4 (I believe?) picnic tables under shading. Green fields to run in. Beautiful view and you can see lots of airplanes due to Palomar airport which my toddler loves so much. read more

I love this park so much! It's perfect for a picnic and there is always a bunch of things going on from yoga to birthday parties. I usually go up to the top with takeout and enjoy a picnic with a view. There are a few picnic benches and other seating options. There is also a large open space for a picnic blanket. I had to share the space with a Yoga class once though. There is plenty of parking- just take the driveway up to the top. There is a playground, soccer field, baseball field, and probably more that I didn't explore. There isn't too much shade, so don't forget your sunscreen. read more

They do not care about the basketball courts as you can clearly see. Dirty court, cut nets, crooked rims....there's a reason why these courts are usually empty and i understand now. Please fix these issues and keep them maintained, this problem is starting to bleed over into the rest of the park. read more

Beautiful park with plenty to do and have kids play at. Looks like an awesome place to have a party at.

Nice park with plenty of room for our grandson to play and run around. Clean and safe.

This park is gorgeous. I mean, most parks are gorgeous by design. But, along with the typical updated playgrounds, rolling greenery and play fields, there is also an amazing view of the valley below and all of the office complexes beyond. Normally, something like that wouldn't be so lovely to look at; yet at a distance, it's a serene and beautiful sight as you stand watching in the cool breeze. The brown hills and brush, the dotting of green trees, white buildings in solid patterns, even the thin lines of roads and the slow cars driving along them, from so far away it's just amazing to look at. Anyway, I came here for a birthday party for one of my son's kindergarten friends. Multiple gazebos with seating and grills line the play area, allowing for large groups to setup and eat while still within sight of their kids. The ground is that foam sponge material that's all the safety rage these days. There are large fields between the parking lots and playground, keeping children somewhat protected from cars. Plus, everything is nice and clean. Honestly, it's a gorgeous park. read more

Awesome community park located in Carlsbad! After spending hundreds of dollars at Legoland, The Wild Animal Park, and other touristy destinations in San Diego, my 5 year old said THIS PARK was his favorite part of our entire San Diego trip. I used to wonder why people bother to yelp parks, and up until last week I never thought I would write a review on a park. But when I searched "kid activity" near "Carlsbad, CA", this park popped up. And since it was free, we decided to check it out. There were only a few reviews written on this park and I think I know why (you want to keep it a secret!)...but I'm going to let this one out of the bag because it really was such a nice surprise to find in the middle of a residential area! My son nicknamed this park "Rattlesnake Park" because of: http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=QhYJx2jQdPuSq3fGe3aGcA&select=WlIq4qr3WFg2fK0Ni6SbRQ Although we didn't see any rattlesnakes, this park is near a canyon and I'm sure those things could slither right into the playing area. The play structures were located on top of a spongy soft floor which makes it nice in case the kids fall. http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=QhYJx2jQdPuSq3fGe3aGcA&select=xcIQIyS4GigxLA8f0dSPHA http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=QhYJx2jQdPuSq3fGe3aGcA&select=Wz8Z-1LsUjZsew04hdGGUA There were 8 swings; 4 of them were designed for the infant/toddlers, with the holes in the bottom for the legs to go through, and the other 4 were regular swings. http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=QhYJx2jQdPuSq3fGe3aGcA&select=A1gpilYfCIxDCRSbGEGXEQ There was also a nice long V shaped path for Razor scooters, bikes, tricycles, roller blades, etc that went around the perimeter of the park. The shaded gazebos with BBQ grills are probably a huge hit during the summers, and the basketball/tennis courts and the huge baseball field on the other side probably get put to good use. Thanks for letting us play at your park, Aviara Community! read more

This is our local park and we love it. Never had any issues and our son loves the playground. It's a convenient spot to have a small birthday party as well. read more

New to the area and I have 2 grandkids under the age of 2, this is a quaint, quiet fun little park, it has the rubber mat for safety but it does retain heat and gets hot if your kids like to go barefoot so wear bootie socks. There's a beautiful covered picnic bench area, large grassy area, and a small path walk for kids to ride their little scooters, bikes, or strollers. read more

