Huge park! very clean and well landscaped. there are a few walking paths for scooters or walkers, a large covered playground, bathrooms, soccer fields, dog park. There are a few picnic tables here and there next to the playground. Overall an awesome park!

How lucky I am to live in a community with such a beautiful park. It offers plenty of parking, a covered children's play area, a dog park and skate park as well as picnic tables, benches, restrooms and sports fields for soccer, baseball and community events. The park is safe and well maintained. What more could you ask for? I've met so many friendly people here who come to exercise on a regular basis. There's a Vons grocery store to the north of the park just in case you need some last minute food items or snacks for a family gathering or picnic. It's all here in the beautiful community of Encinitas.

This park is huge and absolutely beautiful! There is lots of parking in different areas of the park, near every section, because it's so big. There are nice, big, paved sidewalks all through the park, beautiful green grass that is well cared-for, a skatepark, huge playgrounds and more! This park is great for anyone of any age. There's also tons of large grass areas if you want to have a picnic or play soccer, football, or anything else. The park is also right nearby a grocery store and tons of other places. I definitely recommend!

Not only is this a great spot to go on a hot day, as the entire playground is shaded, it's also perfectly suited for children of all ages. I've come to find that my friends with older kids struggle to find good parks that their kids aren't bored with. This park boasts a giant rope jungle gym/course that is really awesome. It has smaller structures for the littles and even the small structures have beginning rope climbing sections. Well-kept bathrooms. Tons of parking. Manicured lawns. Unique ways for the kids to play. This park has it all. The drinking fountain even looks like a Lion! My kids thought that was a lot of fun.

What a cool big park! The park is beautiful, has a skate park, picnic areas, clean bathrooms and a dog park. We originally came for the dog park but it was closed for something for a month. So we'll need to come back. Plenty of space for everyone. Not much shade though since this is a new park still. Kinda hard to find of Encinitas Blvd, it's a small side street that you take a left into, or just go through the plaza, there are signs.

Great climbing area for older kids. Has wide variety of equipment for all ages. Soft landing pads, plenty of benches. Cool park.

Best park! Great climbing equipment for older kids plus lots for the younger ones too! Highly recommend!

Love this park. So serene. Extremely tranquil. Come here to walk our dog and have picnics. The grounds are super kept. Love the foliage and design of this park. We love exploring different parks and this one rates number one for our family.

This is truly a fantastic park! Right off the freeway behind VONS. Lots of open space to pick-nick on. Dog park, bathrooms, water fountains & plenty of parking. The skate park is not lit up tho...so once it gets dark you gotta skate on back home. It seems like there is always something fun going on here...follow the park on social media so that you don't miss out! The sports fields are located far end of the park- South / East kind off...drive the car alongside and park over there, if you are attending a sport event.

What a great kids park tucked in behind Vons and right off the freeway. The park is designed for age 2-5 and is fully shaded. My son had a lot of fun. The grass area is plenty and there is a dog park right next door too. Parking is av in three sides. My new favorite spot. The Picknick benches are unfortunately not covered but I'm grateful that the play area is.

Weird how such a massive park can be kinda hidden. It's tucked away off of the 5 where you'd least expect a massive outdoor facility to be, but there it is; a huge park filled with beautiful baseball and soccer fields, picnic areas, a skate park, and even an off-leash dog area. All of the grounds are immaculately kept. You won't find grass for sports this nice many places in San Diego. I'd say it's even better than the astroplay surface that's become more and more popular over the years. It's much easier on your joints and you don't have to pick little pieces of tire out of your nether regions for the next week. There's always events going on here and every visit has been nothing short of a superb park experience. If you some day see an intramural event of yours if being hosted here, you'll be impressed.

This is a great park that I frequent a lot with my daughter. They have a great state of the art playground and tons of grassy fields dog park and skate park. Great parking and friendly people one would be happy to live across the street from the park. There is shade for the hot days as well. Lots of sports on all the fields they offer.

When I arrived at his RV after the owner told me Kemba had been found there, Kemba was sitting in his lap, recieving some calming pats on her head after a very stressful last 90 minutes of wandering away and being found shivering in a bathroom stall. On top of the stress and frustration at myself for allowing that to happen, I comforted by Ted's warmth towards her upon her discovery, and by his warm, sincerely helpful demeanor that he demonstrated while explaining the story to me - the embarrassed and stressed dog sitter who had made a mistake. I so appreciate Ted's presence at Cottonwood Park. He said he helps with a lot of conflict resolutions in the parking lot, which I really respect, because I used to do conflict resolution for over 4 years in courts and interpersonally. I didn't tell him that, but I felt his grounded, service-oriented presence and quiet contributions that he likely makes to everyone who passes through. Thanks so much for your help - and for helping Kemba, who is now snuggled up next to my leg under a blanket

I will say, however, that this place is so big that you can very easily lose track of your kids. There were a few times on our last visit where I was scanning the playground for a minute or two trying to find one of my kids after looking after another one for a bit. But don't worry. There really is only one in and out so you don't have to worry about kids wandering off if you are around that bottleneck point. This is a great attraction that I hope the park never gets rid of. It offers kids a space to run around & just goof off and be kids while also blowing off steam. The only point of improvement I can think of if maybe offer some more (shaded) seating for parents. On hot days that would be greatly appreciated.
