My friends and I attended one of the TGIF Carlsbad Summer Concerts. The Reflexx band performed 80s and New Wave hits at the Stagecoach Park and put on quite a show! The band was amazing and the venue was a really nice location. What I liked about this park was that La Costa Canyon High School was within walking distance, so parking was plentiful. The park itself was clean, spacious, and well lit. It's located inside a quiet neighborhood and his family oriented. There's a play area for a little kids and soccer fields and basketball courts for the bigger kids. There are lots of grassy areas with big trees for those who want a nice picnic without direct sunlight beating down on them. read more

What is interesting about all the reviews on Yelp - they are 4 or 8 or 16 years old, nothing current. So, I guess nothing changed in Carlsbad. I'm usually seating , reading newspaper or walking around kids playground (waiting for my boss taking PT at Longevity). It's usually AM, so young mothers with the kids or grandparents helping them always present. Little farther up the hill there are tennis courts (and not to forget bathrooms and parking also available). The benches to seat are not really comfortable, (I guess it made to last forever) they are made from concrete and the backrest is missing. read more

This is a great neighborhood park with a lot of great amenities to offer adults and children. I was quite impressed with its overall size, 28 acres, and up keep of the park and recreation center. One thing I really liked about this place that it has a lot of grass and well manicured grass. The softball, baseball, and soccer field, not mention a football field, all had healthy green grass, but don't fret regarding the water usage because they are using recycled water! Yes, purple PVC pipes mean it's reclaimed and treated water for irrigation purposes. The posted signs also give it away. The park offer several gated and protected lighted tennis courts, BBQ station with covered patio with power, and playground equipment with a sand lot for the little ones and for those adults who would like to give it a gander. The basketball courts are prepared to take on night and day games and full or half court. A section that I was also impressed with was the museum or a historical point of interest regarding the Californios: those of Spanish descendant who once owned and ran huge ranches in California during Spain's and then Mexico's influence over the area. The historic ruins are of the amazingly preserved adobe remnants of Rancho Las Encinitas. I thought this was very cool. Great Park. read more

Stagecoach is a pretty cool park if you ask me... This place is really well maintained and has tons of large wide open fields, baseball fields and fantastic indoor/outdoor basketball courts. This park is alway well lit and has some old school historic ruins in the middle of the place. Overall, if outdoor activities are your thing, then this park is a great option to fulfill those needs. This is a large park! There's the small entrance for the playground but keep going and you'll see a larger sign for Stagecoach park and it's huge! There's many fields for different games to happen at once and plenty of parking throughout so that you don't have to park on the street. The park looks really well maintained and it's across the street from a plaza with a cupcake place, Sprouts and a few other options for food so you can picnic here at this park. Perfect! read more

Stage coach is pretty legit as far as pars go, however the thing that makes this one a little bit different is the historical aspect. Yep! kids LOOOOOOVEE history and adobe ruins to look at in the park, you haven't heard? 1886 was when this property was bought from a Mexican national and the ranch was converted to an Inn for stagecoach travelers to stay on the two day journey from Los Angles to San Diego. IF YA don't know, now you know.... But yeah sure, its a park.....with sports stuff and a playground. read more

This park is great to come to when you're not meeting up with friends because there's always a ton of other kids for them to play with. The playground is huge and fun for lots of ages. There's a huge grass area for playing sports. There's also two large seating areas for parties. There's also a cement path going in a huge circle around the park that's great for bikes and scooters. Although there's no shade on the playground, there is shaded seating and shaded spots to bring a blanket. The downside to this park is that there is no shade covering the playground and it gets very hot. The party benches are far away from the playground and parents can't be two places at once. The bathrooms are also really far away from the playground and sometimes I think it would be easier to have my son pee in a bush than to walk all the way over there and risk an accident. read more

Our local community park. It has two multi use fields with synthetic turf, a natural grass field as well as a couple of outdoor basketball courts. There is a gym that has a basketball court as well. For the most part, the fields are kept in good shape. I'm not a fan of the natural grass field though. The turf fields have shown their age at this point. On the other side of the park, there is a nice big play structure that our kids like to use as well as a picnic area. Overall, pretty A-ok. read more