The good, is the view, the playground and the landscape. I love how it is overlooking the city. There are different areas to the park, we went to the playground side. There is benches placed strategically to get the best views while relaxing. Plenty of space to walk around, and the bathrooms are super clean. You can rent out spots for events, or the fields for teamplay. I will make sure to mark this park because its one of the more peaceful places in the area. I will return. read more

Really cool park! Tons to do. Lots of grassy areas. The playground is fun with multiple slides and climbing areas. Swing set present. The ground is the soft material, not sand. You can walk around the entire park. Multiple basketball courts, soccer fields. Two bathrooms. Covered picnic tables. Very clean and well maintained. read more

Lovely park in a residential area. If it was not for running my vietual 5k around the area, would not have discover the park. Nice view of the carlsbad airport and the surrounding. With Covid and not being able to eat in restaurants...the family and I have been going to the local parks for picnic lunches with takeout food... So here we go...4/5 stars Parking - 5/5 plenty of parking and seems most visiting are locals who walk or bike to the park. Seating - 3/5 not a lot of shaded area but lots of green and easy to social distance Crowd - 4/5 mostly locals, lots of kids biking around so watch out and be careful Trashcan - 3/5 few trashcan so remember to take your trash with you View - 4/5 good view of north east side of carlsbad read more

Was a fan of ARIVA for the last 3 years of living in SD. Was shocked to see they charged me over $400 once I moved out. I asked, and pressed management, that they do a final walk-thru of my place. There definitely wasn't $400+ of damage...as there was NO damage! I've never as much as hung any pictures. My place was well maintained. On top of all that, I cleaned the place even though it wasn't required. So, not happy that I didn't get an explanation about the ridiculous charge. Called and got the run-a-round. Lots of changes in management and staff which speaks to things being a bit unstable. Thanks ARIVA / Corey for everything. read more

Took my kids here a few times over the summer and have been to quite a few birthday parties here. I think the park is a great balance of space for family time and space for the kids to run around and enjoy themselves. The playground is great and it's really clean and well maintained. I also think they do a great job maintaining the field for soccer/football. Whenever we come here, there's always a birthday party here, and who can blame them? It's a really clean park! read more

The one thing Carlsbad does not lack are beautiful parks. Aviara Community Park is one of them. This park has a variety of amenities- half basketball courts, tennis courts, four large gazebos, a huge playground and hiking paths. The gazebos are perfect for children's birthday parties. I noticed that each gazebo had its own BBQ pit. The only thing that caught me by surprise were the watch out for snake signs. I never saw a snake but just seeing signs and knowing it's a possibility, frightens me. read more

Great location overlooking the canyon where palomar airport road runs. A nice place to park yourself for views of the fourth of july fireworks. It's kept very clean and safe, well lit. The restrooms are well maintained. For the covered picnic tables near the playground, you only need to reserve if you have a large group, otherwise there is usually at least one table available. My girls love this place! Also note on the snake sign- we've never seen a snake since we've been coming over the last few years. I think it's more for liability. It seems to be common in this area. read more

The cleanest outdoor park bathrooms we've ever seen. Same amenities as a regular bathroom (not metal toilets etc). Regular toilets, toilet paper, seat covers. Park is very clean and you have a lot of friendly families that come here. In the park area, not much besides a grass area to play catch. Alga Norte is much better (fun level) but Aviara is better for a quiet day at the park. read more

One of the rare parks which kids playground area has no sand!! Hence kids playground area is spacious. Parking is easy and extremely close.

