There is an area for a band to play under the large pavilion and plenty of benches and shade. There are some trails here and a wooden suspension bridge that leads to a nice lookout point, and it was a great place to go for a hike with my dogs. It's very easy to find your way back. There is parking inside and you have to pay $5 to get in. There is also limited parking outside the park, you have to get there early to park there.

We came here seeking the suspension bridges and the butterfly garden. The park did not disappoint. Within a couple hours of hiking, we got to see both bridges, a beautiful outlook tower of Encinitas and beyond, as well as the sweet little butterfly garden next to 2 duck ponds. Although we chose to park on the neighborhood streets outside the park, there's plenty of parking inside the park ($5 day fee). There are a couple points of entrances. The lower entrance is nearest the recreational area that has a full basketball, volleyball, and pickleball court. All in all, I would highly recommend this place for a family outing, a hiking adventure, or simply a few hours of relaxing escape away from urban life.

Dried leaves go unraked, cobwebs adorn most of the equipment, and unused basketball courts feel both brand-new and rusted. The playground sand is marked mostly with bird feet, but the occasional shoeprint shines through where the rain from a month ago flattened it out. It was their homes. Desolate and abandoned, sitting on the edge of suburbia where no one talks to each other or ever leaves their homes. Seriously, this place is kind of surreal. True, I've only been here about five times, but I've never seen more than one person visit out of the hours and hours I've put in here. If it weren't for the traffic noise, it would feel a bit like a Twilight Zone episode. Anyway, it's about average as far as parks go. There's a good-sized field for running and playing soccer. Twin basketball hoops stand, there is a fair playground with an impressive array of slides, monkey bars, suspension bridges, and sliding poles. But, as I noted before, nothing seems to be maintained. It's as if nature has taken over and no one can be bothered to do a simple sweep up. I assume this is because no one seems to ever come out here. Why put in the work, if no one is going to enjoy the scenery? It's funny considering how many other parks always seem so crowded here in Encinitas; why this private, suburban one never sees any use is beyond me. Still, it's because of that abandoned, unkept feel that keeps me from viewing this park as anything above three stars.

They use recycled water so water is a breeze and it shows. The grass is very healthy, with plenty of trees, and flowering bushes. The park offers concrete benches strategically places in shaded areas. In the center of the park, you will find to large stationary BBQ's and above the park you find a half court basket ball, children's playground, bocce ball area, and restrooms. I think there's a horse shoe toss area, but I did not see one, then again I did not look for it. There area a couple of trails that lead away from the park and head up to a small hill with a look out which provided a great view of the park and the surrounding area. After my walk, I took a nap under one of the huge beautiful oak trees.

The park is rather quiet and it seems mainly locals come out here (most walked to and from the park). With that said, there's plenty of parking along the side of the park should you decide to commute out here. Overall, this park was pleasant and allowed our kids to experience sand as if they were at the beach and also play on a classic playground. Great place to soak in some sun for about half to a full hour before lunch or nap time (for the kids but I guess us adults too!)

Cons- street only parking, no bathrooms, equipment was all over the place, the hill that folks slide down on is very steep! and goes right into a large jungle gym, the zip line was challenging to get on and off and pretty intense for ages 5-12 imo, but kids were loving it! My daughter enjoyed this park a lot! It was very busy for the long time period we were there with her friend. I do feel like this park is probably for ages 4+ as the equipment leaned more toward jungle gyms, one tire swing, two (never enough swings) interesting looking adult joined baby swings, a couple spinners, one huge scary looking slide that was under repair, a huge zip line and two concrete slides. We came with a friend and tried the swings, the concrete slides, a little climbing on the jungle gym, we did slide down the hill with the girls and sent them down with one adult at the bottom to catch them and it was a little scary! We also tried the zip line with the girls on our laps but needed to assist each other to get on and off. Would love to see more swings up top around the grassy area and maybe moving the jungle gym at the bottom back and actually creating a large slide on the part where folks ride their cardboard down to prevent injuries

The band was amazing and the venue was a really nice location. What I liked about this park was that La Costa Canyon High School was within walking distance, so parking was plentiful. The park itself was clean, spacious, and well lit. It's located inside a quiet neighborhood and his family oriented. There's a play area for a little kids and soccer fields and basketball courts for the bigger kids. There are lots of grassy areas with big trees for those who want a nice picnic without direct sunlight beating down on them.

Something about living in this perfect city by the sea makes the people of this funky town vibrant. We are motivated by our love of art, music, dance and the fruits of our trees. This little sliver of land gets major action and is like an outdoor community center. In May local emerging bands battle it out for a spot to play at the music festival in June. The Leucadiart walk in August draws thousands of people to town and families set up blankets and picnic on this lush lawn. Other events include summer fun on the 101, outdoor movie nights and holiday tree lighting. So you see, big things come in small packages