Really like this park! We went during the week so it wasn't very crowded, but there were still plent yofkids for my kiddo to play with. I'm sure it's packed on the weekend. I really like how the play structures are quite a distance from the parking lot, in case your kid is a runner. I didn't explore the other areas in the park- we basically stuck to the playground. This is my favorite family park by far! We have been coming here since we moved from Orange County 3 years ago and it definitely compares to the amazing parks up there! We usually grab a coffee and hot chocolate for the kids at Coffee Bean across the street and spend a couple hours letting the kids burn their energy on the swings, slides, and little toddler climbing area. The playground has sand so be prepared to take off the kiddos shoes and let them run around. There's also a huge greenbelt to play soccer on if that's your thing! You will love this park!! read more

It's an excellent park since the City holds one of its Concerts in the Park series here and I see that facilities are used by many. My problem is not the park facilities, but dogs according to the City Municipal Code are forbidden. I live down the street, but I can't run my dogs here. The fix is easy since one can dedicate a portion for dogs as Encinitas does it for their parks (Viewpoint @ D Street, e.g.), or limit dogs to times and make sure that bags are available. read more

Very large area for running and playing, plenty of parking. Not was convenient to us just because of our location but every once in a while we make the trek over. They have a great Summer concert series that is nice to go to when you don't have anything else planned, just plan to be there way early because parking is a nightmare. The playground area of this park, aside from the sand floor, is a great area. It has 3 different playground sets to accommodate plenty of children at different ages. 1 for infants to toddlers has 1 dual slide and 1 twisted slide, with a ball maze and some gears to play with. There is one set that looks like a train or a stage coach. with one slide. The bigger set has 1 tall twist slide, 1 smaller twist slide, and 3 other slides, as well as poles to slide down, and monkey bars. There are also 2 sets of 2 swings each, 1 set is for infants. There are two shaded picnic areas with benches for party reservations, and a huge grass field for other outdoor games. On the other side of the Park there are soccer and baseball/softball fields. Great park in Carlsbad! Ample parking even on weekends and it is very, very clean and nice. Playground equipment is well maintained and so are benches and picnic tables. They have bathrooms also. Right near a Sprouts grocery store in case you forget something in your picnic basket! read more

Great park, that stretches on more than you'd think. They have ball fields, tennis courts, an indoor rec center, playground, pavilions to rent, and plenty of space for kids' parties and bounce houses. It can get hectic on most Saturdays, but most parks do, so plan ahead and go in off hours for parties or to use the tennis courts. read more

A favorite park in Carlsbad. We've spent many hours in the playground and, apart from the sandy floor, I have no complaints. The structures look pretty new, the crowd is watchful and involved, and there are lots of open spaces to throw a ball or have a picnic. Gazebos are available for rent, and make sure you do make a booking because this a popular spot for birthday parties. This park is also the venue of the Carlsbad Summer Concert Series. Great way to spend a lazy summer afternoon where you spread a picnic blanket, bring a bastket, pop open your favorite beverage (alcohol allowed), and let the kids run free. A dancefloor is usually located near the stage but beware of people dancing like epileptic frogs or spastic chickens. A really fun way to people watch! read more

I love this park and take my dogs there at night sometimes as they like to run around and get out all their energy. (I am female). I take them when there are no kids for them to knock over. I was there two nights ago alone between 8:30 and 10:00 PM without incident. Last night I was there between 9:00 and 10:00 PM with a friend who was wearing dark clothes. I was standing on the far edge of the field near the gazebo when I saw a large man with a baseball glove and ball come down from the bathroom area, smacking the ball into his glove repeatedly hard, he came across the bridge, turned right to walk along the creek up and over behind the kids playground, when I turned around I saw another guy coming down from behind the gazeebo and a third guy walking towards us from the corner where the stoplight is. I felt like they were closing in on us and I pretended to throw the dogs ball towards my car and "ran" in a playful manner and left as quickly as I could. I was so scared that I was prepared to leave my dogs if they didn't get in the car immediately. I was very scared and my heart pounding. The man we saw walking stayed in the area we just left and watched us leave. I felt that it may have been a trap or something or maybe they saw me there alone the day before. None of the people said anything and just being so isolated there with them coming from all corners made me feel so unsafe and I didn't even feel I had time to call the police, (besides what would I say, "people are walking in the park?") and didn't know if they meant any harm or not but usually people in the park say hello and wave and I may be totally wrong but my friend and I were so scared and I'm definately not going to be there alone at night ever again. read more