Alga Norte is the best pool in the area for water polo and swimming. I have so many memories from Moonlight Beach Water Polo and CBAD here and I am Joining NCA this year. I come here in the mornings to meditate and get my mind right 5 times a week after dropping my wife off of work before I go out and drive for Uber and Lyft. In the mornings, it's a nice quiet park. A lot of space for walking and exercise. The park is comprised of two spaces, the playground on one end and the community center on the other. It's a huge park and it's up on a hill too, so you get a sense of peace when you're up there. I highly recommend this park to anyone. read more

The kids and I love this park's playground area. The Snake Warning sign can be intimidating, but I haven't seen any snakes nor heard any rattles so it's all good. :) The playground floor is the best out of the different types in my opinion, as it is soft and bouncy. It's not messy, kids can't pick it up and throw it, and it allows for different designs. Two sets of swings, two playground sets, shaded picnic area, a small grass field to the left, restrooms, and lots of places to sit to watch your kids play in close distance, all combine to make this playground area one of the best here in North County. read more

We love this park! It has a ton of open space, a fun skate park to watch the kids on bikes, scooters and skateboards, and two great playgrounds. My kids love the zip line and the diggers. We have not been to the splash pad yet but it looks like a lot of fun read more

We were staying at a nearby hotel and needed some old-fashioned time on the swing. What I liked: the rubbery squishy floors that were all throughout, plenty of swings, slides, rocking horses, and for those hosting bday parties, lots of covered pavilions. As a perk, there are some nice trees and a raised planter that makes a nice seat for parents. read more

The location and facilities are great. However, parents of the 50+ middle school age children were not watching their children. This would not be an issue if they were playing on the grass or on the baseball field. Instead they were playing on the playground meant for young children. My use of play is probably not the most apt description however. My young children were unable to even get onto the equipment because the kids blocked them every time they tried to climb up. We were not the only young families there either. When we asked the kids to move they refused. I will certainly avoid this playground now. All this on a Friday; why weren't these kids in school? read more

I brought two of my three daughters to Aviara Community Park as my third daughter was in her gymnastics class. We decided to try it out based on other Yelp reviews about this park. As I've found with most parks in the Carlsbad area this park is well maintained and above average compared to other community parks. This park has the astro turf on the playgrounds so you won't need to worry about sand getting in your kids shoes. There are two play structures... one that is more suited for younger children and another one that is shaped like a ship for older, more agile children. There are 4 regular swings as well as 4 infant/toddler swings which is more than the typical park. They also have 4 animal bouncer things (2 dolphins and 2 seahorses) that your children can sit on and rock back and forth on. Right beside the playground is a fairly large grass area for your kids to run around if bouncing around the playgrounds aren't enough. There are also 4 large gazebo areas that provide lots of shade with ample seating and tables underneath in case you want to hold a party of some kind or just enjoy a picnic at the park. There are clean and well maintained restrooms close by as well. I'd bring my daughters back to this park again with no hesitation. I would recommend this park to any of my other family and friends as well. It's clean, well maintained and based on my observation in a safe area. Adjacent to the park is a community center that has various sports fields for team activities. Aside from the community center the park is surrounded by nicer townhouses as well as single family residencies. read more

Nice, clean neighborhood park with two big play structures, some swing sets, and some spring animals to ride on. My kids really enjoyed it two years ago when we were here last time, but they seem to be getting a little big for the place now at nine years old. Great for babies and toddlers for sure! Nice picnic benches, sidewalks, and grassy areas, too. Wonderful view of the valley to boot! read more

We were staying in the area and were SO happy to find a playground for my 2 y.o. That didn't have sand (and endless clean-up) or wood chips (splinters for days). He played here for over an hour between the swing sets, two jungle gyms and rocking horses. Great park for toddlers and lots of covered BBQ area. read more

One of the best parks in North County! Great play structures, soft squishy ground, plenty of space to run around. We had my son's 2nd birthday party at Aviara and we were able to set up a jumpy in the grassy area behind the picnic tables. Great park near Aviara Oaks schools. Watched my cousin practice soccer there. The field is stunningly beautiful and there's a lot for younger kids to do at the park. This is a newer park so the amenities are much nicer than other parks in the area. It does get pretty cold at night because of the canyon so I'd recommend a jacket. Definitely a great spot for a family outing. read more

This is a wonderful park in Carlsbad that is sand free! Sometimes it's nice not to have to deal with sand in the car after a day at the park. The infant swings are also shaded under a tree, which is an added bonus. There are covered picnic areas available for rental. The parents here are nice and encourage their children to share toys, It's much nicer when all the toys become more of a communal lot that everyone plays with. read more
